Long bones grow in length through a specific biological process where cartilage at the growth plates is gradually converted into solid bone; once these growth plates fuse into bone, natural height growth becomes biologically impossible because the mechanism for adding new cartilage is gone, making claims about 'reopening' growth plates or methods like sprinting to increase height scientifically invalid.

Reaching your full height potential (The Hard Truth)Added:
If you're still watching videos on how to grow taller using sprinting drills or how to reopen growth plates, you are literally being scammed. Today, I'm here to end the debate. There is way too much confusion around height growth. And honestly, at this point, it's not even confusion anymore. People are refusing to understand one very simple thing.
And once you understand this, these other methods seem physically impossible and they fall apart. I've made videos on this topic before. If you're a regular viewer, you already know this. But, in this video, I want to talk about the mechanism. Because once you understand the actual mechanism of how bone length is built, everything gets much simpler than people make it sound.
When you were a baby, your bones weren't really bones in the way you think of them now. Your skeleton was mostly soft, flexible cartilage. It's a great template because it can grow fast.
As you grew, your body started turning that cartilage model into hard bone.
Right at the ends of your long bones, they left a zone open, the growth plate.
It looks like a gap on an X-ray.
This plate is made of, you guessed it, new cartilage. That matters because this cartilage is the temporary growth zone.
New cartilage is produced there. The cartilage cells go through their growth process and then that tissue is gradually replaced by mineralized solid bone. That is how length is added.
If you remember only one thing from this entire video, remember this. Long bones grow in length through cartilage first.
Then, that cartilage gets turned into solid bone.
That's it.
This is the only mechanism for increasing bone length. And once this mechanism is gone, the game changes completely. There is no more new cartilage being made. There is no more soft spot to push against. And this is where the cope starts. Once people hear that, they immediately go, "Okay, but can I reopen them?" This is what I need you to understand.
It's not that it's hard to grow after your plates close or you haven't found the right exercises yet. It is biologically impossible.
If your growth plate has already fused into bone, then for it to reopen in the natural growth sense, you would need to reverse the process.
You would need solid fused bone to go back into a functioning cartilage growth plate. Do you understand how insane that claim is?
So, when someone tells you that you can reopen your growth plates, let's think about what they are actually asking your body to do. Your growth plate is now solid bone.
To reopen it, you would have to reverse the process of ossification. Do you know what reversing ossification is? It's your bone breaking down and turning into a chaotic soft mess. Or, you would have to break the bone.
Imagine if I told you I could turn a hard-boiled egg back into a liquid one.
You'd think I was insane.
But somehow, because height is emotional, people believe they can turn solid bone back into cartilage. You cannot activate something that isn't there.
But wait, there's another argument.
Sprinting, high impact. It compresses and decompresses the bones and tells them to grow. Sounds scientific, right?
Let's apply the mechanism. When you sprint, what actually happens? Your muscles contract. They pull on tendons.
Tendons pull on the bone at specific points called insertions.
This stress does two things. It makes your muscles stronger and it makes your bones denser. Wolff's law states that bone adapts to the loads it is placed under. But it adapts by changing its shape and density. It does not push the ends of the bone further apart. Claiming sprinting makes you taller is like claiming that lifting weights makes your skeleton bigger.
It doesn't. You are just strengthening the structure, but the foundation won't extend.
That's why I say most of these methods collapse the second you ask one question, by what mechanism? How does fused bone become a functioning growth plate again? Silence. Always silence.
And you'll notice how these claims are always vague on purpose.
Oh, bro, it stimulates growth. Growth of what? Where?
People keep trying to smuggle in one true fact and stretch it into a false conclusion.
Now, I said it was impossible. And for 99% of people, it is. But there is one exception, one. And the fact that it exists actually proves my point. I want to cover it so you know the real difference between a miracle and a surgery. It's distraction osteogenesis, limb lengthening. A surgeon doesn't reopen your plate.
They break your bone, they cut the solid shaft in half, then they attach a device that slowly, agonizingly pulls the two halves apart. But here is the catch, what fills the gap? It's a soft callus, a blood clot and collagen. Then it hardens into bone, while surrounding tissues adapt over time. This works, but look at the difference. This is the most painful thing that I've ever gone through in my life. I really hope this helped clear up the confusion. Once you understand the mechanism, you focus on the things that matter.
