This video provides a comprehensive breakdown of the House of the Dragon Season 3 trailer, analyzing the major battles being adapted from Fire and Blood, including the Battle of the Gullet, Battle of the Red Fork, Battle of the Fish Feed, and Battle of the Honey Wine. The presenter examines character developments such as Rhaenyra's moral burden of ruling, Hugh the Hammer's potential betrayal, and the tragic arc of Helena Targaryen. The analysis highlights the unprecedented scale of dragon battles on television, the production's commitment to large-scale combat sequences, and the show's departure from the books in certain character decisions like Nettles' exclusion. The presenter emphasizes that Season 3 will be a battle-heavy season with significant carnage, encouraging viewers to watch and engage with the content rather than avoiding it.

HotD Final Trailer is here! Season 3 House of the Dragon Full Analysis本站添加:
Beep beep beep boop. Hey there friends.
Hey there friends. Skipping the intro today because we got to get right to it.
We've got a trailer to break down. The final trailer. And folks, I'm just going to make a quick pitch. If you were thinking about not watching season 3 of House of the Dragon, I really think you got to watch.
I don't know how often they're going to serve us up giant dragon battles like this just on television in general, but it looks crazy. Uh just this is this I'll show you real quick the this the thing that got me. Look at this.
Like we haven't seen battles like this on Game of Thrones. We got the baggage train. We got the long knight. We have not seen stuff like this before. Um, where's the other one of the whole battlefield?
We're going to go through this frame by frame obviously, but I just want to show you why I'm excited here.
Where's the catapults? They're launch.
Yeah. Ah, come back. They've got the catapults launching. I don't know what happened to my scroll right there.
Look at that. Look at that. Look at all those hardworking extras and occasionally CGI copied folks. I mean, really, this is uh this looks great. So, yes, we're eating good. No, all the all not everything is going to be perfect.
You know what I mean? Like, there's going to be stuff to complain about. But that's the thing is, don't we like complaining about the stuff that isn't right? Come on. What are you going to do? Not watch it? Not be a part of the arguments?
That doesn't sound like fun. Hello friends. Thanks for coming. By the way, I did do um a battles preview video about two weeks ago where I went through all the different battles. We used little murder rectangles and icons and war music and we crashed them together.
And basically, you know, reading Fire and Blood, all the battles are kind of a jumble in your mind. So, I made a video to separate them all out and explain how they group. And you know, I made it for myself kind of because I just wanted a clear idea of what the book battles that the TV show was going to be working with this season. So, check that out on the page battles breakdown. But, let's go ahead and get into this trailer. And again, thank you for joining me. Uh, I can't play the sound, but I do have the dialogue written down so that we can discuss it. There's a couple things in there to talk about. So, yes, we join we joined the action already in progress.
Many people are dead. Other people are dying. And this will be one of many battlefield wastelands that we see.
There's a lot of red here. I'm guessing this might be battle of the red fork or the fish feed. We got some Lannisters for sure. Um, and I will take my best guess at which battles are which, but obviously it's not going to be possible to say with total certainty. Um, and yes, we're going to over analyze everything. That's the idea. So, here we've got Damon. I'm actually gonna shorten this bar so I can move a little more precisely. He is on the battlefield. The fact that Damon is here um means this is probably either the red fork or the fish feed because essentially Damon's already in the Riverlands. We know he's going to help Reneer take King's Landing. So, either he's going to participate in a battle in the Riverlands and then come to King's Landing, which is what I think is probably going to happen, or he'll come to King's Landing, and then eventually he'll leave and get caught up in one of these battles later, which in which case this might be the Butcher Ball. But it all depends on how they do that. I tend to think that uh I think I saw Damon with the Riverland armies in the other trailer, which would make this red fork fish feed or some approximation of one of those. Uh, but it's always nice to see Matt Smith getting getting dirty and and mixing it up and punching people in the face. That's what what's what we know him for on this show. And here we have Sheepsteeler. So, there's been a little bit of debate about whether or not Sheep Steeler is at the gullet. Yes, Sheep Steeler. By the way, spoilers, spoilers all. This is a trailer breakdown from somebody who's read Fire and Blood. So, full spoil full release spoilers here. This is this is no uh no question sheep stealer. Uh both the the long claws on the end of the wing and the foot claws are extra long too. So Sheepte steeler is easy to pick out.
Obviously Raina is going to tame Sheepsteeler and I probably get mixed up in the gullet by accident. remember she's in the veil trying to take care of the kids or not taking care of the kids who in the books were put on a ship called the gay abandoned and sent to Pentos for safekeeping. Some version of that will happen and Raina and Sheepsteel are going to get caught up in the gullet. Um you know one thing I was thinking about is like the idea that Aegon escapes the Reneer and Damon's young Aegon who's nine in the books. He hops on the back of Stormcloud, his dragon, barely big enough to carry him, and escapes from the gullet. A little too young. The dragon is like this big. It's like cats size. And Aegon is way too young. So, probably I'm thinking either Jace or Raina will be rescuing Aegon. Probably Raina, I would guess. Um, so we'll get a slightly different version of that.
Uh, and so yeah, that's Sheep Steeler, mud brown, ugly D. Don't call Sheep Steeler ugly around here.
We're fans. Um, so yeah, distinctive long claws and wing wing things. So you've heard them talk about the battle of the gullet. You know, they were like, "Yeah, you can't do a naval battle on the cheap. You got to go full out." And so they did. She see sheep stealer can take can take a licking and keep on ticking. Um, but there will be a lot of fire in the air. So, even though the dragons are very powerful and all that, like there's a lot of crossfire here.
So, this is not a safe place. Again, sheep stealer. You can see with the with the wing claws, the bat bat dragon status.
So, pretty big dragon.
Slightly bigger than like Sea Smoke was maybe um in the first season going to battle. Pretty big. pretty big, not a small dragon.
And so the dialogue here just pull this up.
The queen has Oh, no, that's these are turbulent times spoken by the high septin. It sounds like the guy who played uh the high sparrow in the first series. So I'm confused. Maybe it's just a similar voice. Um and so yeah, Allison is saying Rene is coming. You're no longer safe here. So the beginning of this trailer, they're showing us the gullet and the fall of King's Landing.
This is Yeah, Reneer is coming. You're not safe here. So Ammon obviously going to leave the city in the book. Basically Aean goes to Harrenhal, shadowing Kristen Cole's army. Cole's army has already left in the show. So slightly different timing, but basically he's going to end up in Harrenhal. And we see Amon and Harrenhal pretty shortly. So here, this very exciting four dragons.
You can see Silverwing on the lower left. Vermathor on the on the right side and then Caraxis and Cyrax in the middle. Pretty cool.
Um I guess that could it could be either Silverwing or Sea Smoke. They're hard to tell apart at a distance. They will both be here. So there actually will be five dragons. That's definitely Cyrax and Reneer landing at the courtyard of the Ren Keep. There's some green soldiers about to pay the price.
Maybe Rene will use her dragon and burn some people. So that would be different.
So Orund High Tower and the Green Forces, these are not that's not the same battlefield.
The green Ormand High Tower is coming up from Oldtown. Let me just pull up the map here. Uh this would be Battle of the Honey Wine. Okay, Orand High Tower. Basically, they've got their forces in Oldtown. They're coming up the Rose Road to get to King's Landing. They fight a little skirmish here on the Mander before they eventually get to Tumbleton, which will be the probably the conclusion of the season. Um, so these are not This is not the same Battlefield. It's one of those trailer cuts.
And here's Damon. He's with two dragons here. So that looks like Sheepsteeler again, doesn't it? So, I'd say that they're kind of sticking close to the book arc here where obviously in the book it's Nettles and Sheepsteeler hanging out with Damon in the Riverlands and this is obviously Raina. So, that makes me change what I said earlier. I was saying maybe Damon will get into a battle and then go to King's Landing.
This would be the opposite order. If he's got Sheepsteeler and Raina with him, uh then uh no, that's not Silver Wing. Again, you can tell by the long protrusions and silver wing is bigger and more silver. That's that's going to be Sheep Steeler and Raina because again in the books it's Nettles and Sheep Steeler that are with Damon in the Riverlands. So this is this would be Raina and Sheep Steeler instead. Um which is cool. Again, I I I want Nettles in the story. Nettles is not here. It is what it is. But it will be interesting to see Raina bond with dad a little bit over the dragon riding. Hopefully that'll be somewhat interesting. Uh yeah, like I said, I've already made a whole 36 minute video to cry over Nettles's exclusion, but it seemed that's the way the show was going. So, check out my Nettles video. It does have full breakdown of Nettles from Fire and Blood and all that stuff. Basically, everything Nettles.
And here we are. Damon is killing some people. We're taking the red keep. And there's some I love this shot. So, here we see Ulf the White on the left, Hugh the Hammer, people's champion in the middle, Adam Valarion, or I guess he's not Valarion yet, but we all know he's going to be he's going to get the label. So, this is pretty dope. I love this shot.
This is great. I love anything with Hugh. I like Hugh in the middle. Look at his hair. Look at his beard. That's the true king right there. None of these other pretenders can compare to Hugh.
I'm just un unabashedly pro- Hugh here.
Until until he lets me down, I'm going to believe that he is a good man. Who's going to be Damon's side chick if there's no Nettles? Uh there's I don't know. Probably no one. Um there's Mysaria can still stir up enmity if she needs to.
We will see how they do that. Rene is pretty upset in a lot of these scenes.
Um, you know, we get this idea that like she's taking CA King's Landing, but uh it's a poisoned gift. You know, she's going to be undermined as soon as she takes it. Uh, we see some of the lines here. Their defeat is written. We'll secure the city without further bloodshed. That's Rene is what she's saying right here. So, a lot of the tension comes from this idea that like Rene is trying not to be a butcher, just like Dany. Not exactly like Danny, but similar too. She's like, "Well, how do I use dragons and conquer Westeros or conquer Slavers Bay without being a butcher?" Right? And so she is um, you know, maintaining that illusion. And later Damon's going to say, "In war, all suffer." And obviously Allison is sort of yammering at her like, "Oh, you're going to have to do bad things and you know, ruling is hard. You're going to going to be responsible for decisions.
They're going to kill people." And so Rene is experiencing that tension as any of us would, you know, as any of us would trying to rule Westeros.
[laughter] Um, and so here we see more dragons.
This is that looks like Sea Smoke on the right there to me. And that would be Silver Wing on the left. Silver Wing's got kind of a long little more slender look than Sea Smoke. And Sea Smoke's got that pink under the wings that Silver Wing does not.
How do you think they'll handle Hugh and Ol's betrayal in the show? That's like the biggest question to me is how they're going to do that. Um, we're gonna I'll address that in a second when we see Hugh's wife running around in King's Landing. I think that's actually coming right here. So, um, you know, this is straight from Fire and Blood.
The dragons are circling over the city.
The people are nervous. They're not sure if the city's going to be sacked and burned or not.
And so we're going to see Hugh's wife here. Just there. Who are these people?
I don't know. Just some average just some average women with perfect makeup and faces and some finery poking out from the hoods. Oh yeah, these are these look like peasants to me. Nothing more to see here, people. So Helena's got that's going to be what? Jiara with her probably.
Um, I know they've recast Jiara and the new actress looks a little older than previously. Um, so I'm not sure if that looks like a child as opposed to a baby.
So yeah, I would say that's Jiara.
There's Hugh's wife and she's seeing the dragon just there's my man. There's my That's my husband right there. But she's looks Yeah. Not sure how to feel about that. And we know that um Hugh was trying to send her to Tumbleton for safety. I don't know if she'll get there, but that's not going to be a safe place to be. So, obviously Hugh's Hugh's turn or betrayal or whatever you call it is going to hinge. It's going to hinge on something having to do with his wife, probably a tragedy.
And so, yeah, King's Landing, people are nervous. This is Corus saying, "The queen has many dragons, um, but her subjects do not feel safe, nor should they." It's sort of a double-edged line where it's like, "Oh, yeah, we've got a lot of dragons, but the war is not won, and nobody should feel safe because we could still be under attack." But it's also like, "The queen has many dragons. You should not be comfortable about that. No one should feel safe."
And of course there are there is some tension that develops between Corus and Reneer uh this season. It should if it follows the book. [clears throat] This season is going to be dark. Yep.
Yep. Uh there's Yeah, there's there's plenty of horror when George gets down to writing war. It's it's a lot of horror. And so this is Damon. I mean Aemon, excuse me.
Amen. One eye and Vaggar. He This is Harrenhal. He's just kind of burning it for no reason. You know, it's lightly held. And in the books, he challenges um Simon Strong, Sir Simon Strong, who was so likable last season to a duel. And essentially, it's a you know, defend def. He accuses him of betraying the Greens and then he's like, "We'll fight to defend your honor. It's not a fair fight." So, Aean is mostly committing atrocities here.
And Vaggar's, it's not an atrocity when Vaggar does it. It's just Vaggar being Vaggar. So, you know, there's Nana kicking up a little ruckus.
Yeah, I love how this looks. Nana Vagar and Harrenhal. There's something beautiful about it cuz like Nana Vagar is old and weathered. Harrenhal is old and weathered. Um, it's it's just right.
I love it. And here's Aean. This is probably him killing Simon for all we know. He's got the eye out. I think he only takes the eye patch off when he means business. Kind of like Euron. You know, he shows the world his smiling eye or his blood eye depending on how much business is going down. So then we see um Okay, so get ready for this dynamic before anybody complains. I think this is meant to be intentionally hypocritical. Okay, Allison is Allison is going to be Reneer's captive for this season and she's going to be lecturing her and I think again I think it is meant to be hypocritical. Allison has been a hypocrite from the beginning. She had a lot to do with this war happening as we know and then she's all like acting as though she warned everybody against it. So she says, um, I see you have been merciful, which I believe is sarcastic, but the crown is, uh, a weight that crushes. You'll do things that spell death for all involved. Um, so, you know, she could be saying some of this stuff to either Aeand or Reneer. Most of this dialogue is with Rene, but it kind of applies to everyone when she's Yeah. So, I just think that's kind of her character. like she's a religious character who's also sinning, you know what I mean? It's there's just some hypocrisy built into it.
>> And I think that makes her interesting.
But some people are like taking this at face value, like, oh, the show's wagging its finger at Reneer or whatever when Allison really is like, yeah, she's a hypocrite. That's the point. Anyway, um this looks like a post tragedy Helena. Of course, we know that Helena does take her own life in the books and or at least that's the official story.
There's a little bit of maybe she was pushed, you know, out the window type of thing. Um, but in the in the books, it is Mor's death at Bitterbridge which triggers this. And so, we do not know, you know, we had that one shot in the last trailer that looked kind of like Helena giving birth, but we're not 100% sure it was Helena. And it could have been something else painful, you know, related, but it looked for all the world like Helena was given birth, which implies they might be going back for the third kid. Um, meaning Mor.
So, it could be that or it could be a different tragedy that they come up with to provoke a similar reaction, but this might be one of Helena's last moments on the Earth. Um, the What's the actor's name? Is it Phoebe Allen? I'm so I'm so sorry. I really bad. Somebody jog my memory what the Helena actor's name is. Um, a lot of emotion being portrayed. Fia Sabon. That was way off. I need somebody delete that.
Sorry guys. I do have ADHD and I am bad.
But yeah, that's Fia Sabon and she is very good. Uh, I mean just look at that.
That's that's some acting right there.
Yeah. And so and so we are taking King's Landing. That's Luther Larent of the Gold Cloaks. That's Damon's bestie from the Gold Cloaks.
We're going to probably um Yeah, we'll fix it in post. Thank you. Thank you. We won't. But that's all right. We're doing it live. We're doing it live.
My sorry is hanging out, you know, rumor mongering, keeping tabs on people.
maybe repping for team small folk, maybe her own interests. Hard to say.
She is uh if that is her. Okay, so if you can tell that's you can tell by the cuff here, that's the same dress. So this is not a trick of the trailer. That is my opening a secret communication from team green.
Could be L's, could be auto.
Hard to say. somebody working for the queen. But there is there is undermining happening in King's Landing. This is that same bonfire. I still think this is Viserius's bed that is being burned. And I think there is more evidence for my theory that um Rene is looking at Viserius's corpse when we see her going, "Oh my god." You know, and there's the speck of the skull. And I made a video and said, "Oh, they let Viseris rot. That's his body." Some people have said, "Okay, well, what about the fact that he was wrapped up and we've seen Aegon in the bedroom since then?" So, obviously, it's not the same bedroom. It would be a different bedroom in the Red Keep. And even though he was wrapped up before, he may have come unwrapped. Maybe the rats have been eating him. Maybe somebody looted the shroud. Maybe they opened the shroud to verify the body. There's different ways that that could happen, but I'm very sure that's what's happening because and I'm going to skip back for these, but I'm just going to go forward to find this thing that I'm looking for and then we'll come back when they're pulling the cloth off the Lego City.
Where is it? Where is it?
Oh my god. And that does this every time. Okay.
Where's the freaking Lego city running is? There it is. Okay, so this is right after the line about have you not betrayed your queen?
And then you can see there's like leaves and stuff. So this has been like the windows been open. The moths are eating at it. And this is the Lego city. It is partially smashed, of course.
So, like this is what I'm saying. They stuck Viserious's body and the Barbie house in a closet in a different bedroom. They closed the door and everyone said, "Not my problem." And nothing happened. They never gave him a state funeral.
And that is what Reneer was looking at.
And so, she's pissed about all kinds of stuff. Have you not betrayed your queen?
All right. So, let's go back for the stuff I skipped.
Lots, man. There's so much stuff in here.
This trailer is packed.
Okay. And so, while Rene is laying in bed here, the voice over is saying, "Little by little, bite by bite, we are exposing her as weak and unsuited to rule." And this is Orand High Tower talking about undermining Reneer. And I believe we'll see it in the next clip.
So basically it's like Rene is trying to sleep peacefully. Yay, we won King's Landing, but out in the streets, people are dead and they're sort of, you know, the decisions that Rene and other leaders make lead to this. And how can you sleep at night? She's trying to take things peacefully, but obviously it's war, you know. So here we've got the Riverlanders, excuse [clears throat] me.
We see obviously the Blackwood banner and the Tully banner and a couple others. So this is going to be on the way to either Red Fork or the Fish Feet.
Okay. And so just to break this down, Red Fork is the Lannister army coming from the Westerlands and they are trying No, not that one.
This one. They are basically they're on the They're on the left side here.
They're on the west side. You can see Jason Lannister and they're trying to cross the Red Fork to get to Harrenhal.
We don't know exactly if they'll where they'll do the battles will be exactly the same, but the general dynamics is that this army of the Westerlands that's been at the Golden Tooth, Lord Leford and Jason Lannister, and they've got to get to Harrenhal. And so they have to fight their way through the Riverlander armies to get there. Piper and Vance, Pate the Lion Slayer, and then it moves on to the Fish Feed where we get the Winter Wolves, the Freys, the Blackwoods, Tullies, they're all surrounding the remaining Westerland force and driving them into the lake. And so this is some combination of those things. We see the Riverland armies.
They are thick. There's a lot of We'll see them again, but there's a lot of them. [snorts] Uh, and so this is I'm not going to address leaks, but if you know what this might be because what we've heard, there's this might be kind of a horror feast here. This might be a dinner full of horror. And my friend Estella Graves did a video about this in particular.
So, check out her channel if you want all the info, including potentially some spoilers. Uh, but yeah, Reneer is face feasting with the nobility of King's Landing. How nice. Thank you guys for sticking by me all this time. I'm sure there'll be no ill feelings or anything. Everyone just drink your wine. I'm sure it's safe.
And this is Orman talking about undermining Reneer.
So, she's This is like her one moment.
Oh, the sun is shining. She's kind of got a smile. I'm This is my city. I remember when I was walking around here and I was 14 with Damon and we were running around from the brothel to the little fortune teller and the little little play in the street. She's with my whom she should not trust.
And there's some dead people probably in that cart, you know, but whatever. And oh, oh man, it's it's graffiti. It's treasonous graffiti. Reneer, it says queen of bastards.
Um, and so obviously this is referring to Hugh and Ul bastards who have been uh elevated to Dragon Rider and probably even more than that to her children with uh Lighor/Harwin Strong. Could be either or both of those. Um, so there's yeah, just, you know, some propaganda. Nothing again, nothing wrong with bastards. They got two parents just like you and me, but obviously that's a political issue and so interesting to see that come back around. Do I think we'll see Cannibal or Grey Ghost? Probably not.
[clears throat] Probably not. The real the real goal um the thing Cannibal and Greyhost come into the story of Aegon and Sunfire retaking King's Landing. And um so they don't really need them just yet.
And I suspect if anything we would get Cannibal, but probably we'll get neither. I don't know. I don't have my hopes up for that. I did make a very cool Cannibal video. Of course, I love Cannibal. So, check out my cannibal video if you want the lore on that.
And yeah, we're just, you know, we're nervous in King's Landing. That's the vibe. Don't know who this guy is. I check I went and checked the uh the new casting list and I did not see this fellow on there. So, he is probably some soldier who just gets a moment. If anybody knows who that is, let me know.
But yeah, it's it's somebody. Um and this it does look like the winter wolves back there.
Well, they're coming down the hill. This could be the fish feed, but yeah, it's one of the battles. Hard to say. Hard to say.
And here's Ba and Reneer. And I believe this is where Rene is talking about betrayal.
No, she's saying, "My enemies have been allowed to muster their strength."
Similar idea. Yeah, she's just not secure.
And I don't know why she's yelling at Baya so much. Not sure what Baya did.
She might just be tense about Jace. I'm not sure. I love how Emma Darcy looks like a frigin dragon when she puts her mean face on. We saw this last season, but like she has that reptilian kind of I don't know. It's It's beautiful, but like kind of eerie and and threatening.
I I just love the way Emma pulls that off.
And here this is that's that looks like Dragonstone and that is obviously Carex's shadow.
And yeah, you just can't sleep. This is not the place to sleep. Well, that very nice bed. Very fancy. But yeah, constantly bad dreams being woken up.
Let's see. Aean is saying she will certainly fall and we will raise our own throne. That's coming in here in a second. Here's some winter wolves. The winter wolves look great. I mean, these the c the uh the costume department and the extras must have had a lot of fun.
Lot of fun.
I don't know. Okay, so this town, I'm not sure what town this is. This is going to be either the Red Fork or the Fish Feed or something that stands in for both of them. I think uh the Winter Wolves do come to Tumbleton also. So, this could be Tumbleton. Usually, they don't show us clips from the near the end of the season in the trailer. Mostly it's from the first couple episodes. Uh, but technically the red fork and the fish feed don't take place around towns.
So this could be Tumbleton, which is a walled town, and that that looks like about the right size.
So yeah, I the chat seems to be agreeing with me that this is probably Tumbleton.
Um, but they could easily just take the, you know, the red fork or the fish feed and start it, you know, out of town near the near the lake. So, hard to say.
But the winter wolves, they travel a big distance. You know, they start off um they they appear here at the fish feed.
They're at Butcher's Ball, just south of the God's Eye, and then they come all the way down uh to Tumbleton.
No, that's Red Fork. Where's Tumbleton?
Yeah, you can't see him here, but they they come they come to Tumbleton and a bunch of survivors from a bunch of battles sort of all gather there to oppose the Greens who have been winning their battles. [clears throat] So that's where Aean says she will fail and we'll raise, you know, we'll raise a new throne. We saw in the other in the other trailer they're talking about a new line of unsullied kings.
Um, so just yeah, I mean the Greens have their own delusions of grandeur, right?
And yeah, so this is this is the Winter Wolf hype fest. This is like Rody the Ruin. He's facing all his dudes and they're doing some kind of, you know, some sort of fraternity kind of routine here.
They look great. They really do look great. Like I said, the costume department knocked it out on this one.
This must have been a lot of fun to film. So, they're just Yeah, this is a little hurrah action here.
Uh, Black Alley, I mean, she looks great. This is her with Damon. Um, so yeah. Is that Who's that in the background? I can't tell.
And, um, and so, uh, you know, this guy looks a little bit like Indie Geek. Just a little. If he had longer hair, just saying that's cool. Maybe he got maybe there's a a Robert cameo. Maybe he got in here. Um, so Black Alley's there. No idea what's going on. What's Dam I think this is Damon saying in war all suffer.
Yes, it is.
More more Rody the Ruin. Yeah, I'm not crazy, right? I'm not crazy. That's that's a little There's a little resemblance there. I wonder if he'll notice. Anyway, lots just lots of enthusiasm from these winter wolves.
They have never seen some old guys happier to die for the dragon queen than these folks. Uh Gray Area just made a cool video about the Winter Wolves, by the way. Shout out Gray Area. She's back in action. So check her out.
And back in King's Landing. Who's that? That is Is that we see? Oh, this must be Tumbleton.
Yeah, this is not going to be um King's Land. I thought it was King's Landing for a second, but no, this looks like that same town that we saw in the earlier slide that we think is Tumbleton. So, yeah, that's probably could be Orand is lurking around, too, though. I guess he should perish at the Butcher Ball probably with uh with Kristen Cole. So, that probably is Orund and this this might be the betrayal.
This might be that's should be Vermathor there and Hugh. So maybe this is right after he switches sides. Hard to say.
Ride of the ruin. Tommy Flanigan. That's that's that actor's name. I knew that one. And just fired up, ready to go. You know, fired up, ready to go. There's the Dustin crossed axes, a version of the Dustin symbol. That's cool.
That's who Kristen Cole is begging for mercy at Butcher Ball. So, sorry buddy.
Uh, this Okay, now this is where he's saying in war all suffer. And he's doing a little bit in a war where all suffer.
Uh, and he's also says you've come so far yet you still don't know who you are.
Um, okay. So, maybe we can pick out some of the banners here. This is Damon.
Obviously, those those look like Blackwoods.
It could be red and black Targaryen armor or Blackwood armor. No, it's it's all Targaryen.
Looks like a Targaryen sigil on the horse, too. So, those must be Targaryen troops in the background. Who can we see?
Think I see a Frey banner.
What's the blue one? I can't tell what this blue one is. We see it in a couple of places.
They sort of change a lot of the banners. It's sometimes hard to um to recognize.
But Damon Dam, this is a little bit different. Like Damon is not involved in any of these battles in the books. He's kind of flying around the Riverlands, you know, after they take King's Landing. He's just really gallivanting, looking for Aemon. I like I like the idea of putting him and Caraxis in a battle, so I'm down for that.
I don't think there's any mods in the chat. Is the chat Is the chat going crazy?
Hopefully, no one's being inappropriate.
[cough and clears throat] Um, but yeah, we should have some mods.
Oh well, we'll be fine. It's But that wouldn't make sense. The Greens aren't defending the town. The Greens are attacking Tumbleton. So, that doesn't really make sense.
This must be this must be like some some adaption of the Riverlands battles because this does not the Greens are not defending a town in any of these battles that we actually have. They're essentially marching a bunch. You know, they're trying to cross the Red Fork.
Um they attack Acornh Hall, then they come up to the fish feed. And this doesn't really involve a town either. So this could just be it's Tumbleton but switch sides. That doesn't make any sense though because the whole thing about Tumbleton is that Tumbleton is the last thing between King's Landing and the Greens.
They are marching up from from Oldtown to get to King's Landing and Tumbleton is in the middle. So, yeah.
Why are people arguing about pronouns?
Just stop it. Grow up. Stop it. Cut it out right now, all of you. Thank you.
We're not talking about the trailer, so it's inappropriate. Thanks. Um, and let's see. I make it a point to call people by whatever they wish to be called. I don't really think that's a big deal. And if somebody makes a mistake one time, that's not necessarily a big deal or malicious intent so everyone can just chill out. Uh and so yeah, what we'll have to see what the dynamics of the battle is. It this does appear to be changed from the books. Uh but that is a big ass battle. I still think this is going to be some version of the fish feed. They've just given the Greens to a castle to sit in perhaps.
Now, that is Gwane.
And this looks kind of like King's Landing, but I don't know why he'd be in King's Landing. He was with uh Kristen Cole marching to Harrenhal.
So, what I'm not sure. Maybe he leaves.
Maybe this is not King's Landing. It really does look like King's Landing.
It's got those windows, right?
Does that look like King's Landing to you? sconces and the table, the furniture. This all really reminds me of King's Landing. So, I guess maybe Gwane leaves the army and goes back. Maybe he's running a message or something and then he gets caught in the sack. Um, I think in the books, Gwane dies in the fall of King. He's in King's Landing and Lutherant kills him. Uh, and so maybe they're sort of looping back for that plot uh moment. Yeah, that's probably what's going on. So, this is probably GW fighting a duel for his life. That's probably Luther or, you know, one of the other gold cloaks or something.
And we're back to the gullet, which again, this just looks ridiculous. All the fireballs flying from ship to ship.
Like, I mean, come on.
This is crazy. I just I'm going to continue to kind of raise an eyebrow. I won't say mock, but I will raise an eyebrow at the people that are crossing their arms. I'm not going to watch.
Like, okay, if you say so.
Just watch and complain. It's more fun than just complaining and not watching.
Um, and so here's your Winter Wolves charging.
So, yeah, again, the Greens are defending some small town here. Not sure this could maybe it's maybe it's like Honey Wine or something.
I don't know. I mean, we should expect they're going to change the battles anyway. So point is, let's watch this. That's a good catapult fling here.
I wouldn't want to get hit by those rocks, but look how big. Look how big the Riverland army is. It's huge.
So this is Corus obviously at the Gullet.
No, that looks like Corless at high tide because remember uh during the Battle of the Gullet, which kind of is not just one event, there's it's sort of a series of conflicts there. High Tide is sacked and burned. So, this is Corus looking at his castle that he built himself.
Remember, all his treasures, it gets pretty wrecked. Um, and so that is sad.
I'm sorry, Corus.
as someone who has built their own, you know, desk and bookshelf, it's it sucks. I'm sorry.
And this is Damon saying, "You've come so far, but you still don't know who you are." This is kind of reminds us of uh Quaith telling Danny to embrace her dragon. The dragons know who you are.
You know, they remember, do you? That kind of thing. Damon's giving her some of that energy.
Um, you know, we know how Damon feels about violence. Like he's saying, in war all suffer except for Damon. Damon thrives in war. Him and Caraxis are very comfortable in the middle of war.
And that's kind of what he was built for. So yeah, he's encouraging, excuse me, encouraging her to embrace brutality. Exactly right.
And here's Aean Harrenhal. He's got Blackfire.
Never one to pass up an advantage or fancy sword. Uh, and he is fighting.
He's not in his armor here. So, this could be some treachery, you know, where he's been rustled out of bed suddenly before he could put on his armor and he's fighting in the sexy here. Uh, but yeah, he's not going to not going to be losing.
I mean, again, you know, you sleep in Harrenhal, lots of bad dreams. Sometimes you think you're awake and you're still dreaming. It's It's hard to say, but this does look like a real sequence here, not a dream sequence. And there's there's Krispy Kristen. Oh, he's he's got some war paint on. Show me your war face.
Captain Krispy. Oh my goodness.
That's just so violent, you guys. That's a great face. I should have used that for the thumbnail.
Oh yeah. Gotta love him.
and Reneer call out to the maybe she's back in the sept thinking about how she can't really trust Allison.
Great lighting here.
Got the elf ears going on. Yeah, Emma Darcy well cast. I just not here for any complaints about the casting or Emma's performance. That's for sure. Shurco Lohar, which I believe is Stella Graves, is working on a video about this character who is pissed off and seeking revenge for the whooping that Damon and Corus put on the Triarchy. So, this is the person that's going to be sacking High Tide.
Pretty sick. Love the pirate costume here.
And yeah, the gullet's going to be crazy. I mean, all of this is going to be crazy. So this this Okay, now we're either having some real bad dreams or just like literally getting attacked by the bats.
The bats in Harrenhal. Love that. And of course eventually Harrenhal will be strongly associated with bats. House Lost and House um oh god the one that comes after Lost.
They're both using the Herrenhole bat.
So went. Thank you. Went. Exactly.
Right. This looks cool though. This is very like little Dracula vibes here, you know, with the lighting in the shot of it. So that's cool. We're all waiting to see what uh Aean's Harrenhal experience is like after seeing Damon last year, obviously.
And then we get back to the smashed Lego city and that pivots right to Reneer being very upset. So again, I say she is uncovering the rotting corpse of her father which is rotting even more than it was when it was alive. And yeah, it's going to be lots of horror.
And uh Rene does Rene looks like she hasn't been getting much sleep, much like myself. Life is short, guys. Don't sleep through it.
I sleep well, just in small amounts anyway. Like many ADHD folks. Again, sheep stealer does not trim the claws.
Okay. See that? See that long four talon? That's dope. That's dope right there. That's for cracking open the foods. Uh yeah, chicken feets. Exactly.
So, this is Sheepsteeler on the way to the Gullet. Um, it could be that Raina's arriving late. She's concerned about the kids probably. So, this is like a desperate emergency flight. She's just hopped on a dragon and now is just like careening into the battle. Uh, here's a dragon's egg. The dialogue over this is I think this this is either have you not betrayed your queen and then there's bring Aegon the usurper to me and did I not warn you that you would come to this? So it's one of those things.
This is this could be it's hard to say.
I mean it could be a bunch of things.
Does anybody recognize the clothes here to figure out who this is? Is that Rene and Damon with a dragon's egg or is it Yeah, it could be Aemon.
This could be an egg that was with the kids in the veil.
It is a green egg. Don't know if that means anything.
Who do we think this is? Aemon and Alice, people are saying.
Ah, yeah. Right. So if this is um Yeah. Well, so in the books supposedly Alice claims to have gotten pregnant by Aemon and she's claims that she's got, you know, a dragon and all this stuff. Um so hard to say.
Is that Aean's shirt there? I think it is. I think it is.
And here's Aegon again. What is that sigil? I wish I could tell better. It looks like a fish, but that's not the Tully sigil. So, I'm not sure.
That's Blackfire's hilt. Okay, so that would be Aean and Alice. That's interesting. They have a dragon's egg at Harrenhal. That is very interesting.
And so here's Aegon with the just incredible burn makeup and he's in the woods. I've I've really wondering if they're going to show us Aegon retaking Dragonstone this season because in Fire and Blood, it's a surprise. They don't tell us that that happened until Rene gets there and then it's like surprise, Aegon's already taken it, right? So I if they don't show us that this season, then there's not a lot for Aegon to do but run around um and run into some contrived plot lines. So, I'm kind of thinking they might have him retake the uh retake dragon stone. Could be a Baratheon sigil, but smudgy. Yeah, it's hard to say. It's really smudgy. I I don't know that there's enough on there to be that one.
See if there's a clear shot. It's got a little bit of a C-shape to it. I just don't know. House Mutin. Okay. So, Mutton is they're going to be right by Let me see if the gullet shows this.
Yeah.
So, Rook's Rest and Dusk Andale. You know, Rook's Rest is where Sunfire went down. So, you can see how close that is to Dragon Stone, which is under the Dragons here. But, yeah, Dragon Stone.
Rook's rest. So, he's somewhere in this vicinity getting ready to get to Dragonstone.
It is mutin. Okay. M and mutin is um maidenpool.
It' be one of these three.
Yes. Okay.
So, yeah, that's where he's he's looking up. So, that that maybe that's the return of Sunfire. He's looking I mean, he's looking at a dragon here. Uh, so it's either Sunfire or he's close enough to see some of the dragons taking off from Dragonstone to the Gullet, but it's probably Sunfire.
And here's Raina.
She's looks like she hasn't been home in a couple weeks. And obviously, she's looking at Sheep Steeler. Probably getting ready to hop on Sheep Steeler's back.
I don't see a sheep in her hands. I don't know how that's going to go without a sheep.
But yeah, just holding out judgment on that. [clears throat] Oh, maybe it's cannibal. Yeah, I it's cannibal. Yes, Aegon is looking at cannibal. Confirmed.
Must be. Must be. So, it's a red salmon on a white field. Okay, it is a fish. At least I was right about that.
Don't know who that is in the caverns, but there's obviously dragon fire happening.
This looks like Is that dragon stone or is this maybe under the dragon pit?
It's some sort of cavelike entrance. So that could be dragon stone.
Aegon visiting Sunfire in a cave. Hm.
Yeah, could be. Could be.
And this is somebody getting burned here.
Can't really tell who that is, but a lot of people are going to get burned.
So, yeah, that could be Harrenhal. It could be any of the battles.
Allison does uh she has a good shocked face.
This I think is butcher ball. I thought about this butcher. Somebody is getting surrounded and annihilated here. So I think this is the butcher ball. The butcher ball happens not near a lake or river and it amounts to a snuffing out of Kristen Cole's army. And so I I think this is Butcher Ball.
Yeah, I love the look of this. This is incredible. They filmed it right with the the morning fog burning off here.
And this is incredible.
And look guys, I think [clears throat] this is the last three seconds of Jayce's life here. He's like flying forward and looking back at the camera and then he looks forward like he's about to get shot literally about his about to get taken down. I'm sorry, but this is like this is the last we'll ever see of his beautiful hair and glorious cape. You should always face forward when you're riding a dragon.
You can see that shot comes close and misses. We saw sheep stealer get hit with a little little fireball. Uh so we have yet to see in in Fire and Blood there's a little dispute about how it happens. It's thought that the dragon is hit by a scorpion or gets caught in the rigging and ends up in the water and then Jayce is swimming and he is hit by a crossbow in the water. That is what happens in the books. So we will see.
Yeah, just doing a little mogging before before he goes in the drink.
I mean, that's that's a nice shot there.
It's a nice shot. I love the saddle.
That's a cool looking saddle.
She'll never see his like again.
Do you see what I'm saying? Like Emma Darcy pulls off serpentine like nobody like nobody's business. This is just that's such a great Oh my god, dude.
I just again not all of the plot lines with Allison and Reneer make any sense at all. Okay. But the actors are really good and I I just would encourage you to try to separate this out and still enjoy the scenes that are happening. Yeah, this is this is just wonderfully reptilian. It's great. And I mean that in a complimentary way, obviously. Um Emma is playing a lizard person. This This is a lizard queen. That is That is her. So really incredible. And if And we're betraying me again on the slider.
Why does it keep doing that? We're about to the end anyway, I guess.
Oh man.
Legendary stuff.
And so there you go. Um we are, let's see, 53 minutes. So I've got seven minutes left to take some quick questions from you guys. We will be hitting on some House of the Dragon topics this Sunday and you know in the Sundays leading up to the show. Uh and I again strongly recommend the battles video. That's my best preview video for the season is the battles video from a couple weeks ago. I probably will do uh like a Hugh Hammer fluff piece or something like in the week before the the show starts. But my battles that is my big season preview. That's the best way to preview the season is to understand the book battles. So, let's see. Do you think they're using four-legged sigil just to mess with George? Um, maybe.
Oh, yeah. We Hugh Hammer needs some fluffing. You know, he's his beard is fluffy, but it could always be fluffier.
Did Rene get a gold dragon, a silver dragon, and a bronze dragon for the Olympics? Uh yeah, she kind of did because her dragon is gold. We It's called yellow by the maesters, but that definitely seems like slander.
And uh the bronze fury and silver wing.
Yeah, we got all the medals. That's cool.
Have they given a reason to why they cut nettles? No. No, they're not going to give us a reason.
They released casting for Harrenhal play, too. They did. They did. The the cast for the Herrenhole play is out there to be seen. It looks pretty strong.
The problem with Hugh Hammer is nothing like the books version. No, he's better.
He's a man of the people here in the show. He's he's like a trade union leaders representing the small folk.
He's great. He's he's he's the true king, man. That's who I want to see.
And of course, he does declare himself king at Tumbleton. And there's a prophecy about the hammer falling on the dragon, which sounds like it's about Robert and Rhaegar, but hammer uh you know, he says thinks it's about him.
Yeah, I haven't heard about any leaked speeches from Aegon. So, do you think there's any way Rene takes on Nettles as an alt identity for history to Oh, Raina. No. No. I probably not. I mean, that would be creative, but I think Nettles is just cut, guys. I I don't know what else to say. Our friend Nettles, girl Nettles, will be on the postgame live streams, and of course, I will be doing postgame live streams, but Nettles the character.
No, we're not getting it. Um, they said they're merging. Yeah, I don't They didn't say why. It's just a choice they made.
And then, yeah, thanks for watching the First Man video. That thing is rocking.
You guys are all checking that out, so I appreciate that. Obviously, I worked really hard on that one, so that means a lot. It's actually one of the best releases I've ever had, and it really, really means a lot to be honest. Um, you never know as a YouTuber, you never know. Sometimes, like I worked really hard on the battles video and put it out and the algorithm kind of slept on it.
It's starting to pick up now. Uh, but the First Man video is rocking and rolling. So, thank you >> [clears throat] >> Yeah, the shot of Damon on the black horse was really cool. Where's that?
Yeah, right there. That was a sick shot.
I agree with that.
Caraxis looks like he got a tan. He's looking a little more black than he usually does. He got tan a little bit.
Yeah, I I'm I'm with you there. Like, it's time to move on. Nettles is not going to be in the show. It sucks. I don't like the decision, but there's no point in talking about it really. I mean, it's it's been apparent for a long time that that's what's happening. So, it is what it is.
Um, so I I kind of do think, yeah, that Helena, they're just going to have Helena give birth to Mor and then run on with the bitter br some version of the Bitterbridge plot. That'll probably still happen.
Honestly, it'd be funny if they weren't gonna do that, but after George got so mad, Ryan's like, "Fine, fine.
We'll kill the freaking toddler for you, George." Um, on a scale of 1 to 10, are you excited about season 3 more than season two? Yes. You know, and and the thing is this would be more balanced if the battle of the gullet had been in last season as it was supposed to be.
And maybe maybe Reneer taking King's Landing would have been the final episode of last season. That would have been stronger. Um, and I think it'd be more balanced. But instead, what we're getting is this over like this super battleheavy season where this season's going to be mostly carnage and then people running around around the carnage. So, I don't know how you couldn't be excited for this. This is going to be some kind of groundbreaking stuff to do battles this big on television and with dragons and stuff. What was Grayer's theory about the birthing scene? I forget. I think she was talking about maybe a a dream sequence and some some past character or something like that. I forget what she said.
I think it probably is going to just be Helena giving birth to Mor, but they love to trick us. So, yeah. And that's a Sarah. So, yeah. Hugh's mother, Sarah Targaryen, Jer's uh Jihar's daughter be like, would that be Viseris's aunt?
But, uh, yeah, I don't know that.
I don't know. Maybe.
Yeah. I can't I can't um I'm not good at recognizing if somebody in a scene is really an actor or not. Yeah. Be his aunt. Yeah. I do like the idea that Hugh Hammer's mother is Sarah. That's a cool backstory. So, if they want to give us more of that, that'd be dope.
Oh, Sophia has Fia Sabon, the actor that plays Helena, has said the shot of the woman in labor is her. And I think she posted it on her IG now that I'm remembering this.
Yeah. So that is Fia Sabon. That is Helena. So she's either giving birth or, you know, having surgery or something crazy.
So pro probably they're going back for Mor. That would make the most sense to me.
That would make the most sense.
I'm really wondering what this is. Yeah, they this is just a change. We'll just have to see. I'm not going to crush my brain to make it work.
You know, it's one of these it's this is almost certainly not Tumbleton because again, the Greens aren't trying to hold anything. They're trying to march on King's Landing.
So, they wouldn't be holding a city or a town.
And the greens have the bigger force.
And this looks like a a green force that's outnumbered. So this should be this is this some version of the fish feed red fork action.
That is how I'm going to say that this is.
But we'll find out. And and we're going to get lots of battles as a point. So it kind of I don't know how much it matters.
But uh someone someone go ask Indie Geek how he got in the trailer. [laughter] How do he pull that string? Man gets all the brakes. No, I'm kidding. Um so I'm getting ready to wrap it up, but just real quick, if you have any last questions, throw them in and I will answer. Uh but if you want more House of the Dragon preview, again, check out the battles video.
Yes, Black Alley is hot. And as Gray Area pointed out uh in her video yesterday, Black Alley kind of is the winner out of all this. She gets to marry Cregan Stark and and they just come out smelling like roses, basically, the two of them. So, they get to kill a bunch of people, then they go get married. It's a northern love story.
Uh yeah, we know we're going to see Daron. Dron is in the other trailer as is Tacarian.
Yeah, Black Alley and Cregan. That's the best. It doesn't get any better than that. Doesn't get any better.
Helena can try to ride Dream Fire and escape from the city. I mean, well, you're saying that's how she ends up injured. What looks like she's given birth? Yeah, maybe. But I don't think that's going to happen.
We haven't seen any clues about that.
He's he's blown that horn for all he's worth.
Yeah. And this is the other thing about the show, like, you know, we can criticize the writers and all that stuff. Um, but like also, I mean, a big part of this is the performance of the actors, right? And not just the main actors, but also these extras getting out and filming these battles. Like, I'm going to watch it. I'm going to be here for it.
No gifted memberships anymore. You should be able to black alley mkin dudes and crean like yeah I'd fight a war for that woman.
Yeah, I've wondered. Okay, so I wondered if Cole is going to die um you know at the butcher ball as he's supposed to. I think so. Probably. If you look at all of his lines, he's, you know, really basically expressing PTSD and depression and trauma and just sort of feeling alienated from everything. So, I feel like his arc is coming to an end as it does in the books.
Yeah, there was the writer strike that messed with season 2 also. So, they had a lot of challenges. Thank you, River Mist Fay. I appreciate you. There's some gifted memberships. [snorts] Um, I don't think I don't think the complications of season 2 excuse all the choices in the writing necessarily, but there is a lot of it that that was shaped by that. So, I do have hope that season 3 will be quote unquote better than season two. Um, but I just don't know how they can go wrong with all these battles in a sense. You know what's going to happen to the newly born Mor? No, he's only going to be born to die in an atrocity that provokes more atrocities and Helena uh taking her own life. Yeah.
Emma Darcy confirmed that we can see Dreamfire in the Dragon Pit with Helena.
Okay. I don't It was hard to tell where Helena was.
Where's Helena?
Watching it in reverse.
Just not having much luck finding anything when I want to here. Sorry, guys. Let's see here. Where is Helena?
Yeah, she's not in the dragon pit. Not in this scene anyway.
But uh yeah, I mean, no one's going to complain if she rides Dream Fire. She doesn't in the books. Um but uh that's cool.
All right, folks. Well, I'm going to go ahead and wrap it up here. Thank you for coming out and I hope I will see you on Sundays for the postgame streams after the episodes.
I think there will be a lot to talk about. So, in the meantime, check out the battles video. I'll link that in the description below after I end the stream. And check out an hour and 46 minutes of the true history of the first men if you like a song of ice and fire deep lore because I just put that out a couple days ago. So, thanks guys and I will see you on Sunday. Sean's going to be here and we're going to talk about Roman Starks, the Roman influences on the origin of House Stark, of which there are many. It's a lot of Rome in House Stark, which is a little surprising. Uh, and then we're also going to talk about some Roman influences elsewhere in the story. So, I will see you on Sunday with that.
Cheers.
