[00:00:19]Well, imagine another country invading yours, banning your language, stealing your land, and trying to erase your culture for hundreds of years. Back in the 1200s, England invaded Wales under King Edward I.

[00:00:31]After defeating the last Welsh prince, Llywelyn Griffith, England built castles all across Wales.

[00:00:38]Basically, to control us and remind us who was in charge. But it didn't stop there. In the 1500s, the Laws in Wales Act made the English language the official language of Wales.

[00:00:50]If you wanted power, government jobs, or status, you all had to speak English.

[00:00:56]The Welsh language was treated as peasants. And even in schools, they punished our children for speaking the Welsh language. Some of them even had to wear this Welsh knot.

[00:01:06]Imagine your child getting punished speaking your own language. So, no. Most Welsh people don't genuinely hate England. But a lot of us still remember what was done to Wales and why protecting the culture still matters today.

[00:01:20]Because despite everything, Cymru is still here.

[00:02:28]We're doing West Wales today as well, so we've ventured out to South Wales.

[00:02:48]And we just got down to the beach and look at this.

[00:02:52]It's a bit of like an estuary basically coming in from there out to the sea right there, but still nice anyway. The sun is boiling.

[00:03:00]Not very often we get beautiful weather like this, so going to make the most of it. Definitely will be going in here for a dip soon, but first we're going to set the barbecue up and cook some food cuz I'm starving. Yeah, wait. We just set up a barbecue. Steve's going to be the chef. We probably just got to get the bacon on straight away cuz it cooks quicker and I'm starving. Can't lie. Got the music uh going to blast out some music. Probably do a dip as well. Let's get it started.

[00:11:27]We've just finished on the beach.

[00:11:28]Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed, to be honest, cuz even though it looks unbelievable, the water and the sand dollars is is is disgusting. It looks nice, but it's the sand and water is terrible. So, we're just going to head home now.

[00:11:43]Uh tomorrow I'm meeting up with Shawn, and we're going to be going to a waterfall, which is actually right next to my house, surprisingly. I didn't even know it existed. Shawn told me about it, so I don't know whether this video and that video become one. We'll find out. You will you you will know.
