Something's Wrong In This Basement

[00:00:05]It's quiet. You kind of come to come around and cut back.

[00:00:09]Um, I think it's a cul-de-sac down there and a cul-de-sac down here.

[00:00:13]Uh, the roof needs to be replaced.

[00:00:17]Uh, something else I noticed is this is easy to fix. Just have concrete lifter people come out and pop that up so that it's straight across there, but it is it's dropped a good 2 3 in there.

[00:00:37]It's a newer house. Oh, yeah, so we're missing a piece of brick there.

[00:00:46]See how the dirt comes up and touches the You need that dirt to not come up and touch the uh, the siding. So, that needs to be graded down a little bit.

[00:01:13]The flooring in here is nice. It smells weird, which I think it smells coming from the basement.

[00:01:31]Um, and that really needs to be uh, the driveway needs to be fixed.

[00:01:59]Um, That uh electrical panel needs to be evaluated to make sure it's good enough.

[00:02:16]Uh And then uh this back door needs to be either replaced or at least painted.

[00:02:39]Get rid of a problematic tree there.

[00:02:42]And you'll see the roof in the back is not too great.

[00:02:50]Yeah, so you need to figure out something here because what's happening is water is is raining down and then some of it is going in there.

[00:03:03]You've got a looks like a piece of carpet there. That's not good.

[00:03:08]But your your uh ground needs to be um graded away from the house.

[00:03:21]At least over here. I mean, even if it's pooling in the in the yard out here.

[00:03:25]It needs to be not by the house.

[00:03:28]And for whatever reason when this house was built, they didn't make the foundation tall enough.

[00:03:36]It's a little bit better over here, but you still have places where water runs off and which is and leads us to um Also, this is not good.

[00:03:51]Cuz that doesn't come up high enough and then you have this concrete pad here.

[00:03:55]You may end up having to rip out this concrete pad to fix some of the issues in the basement.

[00:04:09]And uh So, this doesn't look too bad. You have a sump pump in here, but the problem with this is yes, there's a sump pump in here.

[00:04:21]But that only helps if the water leaks in here. If the water leaks in here unless it happens to run over that way or if the water leaks in here which I'm thinking this is the hot water heater is is leaking, that's why there's water here.

[00:04:47]Yeah, the dehumidifier dehumidifier helps, but if you come over here there's definitely darkness or you know, it looks like there's been there is a leak or there's been a leak there.

[00:05:15]There's also mold right there on the wall.

[00:05:21]Um oh, and I missed this before.

[00:05:24]Uh that's a mushroom.

[00:05:30]There's also evidence of mushrooms and water issues there.

[00:05:36]There's which you can't really see very well, but there's there's discoloration mold there's issues there.

[00:05:56]And this was the first spot that I actually noticed that these mushrooms or fungus fungi Um and then that's not it.

[00:06:26]Believe it was Yeah, so they updated and that is maybe not been been done super recently, but this has been updated.

[00:06:38]And I think somebody tried to cover that up, but it continued.

[00:06:42]Um And uh and so there's that and that's definitely a leak from the roof.

[00:06:50]And there may be other leaks and issues in here. I don't know.

[00:06:56]But you know, I don't remember what the price is, but it's definitely too high given the issues with mold and whatnot in the basement. Also in that bathroom.

[00:07:17]Uh would you buy this place for the right price and take it on and get rid of the mold and the issues?

[00:07:28]I mean, it's you know, it's salvageable.

[00:07:31]There's a lot to like here.

[00:07:33]But yeah.

[00:07:38]Uh any body who he to buy this is going to have an inspection done and they're going to see the major issues in the basement with uh whatever wherever the water's coming from and seeping through the walls or some it's because of the backyard or something's wrong.

[00:08:06]Um yeah, it's kind of it's kind of sad because you walk around up here and it looks I mean, it's not as nice as some of the other houses I looked at today, but it's pretty decent.

[00:08:18]And then you get downstairs and you're like, what did what were you people thinking? Why would you even put it on the market with literally fungus growing in the basement.
