A flyover interchange is a comprehensive urban infrastructure system designed to separate and redistribute traffic from multiple strategic directions, featuring elevated lanes, underpass movements, U-turn channels, service roads, and integrated drainage, which differs fundamentally from simple bridges that only provide highway crossings or terrain passages.

Inside Benin City’s Biggest Flyover Project , Ramat Park Flyover Latest Update May 2026Added:
Take a look at this traffic from above.
Today is market day here at Ramance Park, Benin City. And from our drone view, you can clearly see the reality Bin City has battled with for years.
Endless congestion, slowmoving vehicles, commercial buses fighting for space and thousands of people trying to pass through one of the busiest junction in the city.
Now imagine the same movement flowing freely above this chaos. Imagine vehicles headed towards the benin as our expressway moving very seamlessly without getting trapped in this gridlock.
That is exactly why the Ram park flyover is becoming one of the most important infrastructure projects here in Penins city today.
Just a few months ago, many people doubted whether this project could truly begin to look this complete within such a short period of time. But today, standing here at Romance Park flyover in Venice City, the transformation is becoming very impossible to ignore. The structures are now taking full shape.
The interchange is becoming very clear and what used to be one of the busiest and most poetic traffic junction in Benin city is gradually turning into one of the most modern road infrastructures in southern Nigeria.
But before we continue, there is something very important I need to clarify because many people mentioned it in my last video.
A lot of viewers said this is not the first flyover in Benin city because there are already bridges at the Benin bypass and the Aushi Bypass.
Now this is where many people confuse a bridge with a major urban flyover interchange.
Yes, Ben city already has bridges and smaller elevated road structures around some bypass sections, but those structures were mainly designed for highway crossing, terrain passages or limited traffic movement. They are not full flyover interchange.
What is rising here at Raman's Park is something entirely different. This is not just a bridge crossing over a road.
This is a full urban flyover interchange designed to separate and redistribute traffic coming from multi- strategic directions within the city. So here at Roman's Park, vehicles heading towards the Benin Asaba expressway, Benin Aushi road in the city center are all being dist redistributed through a careful engineered interchange system involving elevated lanes, underpass movements, U-turn channels, service road and drainage integration.
This is why many people consider this to be Ben city's first major modern urban flyover interchange. And honestly, when you look at the scale of this project compared to the smaller bypass bridge structures, the different becomes very obvious.
So if this is your first time joining us, you're highly welcome. So on this channel, we talk places, infrastructure projects in Benin city, street tours, road tours, and everything unfiltered in Benin city and beyond. So, if this the kind of content you like watching, please subscribe to the channel and turn on your bell notifications so you won't miss out on any of our updates. So, now let's continue the tour. It has been over 2 months since my last visit to this project, but within that short time, a lot has changed. The pace of work here is becoming increasingly impressive.
When we first started uh documenting this project, this fly over, we saw the early foundation stage, the uh massive pillar works, beam launching and eventually the deck constructions.
At one point, parapet installation was also done, which we documented on this channel. Drainage work was still ongoing making many people question whether this project could realistically meet the expected timeline which is June. So the good news is that today the project has entirely entered a complete different phase for the first time. The beauty of this flyover is becoming visible. There is no longer just about concrete and engineering.
The entire structure is gradually becoming a landmark project and a center of attraction within Benin city. Once completed, this could easily become one of the most beautiful flyover in southern Nigeria. But beyond this beauty, the importance of this project is so massive. Ramance Park remains one of the busiest transport corridors in Benin city linking traffic from the city center to the Benin Asawa expressway and the Benin Aushi road. For years, this axis has struggled under serious traffic pressure especially during the peak hours. So now this flyover is designed to solve that challenges. Vehicle heading towards the Beninina Saba corridor will move directly over the flyover. While traffic heading towards the Aushi axis and other connecting route, we utilize the underpass and the connecting road network beneath the structure. So one of the most interesting parts of this design is the U-turn section beneath the flyover.
Vehicle approaching from the expressway can either continue towards this city center connecting towards Aushi road or make a control U-turn movement without distracting traffic flow. So this is what makes this project more than just a bridge. It is a complete traffic redistribution system carefully designed for a growing urban city like Benin. So work here is also progressing rapidly on the approach road because without proper complete access road even the best driver cannot function effectively.
Beyond traffic management this project is also addressing a major environmental challenges that has affected this area for years which is the flooding and erosion. One of the most significant engineering components currently under construction is the bus convent atlas system.
Multiple drainage channels around this interchange has been integrated into this network. This means that Ramance Park flyover project is not only solving transportation problems but also contributing to the long-term flood control and environmental management around this corridor.
Looking at the pace of work now, it is clear that this project has entered its final and most transformative phase. The structure is nearly complete. Finishing works are becoming more visible and the entire area is beginning to reflect what modern modern urban infrastructure can look like in Benin city. For many residents, this project represents more than just a flyover. It is symbolized growth, modernization and a new direction for urban development in Ado state. As construction continues, one thing is becoming increasingly clear.
The Moram Park flyover is set to become one of the definite and define infrastructures landmarks in southern Nigeria.
So with that being said, let me take you all back to where this journey started so you can fully understand the road network, the traffic flow and how all these major routes connect into this very important junction. From there you will still see why this project is so significant to transportation in Benin city. So thank you all for joining me on this trip.
