Julie Albert: A Deception Preview, What We Learn About Elizabeth Proctor

[00:00:09]>> I want to take you through this particular stretch because it is is you have to see it's must see. Okay.

[00:00:20]So, I'm in the process of recording the second installment of the deception analysis of Julie Albert's video, and it's so massive. Everything she says is deception, but it's also a good teaching video. I really want you to see because I feel like everything I talk about and all of us that do this work talk about all the time plays out right in front of us with her. So, I want to show you this one series of Q&A that happens quick so you can see what it is that we're always talking about.

[00:01:04]Okay. So, let's watch here.

[00:01:08]>> How do you usually communicate with her?

[00:01:10]Is it in person, Facebook, social media, voice calls, texts, all the above?

[00:01:18]>> I'm not, you know, text, voice call, you know. Yeah, a little bit of that. I mean, as in social media, as if, you know, um, you like a picture. So, it's pretty impressive the way she tries to like, yeah, a little bit of that, little bit of that, you know, text and voice. Like, she tries to minimize it.

[00:01:43]She will not say that she's even friends with Courtney Proctor throughout this.

[00:01:48]She will not use the word friends. She will stop herself before she says the word friends and then replace it with friendly.

[00:01:55]We're friendly. [laughter] So, she's skipping over how often they talk uh via the phone or text and jumping to answering the part about social media, which is hilarious. So, watch how she starts to answer this to the investigators about their social media interactions. It's it's it's just classic. Remember, there was almost 70 phone calls that were identified just in the trial, right, during that period between January 29th and September of 2022.

[00:02:33]All right. Here, >> you know, yeah, a little bit of that. I mean, as in social media, as if you know, um, you like a picture, if that's what you guys consider. Mhm.

[00:02:49]>> You know, social media then, yeah, of course. Like if she put up a picture of her, I'm going to >> like, "Oh, that's cute." Or possibly comment on it depending on my mood or possibly press that like button. Same with Instagram.

[00:03:04]>> All right. So, here you see how she's trying to make it seem like she doesn't know how to use social media. I'm going to press that like button, right? She doesn't even know how to use it, let alone like actually use it. [laughter] I just think it's it's classic. This isn't what I want you to see though, so just keep watching.

[00:03:23]>> I'm like that. So yes, I am connected to her on social media. Yes. Um as for Yeah. And I we text and you know um just the average the average communication in 2024, I guess.

[00:03:43]>> Okay.

[00:03:43]>> I mean, it's just classic. It's classic.

[00:03:46]But all right. Now is the part I want you to see.

[00:03:48]>> Yeah.

[00:03:49]>> Um, how about um, [clears throat] uh, troop proctor's wife, Elizabeth? Do you communicate with her directly?

[00:03:57]>> Never.

[00:03:58]>> Okay. So, note that she does that same thing that we saw during the trial where she doesn't even finish let the person finish with the question before she's already jumping in with this absolute response. Never. Never. Like adamant.

[00:04:14]Never, absolutely not. Right. Never, never communicate with Elizabeth Proctor. So then watch the next freaking sentence.

[00:04:31]>> So no uh Facebook, you're not Facebook friends with her.

[00:04:35]>> So I was friends Facebook friends with her. Yes.

[00:04:40]So, looks like it wasn't never. So, there you go. There's a perfect example of how when somebody uses never, it can be a very clear indication of deception. And now we know with the very next sentence that that it was.

[00:04:59]But now we have a direct lie. So she says, "So I was friends, Facebook friends with her." Yes. And this is also going to be important for later. We'll look at this more closely during the full analysis because there's also um the way that she answers this. The order with words, the order that the words are coming out of her mouth are also important and they also speak to another indicator of deception for Julie specifically. In fact, in this series of Q&A, we get a lot of her indicators of deception, which will be important because then we can check them against what we might think is deception going forward. But here, we're going to see what it looks like when she admits she's lying and then tries to backtrack. So, watch. So, I was friends, Facebook friends with her. Yes.

[00:05:53]And then watch what she does.

[00:05:56]So I was friends Facebook friends with her. Yes. So I guess Okay. So we'll back up.

[00:06:03]>> Yes. On >> So all right, you got me right. So all right. Yeah. So okay, we'll back up.

[00:06:12]So now she's like, "Okay, now I'll tell you the truth."

[00:06:17]Watch >> Facebook. We're Facebook friends. Yes.

[00:06:21]>> Yes. on Facebook. We're Facebook friends. Yes.

[00:06:30]>> Um I haven't been on Facebook for some time.

[00:06:34]>> Okay.

[00:06:34]>> Um but like on Instagram like yes in that way. Yes. But no >> but like on Instagram like yes.

[00:06:49]So, whatever she's talking about here, Instagram in Julie's mind is a safe app for some reason. She doesn't think there's anything that's wrong with like being friends with people on Instagram.

[00:07:04]But I don't think that she's actually talking about Instagram here because she's just sentences before when she was talking about Facebook, she was able to speak directly to Facebook.

[00:07:17]Facebook. Yes. Right. Then the very next sentence she's like but like on Instagram like yes in that way. Yes. And this sentence structure indicates there's deception because she's got the yes at the end of the sentence. So what's happening here?

[00:07:43]Whatever there's another app. I don't know what it is, but there's another app that she's got in her mind that they're friends on.

[00:07:54]Maybe also Instagram, but she's clear here that it's something like on Instagram.

[00:08:05]One more I want you to see.

[00:08:06]>> Not text, not voice, not No, not with that. Not that way.

[00:08:13]But not text, not voice, not no, not with that, not that way.

[00:08:26]We have five knots in one sentence.

[00:08:34]Not text, not voice, not no, not with that. which means I don't want to I don't want you to know about that. Not that way.

[00:08:49]This tells me without a doubt that they do text, that they have spoken on the phone, and that they definitely definitely speak through apps, our Facebook friends, social media friends, whatever. And maybe there's another app like I don't know a Snapchat. Would somebody like Julie Albert have that? I don't have a Snapchat. Or if I do, I don't don't even know I do. I might have had an account at one point for like five minutes, but I certainly have not used a Snapchat account in probably seven, eight, nine years. So, could she?

[00:09:30]Sure.

[00:09:31]Could it be WhatsApp that's in her mind?

[00:09:33]Sure. Could it be Facebook Messenger instead of Instagram that she's thinking about? Sure. We don't know. But what this five knots confirms there is without a doubt direct communication between Elizabeth Proctor and Julie Albert at some point at some time. There is no doubt whatsoever.

[00:09:58]It is the defense councelor's duty to protect the rights of the individual as it is the prosecution's duty to uphold and defend the laws of the state.
