[00:00:18]The French resistance were well aware of this and they also knew that it took 1,665 total steps to get from the bottom of the Eiffel Tower to the top if the elevators weren't working. So, what did they do as their final act of defiance before having to go underground to continue fighting the Nazis with covert resistance?

[00:00:40]They cut the cables to the elevators, forcing Hitler to have to climb all those stairs if he wanted to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
