This is a masterclass in mechanical stewardship, proving that the longevity of complex systems relies on the unglamorous rigor of daily maintenance. It elevates routine farm labor into a disciplined philosophy of asset preservation and operational safety.

VADERSTAD CARRIER AND LEMKEN PLOUGH WORKING THE LAST GAME COVERAdded:
Morning all. That is Thursday morning.
Going to get out with this um plow this morning and um get plowing. See in the background. Uh we got that game cover that I forgot uh yesterday. Well, day four. Um so I'll get that plowed up and then we'll get back and get the carrier back on the machine and then go back to the field and pull it down and then that'll be all done then. So uh yeah, let's get to it. See you in a bit. I suppose rarely. You could just say that was a bit of an excuse just to put the plow back on again, couldn't you? Hey, [laughter] that's my excuse. I'm going to stick to it, I think. So, we'll just get this thing going.
He's away.
Old start again. Nice bright start to the day that is. And off we go.
Just tracking up to that um game cover.
Um you can see the sugar be growing quite nicely now on this headland just as we go down the lane.
So I just got this game cover the one I forgot yesterday. There we are. These things happen. Um we'll get this plowed.
But first I need to get the taps turned on the plow. So they are those ones in there. You've seen them all work. So that's all folded out. Ready to go now.
That bit there.
So we just set the satellite. So that's all ready to go now. So this is where I want to finish over this side. So I'm going to start by the wood which is over there. Need to set the width on the plow when I um get to the other end. We'll turn it over and um set the width on that. I'm normally about uh 3.8 m um of the plow and the width. So we're just starting down this wood side here. We got um a row of muscanththers down the side of this wood. So um we got to make a reasonably fleet front burrow. So we don't bury those up. They're still there though. You can see there that the scan is like panther's grass type thing.
We're just um pulling at about 1300 down there. Well, nearly 1,400. Yeah, it's quite a bit dusty.
than you'd expect it to be, wouldn't you? I just need to work on that front fur a little bit more down there.
Get that right on the width.
Lovely board then. Anyway, [music] [music] [music] [music] >> [music] [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat.
[music] Heat.
Heat.
>> [music] [music] >> Heat.
Heat.
[music] Heat.
[music] [music] Heat.
[music] Heat. [music] Heat.
Heat. Heat.
[music] So, that's that one uh finished off. Um yeah, I hope I haven't forgot anymore.
Now, I don't think you have. But anyway, so back to the farm, swap over and then we'll come back and get that worked down just to keep all that moisture in there.
Just back to the farm and we'll get swapped over. So, I've just got to fold the plow up, put that away, and then get back onto this. We just dropped that off. Now, we got the uh pins back so they're unlocking clamps there are back. And then we've got the uh top link pin out.
Just got to drive forward. We can just lower the arms and drive forward.
And it's all nice and square. So, that's good.
It's all ready for next time now to be able to pick it up. All right. We'll just get the pipes on there now and get this on ready. So, we just got the carrier on. Let's go and get that one done now and get this washed down then.
We just had a feel. We'll get this unfolded and get it all worked down.
Yeah, I'm holding it.
Stop that.
Make sure they pop in the um sockets.
There we are. Properly.
It's a little socket which is uh hang on. Where is it? There it is. There in there probably the first one down. That's doing a nice job. But that is light land on here.
Really light land. Thought I'd get out and show you what sort of soil it is around here. This is uh this is the lighter end. That's quite nice. Look at that. Carrie is doing a good job on here. It certainly is. Get this all washed down when we're finished.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat.
>> [music] >> Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat. N.
[music] Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. N.
Down [music] down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down [music] down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down [music] [music] Right.
[music] So, that's that one all finished.
At least we got that job done. Back to the farm for a good wash down. So, we're nearly back to the farm. It's time to get washed down. And I'm going to stop these squeaks. That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to oil them up. Yeah, they're actually on the mid rollers.
They get a little dry in there. So, um, yeah, they are sealed part, but they need to be, uh, oiled up. Airy gamble.
Look, that must be breakfast time. Oh, that's normally a digit.
So, we're just heading down to the wash bay. I just had breakfast.
So, we're at the wash bay now. We'll get that washed down.
Make it look like a new one. So, we're just getting it washed down.
I know there's one person who will definitely be over the moon of this and he Hell.
So obviously just washing this uh carrier down. There's another good reason why it's important to uh keep machines clean. You can see there now the draw bar. So this is the main draw bar. You can see it's now starting to crack. So that main draw bar is cracking where that pivot point is. So uh that will need some attention.
So we'll start on this side. I done one side as you can see. Get that wash.
See if there's any more cracks in the old and hopefully I'll get time to go through it. Get it. W just about finished washing the carrier down at the minute. Got a load of chemical coming in as well this morning.
So the carrier has had a good old wash down this morning. That's looking a bit better. I just get that folded up. So I'm just going to get this uh folded up.
Just got to be careful on the concrete [music] about the tires. So then pull the tires off the rim.
Yeah. Just keep an eye on it.
Do any good on concrete at all.
See the tires there. Anyway, just go nice and steady.
Everyone's okay.
I'm going to leave it like that and then finish washing it. Hello. That's on the move. No. And just get the other bits now that I couldn't get to like under there. Same over there.
So, there we are. We had a good old wash around today or this morning.
The carrier's all drying as well in the sunshine.
I'll get that away this afternoon and put a bit of grease around the bearings.
That'll be all good to go except for the draw bar. I must get that seam to I'll have to weld that up. So yeah, it's cracked there. Just having a look at that draw bar. What do you reckon? Bit duct tape.
>> Duct tape, I reckon. Just done.
>> Chewing gum.
>> Yeah, it's bit. [laughter] >> So it is nearly dinner time. I'm just going to go and have a look at the uh sugar beat story. just walking down this uh wheeling. So, this is going to be the sugar beat story. That will be the photo. We'll just have a look at the beat. There they are. Look, getting a move on there. A few more weeds just coming through, but um obviously there's a load of chemical turned up this morning. So, that's what they will be for.
Just have a look up the rope.
certainly are growing now.
The wind is a blowing today that it is more nice ones all together.
But now it's dinner time. Just let that dry now where it is and uh get that away after dinner.
Get it greased up. Got some shingle to go and get after dinner. So, we just got a little job this afternoon with a loader. Clear these boxes up first while we're here. It's drying out a tree now.
So, I'll be able to get that away later on and greased up. So, we have just got some uh that gray granite in the trailer. I'm just going to tip that down the line and level it out and then we're going to fill it up with shingle and then go and do our next job. Right.
Lovely day is in the end. Look at that.
The trees are all coming out. Lovely big old drone flying about here today.
Look at that.
And we're just going to get some of that gray uh stone in these holes on this road quickly uh before we take this stone out. There he is. Hi, buddy. We're just going to get that tipped up. He's got his tunes on, I reckon.
So, we just had a little bit left in the trailer after a job we done a few weeks ago. So, just a matter of getting it out, getting it clean, really. It's just hanging up in the back there. But, um, we need to get it out there. Keep going, buddy. I'll get it out. That's that last bit just gone down. I'll just level it out with a bucket now. Well, look, Bradley will be wired today.
So, we just got the stone in the trailer and in the bucket. We're just down here sorting out now. We're council workers for an arm. Council workers. Yeah. Look.
So, this is what we're up to. Sorting the uh shingle drive out just along the edges.
So, we're just back to the farm now after doing all that sort of shingle work. I just need to put that away now cuz I need the bag lifter which is over there. So, I just left this over here to dry because uh once you washed it and that all the soil seems to then go up the top and then it drops all over the uh all the workens in the middle there.
So, um yeah, that's all dry now. I can get it in the way and the carrier. So, all we need to do is drive forward and bolt up just like that.
There it is.
So that's away and looking loads better now. All cleaned down. The two Verdustad kit together. Don't forget we have the Verdad drill as well. There it is.
So we're just at the other end of the farm now to collect some um fertilizer for tomorrow. So we're all ready to go.
We can use the last of the bags which are there where that robin was. So um now that they're gone. So there we are.
Trailer's all loaded, ready to go. back down to the farm.
A lovely day is blue skies.
So, we got the trailer loaded. We'll just head back to the farm and uh get the grease gun out and grease that carrier up before I go home.
Thought I'd stop and have a look at the sugar beat on here. Look, they're getting away. Look at them. You can really see they are just getting away now. They are. Look at them. Look so dry though. We just need a real good rain like everybody.
Just walking back in. Look at the size of these ones here. Look.
>> You'll soon be lifting them ones, Andy.
That you will.
>> Are we Are we good now? You got that your system?
>> I have. Yeah. [laughter] Sooner.
>> So, we are back to the farm now. Um, just filled the trailer up all ready for tomorrow. So, big day on F tomorrow and then Rad will be spraying. So, I think I think we've uh You're just lowering a bit, aren't you? [laughter] There you go.
Good old boy. Anyway, [laughter] let's get on with it.
>> Yes.
>> Little the large is it?
>> Yeah. You're the large. I'm the little >> I got that the wrong way round, dude.
>> Dude. [laughter] Uh there right that time of day. Um it's time to go home. So uh yeah, I started the day doing that plowing and then uh cuz I forgot the game cover.
>> Yeah, >> we haven't forgot a game cover each, have we? [laughter] >> So then uh pulled it down with the uh carrier and uh Bradley's been busy with the um >> sprayer. No, there I sprout this morning sand and then shingle and another >> all sorted. Then >> finish the day off with the stones job.
>> Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video.
We'll catch you tomorrow. Uh from me and Bradley, see you later. Bye-bye.
>> Bye.
