YouTuber Grandma SWATTED Over Minecraft Stream?!

[00:00:03]So, just a reminder that a good portion of the internet is trash. This is an 81-year-old grandmother. You've probably heard of her. Uh, Grandma Crackers.

[00:00:13]She's been streaming to raise money for her grandson to get cancer treatment and somebody swatted her.

[00:00:20]>> Yeah. What kind of low-life piece of crap do you have to be to swat an 81-year-old woman who could have gotten hurt, who's trying to raise money playing Minecraft? What? You're so you're so jealous of her Minecraft skills. You have to be real sick sob and that's gender neutral just to behave this way. Look, we know there are a lot of really sick people on the internet.

[00:00:41]We know that uh I mean look there are some good people on the internet but there in this space like there is so much petty vindictive jealousy and people don't >> jealous 80year-old one 81y old grandma who's streaming.

[00:00:55]>> I can jealous of a grandma. I can almost guarantee you that whoever hit her probably is like a YouTuber, failed YouTuber, failed Twitch streamer, somebody who is lit literally jealous of this woman. I can almost guarantee it.

And I think there need to be stricter >> Oh, everybody thinks there needs to be stricter penalties for swatting >> because it's too it's too easy. And one of these days, and I'm I'm sure it's already happened. Somebody's going to get hurt, killed, something. She could have had a heart attack from this.

She's gained hundreds of thousands of subscribers in a short time, and now she's raising money for her grandson's uh saroma cancer, which affects muscle and tissue, and this poor kid is is going through it. And she launched her YouTube channel late last year, inviting viewers to join her as she learned the ropes.

[00:02:37]>> She learned she learned to start playing because her grandson's played with her, which I think is the sweetest thing.

[00:02:41]>> I think that's cool. I think it's really cool. My grandma used to play uh Super Mario Brothers and Tetris on the NES.

[00:02:48]>> My grandma wasn't a gamer, but my mom um my kids' grandma, she plays and stuff like that. And and my my son has helped her several times or played games with her, met her on her island on Animal Crossing or helped her beat was it Zelda because she got stuck. So, he'd help her beat levels when she got stuck and things like that.

[00:03:05]>> So, they said alongside the videos, Austin set up a GoFundMe to help cover Jack's medical expenses. It's been linked in each video's description. The fundraiser has received more than 48,000. It's up to almost 75,000 right now.

[00:03:21]>> Yeah. So, this is just really uh disgusting. So, let's let's talk about what happened. We're going to show the clip here, but um this come from the gamer, actually, an 81year-old streamer playing through Minecraft until she beats it. Well, it's kind of hard to beat Minecraft, >> you know. Yeah, but I mean >> she was swatted with 20 police cars, five SWAT cars full of multiple SWAT officers and drones arriving at her house. This reminds me of like >> What did they say she did?

[00:03:47]>> Yeah, it does remind me of Christmas vacation. Yes.

[00:03:50]>> Grandma Crackers who has over 600,000 YouTube followers. That's what I'm telling you right now.

[00:03:56]>> That is probably the motivation for this cuz these people are insane. And >> oh, they are ridiculous. you you find out who actually does the swatting and and who does all the smear campaigns and the doxing and all stuff. 99% of the time they are failed YouTubers, failed Twitch streamers who have mental issues and they're taking it out on everybody else who who actually >> she actually put the Ring camera footage up on her page on her on her YouTube.

[00:04:23]>> Yeah, I'm we're going to go out we're going to go out and look at that here in a second. But yeah, she has 600,000 YouTube followers. She was she was asleep. She was asleep while her stream of Minecraft was still live when officers were seen entering her house with torches and rifles. So that'd be flashlights for those of Not actual torches. Uh they're in the UK, so that'd be flashlights. Don't worry, they didn't get the pitchforks and torches out. So let's um let's take a look at the video clip here. This is her ring camera footage. This is insane. much.

I mean, >> I was like, what did they tell them that she did to get that many to get like drones and that many SWAT vehicles and everything else there? I would love to know what they what the call was what they said she did.

[00:06:51]>> I was getting all kinds of hug. I was really eating it up. It was kind of fun.

[00:06:58]>> I got to ride in the police car. I've never been in a police car before.

[00:07:02]>> Got to ride in the police car to my apartment and then it was all over.

[00:07:08]>> So I thought, well, I got to go to bed.

[00:07:12]So I took an ibuprofen and went to bed.

[00:07:15]She's like the most real grandma ever.

[00:07:18]>> Oh, this seems to be the uh the outside footage. I couldn't find all the outside footage. She probably wasn't allowed to put the whole thing up, but um yeah, they said the streamer who also streams Fortnite, Rocket League, and Roblox.

[00:07:30]>> That's why you got that's why you got swatted. It was Roblox seemed upbeat about the whole situation, saying, "The officers were so nice to me. I love them. Shout out to them. They were wonderful."

[00:07:40]Um, she said the only thought going through her head was as she was taken outside was, "I'm walking outside with bare feet and it's not hurting." Grandma Crackers is the latest high-profile streamer to face the indecency of being swatted. In 2021, XQC revealed the police thought he was a meth addict when he was swatted in 2022. Aiden Ross was banned on Twitch after he faced the same fate. Last year, the actor who plays Grand Theft Auto 5's Michael Ned Luke revealed he's been swatted so often he's now friends with the police. That's actually the best advice I can give you.

[00:08:11]Become friends with the police locally.

[00:08:14]If you do this, >> let them know that it could happen. And there's a actually a file on, you know, at the police station.

[00:08:20]>> Yeah. Our our local police, our state police, I mean, I'm I'm not even kidding. We had uh kind of an incident a couple years ago. It wasn't a swatting, but there there was some high strangeness going on. I'm just going to leave it at that. So, we uh had like a dossier of a whole bunch of printouts of stuff. We gave it to the cops and we explained the situation. At first, they looked at us like we had a third eye like, "Wait, what now? YouTube. What? I don't understand. This is about what?

[00:08:47]Comic books and cartoons?" It's like, "Yeah, it sounds crazy, but here's some proof. Here's some >> Trust me, there's a lot of crazies."

[00:08:54]>> Yeah, here's some, you know, Reddit threads and [ __ ] This is people people are insane on online. And uh so they have like a whole like freaking 300page dossier on us at the cops so they know like hey we'll we'll like call ahead you know >> we have kids and pets so you know.

[00:09:12]>> Yeah. And it's not it's not funny.

[00:09:14]People think it's funny. It's not funny.

[00:09:16]People who do this they need to go to prison because it is >> people have gotten hurt and killed.

[00:09:21]>> It is attempted homicide. And here's the thing. It's like I mean it didn't work because I mean but I mean the fact that she thought it was fun.

[00:09:28]>> So you just got her more attention and probably made her bigger. So you just you know if you were trying to do something damage you just and you just did the opposite.

[00:09:35]>> Oh my god. Well here we go. Swinging a streamer is completely illegal in the US is often prosecuted as a felony. The most famous case came in 2018 which I I didn't even hear about this one. When 25-year-old Tyler Baris tried to swat a streamer but instead sent the police to the wrong address. It ended with a father of two being shot dead by officers and he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

[00:09:57]>> Yeah, I did know that they were trying to he was trying to swat this person and then they went to the wrong house and um that guy ended up dead. That's what I said. Or people have been hurt or killed. That's what I meant by being killed.

[00:10:07]>> Yeah, this is and then what happens is, you know, this kind of goes along with uh the doxing and stuff. They they basically if they don't have the guts to swat somebody, what they do is they put your information out there because they're hoping somebody else will. Mhm.

[00:10:19]>> They don't want to pull the trigger.

[00:10:20]They want to load the gun and hand it to a crazy person to do what they're not going to do cuz they don't want to take the fall for it. And the problem is is that there are people who hate watch streamers and and even if it's jealousy or some kind of other mental thing going on, the aliens told them to do it or whatever that they they will try to hurt people, even an 81year-old grandma, which is just >> that's what I'm mad about. This is like this is I mean it's bad to do it to anyone, >> but to go target the 81year-old grandma who's just doing it to try to raise money for her grandson's cancer treatments is just a level of hell that you know is is is completely blows my mind. Like to be that vindictive, petty, cruel, whatever to do that you have to be a special kind of messed up individual >> to to be that depraved and ridiculous.

[00:11:11]>> But there there are I mean that's the thing. The problem is you don't know who's watching your channel. You don't know why they're watching your channel.

[00:11:17]You don't know again what's going through their head. And it might be a completely irrational thing. Like I mean my my whole thing, this is one of the biggest problems I have I think is I I'm a very logical rational person. So I'm always trying to figure out like what the motivation is behind somebody's actions. And for me, like if it's like just a purely emotional reaction or, you know, think of the aliens or talk to whatever, I I it doesn't compute with me. And I'm like, that doesn't make any sense. And the problem is that to a lot of these people, it makes total sense to me.

[00:11:48]>> Yeah. But that's the thing to most people, to most rational people, it's not going to make sense.

[00:11:52]>> No, >> it's just that they got they're in their head about something. They're mad about you don't like this cartoon or you played this game wrong or you're beating me in subscribers or whatever.

[00:12:01]>> It's not fair. You've got more subs than I do, Grandma. And I started playing Minecraft 15 years ago and you just showed up and you got half million subs and I hate you.

[00:12:09]>> It could be that simple.

[00:12:10]>> I mean, really, it could be that >> people are pissed. They're really not happy about the situation.

[00:12:14]>> No, this was the wrong person. And I guarantee you, whoever did this, and they will find them eventually cuz they got ways to track. Whoever did this is going to be on the wrong side of the internet. they're going to definitely uh out this person. Like swatting a grandma is a whole another level of >> awful, >> especially one that's like got gain that many subscribers cuz everybody loves her so much and watches her her streams and shows and stuff cuz they really like her.

[00:12:42]>> Um >> a lot of people were really really outraged about it. It's just you shouldn't do it to anyone, but this was especially egregious and I was just like I was like oh hell no when I saw this.
