The video provides a sobering analysis of how untreated trauma and mental health failures can lead to domestic tragedy. It successfully moves beyond the headlines to address the systemic psychological roots of violence.

>> My daughter.
>> Says my daughter.
>> I know. I know.
>> Tell me. Yes or no? Please.

>> She's gone. George, >> I don't give a >> He's in our custody. Where? I don't give a Where is he? That's my daughter. Where is he at? Where is he? That's my daughter.
>> One minute, Alexis was spending the night in the comfort of her own home.
And then in an instant, everything changed.
>> We got the opportunity to build a life together and she took it away. So, I took everything away from her.
>> It was around 12:40 a.m. on Friday, February 7th, 2025, when the Brian Police Department in Texas received a 911 call.
>> What's the address of the emergency?
>> I just killed my wife.
>> Brandon Vickerson.
>> Is that Vickerson with a V? B D I C K E R S O N.
>> Okay. What's your date of birth? Tell me a little bit about what happened this evening.
>> Uh she was cheating.
>> Okay. Did you catch her cheating or did she tell you she was cheating?
>> Uh also I caught her cheating.
>> Okay. What's >> um Can I can I add someone to my call? I need someone to take my child.
>> How many children do you have at the location?
>> Just one. He's 8.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. And what's your wife's name?
>> Uh last name of what?
>> What's your wife's name?
>> Oh, Alexis Walls.
>> How do you spell her last name?
W A L L S >> Okay. Is she still breathing?
>> Oh, no. She's shot like 15 times.
>> Okay. Do you have the gun on you at this moment?
>> I currently do not. It is >> disassembled outside.
>> Where outside is it?
>> It's going to be on my front porch. on your front porch.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. What kind of gun is it?
>> It's a Ruger Security 9.
>> A Ruger Security 9. Is that what you said?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. And where is your wife at?
>> Uh, she's in the middle of the hallway.
>> Which highway?
No, in the hallway of my house.
>> In the hallway.
>> Okay. When did you when did you shoot her?
>> Just now.
>> How long ago was that?
>> Uh, how long has this phone call been?
Like, I can't take this. I can't take it apart, but it is outside. It's going to be laying on the trunk of my car.
>> Okay. It's Okay. You just said it was on the front porch taken apart and now it's >> I I was in the process of trying to take it apart.
>> Okay.
>> The caller was 29-year-old Brandon Dickerson and what he confessed to to the dispatcher was nothing short of horrifying. Brandon had just murdered his wife with his own hands. Given the violent nature of the crime and how dangerous Brandon was considered to be, responding officers proceeded to the location with extreme caution. But upon arriving at the address, what they encountered was far from what they had anticipated. Brandon was already lying on the ground in a surrendered position, waiting for officers to arrive.
Get to my house now. I killed her like this. I swear to God. Shot her 15 times.
She's in court. Get Get my son. I'm going to jail. Get my son. Call Der.
>> Get my son.
>> I swear to God.
>> I swear to God. I told you. I I swear to God.
>> I can't.
>> I got to call mom. I'll be right there.
>> Is anybody else in the house?
>> Yes. My son. My brother's putting him. I only relinquished custody to my >> to my brother.
>> Is that who's on the phone?
>> What the [ __ ] >> Is that who's on the phone right now?
Why would you do this, Brandon? You know you're going to kill mom.
>> I know. I'm sorry.
>> What's wrong with you? What is [ __ ] Brandon?
>> I'm sorry. I love you.
>> And we're going to have one detained.
>> I'm John. I put the cops on the phone >> that you're on.
>> I'm coming.
>> Let's get him off the road.
>> I only relinquish custody to Nathan Aaron Claybo.
Roll over on your butt.
>> I only relinquish >> I only relinquish custody.
>> Stand in front of me. We're going to walk over here. Okay.
>> Yes, ma'am.
>> Where's the hallway?
>> He's in the hallway. My son's asleep in the back.
>> Hey, Officer Lee, where you going?
>> I don't know.
>> Have him in. Put him in the >> the car right there.
>> I don't have to car. That's okay.
If this is >> I I decide that this is tumbler as well on my car.
>> 54 I see. The male is going to be detained right now. Firearm is going to be outside with us right now.
>> Besides calling dispatchers, Brandon had also contacted his brother and disclosed what he had done. To his brother's absolute disbelief, no one could fathom that Brandon was capable of going to such lengths of taking his own wife's life.
>> Hey, uh, firearms right there on the trunk.
>> So, I reloaded second.
>> Have you searched?
>> Yes, the first mag.
>> You want to double verify if you like?
>> No, that's all right. Just have a seat.
>> We better sit down. Said the first mag jam. So he murdered a second one >> and I only relinquished custody to Nathan Air and Clayo.
>> Is that who you were on the phone with?
>> Yes, that is my brother.
>> Okay. He said he's on his way.
>> I only rel No other person has >> That's fine. That's okay.
That's all right.
>> He's on He's on his way. Well, we'll get your son to him. He said his name was Nathan.
>> Nathan Aaron Palbo L U G H.
>> Okay.
>> Okay.
>> Ooh, this car is pretty hot.
>> Let me check to see what's going on.
No, they're definitely not heated seats, but there might be a heater on.
>> It's been freezing for the last month, so it probably just got left on.
Meanwhile, despite Brandon relinquishing custody of his child to his brother, officers still needed to confirm that the child was safe. That meant entering the house with caution and with every sense on high alert. But nothing could have prepared them for what they were about to discover inside.
I'm sorry.
Inside the house, officers found Alexis Walls lying lifeless in the hallway, her body bearing 13 gunshot wounds. As they moved into the room of their 18-month-old child, officers discovered that the toddler was physically unharmed. But the thought of that child having heard 13 gunshots in the dead of night was deeply disturbing to everyone on the scene.
>> House is clear. She's gone. Charge.
>> Yeah. It's okay, buddy. It's okay.
It's okay.
>> Um, [ __ ] Do we have someone coming to get the kid? I know he said I know he said brother was coming.
>> Hey, buddy. It's okay.
It's okay.
Where is your car at?
>> 5Z dispatch, they're not going to be any good.
>> Where's your car at?
>> Down on the street over there.
>> All right, let's walk kid away.
>> Yep.
Let's not >> Caleb.
>> Hey, he's got brother coming.
>> Yeah, brother was on the phone. He said he's on the way. His name is Nathan.
He said he only wants to release kid to him. Not that that matters, but >> Okay. Okay.
>> Hey, buddy.
>> He's on the way.
>> Okay. It's okay.
>> Make sure that we stay.
Oh, >> she got me.
>> He said that the first mag jammed and reloaded a second.
>> Oh, just just rest.
>> Yeah, after the Okay.
>> Oh, sorry. Just making the phone calls and stuff like that.
>> Get freaking west.
>> It's okay. It's okay.
>> I told West it was right there and he made everybody's just amped up because of the situation and stuff like that.
her 15 times. First mag get the kid.
>> Brother's on his way already.
>> He was on the phone with brother saying, >> "Come out here. I just shot >> Walter's face."
>> Hey, >> sir.
Ain't no sense touching anything in there until CSI gets here.
>> He said nobody else is in there except Bruce.
>> We We did a sweep of it. There's no one else. No, >> I'm just letting you know that he also said that. Okay.
I pulled that we finished up over there and I pulled that disturbance up and the only note on there was I just killed my wife. I was like, "Oh jeez, this is either going to be legit or 96."
>> He said 96.
>> That's what I thought, too. And then when they said no one's called in about gunshots, I was like, "Eh."
>> Hey.
Hi, sweetheart. Hi.
>> BL.
>> No, no, no. I think that's just a swing.
>> You okay?
>> You're okay.
>> Do you not like the light? You not like the light? Let's turn this way. Is that better?
>> Is that better?
>> Let them make the decision on where where the child is.
>> Okay.
>> So, keep I got it. Sorry.
>> According to court documents, the 18-month-old boy had been diagnosed with autism, and losing both of his parents at such a tender age made the tragedy even harder to process. But what was about to unfold next at the crime scene would make the entire situation even more emotionally devastating.
>> Hello.
>> Where's my daughter?
>> Where's my daughter?
>> She's inside. Listen to me. Listen to Where's Where's >> What is your daughter?
>> Where's my baby?
>> What's your daughter's name?
>> Alexis.
>> Alexis. Okay. Come here. Come here.
>> No. No. No. Where's my daughter?
>> She's inside. We can't let you go in there right now.
>> That boy did not hurt my daughter.
>> You do not want to go in there right now.
>> Did he shoot my daughter?
>> Sir, >> tell me. Did he shoot my daughter?
>> We are working through an investigation right now.
>> Sir, has my daughter been shot? You can say yes or no. That's all I want to know.
>> Okay.
>> We're working through an investigation right now. Okay. Who am I?
>> My daughter been shot.
>> Is he Is he in there?
>> He is not in there.
>> Where is he?
>> Where is he?
>> He is currently in our custody right now.
>> I'm going to hurt Brandon.
>> Will you switch places with us?
>> My daughter not go over there. Little >> what?
>> Y'all got tape around this house. My daughter sir >> says my daughter dead.
>> I know. I know.
>> Tell me. Yes or no? Please. I can sympathize.
>> Okay. Listen to me. Yes. Yes.
>> My daughter's dead.
>> We're working through this right now.
>> Oh, Lord. Jesus. Jesus.
Jesus. Jesus.
I understand.
>> I understand.
>> You got to let us do our job.
>> WHERE IS HE AT?
>> WHERE is he?
>> You know that you know me.
>> I DON'T GIVE A Where is he?
>> Where is he?
>> He's in our custody.
>> I don't give a Where is he? That's my daughter. Where is he at?
It was heartbreaking to witness a father collapse under the weight of grief. His love for his daughter painfully evident.
And on the other hand, Alexis's mother was completely inconsolable, unable to contain the anguish of losing her only daughter.
Sir, >> there's no way I can become I I know there's nothing I can say right now. I understand. There's nothing I can say right now. Okay. But he is not going anywhere right now. Come here. Come here. Come here.
>> You didn't want to want to be together with him.
>> Oh no.
>> Oh my god. Oh god.
Officers would eventually attempt to console Alexis's parents, though there were no words adequate for a moment like that. But whatever had driven Brandon to believe that killing his own wife was a solution to the troubles in their marriage was about to be revealed.
He said upstairs.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Did I get back with my brother as my son? I don't >> Your brother was on scene.
>> I actually know, but I just don't talk to my son with my wife's family.
>> Okay.
Well, I made sure that the uh sergeant on scene was aware of that. And it's a little bit of a process before he can go to anybody. So >> I know the state has authority right now.
Donald Go way down a little bit.
Step back.
>> Honestly, this left side.
It's like a little loose.
This is like weird. Uh AB right here any person?
>> Yes.
>> Yeah.
>> You do a good search.
As Brandon sat in the interrogation room, the full weight of what he had done began to visibly consume him. He would go on to open up to officers about his past struggles, pain, and the experiences that had shaped him.
>> Feel bad for my son.
>> I'm sure that your brother will take good care of him.
>> Oh, he's a great great man.
>> Does he have kids of his own?
>> He does.
>> How old are his kids? Um think like between think that might be >> okay. So he's been there. He knows how to take care of it.
>> Yeah. I >> I assisted in raising my brother's son until he was five. And once he started kindergarten, I moved out.
You know, a free babysitter.
>> Yeah. Yeah, >> you know, I tried to have in her my wife's family look after our son, but they always made it out as he's he's a burden.
>> Not her mother. Her mother is a wonderful person.
And her aunt.
>> She have a brother?
>> Yeah, that was the younger man. Uh, he also works for the funeral home.
>> Okay.
You said you had another brother also.
>> Oh, me?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
Jeremy, he works for ABC.
>> That's the pest control.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Is he older or younger than y'all?
>> He's older. Um, >> so are you the youngest?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> We're all kind of close together. like year and a half and then I think my oldest brother who arrived on scene was he's like 2 years older than me.
>> Okay.
So you're >> 29.
>> 29. He'd be 331.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. And Jeremy is older than both of you.
>> Uh he's the middle child. He's about 30 somewhere in there.
>> Really close together.
>> Yeah, we're close.
>> Yeah. From around here.
>> Uh we moved here about we'll say 17 years ago. We I started seventh grade here.
>> Okay. And then I took 8th grade twice because I didn't feel like going to high school.
>> Why not?
>> Just the kids I was in class with. It's just I've always been an outcast my whole life. every, you know, every this is probably the first thing that was really good for me because you can offer me a cup of water and as soon as I'm about to grab it, society just throws it on the ground right in front of me every single time for 29 years.
breaks the person down.
>> Yeah, it does.
Usually it doesn't even take that long.
>> I'm pretty strong willed.
I should have I should have should have got help a long time ago.
I got told the detective the first 11 years of my life was domestic violence. Our stepfather was addicted to pills and alcohol.
You know how the old truckers used to be on the speeds and all this other stuff.
And I've had a we've had a fight our whole life.
I've always I've always had this going on in my head and just tonight the scale a little too far and it's I had a call because it I know everything can get used against me, but it was going to be worse than if I waited in the morning because their entire family line would have been gone.
I I had to stop myself before I lost full control.
So, without going into a whole lot of detail about what happened tonight, were you also upset with her family before like before?
>> Um, I hear recently. Yeah. Me and her brother almost got into a fight.
We were arguing on Well, not really arguing. We were going back and forth on the phone a few weeks ago.
They just never viewed me as somebody.
You know, I get it. I'm making 15,000 a year. You know, I take your little daughter away.
And I lost my house.
I lost my car. Her car broke down. We both got laid off. I've been struggling for the past 2 years to find a career.
Now that I have one, she wants to leave.
Um, I finally got the opportunity to build a life together and she took it away. So, I took everything away from her.
You want to I confronted her on two occasions about the guy she was talking to because I've been cheated on for 6 years out of my first relationship. We lasted nine years.
80 notes of my part. I shouldn't have stayed for 6 years and endured.
But you know >> so you knew you knew it was happening for 6 years >> my with my first relationship. Yeah. But and I told her when she was talking to this man. I said I don't trust him. I said I know how he operates.
You want to go run to him about our problems. No woman should talk to another man about their personal endeavors within their relationship that gives them such an advantage.
And she fell into it and I confronted her and she said, "Nothing's going on.
Nothing's going on." So today he texted her when we were at the mall and I seen something about him saying honey something. I was like, "Hey, why is he calling me honey?" "Oh, I don't know. That's weird. That's kind of unlike him." And then tonight, she wanted to tell him, "I love you, good night, kisses, and heart emojis, and all this other stuff, and it tipped the scale. You're going to lie to me when I try to be open and confront you and try to work everything out, and you just want to laugh in my face.
Literally laugh in my face.
It's unbelievable.
>> Was the stepdad, right?
>> Yeah.
>> What happened then?
>> Um, she finally, you know, she, my mom, she used to work for Names and Numbers.
>> Okay. uh up in Pittsburgh, Kansas, and she met a man, wonderful man. He actually was a victim of homicide a few months ago.
He went to Florida. you know, they were going through some stuff, you know, he wanted to redo his life, his old buddy, you know, cuz he he was using uh meth, which I'm perfectly fine with because it's not about who it is, it's how you use it. Sure.
>> Anything just a little bitty little bitty rot in the morning versus two red bulls being you know just chem almost the same method is the binding agent of I think red bull and they use cyanide for Celsius.
>> I don't know that. Yeah, the I can't remember something Cabala something. You could you'll see it on the on the can.
But he they gave him some sort of drugs and once once they get you in that once they flip that scale and you're become and then they just started pumping them full of stuff. He actually was killed by fentanol, but the from what I heard, the amount of narcotics in his system was more than what someone could take by theirel.
>> Okay.
>> He had he had so much in his system. They they he beat so bad. And he he was a great man.
great man. He taught me everything I needed. You know, my first stepdad taught me how to be strong.
My second step stepdad, he taught me finance, how to be a husband, how to be responsible, how how society works.
And I lost him. I I he was the only person I was able to call and be open with and actually get true information cuz that's the worst thing. No one wants to tell you the truth. They just tell you what you need or they think you need to hear.
And it's it's it's he would be honest.
He'll be and he'll try and sugarcoat it and milk it in a way to where you can understand and reason and rationalize things with life. But I just I'm this sucks that he he passed away about 4 months ago.
>> I'm sorry to hear that. Sorry to lose a role model. It is.
He's outside of my biological father. He's the only one I would actually claim as my father.
>> You still talk to your biological father?
>> I tried, but he was never around.
He lives in Florida. It's just like we don't exist.
And I kept telling my wife, I said, "I don't want to be like my father." But turns out I'm actually worse.
She She took everything away from me.
So I did the same.
But really, the my son is the biggest victim out of all of this.
He would never remember the face of his mother or his father because core memories don't start until you're about result and I tried teaching her everything and she just didn't want to be >> she didn't want to she I just don't know. I just don't understand.
>> Brandon was subsequently charged with the murder of Alexis Walls. Prior to his trial, he entered a guilty plea to the murder charge. And in February 2026, he was sentenced to 50 years in prison. As for their child, Alexis's family was later granted custody to raise and love the child.
