Is Super Meat Boy actually THAT BAD ?!

[00:00:37]And this game in particular was not very well received from the community, but it's got me thinking. Were the reactions actually valid, or was everyone just over exaggerating?

[00:00:49]Oh, that's the question I'll answer myself by being Super Meat Boy Forever.

[00:00:56]Also, if you saw my Super Meat Boy video, you would know that I have already beat this game before I even made that video. Heck, even before this game existed.

[00:01:05]But for this game, I've barely touched it, so this will be fun.

[00:01:13]The plot is pretty simple. Meat Boy's Bandage Girl's daughter, Nugget, or at least they think it's a girl, got kidnapped by Mr. Doctor Fetus instead of Pinky over here like in the original game.

[00:01:25]Anyways, we start off the game in Ship It [music] Grove, which I'll give them this, the name is at least more unique than The Forest.

[00:01:33]And even without playing the first level, you can see here that there are six levels instead of 20 like in the original game.

[00:01:41]Also, Bandage Girl is already playable.

[00:01:51]In Super Meat Boy, you have four buttons to control Meat Boy over here. The left and arrow keys to move, the space bar to jump, and the shift key to sprint.

[00:03:27]Nope, there's always a catch with everything. Dr. Fetus is trying to kill you, so you need to [music] manipulate this guy, and since this is only the first world, the boss fight was easy.

[00:03:38]After these forest menaces, >> [music] >> we get the animals who are sad about Dr. Fetus' deforestation, since he had the attitude of every single entrepreneur in this great world.

[00:03:50]But there is a difference. [music] Remember this squirrel in the original game was essentially the punching bag?

[00:03:59]Well, he's now the furthest thing from being a punching bag.

[00:10:26]Previously, we fought against a machine, a brain, a door, and a fetus.

[00:10:32]So, our next boss should obviously be against a [ __ ] god.

[00:10:38]Yeah, this is a real challenge.

[00:10:40]In the first phase, you need to deal some damage on the hands.

[00:12:58]So, after we went through, was this game actually that bad? As a game itself? No.

[00:13:05]But as a sequel, I'll say yes.

[00:13:08]I think it really respected the original platforming that the original had.

[00:13:12]But they still tried.

[00:13:14]They still tried to make a good game with this idea. And they did pretty well with the music, the mechanics, the art, heck even the story.
