Demolishing buildings is more complex than construction because demolition requires precise control over collapse direction, with circular structures being particularly risky due to potential mid-support development during collapse, and building clusters requiring complex multi-point blasting plans that can cost tens of millions of dollars, making demolition significantly harder than construction.

Construction is Easy, Destruction is Hard! 🏗️⛏️Añadido:
With a loud boom, the chimney slammed heavily onto the excavator. This was a scene of a mistake during an excavator's chimney demolition. Originally, according to the preset plan, the excavator first cleared a gap on the right side of the chimney, and the chimney was supposed to tilt towards the right. However, at the moment the chimney collapsed, it instantly changed direction and fell straight toward the excavator. Fortunately, the structure had already decomposed as it fell, and the driver suffered only minor injuries and was fine. When demolishing such large buildings, the tilt direction cannot always be set. So vertical blasting is generally used. For example, when this building was demolished, a three-point vertical blasting method was adopted with multiple blasting points placed on the upper, lower, and middle floors to perfectly achieve a vertical collapse of the building. However, this method is more risky for circular tower structures because at the moment the building falls, the middle part of the tower can easily develop support, causing it to tilt in another direction.
If there are other buildings nearby, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Furthermore, the most difficult is the demolition of building clusters. This not only requires strict control over the collapse direction of each building, but even a single blasting plan can cost tens of millions of dollars. With high costs and huge risks, it's no wonder many blasting masters say that demolition is harder than construction.
