Commenting on the upcoming elections in Yerevan and the country's course toward the European Union, Lukashenka cynically warned Armenians that everything in Ukraine started exactly the same way. Brazenly demanding that a sovereign state not break away from the Kremlin's influence, the dictator openly urges the Armenian people, who have just come out of a difficult war, not to rush and to be wise, making a thinly veiled threat about the consequences from Russia if they fully turn to the west.

[00:01:15]Lukashenka is actively criticizing the Europeans, who promised support to Yerevan in early May, and is trying to portray the desire for independence as someone else's political game.

[00:01:25]However, behind these hypocritical pieces of advice lies a banal fear of the complete collapse of Russian influence in the Caucasus.

[00:04:23]>> Notably, all this sudden belligerence from Minsk began right after its own aggressive actions. Back on May 12th, Alexander Lukashenka announced plans to conduct targeted mobilization of certain military units to prepare for possible combat operations.

[00:04:36]While hiding behind the usual phrases that Belarus is supposedly committed to peace, the dictator openly admitted that his army is actively preparing for a real war if necessary.

[00:04:45]>> Lukashenka claims that Belarus is committed to peace. However, the army must be ready for war if necessary.

[00:04:52]As I promised, we will selectively mobilize units to prepare them for war.

[00:04:57]God willing, it can be avoided, he said.

[00:04:59]Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin stated that the meeting discussed the results of the army's combat readiness inspections, which were carried out according to the plans of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.

[00:05:11]After the inspections, the leadership drew certain conclusions.

[00:05:15]>> Naturally, Ukraine responded to these covert threats instantly and proactively.

[00:05:19]As early as May 15th, Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially instructed the defense forces and special services to prepare a tough response plan for any provocations from Belarus. And a week later, the Security Service of Ukraine and the military moved to decisive action, introducing enhanced security measures in five northern regions of our country at once, completely sealing the border with the aggressor.

Then I think that Russia is proving that it is getting weaker and weaker on the battlefield. We see that it cannot achieve real progress on the battlefield. They can't even accomplish one of their objectives. Ukraine is getting stronger.

[00:07:58]I don't see any signs that any strikes or other attacks will change that.

[00:08:02]>> Meanwhile, Russia apparently is betting not only on the battlefield. According to the Estonian side, Moscow is deliberately trying to draw the European Union into the role of mediator in negotiations without any real desire to achieve peace.

[00:08:17]The Estonian Minister believes that the role of mediator requires neutrality.

[00:08:20]So, the European Union would not be able to simultaneously strengthen sanctions, increase military aid, and maintain pressure on the aggressor.

[00:08:28]This is exactly what Putin is aiming for, to neutralize the European Union, weaken support for Ukraine, and lift sanction pressure.

[00:08:35]Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna urges not to fall for this game.

[00:08:40]Instead of negotiations for the sake of negotiations, Europe needs strategic patience and a unified vision of the future without gray zones between the European Union, NATO, and Russia.

In fact, the EU maintains its presence and activities in Kyiv, and these threats wreak of desperation. As the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, noted in her tweet, Russia is losing on the battlefield, which is why it is once again resorting to threats against the civilian population and civilian infrastructure. The allocation of funds will depend on Budapest's implementation of the agreed reforms and the realization of investment projects within the next generation EU program. The Hungarian people deserve this. It was a race against time and we won it. And this is important for the Hungarian people.

[00:12:23]Budapest still ties its support for Ukraine's European integration to the fulfillment of 11 demands, primarily concerning the linguistic and cultural rights of the Hungarian minority.

[00:12:37]>> As for issues of culture and language, we would like our Ukrainian partners to agree to them. We have completed several rounds of discussions. We have active contacts with our Ukrainian partners on these technical matters. I hope that we will be able to resolve these 11 points and that they will be able to make the necessary changes to their legislation.

[00:12:58]>> At the same time, the new Hungarian Prime Minister is open to dialogue, unlike his predecessor. He has expressed his willingness to meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

[00:13:15]>> I would be very glad after these technical meetings to meet with the President of Ukraine in order to truly open a new chapter in relations between Hungary and Ukraine.

[00:15:03]>> Ukrainian military personnel are already undergoing training on Gripen fighter jets, and in the fall, the training program for pilots and technical staff will be expanded, announced Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson.

[00:15:14]In October 2025, Kyiv and Stockholm signed a letter of intent, which opened up opportunities for the delivery of Swedish fighter jets to Ukraine. And on May 28th, the two sides signed an agreement on the transfer of 150 Swedish multirole fighter jets, as announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson after negotiations in Stockholm. At the same time, 16 aircraft will be delivered to Ukraine at the beginning of 2027 and 22 of the latest Gripen E models by 2030.

[00:15:55]Negotiations are ongoing and we will be able to deliver these aircraft by 2030.

[00:16:01]This will expand Ukraine's air defense and strengthen Europe's air protection.

[00:16:05]We are receiving weapons and we are grateful that we are getting aircraft equipped with armaments, not just the planes themselves. These fighter jets are equipped with specific weaponry, in particular the Meteor missile, which can strike targets at a distance of over 200 km. We believe that we will be able to push out these Russian aircraft and they will not be able to use guided aerial bombs on a large scale.

[00:16:26]>> Gripen fighter jets form the backbone of the Swedish Air Force. They are constantly being upgraded and the new generation is equipped with everything necessary for modern combat, long-range radars, advanced weaponry including Meteor air-to-air missiles, as well as powerful electronic warfare systems.

[00:16:44]Gripens are cheaper and easier to maintain than, for example, the F-16, according to experts.

[00:16:49]In addition, they require a shorter runway. The Gripen can take off in 800 m and land in 600. The aircraft can be refueled and rearmed in a very short time. That means it can land with its engine running, be refueled, armed, and sent back into combat.

[00:17:05]>> Gripens, these platforms are classified as advanced fourth-generation aircraft.

[00:17:11]And indeed, the most recent and sophisticated iterations currently in service, equipped with entirely new avionics suites can be compared in several key operational respects to, for example, the F-16.

[00:17:23]And perhaps they may demonstrate the ability to even surpass them in certain specific ways.

[00:17:28]Because the F-16 Fighting Falcon as a model, even with the most advanced modern upgrades, is still, uh, let's say, not, uh, not exactly the newest of American aircraft.

[00:17:40]That is precisely why I am firmly and wholeheartedly convinced that if we can finally bridge this critical gap, we have been missing the essential aviation component with these Gripens, it would be absolutely and truly magnificent for everyone involved.

[00:17:57]>> In Sweden, they are not afraid of the Kremlin's reaction. Ulf Kristersson assured that Kyiv's partners are well aware of what Russia thinks about countries that help Ukraine and impose sanctions against the aggressor state.

[00:18:08]And the Kremlin's opinion, of course, will not make Sweden abandon its support for Ukraine.

[00:18:14]>> All the countries in our region are well prepared for various Russian reactions, hybrid threats, and the continuation of any other similar actions. So, in fact, this doesn't really change anything.

[00:18:25]>> Sweden will allocate a new aid package to Ukraine worth $2.7 million.

[00:18:31]The president of Ukraine announced $400 million will be allocated for drone production, but the majority of the funds will go toward purchasing Gripen aircraft. To acquire the fighter jets, Ukraine also plans to use credit funds from the European Union.

[00:18:46]>> We expect to receive the first Gripen aircraft within the next 10 months. For our part, we will do everything possible.

[00:18:53]>> Ukraine needs assistance from its partners to defend against massive Russian shelling. The biggest problem for Ukrainian air defense remains Russian ballistic missiles, which is why it is critically important for Ukraine that deliveries of PAC-2, GMT, and PAC-3 missiles under the Pearl program continue, stated Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
