Primary elections are democratic processes where voters select their preferred candidate within a political party to compete in the general election. In Pennsylvania's 3rd Congressional District, four Democratic candidates are competing to replace retiring Congressman Dwight Evans, with Chris Rabb and Sharif Street considered front-runners. This primary is particularly significant because no Republican candidates are on the ballot, making it the decisive election for selecting the next representative from Philadelphia. The voting deadline is 8:00 PM, with mail-in ballots needing to be received by that time to be counted.

A look at the race for Philly's 3rd District追加:
Voters will head to the polls in Pennsylvania in about an hour and a half. Primary, chance to make your choice for the party's candidate for governor, Congress, and the state house. NBC 10's Lily Jang live for us at a polling place in Mount Airy. We've got two candidates in a key race voting there today. Lily.
Keith, good morning to you. Yeah, that's correct. Those two candidates being a state representative Chris Rabb as well as Dr. Ala Stanford. Now, Rabb will be here at the Grace Epiphany Episcopal Church. Dr. Stanford will be at Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting. Both are among the candidates in the race to replace retiring Congressman Dwight Evans.
WE GOT A FIGHT, Y'ALL, on our hands. AND WHEN THERE'S A FIGHT, WHO DO YOU SEND TO THE FRONT LINES BUT THE That's Senator Cory Booker rallying for state Senator Sharif Street yesterday.
It was a final push to get voters out today. Street, Rabb, Stanford, and candidate Shawn Griffith have made their cases in their bids for Congress. Rabb and Street, considered the front-runners, have been joined by prominent political leaders over the past few days with pre-election rallies.
Dr. Stanford received a big endorsement from singer Patti LaBelle yesterday. It was the same day that Griffith made his case in Center City. Now, Pennsylvania District 3 cuts across Philadelphia. It does include West, North, and Northwest Philly. There is no Republican on the ballot in this race, making this primary key to picking the next member of Congress from Philadelphia. Now, back out here live. As long as you are in line to vote by 8:00 tonight, you are able to cast a ballot. If you have a mail-in ballot, your county election office, they must receive that ballot by 8:00 tonight to make sure that it counts. But, for now, reporting live in Chestnut Hill. Lily Jang, NBC 10 News.
We've got interviews with the candidates and a complete guide to the primary.
