[00:00:00]Shaun Grayson, the former police officer who was convicted in October of second-degree murder for the killing of Sonya Massey, has just been sentenced to 20 years in prison, which was the maximum time allowed by law. Grayson's attorney asked the judge for a 6-year sentence after announcing in court that Grayson has stage four metastatic colon cancer that has spread to his rectum, lungs, and liver, and that he will likely not survive his prison sentence if given the maximum. Donna Massey, who is Sonya's mom, ended her victim's impact statement by looking straight at Shaun Grayson and saying, quote, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus, which if you're familiar with the case would know those were some of the last words Sonya said before being shot and killed by Grayson.
