It happened so fast! | Wordle #1785 (May 9, 2026)Added:
Hello. Let's do Wordle for Saturday, May 9th. Let's play. Yesterday we spun the wheel. It said to start with shave or shave or whatever this word is, but we're going to start with it. It ends in V. There are no answer list words that end in V, but I think Finland was telling me, hey, there are words that do end in V though. They are accepted. All right. Well, we do start with S. We have an A somewhere. I am thinking s something a like common letters are t r l slart. I always want to guess slart. We could do slant. Slant seems like a good guess. All right.
Ooh, it was a good guess. So, are we Where's the A go?
S A N T. Santa.
Um, probably not. Sat satin. I think satin works. Let's try it.
Nice. All right. Nice and quick solve today. Um, cool.
I guess it got very forced very quickly, but I think you know common letters are common is a good strategy. All right. Well, before we do anything else, let's spin the wheel and see what uh tomorrow's starting word will be.
is it is it is crane suggested by gas man 1109. So if you're following along you can start with crane which in early Wordle uh analysis um some videos claimed that crane was the optimal starting word.
It's still not bad but other analyses have shown other results.
All right. Well, let's do some analysis.
The answer was satin. Oops. Not stain. Satin. Was stain possible? St. No. Aa couldn't go in the middle. Um, started with shave.
It says slant.
So, I did the I did the top guess and then it was only satin. So, uh, bot would do the same thing. Let's start with tails. It's preferred start again. Like satin just has the stn. It's got an a. Um, we're going to go psy here, which is interesting. And from psy it's only satin or satai. Sati, whatever that is.
All right. Steel will have the same letters but different spots. We're going to go saint. Satin is isn't quite as good. There's seven words left. Says saint is good. And from there it's it's an anagram of satin. All right. So positioning is what mattered there for saint verse satin. Wonder how many people went saint satin. That's fun. All right. Adue is the most common starting word. We have a a and I we're going to go train. We have most of the letters.
Common letters are common. We're going to go satin from there. Only answer word. There was also Matten and patent.
All right. Audio has the A and the I. We're going to go train again and then satin. Okie dokie.
And stare. Another common starting word.
Again, common letters common. Splat.
Splat gets all six of them. That's interesting. Saint, salty, sauté, satin, splat, squat.
Those squs always get me when the answer is squ. It's always hard to think of.
All right. Anyway, lots of threes today.
Uh, Trace tries to get in two does not. We go faith. Wow. We could get s we could get lucky and get it in three. We get very unlucky and get it in five. All right. And finally, clasp is what the official bot starts with in hard mode.
We're going to go taser with that a and s. And then we're going to go we could go satin or we could go like sauté satin or saint satin. I bet you the bot's going to do saint satin, but we'll see.
All right. Well, we'll see just right now. I'm going to grab a screenshot and we'll do some official bot analysis.
Right. This was satin.
Okie dokie. Let's load up the bot.
Gave me a 99 skill score.
What else was there to do? All right.
Shave. How many started with shave? So, the follow-ups were stare, slate, sal, stale, satin, slant.
Interesting. Yeah, I guess we could have done a sal anagram.
I just came up with slant for some reason. Normally, normally when Salai is available, I do it. All right. But slant worked out, so I'm fine with that. It It actually liked all quite a few of like it liked slant or stale as the best follow-ups. Stale being a salagram.
Interesting. It usually likes slate. I wonder why it's different.
Okay. Well, u give me a 99 for slant and a 99 for satin.
Clasp taser saint. I I predicted it.
Clasp taser saint satin. All right. 3 started with Saturn 14.3.
Wow, look at that jump. Turn three, so many people are getting in three. 63.8, then 91.9 on turn four, 98.9 on turn five. Greater than 99 on turn six.
People aren't losing. If they lose, it's on Saint, but not really. Um, let's refresh and check regular mode. But I wonder if today is going to be a um greater than 99 on regular. That would be fun.
All right, it gave me a 91 skill on this one. So, see people doing stair slate stale cell. A lot of cell anagram sandy. Uh, no one else did slant.
Interesting.
Gave an 83 for slant on this one. It wants lent.
Oh, so it said it does this a lot where if there's a starting S, it just says, "Hey, do a filler next."
It's interesting.
It really wants fillers, but I mean it what I would guess worked out. Slate privy. So, it does a huge filler with privy here. No common letters at all.
And then satin. Interesting.
4. Started with satin. 11.2 54.8. That's not as much of a jump.
86.8.
97.3 greater than 99. Okay. Hey, it is a greater than 99 day. So, people are starting their new streaks after the the streak of of uh of traps. Well, how'd you do
