This legal confrontation exposes the futility of local governments prioritizing ideological signaling over constitutional adherence. It serves as a necessary check on legislative overreach that ignores established legal boundaries.

They Obstinately Pushed Forward, Even When They Were Warned They Were Breaking The Law!!!Added:
Well, hello and thank you for watching another episode of News of the Pew's where you can count on unapologetic 2A advocacy gun rights are human rights.
Friends, the DOJ keeps doing based things and it feels confusing and uncomfortable. I need an adult. First, they sued the LA County Sheriff for slow-walking permits, then the ATF rolled back over 30 of their stupid face rules.
By the way, you do not want to know what the ATF's 34th rule is. Do not Google that, seriously. But now, the DOJ is suing Denver for their standard capacity magazine ban and assault weapon ban. On April 28th, the DOJ sent what amounts to a cease and desist letter to the mayor demanding they stop enforcing their blatantly unconstitutional law. They defied the Department of Justice, so now they will meet them on the field of battle. Or probably just in court, I guess. But how cool would it be if lawyers had to fight to the death? And the DOJ is also suing the state of Colorado over its own magazine ban.
That's right, friends. The DOJ has two lawsuits in flight against those dirty Subaru-driving hippies. Double the lawsuits, double the chances of success.
It is hard to overstate how important this shift from the DOJ is. We have never seen an executive branch actively file lawsuits to fight gun control. And now, we're seeing the DOJ fire off lawsuits like it's a puckle gun. And they didn't choose trivial matters, either. One way or another, this case should settle the question of whether states can ban classes of weapons or accessories. If they go after Minnesota's shiny new law, they can create a circuit split and take a SCOTUS win.
But hey, it would be impossible for me to produce quality 2A propaganda without you. That's right. I don't have any sponsors, so I literally could not make this content without your support. Now, don't get it twisted. I'm not going to start shilling for the administration. I'm just reporting things as they are happening. Pardon me if my excitement looks like cheerleading because it's not, but I do think I have a reason to be excited. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon directly said in an interview they intend to force a Supreme Court decision. Friends, this is to me they are not just pandering. to go for a kill on an important topic.
But she also went on to thank President Trump for being all leadery and putting out an EO that set the tone.
And he did do that. I considered it a bunch of hot air at the time based on his previous term, but it's looking like maybe I was wrong. Is it possible the president actually listened to the people who got him elected?
That doesn't seem like it's in his character to me. What do you folks think? Let me know down below. The Maryland Supreme Court struck down another Flores law statute that tried to make all public places off-limits to carry a g-g-g-ghost gun law and a law that made it illegal to shoot around kids. That's the headline anyway. Below the fold it turns out they were county ordinances and the court ruled on the grounds of state preemption, not constitutional rights. So, no larger scale win to celebrate here, but a win nevertheless for the residents of Montgomery County Maryland and perhaps a wake-up call to the Minneapolis City Council because Minnesota has a preemption law, too, which expressly prohibits the ordinance the council is considering today as I record this. It's typical control freak [ __ ] Assault weapon ban, standard capacity magazine ban and of course a ghost gun ban. The City Council has been warned that their ordinance is illegal and they are obstinately proceeding anyway. There really needs to be a legal penalty for politicians who knowingly pass illegal laws. What do you think the penalty ought to be? And don't get yourself on another list with your answer. Well, folks, rounds complete on two, but before I go, your moment of completion. I love you.
