Wilcom Library Live EventAdded:
Heat. Hey, Heat.
Hey.
Heat. Heat.
Good morning, good afternoon, and wherever you're coming from. Welcome to our Woolcom Live. My name is Brendan Presnner. I am the chief product officer here at Woolcom, and it is my pleasure to present our Woolcom live event about library today. Now, before we get started into that, this live event is actually part of a broader series we're doing here at Wulcom during a time that we like to call Stitchfest, a celebration that we have at least now twice a year. And if you're not familiar with StitchFest, head over to our website at woolcom.com and up the top you will see a banner called Stitchfest. Click on that there and it will take you directly to the list of all the really cool events we have coming on over this month period.
And it really is a month of learning, creating, and celebrating. And if you scroll down past all these wonderful promotions, which of course we hope you take advantage of, head down to our calendar, and you'll see all the events that we have on here across the entire Woolcom product range. So, jump on, check them out. There's lots of great events there. There's live events like this one here. There's pre-recorded events. There's download, there's videos, there's hints and tips, expert tips, and if you missed anything, there's a bunch of pre-recorded stuff down below that you can go and catch up on as well. Now, it's going for the entire month and finishing up on June the 12th, Friday, which is actually World Vegemite Day. And actually, I just realized, and this was a coincidence, I'm actually wearing my good luck Vegemite socks on this morning that my kids got me for Christmas. So, we're finishing up on Vegemite Day. And of course, I had my Vegemite toast this morning to get me ready for this live event. Um, now it is bright and early here in Sydney. It's just ticked over 500 a.m. and I'm joined in our live chat by Susan Goodman, who you've probably seen on some of the Stitch Fest events that we've been having going on uh throughout this entire week. And Susan is there to help me in the chat. And there is live chat on of course both uh Facebook and YouTube as we go through.
As you have a question uh please add your question to that chat. Uh Susan will go through and answer them as we go along and at the end I'll swing back to and answer some of those uh questions as well. But during the most of it I will be uh you know focusing on the demonstration to give you as much information as I can on Wilcom library.
Now you might be familiar with library.
You might have seen some of our testing videos. You might have seen some of the social media post or you might be a subscriber yourself. And we thank you very much for that. But let's start from the very beginning and talk a little bit about what Library is before we jump into the demonstration. Well, first and foremost, Library is a design management system in the cloud built for embroidery. It's a powerful searching tool, meaning within seconds you can find any embroidery design. Now, of course, what's most important, it is secure and it is safe and it is a backup of your most embroidery important assets, which are your embroidery designs. Now, it is a multi-user collaboration tool, meaning you can give access to as many of your team members to library as you want. And the great thing about it is it works in the browser. There's no installed software.
So, whether it's a Mac, PC, iPad, Android, tablet, it just works. And of course, there's a whole lot more wrapped around the library product. which I will go through and demonstrate as a part of this session. Now again, if you do have a question, throw that in the chat and our team will be there to answer them for you. So let's jump straight over to it. Let's have a look at what library is. Now library again is a cloud-based design management system. So like you see here, it just works in the browser.
You open up a browser, you log into library, and you get instant access to your embroidery designs. Now, it's highly visual because let's face it, we work in a visual trade. We deal with logos and images. Often, we remember by the design we've done more than the customer itself. So, it's highly visual.
And again, it's designed for embroidery.
So it overcomes a lot of the challenges you have with generic storage systems like Google Drive or Dropbox or other solutions like that that doesn't understand or DST or Azroy file. This does. This completely understands that it's an embroidery file and shows you all the information you need as an embroiderer with that file.
So again, it's highly visual. You can scroll down and see all your embroidered designs in full rich true view display.
You can see the thumbnail. You can see the file name, the description that you've given that file and even the status of that design. So in this case, it's waiting on approval. This one's approved. This one needs sampling. Now you can also change from a thumbnail view to a list view and get a little bit more information. Still you see the thumbnail just a little bit smaller. You get the title, the customer. You still see the status. You get to see the size, what that design was built for. So, left chest, large back, sleeve, whatever it might be, the stitch count, and just when you uploaded that design to uh to library.
Now, again, highly visual. It's easy to see, but you might have hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of embroidered designs. So, scrolling and finding a design isn't exactly the most efficient way to do that. So, of course, you use the search tools of library. And they're all located up here in the top.
Now, we can start off by searching by just simply typing in what we're looking for. So, maybe find all of our golf logos. and it's found all my designs that contain the word golf. And what you might have noticed is just how fast it is. As I'm typing on screen, it's doing that filtering for me live. So, I'll start off by just pressing the letter R.
It's now showing every single design that contains the letter R. If I press I, now showing me every design that contains R and I. So, it's live and it's fast. If I continue searching for that, then again, I get my exact search results. Again, nothing is installed.
This is all running in the browser. So, if I was on my iPad, I'd get the same results. If I was on my Android tablet, I'd get those same results. It's really, really fast.
Now, I've got that information.
What can I do with that design? Well, let's click on this one here. it will open up the side panel and give me access to more information about that design. Now, there's a bunch of tabs here. There's the summary tab, the design tab, colorways, and attachments.
Now, of course, I get a thumbnail of my design, so I know exactly what I'm looking at. Now, the summary tab is just an overview of that particular design.
It tells me the customer that I've added for that design. It tells me the decoration area that that design is created for. It's got the status. In this case, this one is approved, the size, when I upload it, when I modified it, and some tags that I've associated to that design, and maybe any notes that I might have as a part of that design.
Now, all of this is editable. So, even the design name, if I want to change the design name, I can. or the description or the customer or the keywords or the tags. They're all editable by you because it's your embroidery design.
Now, on the design tab, we show the more technical information about the design because again, this is built for embroidery. And as an embroiderer, you want to know certain information. You want to know the size of the design, how many stitches are in that design, how many colors or colorways, what format that design was built for.
In this case, it's built for Tajjima TBF format, uh whether I had a hoop selected, or you might nominate a particular hoop because, you know, it has a little bit of movement or you just want to make sure it stitches out in a particular way. The colors, the stops, the trims, and a whole lot more. Now, this is an embroidery design. So, of course, it's embroidery, my location, and then more technical information, including how many objects, appliques, bling, sequins, or beads that are in that design. So, if I cancel that and say search for any designs with sequins, and I've got one, we can now see that this sequin design has 64 objects and 570 sequins. So, I need to have at least 570 sequins on my reel to stitch out that embroidery design. Again, all that information is available for you. Let's go back to Riverside again and grab that design.
The next tab is the colorway tab. Now, as you know with Woolcom Embroidery Software, we support multiolorways. So, if you own Woolcom Embroidery Studio and you open up that embroidery design and you add a second, third, or 10 colorways, they're all stored in that EMB file. And that's really, really important because how you stitch that design on, in this case, my Woolcom logo, if that was on a black shirt, my Wulcom text would of course have to be white or a different color. So, we support those different colorways and we store that in the embroidered design.
But we've built that capability into library. So, even if you don't own Woolcom Embroidery Studio, you can bring your design into library. You can click on colorways, open that design in Trueizer, which by the way comes free and standard with library, but we'll talk a little bit more about that in a moment. And I can add those additional colorways and they're forever stored in that file and forever stored in Woolcom Library. So, if you lose your production worksheet and you've lost all those colors, they're forever stored digitally in the Woolcom library system. So really important part of this aspect. Colorways are fully supported.
On the next tab is attachments. Now again that could be anything. It might be the original artwork that your customer provided you. Uh it could be an Excel document with the order information. It could be a photograph that you took of the end product. So maybe you've stitched it out. You've taken a photograph of it. You've attached that to that design record. So the next time your machine operator needs to stitch out that design, they can look at that attachment and see exactly where that design is located on that product. So it's a perfect record.
Basically use it for whatever you want.
You can put any attachment associated to that design onto that record there.
So, all the information you need to understand what the design is and who's it for, the technical information you need to make sure you stitch it out correctly, the colors to make sure you use the right colors, and any additional attachments to support the creation or use of that embroidered design. Again, all of that is stored here in the cloud, meaning if you walk out to the production room and pick up your iPad and find that design, all that information will be sitting there waiting for you. or if you're sitting in the beach in Hawaii, you get access to all that information as well because it's all stored in the cloud. Now, aside from the information that we store against the embroidered design, there's a bunch of things you can do with that embroidered design in Woolcom Library.
And we have all these actions up here in the top section of library. Start off with the open. If I click on that, it will open that design directly into True Sizer again in the cloud. You don't have to have any installed desktop software.
You don't even have to own Woolcom Embroidery Studio or Hatch. We'd love you to, but you don't have to. You can just open it directly into True Sizer in the cloud. And you can add new colorways, you can resize, you can rotate it and do a whole bunch of other things. And True Sizer comes free and standard with your library subscription.
So, it's all built in as a part of that platform.
In addition to opening it in Trueizer, I can download that original file. If I want to take it away for whatever reason, grab that AMB file and give it to someone else or open it into desktop software. I can do that.
I can also export that design for the embroidery machine. So, if I'm ready to do that in production, I just click on that icon here and choose Whoop. Select that again.
Let's try that one more time.
export.
Looks like we're not getting the export dialogue box for some reason.
The perks of doing the live demo. So, actually, just to fill you in on what has actually happened this morning when Susan and I first got in, our network isn't working. So, I wasn't able to connect to the network. So, I'm currently streaming from my mobile phone. So hopefully you're getting enough connector in there which might be why maybe not getting that export dialog box but we'll see how we go along. Of course I can print off my production worksheet where I get a view of my production worksheet with the barcode all the information I need to get that to the machine operator the threads the colors the size and the width. I can also do a one scale preview of that embroidery and I can also visualize it as a PNG file that I can send to my customer. Now hopefully you are getting all of this cuz I am getting some connection issues on my Wi-Fi, but we'll see how we go through as I'm connected to my mobile phone. So hopefully you are getting this live feed and Susan throw me a chat if we are getting any delay or connection issues as we go along there.
Again, it's all done in the cloud. None of this is using desktop software. It's all done in the browser. So again, if you're not a PC person, but you're using broader designs, then you can use library. If you are running on a iPhone or a iPad or an Android tablet, again, it just runs in the browser. You can do all of that in the cloud. Now, let's go through the process and let's upload an embroidery design. Now, just to make sure that we are getting the right connection, I'm just going to do a quick refresh now that I've reconnected to my phone. And we'll just get that connected up again one more time. Now, again, it's in the browser. It runs in the cloud. Now, all your designs are safely secured in the Woolcom server.
They're 100% encrypted. No one else other than you and the team members that you give access to that embroidered design get access to those. And we'll talk a little bit about our team management at the end of the session.
Something that we probably don't talk enough about at Wulom, but we have a complete team management built into Wulcom that you as a Wulcom user have access to today. It's not an enterprise level product that we've added to our platform. It's a standard part of owning a Wulcom account. You can log in and set up as many users as you want. And we'll touch on a little bit about that in the context of library at the end of this session. But now let's go through and let's upload a brand new design because it's all about getting your designs into the library system. To do that, we just press upload design.
Now again, we support all Wilcom supported file format. So even if you're not a Wilcom embroidery software user and don't have EM files, you can upload DST, TBF, Happy Zsk file, it doesn't matter. All of them are supported. So I'll grab this uh SLA uh Slater's soccer club logo here and we'll press open.
Now it might be a little bit slower cuz I am running it on my iPhone, but let's see how we go. Again, I guess proving that hey, you can even run this on your iPhone. Um it's now uploaded that design. The first thing it's done is shown me a overview of the design. It's got a thumbnail of that design so I can see what I'm uploading. It's extracted some information from that design. I know the size. I know the stitches. And I know the colors for that design. In this case, we've only got one color way, but it could have multiple colorways.
Now, it's brought in the file name as what it was on my Windows computer. I can rename it to whatever I want here in library. And I can give it a title. In this case, I'll just call it the uh Slater Soccer Store.
Now, I choose a customer. From the drop-own list, I can select the customer or just start typing. If that customer exists, it will filter and show that I have that customer. In this case, I don't have Slater's soccer store. So, I'll start a brand new customer. And I just do that by typing in Slater's soccer store and press enter. And that customer is now created. It is now a permanent customer that I and all my team members get access to in library.
Now, it's defaulted as embroidery because it is an embroidery file. That makes sense. Now, I can choose a status.
Um, now this design is digitized, but I've not sampled it yet. So, I want to make sure it gets sampled. So, I'll put it in the needs sampling status. This design is designed for a left chest and a right chest.
And now I can enter a bunch of tags. And this is where you can see a bit of Wilcom intelligence AI. We've built into this library system. It has looked at that embroidery design and it has picked up a soccer ball. So, we'll add that.
It's picked up a person. So, we'll add that. You kind of think it looks like a poster and you can't blame it. It kind of does look like a poster, but I can also add my own tags as well. So, I can just add soccer.
You can add your own tags or let AI choose them for you using Woolcom intelligence, which saves you a lot of time when you're uploading your designs.
Next, I can put in a description. Now, it might be production notes. So, it might be use particular tearway backing.
It might be special information. It might be that you can only use this design on polo shirts. It's whatever you want. It's notes that you put as a part of that embroidery design. And then again, you can attach all those attachments. So again, it might be the order form, the original artwork, um it could be anything, just an attachment that gets associated with that design.
And I'll click on upload. Now we'll let that go in the background. Again, I'm streaming this through my iPhone, so let's hope this happens at a pretty fast pace. But what's happening is it's taking all that information out of that embroidery file, extracting all the objects, all the thread colors, the sizes, the stitch count. It's creating the one scale embroidery view, the thumbnail, all that other information, and it's turning it into a record in Wilcom Library. And there it is. It's created that for me. It's got my status.
It's got the information that I placed on it and it's got all that other information associated with that design.
Now, instantly any of your other team members that are using library, whether they're in the office next door in Susan's just out on a desk in the in the main office area or she could be on a beach in Hawaii, she'll get instant access to that embroidered design to be used.
So, if you have a department or a team member and it is their responsibility to stitch out a sample or that's your 300 p.m. job every single day, you can come to library and you can say, "Show me all my designs that need sampling." And there they are. Start from the top, work your way down, sample it out, take a photograph of it, put it as an attachment against the attachment as a permanent record of what it looks like in the real world. change it status to say, "Hey, it's been sampled. Now I need to send it to the customer for approval or it's ready for production." And the design will just continue through that workflow again. And again, I'm doing all that in the cloud with no software installed on my computer, literally running through my iPhone right now while our network is currently down in in Sydney. Um, and by the way, it is 5:00 in the morning, so we're not expecting it to be in until a little bit later, but we'll we'll worry about that later.
really simple to get your design into library. Really simple to categorize it.
Add all the tags. Add all the keywords to make sure you will never lose a design again. Now, as I went through all of that, I chose decoration locations.
I chose production and other information and tags and a whole bunch of other things which are shared across your entire organization. But you're probably thinking, well, I don't use those statuses and I don't use those decoration areas and tags are all whatever you use. They're they're empty.
But as you start adding more tags, they get added to your company collection of tags. Well, it doesn't matter if you don't use those statuses or those decoration areas because they're completely customizable by you because everyone has their own workflow. These are just default statuses that we've included in the system and default decoration areas that we've included for you. But all them can be managed in the backend settings of library which only you as the owner or as the admin of library get access to. So when you set up library the first user is the owner of library and that would typically be yourself or the manager in the business or the boss. They are the ones that set up and configure all the library backend system. And again, it is running a little bit slow cuz I am running on my iPhone stream at the moment. But when it pops up, I get access to my settings.
And from here, we let you configure all the design statuses. Again, these are just the defaults that we brought into Woolcom Library. If you don't do sampling, you can disable it. If you don't do digitizing, you can disable it.
Or you could add your own custom status as well and give it a particular color.
So if you have a particular status like um it requires um second level approval because it's a sensitive design and make it purple, you can make that status make it purple and then apply that status to embroidered design. This is your business. So you can set it up in a way that you want it to be. And the same thing is for decoration areas. Again, if you don't use all those decoration areas, you can disable them or you can again make your own that suit your business needs, but they're all controlled in the back admin area. While we're here, this is where you can also set up your thread collections that are used in Woolcom Library. You might use Madiraa or Sulky or whatever it might be. You can configure that here. You can also set up your user access because again we are a multi-user application. You can set up the user and assign which of the apps you want them to get access to whether it's embroidery studio or estimator or true sizer or just library. So based on their role they get access to the apps that they need. And by the way that's a standard part of woolcom. It's not an enterprise level management system. Every single one of you have access to this right now. And if you've never seen this before, the best way to get access to it is go to wom.com, log in, click on the download uh sorry, the dropown of your profile and click on admin tools. It will take you directly to this screen where you can set up all your users, your organization, and even manage all your application licenses all in the cloud. So this is available now for you to set up straight away. So grab all your licenses and then assign them to the different users across your organization. A really simple way for you as the owner of your business to manage your entire woolcom experience for your team. So again, it's all configurable. As you update all this information, that will update your library live. You don't need to copy files to different computer. Everyone using library will get instant access to all those new options and settings that you've configured as a part of the system.
So, a lot there. It's fast, it's flexible, it's designed for embroidery.
It overcomes all the challenges that you have with generic design systems like um Google Drive or or Dropbox. It doesn't support embroidery or understand what embroidery is. Library is tailored for exactly that. One other important feature though I want to show you which is a really important feature. Sometimes people delete a design. Now, first of all, the ability to delete the design is controlled based on what permissions they've got in library. Now, there's the owner yourself that you can do pretty much anything. And there's a regular member of a library. Now, if a member comes through and deletes a design because they accidentally uploaded the wrong design, they first of all have to acknowledge that they're going to delete that design. But it doesn't delete it forever. It actually puts it over to the recycling bin where we store all those designs for 30 days in case you ever want to come back and recover that design again. So, if I click on my recycling bin, I'm logged in as the owner, so I get a slightly different view to what your members will see, but I see all my designs in my recycling bin. I see how many days they've got left before they'll be deleted. And this one's going to go today. It's got zero days left. It's rocking out the door by the end of today. But I directly from this screen as the owner, I can come through and restore that design or if Jack deleted his own design, he can come and restore that design. But Jack as a member can't permanently delete designs.
Only you as the owner can. Only you can come through and empty that recycling bin or delete designs on a one-on-one basis or restore all those designs.
you've got full access to that as an owner and that is protected so your users can't accidentally delete your designs for you. And a really important thing again all done in the cloud. I've got no software installed. It's multi-user access. It's secure. It's safe. You can log on and get your designs if you're flying 30,000 ft with free in-flight Wi-Fi. You can pull up a design. You can make a change to it. You can put it in library. set it for production and your team can download it for it immediately in your factory and start stitching that away for you.
So, a lot to cover and if you do want to find out more, head over to our website at woolcom.com/workspace/ library. You can read all the information on it. You can check out all the different options, watch a few more videos, and learn a little bit more about what library does. Um, and of course I'm happy to hang around and answer as many questions for you as you've got inside our live chat. So do pop that question there and there. I know Susan's been in there at the moment furiously going through having a chat to everyone. And I might just go see who's popped in. So good day Rick. Good to see you again. We got Frank who uh we see almost at every trade show when we go over to Printware promotion most of our live events.
Thanks for joining us Frank. We've got uh Doug. Good day Doug. How you doing?
And we got a few others down there. Um, so what else have we got?
Does it support only Woolcom embroidery files? Well, no. So the good thing about library is it is a file agnostic uh platform. So, even if you don't own uh Wukcom embroidery software, if you're not an embroidery software user and you might 100% outsource your embroidery design production and all you get back is a DST file. You can use Woolcom Library. You can upload that embroidery file. You can still do all the same capabilities that I've done with library today. Even add new colorways. We'll convert it to an ENB file for you and store that away as a part of that embroidery design. You can add customers, keywords, tags, descriptions, all of that is supported. Again, even if you aren't a Woolcom software user. Now, of course, if you do own Woolcom embroidered software, there's a whole lot more you can do with that embroidered file, which is great. Um, and Google is now telling me it's 5:33 a.m. and giving me my morning update, which it usually does when I wake up in the morning. Um, again, it is bright and early, and that's my morning wake up back in Sydney when I uh want to find out what the weather is. So, let me just unplug that for a sec. Um, again, you don't need to own WOM software. It is uh uh embroidery file agnostic and we support over 24 different embroidery files.
Um, now again, it is in the cloud, so there's no desktop software in installed. Uh, it's safe, it's secure, and that's often some something people are concerned about putting their content in the cloud, but it is 100% encrypted. The massive advantage of that um if something terrible happens with your computer, if your computer dies or your hard drive dies or worse scenario, your business, you know, catches on fire or something horrible like that happens, all your designs are completely stored and secured in the cloud. Um actually, a little funny story about that. Well, not so much of a funny story, funny from the customer's perspective when he told me, but I thought it was quite tragic. We had a customer in the UK. um his uh unfortunately his embroidery business burnt down twice, believe it or not.
Now, in both cases, he had the oldfashioned Tricop. I'm not sure if you remember the old Woolcom uh security card that would slot into a computer.
Well, he had the old Tricoft card and the first time the Tricop card survived the fire, so he was able to pull it out.
The second time he lost it, and he was probably one of the only customers I knew in the world at that point in time that still had an old-fashioned Tricoft card. So he lost his embroidery license as a part of that. He lost all of his embroidery designs. But now with everything being digital, you have a digital license. You can swap it on from computer to computer. You don't lose that dongle. You don't lose that license. Same thing now with your embroidery designs. You store them in library. They're 100% secure. They're safe and they're fully backed up. So you can jump on from computer to computer at any point in time and get full access to those embroidery designs.
So, I hope we've answered all your questions. If you do have any more questions, I am told at the moment it is getting a little bit laggy and I can see that too with my bars on my phone getting a little bit lower. So, I do apologize if we are getting some connection issues, but we will hang around for a little bit longer. We'll pop up the the Woolcom logo. If you do have any questions, we'll sit in our chat and get those answered for you.
These will be available, I'm told, as a recording later, so you can swing back and watch that at a later date. But with that, I just want to thank you for joining us as a part of our event.
Again, head over to wilcom.com/workspace/ library to learn more. And thank you for joining us on our live. We'll talk to you soon.
