The simple interest formula (SI = P × R × T / 100) can be applied to solve word problems by substituting known values and setting up equations based on the given relationships. For example, when interest equals the principal minus a fixed amount, you can create an equation and solve for the principal. This formula is versatile and can be rearranged to find any of the four variables (P, R, T, or SI) when the other three are known.

IQ Questions Basic Mathematics : FIA Asstt, Inspector, S.Inspector, UDC, LDC and constable Part - 35Hinzugefügt:
Bismillah Rahmanirrahim. Assalamu Alaikum friends, on behalf of NTS Test Mart, I welcome you all to my channel.
Friends, let us upload part number 35 regarding Basic Mathematics and IQ MCQs.
34 parts are already ready. All these questions that I am solving, I have taken them from all the previous papers and all of them are present in this book.
So today we try to solve two questions. Today's questions are very important questions.
Friends, I am telling you again and again that you should not become a stickler to routine. There are some things that just by remembering them you can do a lot. Just like in yesterday's video I have told you some important things. And in today's video also there are some things which I am telling you. You just have to remember that. Then you will be able to solve every type of question.
See question number 87. Question No. 87 A person can invest certain sum of money at 5% simple interest and in 15 years.
The interest amounted to Rs 250 less than the sum lent. What was the sum lent in Rs.
First try to understand the question a little. There is a person who has lent some amount, it is not known yet how much money he has lent on interest. We are told that the rate of yarn is 5%.
Given for 15 years at 5% annual interest.
For how many years? For 15 years. After 15 years, the interest amount was ₹50 less than the actual amount. The actual amount was Rs 250 less than what it was. So now we have to find out the actual amount. The question seems a bit puzzling.
But look, I am telling you. If you just remember the formula of simple interest then you will be able to solve the entire question.
Ok? Just look at the formula for simple interest.
This is the formula for simple interest.
SI Simple Interest is PR T divided by 100, this is the thing you have to remember.
PRT Now what is the P here in this?
Principal amount is the actual amount as we call it. P stands for principal amount. The actual amount of money he has given on interest. This is that amount. It is R rated. The rate given here is 5%. t which is t is time. t time is 15 years which is given to us here. Now what you do in this formula is put in these values that we've been given.
Look, we don't know. P We have to find out.
P We have to find out. And R is given to us. What is R? I am 15 years old.
So multiply this. R 15 years to 15 15 years instead of R we put 15. Now we have what T? The interest rate is 5%. Sorry sorry this is 5%. Let's say R is 5%. And the time is 15. I am 15 years old.
Now all this has to be divided by 100.
Now we have to minimize it.
This has to be minimized.
So here you should not divide this 15% by 100.
5% means you have to write only five. The rate is five. Remember 5% means 5.
You must not make any mistake here. Now you have to reduce this.
This has to be solved. So see this will come to 15 5 75. 15 5 75 so this will come to 75 p and divided by 100 divided by 100 so both of these are divisible by 25 p.
25 * 3 = 75 and 25 4 100 so this simple interest comes to us 3p / 4 3p / 4 Now this thing has been given to us in the question, now see here that this is just the amount of interest which is 250 less than the actual amount. 250 less than the actual amount.
So we'll have it like this. Now the equation will look something like this. This brings us to interest 3p by 4. And what is this? This is less than. Less than the actual amount. The actual amount we have is P. What is? P and this is 250 less than that.
This has become our equation. Now we have to find out P from this. Now let us hit both these sides of P with four. If we multiply both sides by four, it will become 3p. This will come to 4p.
Now if you subtract this 200 and 250 by four, it will become 1000. This will come to 1000.
So how to write this now?
See.
This is this 4P and this is 3P. Ok? So if we subtract 3p from this 4p then we will get P, we will get P as the principal amount and if we bring 1000 to this side then the minus symbol will become plus.
So the correct option we have here is option A. The principal amount is ₹1000. Try it now.
Try this.
How do you do this? What should you do with it? Now verify this, if you have time then verify it a little. Find 5% of 1000.
Find 5% of 1000. Then if you give it 51 15, the amount that will come from it will be ₹750. That will not reduce the actual amount by ₹250.
If it is like this then your answer is correct. If this is not the case then your answer will be wrong. Remember friends. Ok? So what do you keep here? You just have to remember this thing.
This formula is simple interest ptr by 100, so can there ever be a burden here? Sometimes we have to know the rate, sometimes we have to know the time, sometimes we have to know the principal amount, sometimes we have to know the simple interest.
If you remember this formula, you can do anything. Ok? I think this is enough for today as the video is getting long. The second question is even more important. This question.
Question number 88.
This 32% of a number exceeds 17% of the same number by 120.
What is the value of the number? Let's leave this for the next video so that we can solve it easily again. Thank you for watching and don't forget to like and share the
