A super El Niño is a strong El Niño event characterized by sea surface temperatures 2°C or more above normal in the Central Pacific, which can trigger global weather patterns including drought and wildfire risks in Western Canada, increased extreme weather probability in Southern Quebec due to Atlantic circulation patterns, and potential record-breaking world temperatures, with Environment Canada forecasting a 90% chance of El Niño development this year.

Super El Niño is expected to hit by June; dramatic weather in southern Quebec likelyAdded:
Though spring may have sprung, Quebecers are ready for a summer break. Well, after the winter that we had, we're really hoping for a really nice, warm summer. I'm hoping that we have an early summer. Sun.
That's I've waited a long time for that. But that sunshine could come with something more, as Environment Canada says a possible super El Nino is expected to emerge in the Pacific Ocean by June.
Super El Nino, what it means is that it is super strong event. So, we are like 2° or more than normal in that region, Central Pacific.
While Quebec is far from the Pacific, El Nino can lead to a chain of weather events around the globe. In areas like Western Canada, Simon Legault says it could mean higher drought and wildfire risk. They are more affected than we are here, but our region is more prone to being affected by Atlantic circulation and Atlantic association as well. So, there are different kind of other phenomenon that affect us. Legault says there's a 90% chance of El Nino developing this year, and coupled with global warming, the odds of extreme weather in Southern Quebec are higher.
He says El Nino could also lead to record-breaking world temperatures both this year and next. Let's pray that there's also a bit of more humidity for also rain, cuz if it gets too dry, this is where we're going to have more problems. Legault says it's too soon to predict summer rain patterns for now, but the best thing Canadians can do is stay weather alert. Be ready to face everything that it might be coming. So, warmer temperatures, so you know how to do it, like drink a little bit more, take shady areas, and uh and if it get rainy too much, you got just have to prevent flooding. And the summer many have been waiting for may well be the one to watch. And as says it extreme, CTV News.
