Voice AI technology has advanced to the point where AI agents can conduct highly realistic phone conversations that are difficult for humans to distinguish from real people, as demonstrated through prank calls where AI successfully impersonated official communications like speeding tickets and sports league fines, with the AI handling objections, maintaining character consistency, and adapting to unexpected responses in real-time.

Voice AI is Getting WAY Too GoodAdded:
Voice AI is the future, and unfortunately, it's replacing jobs like today. So, we decided to have a bit of fun with our own voice AI that we built, and we got it to call some people we know, and let them know that they've got to pay some sort of fine for something they did wrong in their real life. Will they fall for it? Will they actually have a conversation with it? Will they even tell that it's AI? Let's dive in and find out. Hey guys. So, we've been having a lot of fun in the office this week uh pranking people. Uh we've managed to prank two people. Uh one was Gavin's dad who works in the office, and the other one was my mate who plays on the same football team as me. We pranked him about his poor poor performances. Uh we pranked Gav's dad about a speeding ticket while he was away in South Africa and blamed it on his son-in-law. It was very funny, both of them. Um so, we want to just see how the AI tool behaved, how it interacted, uh and how realistic it was, and to see if they could actually get uh duped by it uh with, you know, mixed success, I would say. The first one we're going to show you is Gavin's dad, and [clears throat] um I think he'd just woken up. So, he was in a pretty gettable state, I would say.
And I'll let the recording do the talking for us.
Hello.
Hi, is this Charles? This is Ben.
>> Yeah.
Yeah.
>> [snorts] >> Charles, yeah.
Right. Hi, sorry. I'm calling about the speeding ticket issued to you on the 26th of April. Have you got time to chat?
Yeah.
Which one? Which one?
Right. [snorts] I'm calling about the ticket issued to you from the bus lane on Lewis Road. Were you driving just past 10:00 p.m. on the 26th of April?
I'm not aware of Lewis Lane. I don't know where [snorts] that would be.
Right. Okay, cuz it seems you were going at 42 miles an hour, which is quite a bit over the speed limit. It also seems we went to go check at your address, but a gentleman named Sam said he's not the owner. So, the liability >> Yeah. That's his son-in-law.
Okay.
Right. Yeah, so the liability falls on you to pay the fine then. Were you driving?
I'm not sure if I was. You just catch me at that awkward time because I was away for a while. I've only just got >> [snorts] >> back now this morning.
What date was it?
That was on the 26th of April around 10:10 in the evening. You see, because of the serious nature of the offense, we have to impound your vehicle. It will cost around £2,000 to release it, but because it's registered in the Netherlands, we will need a copy of your Dutch driving license. Can you send that over to our email?
Yeah, maybe you can just send me the details because the 26th of April I was in South Africa.
Right, okay. Well, like I said, the camera footage is at your address, so maybe it was someone else driving the vehicle. If you need the email, you can send it to [email protected].
Got him.
Hello?
Yeah, hello. Did you want me to send that email address to you?
Yeah, now I got it.
>> [snorts] >> Right, got you. Okay, so you can send that driving license over to us. At this point, I need to stop and clarify something though before this goes any further. This isn't a real enforcement call. There's no fine, no bus lane offense, and no points. This is a prank set up by Sam while testing a voice AI system.
Okay.
>> [snorts] >> Yeah, sorry about that. I'm sure Sam will be getting a earful. Have a good day.
Thanks, bye.
So you can see that one we did put in a little bit at the end just to make sure he knew it was a prank cuz we didn't want him to get worried or anything like that. He took it very well actually. He must have had a lot of speeding tickets in the past because he asked he asked which one.
Um so this one he really did fall for it. I know that evening he spoke to Gav and was like, "What's this AI system you're doing?"
Um >> [snorts] >> which uh Gav uh obviously told him it was him uh and they had a good laugh about it. So, yeah, that was a very good successful one. He completely fell for it. Uh we built that on Gemini. And I'm going to show you how we built this uh just after the next prank. Um as you can And it's it literally takes me about 7 minutes to do these. Uh that's how brilliant this uh new system we have that creates all the voice AI with And I think this one was used with Gemini voice. But, let's go on to the next one. This one is a particularly funny one. Uh um I think he you know, I'll let you do uh I'll let you uh be the judge of it. Uh we were rolling around in the office laughing at this one um cuz Larry's a bit of a a bit of a character. But, yeah, so this one we basically uh rung him up as the owner of our six-a-side football league uh basically saying that he he had been um reported for misconduct and he had a he has a fine to pay. So, we'll see how he gets on uh in on this one.
Hello.
Is this Larry? This is Shawn from Leisure Leagues. I'm following up on a complaint we've received. Have I caught you at an okay time? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All good.
Shoot.
I'm going to be up front. We've had a couple of teams complaining about your behavior on the pitch. Do you have any idea why that might be?
Uh couple of big tackles, I imagine.
Um hm.
Yeah, well >> Scoring too many goals, maybe?
They say no no professionals. I said I'm not.
They said should be.
So, it's not about the goals, I'm afraid. The consensus is that you're consistently slide tackling. And apparently, your shooting isn't up to scratch, either. It's losing us a lot of balls on the roof. What's your side of the story?
Um >> [sighs] >> Jealousy.
>> [snorts] >> Well Jealousy.
Yeah, slide tackles part of the game.
Bring it back.
Well, no, actually, it's not. It's against the rules. So, I've spoken to management and we're finding you 30 quid just to try and recoup the cost of some of the lost balls. And if you don't pay it, we can't let you play in again. Can we rely on you to sort it out?
Um how are you going to enforce this?
I've seen a lot of teams who have supposedly been banned there, come back as a different team name weeks later.
Well, not in my league, mate. So, we're going to start with a >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. Actually in your league. Um couple of examples come to mind.
That bald guy started on one of my teammates, Jeff.
Offered him out in the car park. Now he plays for two or three different teams down there.
Well, not anymore he won't be if I catch him. Anyway, let's start with 30 quid and then we'll go from there. Can you pay it?
Yeah, I can pay it. Loads of money.
Am I going to pay it? Different story.
>> [snorts] >> Well, well, then I'll send you a payment link. Will that work?
Yeah, it could work. I might ignore it, but it could work.
Right. Well, let's start with that then.
Can I get your mobile?
Yeah, you Well, you called you called me on it. So, use this number.
Right. Well, I'll pop that across to you right now. Cheers. Right. Well, All right. Sweet as.
Yeah, nice one. Cheers, Larry.
Okay. So, obviously on that one, I think he cottoned on a bit a bit early um that it was a prank call. Obviously, I did make it a bit funny, to- tongue-in-cheek to try and catch him out. Um but again, quite funny call. And the AI just works so well. Like, the laughs were in the perfect places. It sounded quite genuine and um unique. I would say I did do a Cockney accent and it slightly went into Australian up at times. That's the only uh criticism I'd have of it.
Um but ultimately, I think he did a really good job.
Um and yeah, we absolutely love it. So, without further ado, I can show you how I built this and how you can potentially build them yourself as well. Okay? Okay, guys. So, we build it in the Sales Wingman, which is on the screen right now. There is a light version at the moment where you can just demo to clients, which is brilliant.
And there'll be a link below to kind of like show you how you can get that.
But yeah, let's show you how we build it. So, basically what we would go and do go to Voice AI Agents.
We would go to build Voice AI.
You pick the country that you're in. So, we're in the United Kingdom. And you do the website. So, I'm going to do this for how I did Larry's the football find prank.
So, I'm just going to pop in our league name, which is leisureleagues.com.
What's the company?
Leisure Leagues. And what's the agent?
Let's Let's call him Shawn.
Business hours configuration. So, you can do that whatever you want. The It will be defaulted to 9:00 to 5:00 p.m.
I'm just going to leave that as it is for now.
Now, the voice model that's come out that's changed the game is Gemini Live, and that's what we've used in this one.
It sounds so much more human-like, does the breaths and the pauses way better.
So, we're going to select Gemini Live for that.
And then what we're going to go and do is we're going to go and select a voice.
So, these are like the base voices. It isn't the end of the It isn't the end voice. You can amend the accent and the thing, but we can just have a listen to one of them. We're introducing a new feature where I can read ideas and topics aloud with a natural human-like voice. I'm going to select pop cuz that's the one I used.
And then we want to scroll down. Now, this is where you can do a voice description. So, you want to describe the voice that you want.
Cockney accent, which is the East London accent in the UK.
Cockney accent from uh, England.
He's uh, a cheeky chappie who loves his job.
Um, not too stereotypical.
Cuz you don't want the old like, you know, Dick Van Dyke kind of "Right, governor?" But like how the how the Americans probably see us.
Um, we don't want it like that, but we just want it like a bit subtler, uh, but still a funny accent. Not too stereotypical.
Um, yeah, so let's just do that and that will build uh, a voice prompt for us in the prompt with Wingman.
Uh, we're going to start configuration.
Uh, begin configuration.
It will scrape the website to add to the prompt. You can pick between these three.
I'm going to just um, select the middle the middle one, balance professional.
Uh, we're going to do outbound calls and we're going to press continue.
And then we're just going to um, six aside football.
Continue.
Uh, this is the only one you can select.
I'm just going to select that. You can amend the prompt later to take any uh, mention of this out.
Um, but I'm just going to do that and then what we did we did Larry and then the phone number.
Just a fake phone number for now.
Prepare my demo.
This will analyze the the website and bring that all into your prompt for you.
Um, so you have a complete prompt done for you at the moment. Now, because this is a prank and there's no real CTA, it's slightly different. But if you were doing this for say a roofing company, it would scan the roofing company's website uh, and it would build in uh, a basically a voice AI chatbot that would ask them a few questions and try and book them in for a consult consultation or a call. This is all amendable in your prompt though.
Um, this just helps get you kind of 80% there and then you have to do 20% of your own work in the prompts after the fact. So now this has been built, I'm going to go back to the Wingman.
And I'm going to go to AI voice agents and go to view view view voice demos.
Been a a long morning already as you can tell.
So in here we've got the the Leisure Leagues one we're here. So I'm going to press the little pencil button to edit it.
And I'm going to go firstly to my prompts in here. Now this is where I've built it for a few of the guys.
Now I just want to make sure I've got the right one.
Want to find the opening message. You want to get the opening message correct and I can't remember what what I did.
Just find it in the prompt.
Search for opening.
Nope.
Your opener. There it is.
So I'm going to copy that and I'm going to put that in the openings here.
Take off the things. I want to make sure it's Larry.
Done.
So it's yeah, it's Larry. This is Shawn from Leisure Leagues. I'm following up on a complaint we have received. Have I caught you at an okay time?
So I'll press um save changes just to save that.
Then I want to go back in again, edit.
Go to opening, make sure that's all good. Yeah, that's all good. Let's go to the prompt. Now I like going into the custom prompt area just so I can do everything I need I need to do.
Um So up here it says this is the default that will come through us. So it's your Shawn, a helpful professional consultant at Leisure Leagues. I think I'd change this bit to uh this slightly.
Uh it just makes him a bit more of a the guy who runs Worthing uh the Worthing League at Leisure Leagues. You're British, a bit grumpy, and have to deliver bad news to teams quite often.
You're calling Larry about a consist about consistent complaints from referees about his behavior towards them. Um so, that's all good. And now you can see this is the voice that So, that little prompt we did earlier, just the Cockney accent, da da da da, it builds uh the voice prompt, which is way more in-depth. So, you can see this modern East London boy, Stratford, working to working to lower middle professional accent, Cockney influence, but phone-friendly. Think approachable London trades, da da da da da. So, like it's got all this cool stuff in here, which really goes in-depth into the voice style it wants you to create.
Um uh it goes down and has pacing as well. Brisk, lively opening to build rapport, short, punchy phrases.
Uh then it has the tone. So, you have a prompt for the tone, and this is all built for you by the Wingman.
Um you don't need to touch this, really.
And that builds your voice of what you kind of want.
Um and the constraints, you can see uh where is it? Constraints.
There it is. Avoid exaggerated Cockney caricature, no every hello, guv'nor, like that kind of stuff. So, that's good cuz you don't want to go into that on the phone. Unless you're doing a very funny prank, which, you know, it's up to you.
>> [laughter] >> Um you don't really touch most of this stuff. So, speech patterns, I leave. Um examples, that's all good. Spelling rules, I leave.
You can add to the rules, though. Um flow. This is what you want to change.
This is what changes the what the um the agent's going to ask. So, if you go to my football prompts, I'm just going to scroll down to the flow here.
And I just add in all of this stuff.
Um if we go back to the wingman, so you can see I'm just taking out this stuff.
And because there's no CTA, I'm going to delete the CTA out as well cuz there's not like a a drop a link to book a an appointment or to sell a product. So, but you would keep this in if you were doing roofing or, you know, home improvements or finance, mortgages, whatever.
Um so but I'm going to delete that out for this uh prank purely because it's not needed. And then I'll just paste in what I've got here. So, you can see asking if he knows what you are referring to, let him know what the complaint was was, make one up, swearing at the ref or being aggressive, get getting the face, etc. Uh ask his side of the story, let him know his punishment something like a £30 fine and if it's not paid he can't play again.
This is a standard procedure for for five ref complaints. Keep a calm consult consultant pace, ask one question, listen, then clarify briefly.
Um when discovery is complete, move to the close. So, we don't need that bit in there anymore. So, you've got rid of that.
Um do not end the call until he says he will pay the fine.
Uh if he continues to refuse, stay calm and keep asking questions like blah blah blah blah blah. So, that's basically deals with the flow and what the agent's going to say. So, that's a very important part that you want to amend.
Um the objections part, you can add to that. I didn't change that for the call.
Call screening, I didn't change that.
That's another functionality side of the voice agent. So, I didn't change that at all.
Never again, you can add to the the nevers if it does something that you don't like. But again, I didn't do anything for that for the um um for the prank.
So, you can see leads Larry, six-a-side.
Um that's all good.
Your opener, this is short for Mitchell Leagues. Yeah.
Cool. So, that's all good. The opener, you want to make sure that's the same as what's in there. Normally, if you change uh what's in here and press save changes, it will amend what's in your prompt section anyway.
And tool extraction tool extraction tool sorry tool execution contract. Now, there's no tools in the demo. When you do it a demo actually you can't send links. You can't end the call. That kind of stuff it's just a demo. So, you don't need this for the demo, but it's it's important to be in there for if you change it to a live agent. Um and it's important to know in the SalesWingman Light you can't do live agents. You have to have the full SalesWingman to do live voice agents.
SalesWingman Light only allows you to demo it, which is still an epic tool just to show um the power of it and to get a client on. When you have the client on, then you can maybe upgrade to the SalesWingman.
Um Response, this is all kind of like how it speaks. There's a lot of in the prompt about how it speaks, its tone, how it says things. Um And closing staying character. Yep, so that's all good. So, I don't try to change anything else. The only other thing I changed was I realized it says leisurely leagues not leisure leagues.
Uh the British. So, I just popped in here.
Um So, you have to pronounce le zha.
So, phonetically you want to make sure that it knows how to say it phonetically.
Um but yeah, that's basically how I did it. Save changes and that then we just press test test test demo, put Larry's number in, uh and then he answered the call. And then you get the screen, which I I believe you saw uh during the demo of Larry's, uh where it has what he's saying and what the agent is saying. Um now, sometimes obviously it's not bang on uh because uh the transcript is slightly off, but still it's a good way of just seeing how the demo goes, what they're saying. Um and it's cuz it's a a good visual cue for you to see how the agent is responding to different questions. Okay, so now that's all built out. To prove to you that it works, let's go and test it.
Okay, so let's pick this up.
Hi, is this Larry? This is Sean from Leisure League. I'm following up on a complaint we have received. Have I caught you at an okay time? What what complaint?
Right, [snorts] well, we've had some pretty consistent complaints [laughter] from the referees about your behavior, you know, towards them. Specifically some aggressive behavior and, you know, swearing at them. Do you know what that might be about?
>> Not at all. Um, I chat to them and I give them some feedback on their performances, but I I don't swear, I don't I'm not aggressive.
Okay, well, that's your side of the story, but we've had five refs complain about you now. Standard procedure is a £30 fine, and if that's not paid, then you won't be able to play again. How would you like to proceed then?
Well, most of the refs down there are only paid about £5 a game and they barely know what they're talking about.
Do you think that's acceptable?
Right, well, look, that may be your opinion, but we have to support our referees. We treat any abuse of them very seriously. So, are you going to pay the £30 fine? Otherwise, you're off the pitch.
Okay, well, um, how are you going to enforce that because I know there's another guy down there who attacks people and they're still playing even though he's banned.
Well, we'll be speaking to the team captain. And just because someone else might be doing something in your eyes doesn't mean that we're going to let it go with you. So, like I say, £30 fine or you're not playing again. How would you like to pay? Well, how did you even get this number?
Well, I got it from your team captain, Gavin. So, are you going to pay the fine or am I going to have to speak to him about you not playing no more? You're going to have to speak to him because I'm not paying.
Right. Okay, I hear you.
To be honest, I thought you might say that. Am I going to have to speak to your mum about this instead then?
>> [laughter] >> You know, Dave, you sound pretty childish.
Well, that's outrageous. Why on earth would you speak to my mum? I'm a 35-year-old man.
Well, you're acting pretty childish, you know, not paying your fine.
I mean, we're going to have to ban you otherwise. Are you really going to, you know, mess this up for your whole team?
Okay, I'll pay. I'll pay. I'll pay. But, don't speak to my mum, please.
Right. Okay, nice one. Glad we sorted that out. So, like I said, just pay that 30-pound fine on the website and we'll see you on the pitch next week. Anything else I can help you with? That's all good, man. Thank you very much.
Yeah, nice one. Have a good day. Bye.
And there we go, guys. Um that's the prank built in 7 minutes. Um as I said, it's just in between the flow, which is very, very important um to change, and that's kind of direction of the conversation that he'll take. So, yeah, guys, thanks a lot for watching.
Uh hopefully you enjoyed it. Uh don't worry, no people were offended or harmed in this video.
Um and I'll see you in the next one.
Cheers, guys. Okay, I hope you enjoyed that. We had a lot of fun building that in the office, and we're just so impressed with how far voice AI has come. The tool we used to build this voice AI agent is our own personal SaaS.
It's called the Sales Wingman. Comment Wingman below in the comments, and we're going to link you to a post where you can find out more about the Sales Wingman. So, comment below Wingman, and we'll fire that over to you. I'll speak to you soon. Take care.
