This model of wealth redistribution is a powerful testament to communal sovereignty, effectively filling the infrastructure gap left by an absent state. However, it also highlights a systemic tragedy where private philanthropy must compensate for the fundamental failures of public governance.

We Visited The Home of Billionaire Igwe Charles Ezeudogu at Ichida, Anambra StateAdded:
This is a cheetah community [music] in Anambra state where individuals and billionaires come together through self-help initiatives [music] to build roads, install street lights, and deliver other major infrastructure projects.
>> Building of a road is not like something of 2 million or it's not like something Nothing about money. Money is not the money [music] will not really When we are doing things like this, we don't we don't look at money. Okay. We're looking at the value, the impact it will have to the community. [music] We're not talking about money. The Igbo land, southeastern Nigeria, stands out for its strong tradition of self-help and community-driven development. [music] This road number By the grace of God, what I'm doing here, I myself, it must take more than 30 years before it will start cracking. Yes, it must be 30 years. I mean, I assure it.
Are you serious? I still don't know what I'm saying what I'm saying. Whoa. In Ichida community in Anambra state, prominent leaders like Igwe Charles Ezudo and Ezza Nnanyelugo have decided to transform their community into [music] a city. I'm not doing it because my money is too much. Yes. I'm not doing it because my money is bigger than what others do. Yeah.
We are doing it because we feel the community needed it. His Royal Majesty, Igwe Charles Ezudo, is the traditional ruler of Ichida community in Anambra state.
He's popularly known as Charlie Rolls-Royce or Charlie Billions due to his flamboyant lifestyle and [music] successful business background. He's popularly known as Owa na Etiti Ora of Ichida.
>> [music] >> Igwe Ohazulume one of Ichida, Obi of Ichida. He's often described as number one classic [music] and swag king in Anambra state for his stylish and charismatic [music] presence. God God have remembered you.
God have remembered you.
God have remembered you.
>> [laughter] >> God have remembered you. This is the palace of His Royal Majesty, Igwe Sir Charles Ezudo. Igwe Ohazulume one of Ichida. Owa na Etiti Ora one of Ichida.
You know, the city video of Chalisto Chalisto West Africa. When we talk about Akuluno, he's one of them that you know, that doesn't joke with Akuluno. So, look at the road he he recently built in his village with street lights everywhere.
And one thing about this man is that when you listen to Oliver De Coque's song, he mentioned him in in in Nkulumonu. So, for somebody they mentioned in Nkulumonu for more than 20 years ago, and in 2026, he's still building roads for his people. You know, this is this [music] is remarkable. This is beautiful. And this is why they say that our people doesn't joke with Akuluno.
How many years the person spend abroad, the person will remember his home. So, Chalisto is one of them. And he's a member of People's Club of Nigeria, a patron of People's Club of Nigeria for that matter. So, he's popularly known as Charlie Rolls-Royce because you know, he's somebody that loves Rolls-Royce.
So, when you go to his house, you will see that almost all his cars is you know, Rolls-Royce. If you enter inside this place, you will still see Rolls-Royce. So, Rolls-Royce is his you know, his best mark. He doesn't joke with it. So, this is the road he's doing. And one beautiful thing about this road he's he just recently constructed is that um he did it very strong. This road can stand even up to 50 years and stay strong. Because just look at look at look at the size of the road. Look at it.
Look at the size of the road. And look at the iron they put before even doing the normal, you know, this is so beautiful, man. So, let's go check out how lengthy it is, you know, how many kilometer it is.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> So, looking at the road, how many kilometer do you think it is? So, this is beautiful and this is solid. You know, for somebody to bring his money home, you know, build a road. We don't One thing about the Igbo people is that we don't really wait for government to do roads for us or to develop our village. We develop it single-handedly.
And that is why we are here in this village. This is Ichida. And we are going to show you guys what the indigenes are doing single-handedly to make sure that their village is beautiful. To make sure that their village is you know, like is people can live here comfortably without thinking about, you know, we don't have this, we don't have this. Because our people we put light, build road, put water, thing Any other thing you can see in the town is in our villages. So, this is Igbo village for a reason. Igwe Charles Ezudo is somebody who have made a lot of money and he doesn't collect from his people.
He doesn't collect from people he rules.
He only He gives to the people. He makes sure that his people benefit from him because he's already made. So, that is one thing about him that people don't know. And he's very humble. He's very humble man. He's very welcoming. This road has not been commissioned. And trust me, the day the governor of Anambra state will commission this road, Creative Lo TV is going to be here live and direct to show you guys what will happen here. But this is beautiful and this is remarkable.
It will work.
Huh?
If you remember in Igbo I don't know this I don't know So, like uh you are now writing your name in a in a good stone in Ichida.
I still don't know who goes there. Like you guys don't know who goes there.
3.5 kilometer.
You know, the government try to do this road.
One I I'm saying meters of this I don't know I don't know I don't know By you By you By By Friday, that part is coming to complete it.
>> [laughter] >> Akuluno one of Here it is Akuluno your name because Ogbuefi also So, thank you very much.
Only for 1990 calendar. I don't know about it.
Okay, 2000.
1998 If you are in a maintainer in a village, this is not GRA. So, no no village here.
>> [music] >> Ichida.
So, free of charge.
>> [music] >> preaching about Akuluno because if you have money and your people are not benefiting, [music] it does not make sense. Look at this building right here. This building is a building being put up being built by [music] Ezzani Omenife Ichida. It's not that It's not that It's not that It's not that he's only building roads. He's also building houses for people. This is one one of them. When you look Look at the Look at the old house here. You know, he he looked at this woman and noticed that they don't have a perfect place to live.
And he decided to build a befitting house for them. So, from this place right here, they will move to this current one he's building right now.
And he's currently also building roads.
And after this one from here, he's also building currently This is Nanka. He's also building in Adazani. He's also building in >> [music] >> Ichida. Different different places for people that needs it, for the less privileged. This is what they call that >> [music] >> Aku have reached home. The people are benefiting.
This is what they call the humanity to man. This is what they call that like a rich man, a billionaire is is is the god of you know, the poor. Because when you have money, the poor benefit.
Tell me why God will not bless Omenife Ichida.
Tell me why his money will not increase.
For him to build this kind of massive building, this is not This is not anyhow building, you know.
Just check it check check it out.
Huh? Just check the design The design is a modern building. It's not like your regular type of you know, building. It's a modern building.
Solid because Omenife is a man that doesn't manage stuff. Anything he builds, [music] he builds it solid. He's currently building roads. And that roads are all of them are solids. So, this is beautiful and this is worthy to emulate.
Omenife is a big name. So, let's go [music] out here from the woman he's building it for because um let's hear how you know, Otu Obi Dia uh Okay.
If I don't make it I don't find it make it I don't know the corner.
Oji Ezza Nnanyelugo I say I >> Okay.
Okay.
This is this is beautiful. This is beautiful. So, God God have remembered you.
God have remembered you.
>> [laughter] >> God have remembered you because because because this is this is beautiful.
Amen. Amen.
Amen.
Yes, oh.
Yes, oh.
This is This is beautiful. This is If you have money, try to, you know, reach people that needs it.
Try to let your money to reach home.
This is beautiful. If a man decide not to even come home, he can decide to use his money to do or to fly private jet, but he decided to make sure that the people close to him benefit. This is what they call blessing.
If I a big man and nobody have ever benefited from you, you are just big man for yourself. It doesn't make sense. So, this is beautiful and this is what we should be preaching. Our ruler and my people are many. He's a big name.
>> [music] >> So, this is how they see and look at another house being built by Ezenne Omenife Chidoka at the share for free. He's building it for someone for the someone that needs it. So, it's not up to 2 weeks and look at how the the house is going up, you know. When you look at this, it's not that the house is massive. It's not like a normal two room, no. Look at it. It's very massive with a toilet, everything, kitchen, everything is there. You understand? So, look at the old one here.
>> [music] >> So, come and show them the old one. This is the old one.
So, when you look at it, >> [music] >> you see that the old one is already old.
So, for somebody to live in this kind of building and you give them this type of building, is it not a blessing? How again do you want to touch somebody's, you know, life more than this?
How do you want to touch somebody's life more than this? So, this is beautiful and this is what it emblematic. This the reason why when you are when God makes you rich, remember to touch other people's life. Omenife has been doing that and still doing it. So, look at it.
This is just look at the building. This is a mud house.
So, right now he's putting up a very befitting, you know, a bungalow for them.
This is Ichida and this is where uh Chief Ezenne Omenife Chidoka is currently constructing road for his people free of charge and we are here live and direct. Work is ongoing and for somebody to remove his hard earned money to construct road for his people is something massive, something remarkable because you know how much it is to construct 1 km of road?
Huh?
Do you even know how much how much it will cost to cost even 100 m of road?
But this man is constructing over 3.5 km of road in his community in Ichida. This is what we call about what this is what we call community development. When you talk about Akuluno, this is the practical example of Akuluno and you can only see this in Igboland. There's no other town in any in the world you will see something like this. Others wait for government, but in Igboland we don't wait for government.
For practically, we you know, communities have to wait for government to come and do this for them, but we take it upon ourselves. Our people will get money and come home and, you know, do this something like this for their people. This is massive and Chief Ezenne Omenife Chidoka is somebody who loves his people. So, this company constructing this road is his company.
So, the company is Tosher Construction Company.
So, he has done a lot of road in many many places and he decided to bring this one home, spend his money to do road for his people.
This is beautiful, man.
This is beautiful and as they are building this road, he's also building houses for people free of charge. He told us that he want to make it 10 houses this year. That's what he told us that this year he's going to build 10 houses for people free of charge. And these houses that he's building, he's not building just normal regular type of house, oh.
No, this is a standard modern house like four bedroom, three bedroom, six bedroom. He built it, you know, standard with toilet, kitchen, everything is like standard. This is beautiful and this is what we call Akuluno because that is what we preach.
When you have money and your money doesn't reach home, when you have money and it doesn't come home, when you have money and you doesn't remember your people, that means your money is nothing because That is the slang. When you have money, you are the god of the poor.
That's why God made you rich for you to bless the less privileged. So, this is Tosher. When you look, you see Tosher Construction Company.
The other one, too, Tosher Construction Company.
So, work is ongoing. This is Ichida in Anambra State.
Look at it here.
Tosher Construction Company and Equipment Limited.
So, this is massive, man.
Uh what are you people currently doing right now? This is asphalt.
Okay.
Okay, this is laying of asphalt, yes, on the road, yes. Okay. What I'm laying here, I'm laying in 5 m 5 cm.
5 cm of what? 5 cm of thick The thickness of my asphalt is 5 cm. That's what I'm laying here now. Okay. So, approximately uh if you were to calculate this, how many years will this road last if you This road now, by grace of God, what I'm doing here, I myself, you must take note that 30 years before it will start cracking. Yes, it must be 30 years. I mean, I assure it.
Are you serious? I serious what I'm saying what I'm saying. Wow.
It's 30 years guarantee.
I don't do I don't do road with passion.
So, Tosher is building 30 road uh warranty. Yes, you work many places.
You work many places.
I cannot 30 years I cannot go back to my road.
Any any road that I'm done, no, I cannot go back in 30 years.
I give them the letter of 30 years of this road. But can you can you stand on this your word?
If I cannot stand on my word, I KNOW WHAT I'm producing. I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING. LIKE I DID THIS ROAD WITHIN NOW, LOOK at the artwork. And look at I'm I'm laying 5 cm thickness of asphalt.
Uh compact 4 cm. CHECK IT. HOW MANY HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN DO IT? HE SAID THAT THIS IS HIS VILLAGE. I SHOULD DO THE BEST and I do the best for him.
Wow. So, this is his village and he told you to DO THE BEST. YEAH, COME AND TELL.
COME AND SEE THE THICKNESS of what we are doing. Show you that yes, I'm I'm more than what I'm talking.
Wow. So, after this one, are you going to put another one at this end? This end, I'm not putting any other one again. This is nylon. And he said 30 years. Yes. Woo.
This is this is this is beautiful. This is beautiful.
What do you Look at the thickness.
You see?
What is THE THICKNESS OF ANOTHER one is the mixture like the mixture of the asphalt. This is We are calling this one leather. This is final. Okay, nylon tie.
This is nylon tie. So, this one is not the regular type of No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's different. And it still cost.
We have different different of asphalt.
Okay. Yes.
So, what is your name? My name I'm Engineer Mohammed Jimoh. Okay. So, but most of the time some people complain that before you you put an asphalt, there must be gravel.
No, they are different Like this land, it didn't need it. Okay. You always make this side to be filled. Okay. Yes. Okay.
So, This This road is This side like this side there is no need. It's no need something like some base. It's no need it. Okay. Yes.
Already tested. That is what it be We are giving to the road.
The road was tested before any thing.
Before anything, we already test it.
We are not start just start to do work without our No, we already test it.
Okay.
Wow, wow, wow. This is beautiful. He said that he can he can stand on his words that this road he is doing can stand up to 30 years without cracking.
This is beautiful. And he said that Chief Ezenne Omenife Chidoka told him that this is his village Ichida. You have to do the best for me. He has to do the best of best of road for me, which means this road will be here 10, 15, that is three decades without breaking, man.
3.5 km of road. This is massive, man. Do you know how much to construct one road?
This is massive, man. Do you know how much it cost in my road? I keep repeating it. So, if you have money, come home. Let your people see it. What I got?
So, this is not government sponsored road because a lot of people, you know, are tracked in a road from Abuja. They bring it in their village and do it.
Government will be the one to pay. But, this one chief has no benefit. He's one removing his hard-earned money to do it free of charge. So, sometimes he will not give you money physically. Oh, take this and chop. But, you must When you drive past on this road, you are chopping his money. When you ride past on this road, you are chopping his money. So, this is beautiful. And this is what he is emulating. When you have money, come home and do something in your village so that your people will benefit. Sir, this is the second time we are coming to Ichida, your hometown. And what brought us here is the road you are doing for your people free of charge. And also the houses you are building everywhere for your people. Why are you doing that?
What is motivating you to, you know, spend that kind of money?
>> Nothing is motivating me, but If I If I see that Yeah.
There are nothing you cannot give back.
Yeah. That That bring you up.
We We are giving back to society. Not We are not Yeah. We are not We are trying to make an impact to the community.
Yeah.
So, you know, building of a road is not like something of 2 million. Or it's not like something >> Money is not the money We don't really We are doing things that we don't We don't look at money. Okay. We look at the value, the impact it will have to the community. We are not talking about money.
Are you getting me? The money aspect of it is not Okay.
>> If all these things we are doing today, you know, we are in the journey of this earth. Yeah.
Yeah. Are you getting me? You just people should understand that. If you want to buy this, I'm not doing it because my money is too much.
>> Yes. I'm not doing it because my money is bigger than my others. Yeah.
We are doing it because to feel the community needed it.
I don't We have completed 2 2 2.6 km of asphalt Yeah. As I know which road there are now. Yeah. Even when When we are coming, we are thinking that it was only your house when you just pass here. No, but even that place is not even your side, but you are doing it. And look at your side, too. And this one is very long.
No, it's 1.7 km, too.
Okay. 1.7 km and the other one is 2.
2.4. 2.4 km. That's over getting to 4 km. The problem is we are doing it to get it.
Wow. To get to have an impact on the community. Wow. You know, some people have money, but they don't They don't even think about doing something like it. But, somebody like you, when you are doing something like it, it's something that that will promote so that our people in diaspora and even everywhere will learn so that they will begin to bring their money home because this is what they call real impact. But, that was what I was saying. The agenda why I'm talking to you is the Akuru Uno.
Yeah. I'll speak it to Akuru Uno. People should I don't know the Listen, if you make any issue, you should have tried to Come home. Come home. Spend your money for them. Always be spending your money.
That's not about spending money. Come home and make your people feel the feel the blessing from the God. Yeah. Are you getting me? That's all that we are doing. Yeah. So, what do you have to say about people who wants to be like Omenife? You know, a lot of people especially our young I will tell everybody to be like he said. Don't be like Omenife. Okay.
>> Omenife I've been Omenife. Yeah. You don't try to be like me. I'm trying to Yeah, I know. I will be myself. Do my best. Okay.
>> I can't give myself to anybody. I'm not trying to be like anybody. But, I want to make money like you. Make money like me. Yeah. By the grace of God, you make money like me.
Yeah, but you know, sir, our people wants to do it without, you know, following the right channel to make it.
That's why The only thing I will say anytime and anytime and any point in time is the key of success is honesty. Okay.
>> And just be honest.
Hard work, diligent on what you are doing. Yeah.
What do I don't Whatever you are doing that gives you money, just Okay. Be honest on what you are doing.
Yeah. The It's key of success. You can never lack. Yeah. And we are We are doing what we are doing for past 20 years.
And by the grace of God, what God is giving us every day. God is blessing us every day.
For over 20 years. About 20 something years, getting to 30 years You see, Omenife is building road today.
He has been hustling for about 20 something years. And this is Getting to 30 years. Getting to 30 years. And this is the time he is constructing road. So, you that just started like 5 years ago want to be like this person. You think it's easy? Yeah.
Yeah.
All this is a process. Yeah. That's a process. I'm I'm I'm I'm nothing down somewhere. Okay. Okay, this is beautiful. And we are really happy that what you are doing If you If you want to see what we are doing, go to the major road. I saw what we are doing. The ones I've Yeah.
>> That asphalt is ongoing that place.
Yeah. This one is ongoing.
Wow. So, is there any other project we we have to expect from you? All these places we are going to By By any of these months, we are going to build houses on here. We fence on We are going to build here.
Two Two houses.
For people. For my neighbors. They are my brothers. They are not people.
If If If you are a neighbor of Omenife, your neighbor, you are going to get a house for free. Like Even the environment The surrounding will look, you know By the grace of God. Yeah. By the grace of God. This is what we keep talking about.
Some people They are rich man. They are rich, but their neighbors even hardly see them.
But, you are here.
I know be me and you stay here.
You are preparing to go. People are here. People should start coming up where I'm living. So, Omenife, thank you very much, sir.
>> Yeah, welcome. May God bless you. Bless you, too.
