Tinubu Receives Benin’s New President Wadagni In Lagos

[00:00:01]President Ba Tinu received the newly inaugurated president of the Republic of Benin. Rammo arrived in Lagos and was welcomed at Smutah Muhammad International Airport by Lagos state governor Babajulu. He then proceeded to meet President Tinu at the presidential residence in Iikoy. The two leaders held a private closed door meeting that lasted about 30 minutes. The talk comes less than a week after Wagdaini was sworn in as president of Benin following his victory in the April 12th, 2026 election and his official assumption of office on May 24th, 2026. President Tunibu had earlier sent Vice President Kashima to represent Nigeria at Wagdani's inauguration. Bini Republic which shares a border with Nigeria is a key partner in regional cooperation trade and security across West Africa.
