She turns her Hubei memories into a Peking Opera mask.Ajouté :
I generally couldn't decide what to paint because I didn't expect Wubei to be this beautiful. One of my favorites was the three gorges with its dramatic cliffs along the Yangshuo River. At Longjing Stream, it felt like stepping back in time. Doing a wedding performance, we learned that in the past, if a woman liked a man, she would give him an embroidered ball and he had to spend 3 years in the mountains to prove himself. Lucky modern men that this is no longer the case.
But the real highlight for me was trying Chinese opera for the first time.
It's not just about singing. The teacher was very strict, making sure that every movement and facial expression was precise. After practicing for a while, I was really happy when the teacher said I nailed the facial expression. To capture that moment, I painted this opera mask for 5 hours and I love how vibrant this all pastel piece turned out.
