Dylan Harper, a rookie guard for the San Antonio Spurs, has achieved unprecedented success in the 2025-26 NBA playoffs, becoming the first rookie guard in NBA history with multiple 10-and-10 playoff games off the bench and leading all playoff players in fourth-quarter field goal percentage (70%) among those with at least 20 attempts, demonstrating exceptional clutch performance and defensive abilities that have helped the Spurs reach the Western Conference Finals for the first time in nearly 10 years.

This is not normal...Added:
This is not normal what we are seeing right now from the Spurs, but mostly Dylan Harper as we all saw that incredible performance to put the Spurs up 3-2 in the series against the Wolves.
But some more stats have come out, some more quotes have come out from analysts, writers, fans alike about what we are seeing from Dylan Harper. And it highlights something potentially unbelievable, star-studded, and historic for the San Antonio Spurs. One quote from Bill Simmons in particular has me really excited. But it doesn't end there, right? Victor Weimyama is another huge part of this story. And what he had to say about the Wolves strategy and what one NBA legend had to say about him, I mean, what are we doing? This is this is the most hype I've been for a Spurs team. And I don't know how long. Yes, they're on the verge of making the Western Conference Finals for the first time in almost 10 years. Yet, it still feels like we're just at the beginning.
And that's what makes this completely absurd to think about. Right? The San Antonio Spurs were ahead of schedule to some extent, but also right on target by some other measures. Right? We got Fox locked down to a max contract. We went through these draft picks, but we went from a 60 loss team right to a 60 win team. And it's a bit hard to deal with that sometimes if you're a team and all that happens all at once. But the Spurs are dealing with with it like pros specifically when it comes to their maturity. And I got a whole lot of stuff to get into, but I want to start by reminding you guys that this video is brought to you by Prize Pics. And we got some great picks coming up later. It is the best way to get in on the action.
And if you use code digest down below the link in the description or pin comment and when you download prize pics, you get $50 when you play your first $5 in lineups. And we'll get into some picks for the next Spurs game coming up. But I want to start talking about Victor Winyama. I mean, who else, right? Victor Winyama is the star of this team. He is one of the future greatest of all time. But it's his mentality and I I feel like I talk about this a whole lot in videos because it is important, right? Like every time he speaks, I want to listen even though he's a decent bit younger than me. Not that old, but I feel like it sometimes.
Anyway, it doesn't matter. Look at what he had to say. Wimpy is also one of the one of the youth, right? I mean, I like to think, like I said, not that old, but I feel like the rage baiting feel like the rage baiting would have been maybe one of their strategies. I just feel like we need to stay a post as a team.
Now, what on earth is he talking about?
Well, he's very much talking about Iodum sumu and Anthony Edwards. Part of that early in the game last, I think it was the first quarter, they both kind of put their hands on him. I sumu looking like a kid looking at his dad like I don't know what he was doing. He was kind of freaking out. Wy just smiled, laughed at him. Get your hands off me. Get your hands off me. He didn't push him. Just like get your hands off me. Aunt tried to step in. Aunt and Webby seem to have good rapport. They definitely respect each other. Get your hands off me. And then Wemby proceeded to throw one down on the Wolves immediately after. Uh it's been unbelievable to see this and I love just to hear, you know, he's like, "Hey, I know what the strategy is, but listen, we just got to stay composed. Who what other 22-year-old is saying this?" But look, this is just one part of it, right? I want to go into some other insane stuff. One stat, one quote. U and this quote from Paul Pierce, I'm not even going to wait around. I'm just going to show you. You hear this from NBA legends like you you're starting to see you already saw legends talk about how good Webby is, right? Shaq said the the most perfect big man ever built.
Paul Pierce, this is the best basketball player I've ever seen play. He is the most complete player we've ever seen play the game. Like we can talk about Braun Jordan Joker, but he is the most complete player in the history of the game. Is it that insane to say? Is it that crazy to think that Victor Wvenyama is already the most well-rounded complete player in the in NBA history?
Well, no. And that's insane, right?
Like, it's it's not insane to say one of the most insane things ever. I got to stop using that word, but to say a 22-year-old in their first playoff run doing what he's doing is the most well-rounded player ever. Yeah, he probably is. And it's not crazy to think so. But I got some stats to even back it up, right? It's not just Paul Pierce saying this. You know, love or hate him.
He has some good takes, some bad takes.
Depends on if it fits my narrative. And today it does. So, I'm showing you the the thing he said. But I want to show you something else. And it's Victor Wyama compared to a Spurs legend. A lot of your guys' favorite players, one of my favorite players ever, though my number one favorite, y'all know if you watch the channel, is one of the other members of the big three. But we're talking about Tim Duncan here today. No, it's not Tony Parker. If you thought I was about to say Tony Parker, I don't know what planet you're on. Um, but this is from Stat Muse. The left is Duncan.
Let me actually show it in this view.
The left is Duncan in his first playoffs. The right is WBY in his first playoffs. They both played nine games.
They both average about 20 points a game, though. Tim Duncan played about 13 more minutes tonight. Though again, the pace was a lot slower back then, so fair enough. And again, you know, pace does matter when it comes to these things.
You get more opportunities for rebounds.
You get more opportunities for blocks.
But it still is completely absurd when you look at the comparison.
4.2 blocks. First of all, Timmy 2.6 blocks per game. That was ridiculous.
WBY 4.2 blocks per game in his nine playoff games. Mind you, he's only completed seven of them. Like he he's only finished seven of these games. He got knocked out with a concussion in one and of course he got kicked out of another. So, in really only seven complete games, averaging 4.2 blocks, 29 minutes tonight, 11 boards, 20 points.
He's outdoing Duncan across the board.
But the most impressive by far is the true shooting. Web is a guy who throughout his career so far has had moments where he's prone to being inefficient because he'll shoot a lot more jumpers than maybe people are expecting. And uh well, when his jumper's not on, the you know, the efficiency drops a little bit. But in these recent games, he's getting to the basket a lot more against Rudy Gober, no less. His true shooting is going through the roof. He had some great performances against Portland as well that's helping that. But the fact that Timmy was now, you know, it's I'm not going to say Timmy was a pure back down, you know, always right next to the rim finishing.
I think some people who don't remember watching him think that. Now, Timmy could space out a little bit. He took post phase hooks, a lot of stuff that was a little more outside and around. He liked shooting those mid-range jumpers.
But regardless, it's not like Timmy's true shooting was bad, like 55 56%. It's just that Webby's is absurd through nine games. And Webby has a chance to help his team punch a ticket to the conference finals. So, that on its own is great. But when we're talking about the Spurs right now, we got to talk about Dylan Harper because Dylan Harper has been doing stuff that I just didn't think, not that I didn't think it was possible from a rookie because first of all, it's not often that rookies get the chance to to showcase themselves like Harper is doing in the playoffs because a lot of the times the greatest rookies that are coming into a class are going to the worst teams. Not always, but you know, it happens. And a great rookies can make a team great, but it took WMY a few years. Like even the greatest of great like WBY, like LeBron, they you don't see it instantly. But Harbor was lucky enough to be put into a situation where he can do this right now. And he's already making history. And I brought this up in uh last night's postgame with Keenan in game five. He now the first rookie guard in NBA history with multiple 10 and 10 playoff games off the bench. I think he's the youngest one to get multiple 10 and 10 games something in a playoffs as a rookie since Dererick Rose or something like that. I'm misquing that stat. There was something that was like him and Dererick Rose, which is cool because yeah, Dererick Rose is one of my favorite players ever.
But uh this is from yesterday. We got some more stuff. Um and I want to show you this one because I think this might be the most impressive one of the day.
So this is from Stat Defender, which is a fantastic follow if you're not following. Best fourth quarter field goal percentage in the 2025 26 NBA playoffs with a minimum of 20 field goal attempts. No small sample size BS around here. This is just straight up people who are getting shots. Now, it's not per game. It's just total. But, you know, that's what you want, right? You want that sample size. 20 field goal attempts in the clutch. I think that's fair. Mind you, the Spurs have also had some blowouts. So, the clutch moments for the Spurs, they matter. Dylan Harper leads every single player in the entire playoffs in fourth quarter field goal percentage who have taken at least 20 field goal attempts. He leads everyone 70% from the field in fourth quarters in the playoffs so far. Dylan Brooks gh gross 65.2 cadet homegrren 62% and then everyone else they're below 60. Nazare LeBron being here is also bananas. I don't see Shay here though the Thunder have been blowing out a good bit of their game so far. But look still it doesn't matter. Chad's there. So um that is like put that into perspective. Like I don't I don't know what to compare that to. Like what do you what 70% in the fourth quarter and he's actually taking shots. And this is where this this narrative, but it's true. It's not even just a narrative. It's like that this fact that Dylan Harper is doing like unheard of stuff. It's not supposed to happen. And Bill Simmons put it really nicely when he said this in the playoffs. The stuff he's doing is like year three, year four Kobe where he's just coming in and changing the flow of these games. He shouldn't be doing this yet. I mean, he's right. Dylan Harper shouldn't be doing this yet. You you you Well, again, like I said, you don't often see players uh rookies like this get a chance to show it in the playoffs, but he's comparing it to year three, year four, Kobe. He's comparing him to another young guy who was 21, 22 years old, but Harbor is still that young rookie. One year in college at Ruckers and now he's here. So, like that's just ridiculous, right? And even at the ring, Rob Mahoney wrote a great article talking about Dylan Harper. And I liked this excerpt because I think it really summarizes what we're so excited about with Harper as well. Yes, they're coming in and being electric looking like the most looking like he's better than Fox at some points. I'm just going to say that like he just he kind of does. And you know what? Like if the point guards all average out to be worth their contract, I'm okay. We'll deal with that other Fox contract when we get to it.
Lots of playoffs to be played. I still really like De'Arren Fox. I know a lot of you don't. I'm still standing on the hill that I like Darren Fox. This is not the point of the video. Rob Mahoney wrote this, "Teams don't win championships when every player is slotted into the perfect form fitting role. They win it all when they have a roster so talented the key players are ready for more." He then gave some examples, but went on to say, "Parper takes that same concept and supercharges it with jet fuel." Yeah, he does. He really does. You watch him come into the game and I'll just roll these highlights again down here. The behind the back, the the other direction. Manuinoboli tweeting out that double behind the back into the dunk that Dylan Harper did that had WMBBY grabbing his head wondering what happened. Look, there it is again.
One, two, step up, jam it home. Dylan Victor just didn't know what he saw. And even going back like finishes in the paint and I think that was game two or game three. The stuff he's able to do on the court is insane. And it reminds me a lot of Manu. It just the the deceleration, the footwork, plus the defense, dude. like the the defense is one of the most incredible things I've seen from him. He's had some incredible half court defense on Anthony Edwards and I still I will say it every chance I get. You're probably sick of hearing me say it, but Dylan Harper's ability to play lockdown defense is so underrated because the the highlights are these kind of clips, but knowing what him and Carter Bryant and Stefon Castle and Wemby are able to do on the defensive end of the ball is just what makes the Spurs so so good. And I actually have one final graphic to show you on that note. So, this took it off of Twitter.
You can see it was visualized being hoopology hoopology viz.com. Uh, I'm actually going to find who originally set this up. Devin Bird song. I found it. And I loved seeing this here. Uh, so the higher up on the Y ais, straight up and down, the lower the opponent field goal percentage. The further on the x- axis this way, is how many field goal attempts the opponents are taking.
Opponents are taking the most field goals against the Spurs field goal attempts than any team in the playoffs.
the Spurs are giving up the most field goal attempts against.
Yet at the same time, the San Antonio Spurs are holding other teams to the lowest field goal percentage. Um, the Spurs defense is absolutely smothering.
And a few of these massive blowouts, 30 points, 40 points are helping these numbers, but again, the defense is what wins championships. I know it's an old adage, but it really means a lot. And yes, we can talk about Dylan Harper's offense, but his defense, Stefan Castle, WBY, whoever, doesn't matter. It's unbelievable. See what we're seeing.
Look, I'm so excited. I you can probably tell I'm also exhausted, which you can probably also tell with the I know some of you wonder if I drink 10 shots of caffeine before these videos. Getting real for a moment. I don't I think this is more this is closer to who I actually am. But sometime, you know, I just get excited when that camera comes on, man.
I get to talk Spurs and I don't hope you guys appreciate that. Thank you for watching this video. But final thing before we go, y'all know we got to talk about prize picks. And don't forget, do not forget that every time you enter a lineup, you get a chance to win two tickets to the NBA finals. So, make sure you download it down below using code digest. It also helps out the channel a ton. It really does. Thank you for supporting Spurs to win. Easiest pick.
End this. End it in Minnesota. Break their hearts. I want to see WBY. High five. Handshake with Anthony Edwards to go Bear. Send them home. They just got to drive home. They don't have to go to the hotel and fly back. Not end it there in Minnesota. They don't have to leave.
I'm sure they're going to go somewhere else other than Minnesota in the offseason. Going to get a little although it's summertime so it's not going to be that cold there. Anyway, that's one pick. Uh, the other pick, same one as yesterday when we talked about with Keenan. Anthony Edwards, 19 and a half points. Pick the more. Um, this is a do or die game for Anthony Edwards. Stefan Castle, you want a statement? Him and Harper. These guys, I'm picking them more in 14 and a half points. And the big one, the one that's probably the hardest, Victor, 27 and a half points. I'm picking them more. It just feels right. It feels like this is the time the Spurs are going to make this history. Nine years in the making, man. get back to those conference finals. Wim is going to drop 30. Castle is going to have 18, seven and six or something. And Anthony Edwards is going to try his hardest, but it's not going to be enough. Thank you for watching every single day. I'm so excited for the game tomorrow. I've been your host, Josh Goss. You know where to find me. and I'll catch you for the next
