What judges consider beyond the charges.

[00:00:00]This isn't just about facts. A lot of times people think it's all about the charges. Somebody has something serious, a felony case where they've been accused of doing something with somebody they wasn't supposed to do. Or maybe it's just a DWI. They're going to consider a bunch of different factors. Have you been in trouble before? That's going to be huge. These things matter. What about your family? Do you have a good family?

[00:00:23]Not that they're going to be checking your lineage, but they're going to see do you have a support group in case you need it. Not everybody has a support group and they want to know these things. [music] They're going to take all of this into effect in two different spaces. Space number one is when it's dealing with bonds or bails. When they're giving you conditions, they're trying [music] to see this is the beginning of the case. Number two, and this is where it's most important. If you end up taking a deal or if you end up getting convicted, they're going to take all of this into account when they're doing the sentencing.
