[00:00:00]So, the Wings just cooked the New York Liberty in the second half there. Um, and it was 99% of it easy, but 99% of it easy. Paige shot a lot of free throws. I'm going to be very clear. She shot a lot of free throws. And look, I don't think this is a um this is one of those things where I'm not going to say Paige had a bad game. I know Paige had a pretty okay game. Ari missed a lot of shots. I still think she hit some big ones, especially early on. Especially early on in that game, this game was won by Easy Foot. It's as simple as that.

[00:00:38]The game was won by a 24 points, six of 12 from three. Not only that, three steals and three timely steals.

[00:00:46]The Liberty did everything they could to lose this game. Um like they had it back to seven I think at one stage or was it nine and they missed two layups.

[00:01:04]Um and Stewie tried to double double pump literally tried to um jump up and like double clutch a put back alleyoop.

[00:01:16]It made no sense. It made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

[00:01:29]It is one of these things where like this team needs, if you're at Liberty, they need Feebish. They need Feebish back bad. Like Aier, I thought she was okay. She looked all right. Sabrina looked great in the first half.

[00:01:46]absolutely like unplayably bad in the second half. Su scores buckets, but like if you watch Santu play, you're like she's the worst player I've ever seen.

[00:01:57]Like you watch Satu and you're like she's legitimately terrible and she have 20 points. Like she might be the most empty stats player ever. Genuinely, she might be the most empty stats player ever. Um but still, I do think they're still my championship favorites. with the Liberty going to three and three and if it was like hilariously enough like if it wasn't for the choke from the Phoenix Mercury like and that was a choke they were up like 10 points two minutes ago um that was an absolute joke if it wasn't for that top of the standings would be the Indiana Fever Minnesota Links Aces and Dream tied the Fever would technically be the top of the standings everybody is losing games the Liberty Look, Feebish is kind of their glue and as well as that no one has a clue what's going on bene Hamilton. Like obviously there's personal reasons but after the um basically um after the uh entire thing with Dana Bonner, people just think that okay um like does personal mean that they want they're just dipping and they're quitting on the team. So, everyone's just kind of assuming that and don't really think that's a fair assumption to make, but um they don't play any defense. The Liberty, that being said, the Wings did what they need to do, especially a whack. I have to say as well, like Alana Smith might be like she might be one of the worst players in the league.

[00:03:43]Not only like she she is the worst contract in the league. Like we understand that. We absolutely understand that. Like um we understand that Alana Smith's bad.

[00:03:55]Like it was a terrible contract. The problem is is that I don't think any one of us thought that there was ever going to be a stage where Alana Smith was going to be a terrible player. Like in the last four games combined, she has played nine second half minutes.

[00:04:12]Alena Smith has 29 points and 20 fouls in the season and she forgot how to play basketball.

[00:04:19]Like it's concerning she forgot how to play basketball. But overall the Wings with a massive win here pretty much a lot of it from Ay who was brilliant. Who was absolutely brilliant on both ends of the floor. Like look A's hands are so quick. They are so quick. So I don't understand why players keep trying to go through afoot.

[00:04:40]Like I don't understand why people are trying to go through a foot. Um the problem is that um players like you can go around a foot, you can't go through. Her hands are so quick. Um but she is still a uh an absolutely fantastic fantastic defender not in space. I still think as time goes on, teams need to start running the pick and roll more against Dallas because both Ay and like both Azy and uh Paige just die on screens.

[00:05:17]Like if you um if you run a pick and roll, they don't go under, they don't refuse, they just die on the screen. So that kind of is one of the issues. But if you're just going to tell Easy Foot to guard in isolation, not even guard in space, not even um guard guard in space to make her just guard in a straight line, she's going to be a good defender. And definitely like like I've called Paige Beckers and Caitlyn Clark some depending on how they feel like it's somewhere between like a a four out of 10 and a 5.5 out of 10 defender. Afoot has walked into the league um as a 6.5 out of 10 defender. And that's impressive. That is impressive because if her foot speed like even if her foot speed doesn't come with experience with experience she's going to be able to read the game better and she's already a quite smart defender for her age for like for her experience level and she could become a very good defender. Um look I think the Indian or the Dallas wings sorry need to readjust their roster.

[00:06:20]Um short term it still looks incredibly dumb. like Olivia Miles look like the best player on the floor is looking like Olivia Miles is a I'm not going to say a Darkhorse MVP candidate, but she's a a darkhorse old WNBA candidate is Olivia Miles. But um like it will probably still be like oh yeah why the hell did we pick her type thing like I don't think we're going to be seeing in a reddraft in 5 years a foot being seen as the best player in this draft or anything but at least we all said a foot like if she can just be this lowmaintenance sniper who if you give her an inch of space is going to hit everything and can be a plus defender with five talks today. Like that's a player that not a player you want to use a number one pick on, but a really good player. And look, if you're getting a really good player, you can always use that argument down the line. You can always use the argument of look, we got we wanted to make sure we got a good player. We weren't fully bought into Olivia Miles.

[00:07:25]We weren't fully bought into um AA. And you can say, look, we were fully bought into we knew a foot was going to be comp um a good player. problem is obviously that um there are like the Liberty didn't go to punish out the three and the thing as well is that Awak should be the starting center. Jess Shepard super super worth every bit of that $1 million to paying her. Awak should be starting over Atlanta Smith.

[00:07:54]Alana Smith should not be starting. I get it they're paying her a max but like she should not be starting. But again a exceptional game. This is her breakout game. like this is not the floor. So people like oh this needs to be no if a foot on the year averages 12 points per game. That's a good year for her. Like this 24 point game probably brings her up to 12.

[00:08:12]So in her first five games 8.4 had 40 points per game. So now she is six point six.

[00:08:23]Yeah. And it probably puts her 11 points per game maybe.

[00:08:27]Um and that's kind of the floor. That's what you expect of her. About 11 points per game. 11 points per game on solid shooting splits because she doesn't bring much on the offensive end other than her scoring. So if she can give you an efficient 11 points per game and then in a year you trade her and gives you enough this season, like if goes and gives you 17 points, if you can get her average up to 17 points per game, she gives you enough that a team might be willing to trade for her. The problem is is that it's going to be very tough to get off that Lana Smith contract. Like a three-year max is be really tough to get off that contract. And she's genuinely terrible. Like not just a bad contract, she's just terrible.
