In the Gospel reading from Matthew, Jesus teaches His disciples to pray simply, emphasizing that God already knows our needs before we ask, and that prayer should be a heartfelt offering of trust rather than lengthy recitations. The prayer also emphasizes that Christians pray in communion with one another as one body in the Church, not as isolated individuals, highlighting the unity of the Catholic Church and the importance of caring for others in our prayers.

Heat. Heat.
Kindly kneel for the prayer to Jesus the divine word. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Dear Jesus, divine word made flesh. From the beginning, you already were. Before even time begun, you are Son and with the Father and the Holy Spirit, three persons, one God. But in the fullness of time, you who created man became man yourself. Through God, the Holy Spirit, and Mary, you became Jesus, divine word made flesh. You came to our world to save us and show us how to live and love here so we may live in love hereafter.
Dear Jesus, divine word incarnate.
Please teach us to follow you. May our love for you always be made flesh, not ever lost in word or song alone. In prayer, we come face to face with you like you with the Father and Holy Spirit. And so before you we confidently present our needs in love and service. May we likewise come face to face with our sisters and brothers, the least of them most of all.
For as we treat each other, so do we treat you in your name. We pray now always and in all ways. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

>> A reading from the book of Sierak.
Like a fire, there appeared the prophet Elijah, whose words were as a flaming furnace. Their staff of bread he shattered. In his seal, he reduced them to straits. By the Lord's word, he shut up the heavens. and three times brought down fire.
How awesome are you, Elijah, in your wondrous deeds, whose glory is equal to yours. You brought a dead man back to life from the netherworld by the will of the Lord. You sent kings down to destruction and easily broke their power into pieces. You brought down nobles from their beds of sickness.
You heard threats at Si, at Horeb, avenging judgments.
You anointed kings who should inflict vengeance, and a prophet as your successor.
You were taken aloft in a whirlwind of fire, in a chariot with fiery horses.
You were distined, it is written, in time to come, to put an end to wrath before the day of the Lord. to turn back the hearts of fathers toward their sons and to re-establish the tribes of Jacob.
Blessed is he who shall have seen you and who falls asleep in your friendship, for we live only in our life, but after death our name will not be such. Oh Elijah, enveloped in the whirlwind.
Then Elisha, filled with a two-fold portion of his spirit, wrought many marvels by his mere word. During his lifetime, he feared no one, nor was any man able to intimidate his will.
Nothing was beyond his power. Beneath him, flesh was brought back into life.
In life he performed wonders and after death marvelous deeds.
The word of the Lord.
>> Thanks be to God.
>> Rejoice in the Lord you just.
>> Rejoice in the Lord you just.
>> The Lord is king. Let the earth rejoice.
Let the many isles be glad. Clouds and darkness are round about him. Justice and judgment are the foundation of his throne.
>> Rejoice in the Lord, you just. Fire goes before him and consumes his foes round about. His lightnings illumin the world.
The earth cease and trembles.
>> Rejoice in the Lord, you just.
>> The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.
The heavens proclaim his justice and all peoples see his glory.
>> Rejoice in the Lord, you just.
>> All who worship graven things are put to shame, who glory in the things of not.
All gods are prostrate before him.
>> Rejoice in the Lord, you just. We honor the holy gospel.

[music] [singing] >> The Lord be with you.

>> A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
>> Glory to you, O Lord.
Jesus said to his disciples in praying, "Do not bubble like the parents who think that they will be hurt because of their many words. Do not be like them.
Your father knows what you need before you ask him. This is how you are to pray. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive your others, neither will your father forgive your transgressions.
The Gospel of the Lord.
>> Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.
My dear brothers and sisters, prayer is is something that is very familiar with us because all of us as a Christian or Catholic people, we begin our day with prayer and also we end our day, we close our day with prayer and during our prayers we talk a lot But it is see in the gospel today Jesus after hearing a request from his disciple he teach them the way to pray that is we call our father. So is what is the key points from the gospel today that we can learn two things from the gospel today. The first one when you pray is don't need no need to talk a lot. And so that's why at the beginning you see Jesus said that you don't know you don't need to to talk a lot to talkative and like the parents they taught us when they speak as much as possible they will receive the same amount but no Jesus said that when you pray just follow this way because it's when you pray your father in the heaven they know what you need.
And then the way you pray, you see you you give yourself, you offer yourself, you trust and trust yourself, your life to our father. That's the way when we pray, we don't need to talk a lot. So see, I think is Filipino is Philippines, they say we are affected by the American. So that's why usually we don't pray so much last long. It's like the order especially in Vietnam. If you go to Vietnam is see I think here is one day there for tourist traveling. But if you join the mass in Vietnam, we will see that is Vietnamese they pray a lot.
Before the mass they pray it's very long and after the mass also.
Uh but sometime we talk a lot but we don't focus on the the main point. is when you study at school and you write a paper. The problem for many student now is they write a lot of works but the one that's professor them look he looking for that is the main point sometime you write many sentences but nothing no information in that sentence in this sentence so this is useless so it could be happen in our prayer we talk a lot but this is sometime is You see when you pray to God but you don't you don't pray what you need but you you share with God the story of the other people is not the way we pray we pray with God and just simple and sometime we just sitting in silence with God that's the way you pray because you see see when we pray we calls our father. This is simple and very similar to the way that is when your kids your children approach to you.
They don't need to talk so much. They just ask you father and mother could you give me this one that's enough because you are the one know everything in his life.
The second point is we can learn from the gospel today that is when we pray we pray in communion is not in individual. So during our prayer we can see that we we we cannot find any words like you and I you and me. No, it's always our us we so it mean is when we pray we are the one in the in the church the one body in our church Catholic church we in communion when we pray we are in communion with with the heaven the sense our mama Mary and the other people around the world. So that's why we are the one. We are not separated in prayer.
Just in our prayer we can see the unity of the Catholic Church is very clearly.
So we are invited that's is when we pray we we are not as God's fall for ourself for our needs but we are invited to think of other people to care for other people to think about the other one the holy Catholic just around the world we are the one we are not separated from each other we live in the Catholic church as a parts of the body. So that's why all of us we are the one we are brothers and sisters in Christ. So may God help us to live our life as the disciple of Jesus who are always in relation relation with to the other people relate to other in the holy Catholic church. The unity of the body of the church Please be stand.
Christ has told us that we can call God our father. So with firm hope we bring our petitions before him. Lord hear our prayer.
>> Lord hear our prayer. that the church throughout the world may always express a deep trust in the coming of the father's kingdom of love, justice, and peace.

>> It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy father, almighty and eternal God. For in goodness you created this man. And when he was justly condemned, in mercy you redeemed him. through Christ our Lord.
Through him the angels praise your majesty. Dominions adore and powers tremble before you. Heaven and the virtues of heaven and the blessed seraphim worship together with exaltation. May our voices we pray join with theirs in humble praise as we acclaim.
Holy, holy, holy [music] Lord God of [singing] host.
Heaven and earth are full are [singing and music] full of your gloryy.
Hosana.
Hosana.
[music] Hosana [singing] in the highest.
Blessed is [music] he who comes.
[singing] Who comes in the name of the Lord.
[music] Hosana.
Hosana.
Hosana in [music and singing] the highest.
You are indeed holy, O Lord, the f of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts we pray by sending down your spirits upon them like the dwfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread and giving thanks, broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take this all of you and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples saying, "Take this all of you and drink from it. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
The mystery of faith.
When [music] we eat this bread [singing] and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, [music] O Lord, until you [singing] come again.
Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember Lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity. Together with Leo our pope and alias our bishop and all the clergy.
Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the light of your face. have mercy on us all. We pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary, mother of God, with the blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coairs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son Jesus Christ.
Through him and with him and in him, O God, almighty father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
>> Amen.
>> At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray.
>> Our Father, who art in heaven, be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
