>> I think people just don't realize how much of a mental game the marathon is because so many times I've ran races or done marathons and my watch or my training and everything showed that I could have got a sub four or a 4:15 and I've got just under a five or in my half marathons I was predicted to get a certain time and I didn't. But so many times I've let my mental take over. I've got anxious or put too much pressure on myself. This is the first race where I literally had a conversation with myself and I was like, "Trust yourself. Don't make excuses for yourself.
Be proud of yourself and let yourself do it." We both wrote it on our hands. I wrote trust the work. You wrote trust it.
