The French Resistance cleverly prevented Hitler from reaching the top of the Eiffel Tower by cutting the elevator cables, forcing him to climb 1,665 stairs—a task he was too lazy to complete—thereby denying the Nazis a symbolic victory after Paris fell in 1940.

Why Hitler Never Reached the Top of the Eiffel Tower. #shorts #ww2 #historyAñadido:
Why did Hitler never make it to the top of the Eiffel Tower? On June 14th, 1940, Paris fell to the Nazis and Hitler wanted to raise the swastika on top of the Eiffel Tower, but there was just one problem. Hitler was notoriously lazy and hated physical exertion of any kind.
The French resistance were well aware of this and they also knew that it took 1,665 total steps to get from the bottom of the Eiffel Tower to the top if the elevators weren't working. So, what did they do as their final act of defiance before having to go underground to continue fighting the Nazis with covert resistance?
They cut the cables to the elevators, forcing Hitler to have to climb all those stairs if he wanted to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
And that is why history has left us with this picture of Hitler standing in front of the Eiffel Tower because he was never going to climb all those stairs.
