I Invented the Aerial Proximity Mine and It's a Dangerously Terrible IdeaAdded:
Welcome back to the channel and today I want to try to create the sea mine version of air mines for planes. So sea mines are to boats and submarines as what I'm going to build. Uh and the reason why I got this gun shooting automatically here is cuz I wanted to test the feasibility. The main thing is these flat cannons. I'm going to create a flack mine, an aerial flack mine that is going to automatically shoot any planes that get honestly pretty far away and not even that. You don't even have to get that close. Like the proximity aspect of it, it's going to be pretty long range. But um the thing I needed to test first was that do the flat cannons autolock onto a target if there is not a seat or a pilot of the um vehicle or of the flat cannon? And what I found out is you may notice the flat cannon there. Uh when I get within range of it, you can see it definitely it definitely locks on. Um and there I go. I am exploded.
Much like a sea mine, which kind of floats on the water over here, uh deals damage once something gets close enough.
Just like that. Uh these things I are going to have flat cannons facing in all directions. So, it should have the aesthetic of a like a sea mine as well, but it is going to be constantly firing.
Uh, cuz there's no real way. Well, actually, there could be a way to detect proximity, but that would require that the other creation has senders and receivers on it and all that stuff, but I'm just going to have it be automatically shooting in every single direction. Uh, and then once a plane gets close enough, the auto lock will zero in that fire onto the plane itself.
So, let's start building the sea mine.
Um, things that it needs to be able to do is float at certain altitudes and stay up in the air on its own. Here's something I was thinking about, too. The flat cannons have a lot of recoil and they are all going to be firing pretty much at all times. So, I think as long as I build this thing symmetrically, that should all cancel out and not send us flying across the map or send the mines flying across the map, which honestly flying across the map isn't a bad thing either, but uh we're supposed to be the ones flying across the map and then getting eventually shot down by autonomous flack mines. All right, how many flat cannons should we be shooting for? We're going to be using the bigger ones cuz they have uh the most fire rate. So, I'm thinking if we want enough space, we're going to have to have we're going to have to make our center kind of meat and potatoes a little bit bigger here. Not just like a single block, but threedimensional series of blocks like this. And then these will be our base solid attachment points cuz then we're going to have to angle some attachments.
The tough part is always going to be the the corner pieces. When it comes to a sphere, I know spheres shouldn't have corners, but when you're building on a build grid that forces 90°, you got corners in your spheres. Okay? In particular, this this area right here coming straight out from this corner and having it look right is going to be challenging. All right. So, initially I was thinking having like triple sets.
So, we instead of dividing this in half and having one sticking up 45°, I was wondering if we would have two here. So, we would essentially divide each 90° section into thirds instead of quarter or instead of halves. But with the amount of auto aim flexibility that these have, I think just a 45° one is going to cover plent like I think that they can cover that much. Actually, will these auto aim at me if I spawn something in? Hold on. Let me take away the bottom one so it can um balance real quick. How much?
Whoa. Hold on.
Is that a thing? Did you see it? It like moved itself. Does it look like that could work? Yeah. If we have one that's aiming 45° in between those two, I think that's going to cover that area cuz that looks like a decent amount of range there for auto aim. But it seemed like the Wait, did I touch Am I touching it? Was that me? I didn't think I was touching it. What I was curious about is if the actual um muzzle of the gun moving during the auto aim was causing it to move, but I don't know. I'm having trouble replicating it, and that's not the point of this video. All right. Now, we need this thing to rotate uh 45°. How does that look? It doesn't look even.
How do we make it look e even? Maybe I put this up by a block. That looks more even. I think that looks much better.
What is that trying to aim at? Do you see just the one gun is shaking? What you looking at? What do you see? He's like, there's something up there and it's scary. It shivers me timbers. You ever seen a gun's timbers get shivered?
All right, we got one axis done. That looks pretty cool. This is going to be a pretty cool looking creation. Uh, we're also we're going to have to have it go up to a certain altitude. And I think we have to have it wait to start firing until it reaches a target altitude because if we just have it start firing at all times, it's going to blow itself up on the ground when we spawn it in.
All right. I believe I just filled in the other axis, but it is not hooked up to the norate yet. All right. So, steering hinge. Steering hinge. Steering hinge. Steering hinge. There we go.
That's honestly looking pretty good. Oh, there is a there is another axis that I'm missing. And one of those is misaligned. Hold on. How did that happen? All right. So, now we need this axis. There's a lot more than I was expecting, you know. Oh, that's actually I don't think we have to do that with the 45° thing that we've done. I don't think we got to do those corners. I think the corners are pretty much covered. This looks great. Should this be uh What color should it be? Should be black. black maybe with like red red accents like that. Oh yeah, this is great. Here, let's spawn in a vehicle and just see what it looks like when it's auto aiming. Oh wow, we got three on me.

Okay. Yeah, look at that. Like Oh.
Oh. Oh, it's interesting to watch. It seems like almost at any one time there's usually three guns aiming at me. Look at that. It's another three. That is so cool. Oh, that is so cool to watch. Okay, hold on. Can I do this? I kind of just want to watch it independently while I try to just fly this thing around.
That's pretty cool. I have no idea where my my my thing is anymore, but you can kind of tell it's it kind of gives a little bit of an indicator of where exactly I am. Oh, I've blown up. All right, this turned out to be pretty cool. It we haven't even activated it yet, and it's already cool. Okay, so now it has to float. I don't know how how heavy are 12 kg each. How many Oh, this is actually going to be difficult. Where do I put the gimbal jets? cuz the gimbal jets only attach from two sides. I was going to I thought I was going to replace some of these blocks with gimbals and just connect straight out, but then these attachment points are no longer going to be attached. And every single block has other cannons dependent on it. So, I guess the question is, can I slap some gimbals into like here and have it not affect this?
Okay, the collisions aren't colliding there, so that's good. All right, I think we can get away with that. Oh, no.
Altitude, altitude, altitude, altitude.
H. What I'm trying to figure out, do we need a gimbal or a gyro stabilizer?
Because in order to have this thing float really stable, really level, we need a speed sensor. Speed sensors are directionally oriented. They are dependent on the direction that they are facing. So, if this thing is tumbling through the air at all, the angle of the speed sensor is not going to be consistent. We need the speed sensor to be detecting downwards um speed at all times in order to uh regulate its altitude. I guess one thing we could potentially do is just have gimbals on one side of it, so they're above the center of mass. That should keep it oriented. I don't know then how recoil is going to affect it. Recoil could give us some twisty turns. All right, let's start adding some logic in here. We need an altitude sensor so we can determine how high we want it to be.
Let's uh set it to 200 m for now. So now what I guess we want is to trigger the gimbal jets if we are below that. So let's start with two. Oh, wait, wait, wait. I didn't set it to trigger below yet. Trigger below.
All right, so that's clearly not enough.
I'm just trying to see what is enough.
How much do we need? I think we only have four right now, right?
Well, four is not enough. Okay, so we need to add more. We don't have a lot of space to add more. So, let's add one right here. We can actually swap the places of these to keep it more in line or above the center of mass.
Oh, wait a minute. That's four there.
For some reason, I thought I hooked up the other two, but they weren't hooked up. Yeah, now it's four. So, now I can do one, two, here. Now, oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Okay, that's good. It also seems to be relatively or like keeping itself oriented, which is perfect. Uh, the problem is I am trying to repair it. It keeps spawning behind me.
Come back. There we go. Now, we need speed sensor. So, let's go ahead and take this. Place a speed sensor in here.
All right. So now if the speed sensor detects any downwards momentum, let's just say like one kilometer an hour. So it'll go back down to the 200 once it goes above it. It is then going to trigger 1 2 3 4 5 6. So now it should not be able to come back down. All right. So now we need the guns to trigger once it reaches the designated altitude. So we should give it a buffer.
So we set it right now. We're setting it to 200 m. So, we're going to need another altitude sensor that'll probably be at like 190, just a little bit below, so it starts triggering before it gets to that point cuz there might be a little bit of like a a bobbing around that point and we don't want it to keep turning off when it bobs slightly below, but there shouldn't be with a speed sensor thing, but just in case, just foolproofing it. All right, so another altitude sensor will go here and that'll be for like 190 right now. And then when this reaches 190, it is going to trigger every flat cannon to constantly fire.
And then if any plane gets close to this thing, I think these things are like 400 or 500 meter uh range, they should uh be not having a bad time. All right, let's save this thing so we don't lose it forever. And we will send it up.
Oh, we got another one up there. And actually, oh, they're going to destroy each other.
Oh no. Are they? Yeah, they're I can only have one of them every like 500 meters or so. That looks pretty cool though.
Are they not locking on to It's spinning a little bit. I guess they are going to spin a little bit, huh? What's happening here?
Are they aiming at each other? I mean, they kind of should be. That one's definitely getting destroyed. Okay, the spinning is a problem. It's It's spinning more and more and more because the thing is when they auto aim they turn they they angle themselves not perfectly uh in line with the center. So it it's going to keep imparting momentum. Ah I jump scared myself here. Let's actually let's go up to it. Let's see if we can see what is happening here. Is it even staying upright? I don't even think it's staying upright. No, it is. Where's the altitude sensor? We're at 219.
Oh, you can see it's going back down a little bit.
Huh. It would be really hard to fit a gyro stabilizer in this thing.
This thing has a lot more flaws than I was Oh, look at the water. Oh, that's kind of cool. Wa! We're doing so much damage. Like, literally, look at the splash damage. Literal splash damage. I didn't realize how bad of a creation this would be if it was real. See, it would be nice if um there was a way to detect auto aim lock. If a one of the conditions of a weapon that has auto aim was locking on and then it we could trigger it to fire only if it was in a locked on state cuz then only the gun that was locking locking on would be firing. In order for this to autolock on and fire at something, I just kind of have to have it firing at all times.
Another potential solution to do this, which is over my head right now, is um using RC remote senders and receivers.
We could have it detect the position of something else, and when it gets within range, then it fires everything, but it's still going to be firing everything in all directions, including the one that's locking. But yeah, I think um a lock on condition would be very useful for some weapons. So, my goal now is to attempt to fit a gyro stabilizer in this thing without losing all the connections like I just did just now. So, let me stick this back in here. And then we take a gyro stabilizer and place it right there. Now, the only other thing I want, which I think I can fit exactly right there, is I want a maximum strength steering gyro, cuz this will dampen rotational forces. All right, so now that should be a much more stable creation. Hold on. Let's um delete to delete all the other creations.
Ah, jump scaring myself for some reason. All right. It's not locking on anything right now, so it is going to stay pretty stable. I feel like it also does seem like it is going to move pretty consistently across the sky, which I guess is fine. All right, that thing should technically be fully functional right now. Looks pretty cool. All right, where is it? It's right there. I'm going to spawn in my um missile.
Whoa.
Oh, is it already locked on me?
I honestly don't know the range.
Oh my goodness. It is locking on me.
Okay, it's not doing as well as I expected.
All right. Well, I'm dead now. So, there is that. That thing does have explosive dynamite on it, though. I don't think there's a way to have it not shoot other mines, cuz there's nothing I can do with the auto aim on this. The only thing I could reasonably do is set teams, but I'm not even in like a multiplayer server, so there are no teams. I am the only team. So, I guess I would just have to make sure that they're not within a certain distance of each other.
Otherwise, they're just going to shoot each other. These ones I feel like are far enough away now. All right. So, now if I get wa Look at how the distance is crazy on these. Where is this one even?
Oh, there it is. And then there's one.
Wa, look at the sky.
Okay, so now I'm curious if I go over here where they're not shooting me anymore and then I trans do my transform slot.
Now I've just dropped that off. And if I transform back Oh, it takes it with me.
All right, so do transform slot like that. Can I enter build mode here? I can't enter build mode here. I just want to put more in the sky. I can't even see them anymore. All right, there's that one there. Somewhere over in that direction. I thought there was another one. I cannot I think it's far enough that I can't actually see it. I think I just see the explosions from it. Where's the one that I just dropped off? There it is. Yeah, it's moving. You can see it pulse.
You don't see all the flashes, but you see the pulsing. That's pretty cool. All right. I feel like I can spawn in another one here. Let's just do that.
Goodbye. Oh, you're too close to the ground. All right, that's fine. All right, let's go fly away. All right, and then we're here and we transition.
Wow, look at the sky.
All right, we got to just spawn in a flying vehicle. I want I want like a relatively slow flying vehicle. We've got explosions everywhere. We have riddled the sky. Oh, this plane's not going to last. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
A quick repair.
All right, I'm just going to fly up into the sky. Oh, look over there. There must be one over here somewhere, right?
Where's the actual mine? It's that we see all these black clouds, but I don't see the source. Where's the source of all these? Actually, though, where are these ones coming from? I feel like I'm flying into the eye of the storm where I'm like, uh uh uh. Where is it coming from? Oh, there it is. Wow, that was crazy that I couldn't even see it. Let me see if I can take it out. I have guns on this thing.
This is a fun mission actually. Take out the mines. Oh, and I am dead. I Okay, this is my mission. Can I take out a mine? I have This is not the best vehicle. I have like the worst gun and I am extremely fragile. All right, where did it go? There it is. It's in the middle of the sun. That's why I couldn't see it. Yeah, me versus all these flag cannons, I stand no chance. Okay, here we go.
I also can't even lock on nearly as quickly. Uh, yep. I did not survive that approach.
Okay, we're like off the map right now, though. Where's Hold on. Let me get Leave me alone. Repair. All right, there's I see land. Let's go this way.
Let's go after a different one. This one's too far off the map. It's so crazy seeing just all of the black splotches just appearing out of thin air everywhere. Knowing that somewhere hundreds of meters away is an aerial mine. Pro aerial proximity mine. Isn't that so ominous? Just seeing all that ahead of you, knowing that somewhere within that cloud of black dots, you're going to get targeted. Oh, I I'm hearing the explosions now. I don't see them. I don't see Ah, where is it? I This is crazy how hard it is to spot it. Is that it down there? Is that actually one? I think that's one there. Wow. I thought it was going to be way higher. Okay.
Die.
Okay. I think I did some good dam. Oh, and I'm dead. All right. This is the one I shot. I think it's smoking. All right.
Here we go. We're back in action. Oh, it's spinning fast. I think that's actually hurting it, too. Oh, I actually survived a pass. All right. And that thing is smoking hard. I actually might be able to take this one out.
Come on. Oh. Oh my good. I can't believe it's not hitting me right now. I think it's spinning too fast for the guns to get a good lock. I don't know if I took out some of its like I may have taken out its gyro.
Oh no, it got me. All right, repair and recover. All right, mine uh two me zero.
All right, come on. Get back and lock on. There it is.
I feel like this has to be the pass, right? No, it's really damaged and it uh functionality has definitely been worsened. It's still looks like it's fully intact for the most part. Oh. Oh, did I get something?
All right, I need my tail. I got to repair. All right, mine three. Me zero.
But it's getting it is on fire. That mine is on fire. All right, I'm coming back in.
This has to be the past now, right? All right, things are We finally took off a gun. All right, it did not take us out that time. We survived a pass. All right, here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Come on.

Uh, mine four me zero. It took off another tail. We need to take out those gimbal jets. Okay, come on.
Oh, it is still very much mostly intact.
That was a good hit. We took out another gun. It is definitely not doing nearly as much damage. We're able to get more passes before it takes us out.
That was a good pass, too. Another gun down. It is damage. I think one more pass it might actually take us out again. All right, here we go.
Oh, that was even a better pass. All right, mine five. Me still zero. It is still up in the air and it's still functional. Granted, it has like 50 power cores worth of weaponry and I have what, two? Oh, it's going up now. I think we took out the altitude sensor.
This thing actually might be done.
All right. Um, it's taking me at what, six times now. And it's just ascending.
It is leave. It's retreating. It's leaving the battlefield.
There we Oh, okay. Now it's just going even faster. The gimbals are on still.
Apparently, that part, the the altitude sensor that is going into the gimbals is still functional, but everything else has been taken out. All right. Well, I'm going to say that that's a victory on that one. Uh, and by victory, I mean overwhelming defeat. And, uh, we just kept going until we killed it. All right. Somewhere there's two more. I actually don't even see the explosions.
They may have gone off the map at this point cuz I think I let one off over here and there was definitely one over there but I don't see any of them anymore. Oh, I hear Wait, I can hear it.

We just passed it. All right. That's obviously an audio glitch cuz I'm like there's no way I'm hearing the gunfire and not seeing black clouds of smoke everywhere. I have like an old school like really old school helicopter here, but it has rocket launchers and I feel like that could be very very effective. But we're going to be so slow that it's just going to tear us apart. I think I think if we can get one shot though, this is going to work. This is prejyro. I built this helicopter prejyro. Where is it? I don't know where the thing is. Why are they so hard to find? Also, why am I not even being shot?
I see the clouds everywhere, but I don't see it. Did it just take off? Is it like way over here? It has to be way over here, cuz I'm like at the edge right now. Where are you? Oh, there it is. I see it. Okay, we are tracking it. It is very hard to track these things. I'm It's going to demolish me before I get a lock on. Right. Oh, we're getting close.

That was insane. I mean, I guess proximity mine's going to be the most deadly when you're literally touching it. That is weird though that it wasn't autolocking on me that time. I wonder why. All right, one more uh battle with it. This time I'm going to use my melee plane that uses It has no guns, but it uses the sword. So, I just got to sideswipe. I got to survive enough to sideswipe this thing. I see it now. Oh, this thing is uh very The controls aren't great cuz it doesn't actually have wings. All right, this one should be easy. I do feel like it is locking on me, though. Yeah, I'm getting hit. All right, come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Oh, it actually took off my tail right when I got to it. Oh my goodness. Yeah, my tail when my tail gets knocked off, I just lose so much stability. It's already taken me out twice. I've had to repair three times, actually. All right, you know what? We need We need to come up.
We need to come down from like above. We need to get some elevation.
Ow. Yeah, it is definitely autolocking me. I don't know why I didn't autolock my helicopter. Okay, here we go. Come on. Stay steady enough.

Wow. Okay. I thought this I honestly thought this one was going to be way easier because I thought I was just going to fly by it and just demolish it.
But um it's moving and it's taking me out way before I have a chance to really get my controls under control. Okay, come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. I keep booping it with my propeller, which is my least deadly part of my vehicle.
There we go. Okay, it wasn't that much.
It wasn't nearly as much. I thought I was going to take out the whole center and everything was going to fall apart.
Oh, I did take out enough that it's going up and back down and I don't know.

All right. You know what? All right. The mine wins. Okay. My vehicle is just falling apart. I've got nothing left.
All right. Aerial proximity mines. Annoying. Spawn a couple of those in a server and everyone will hate you cuz they're just going to aim at everything and they have incredible range. So, yeah. There it is.
Oh, you know what? didn't realize the uh the gyro stabilizer is only in one direction. So, whatever. I I I don't even know if I can fit another one that actually does fit. So, that was probably affecting things, too. Didn't make it any less effective as far as uh destroying me and making it hard to hit.
