This video is a comedic review of the 2020 film 'Run,' directed by Tyler Perry and starring Erica Mena and Drew Sidora. The reviewer criticizes the film for its one-take format, lack of character development, and illogical plot elements, while noting its nostalgic B-movie feel and suitability for background viewing during errands. The reviewer humorously compares the film to childhood B-movies and notes that the script appears to have been written by AI, resulting in a haphazard ending.

Run Recap #drewsidora's Acting & Ralph the AlienAdded:
I have to say this Was this directed by Tyler Perry? This was directed by Tyler Perry. Hold on. Let me see if Tyler had something to do with this cuz this was a old one take movie. They shot this in one take. Now, I have to say it reminded me of I don't want to say a good B movie from the '80s, but a B movie that you enjoyed in your childhood.
And it's it's a nostalgic feel it is it's a nostalgic feeling of watching ridiculousness on television. So, I actually have to say I watched it while I was running errands on my phone.
So, you know, I was in the supermarket.
I was on the bus. When I was on the bus, I was locked in. When I was in the market, I was finding my olive oil.
That was when I made that Tik Tok that I had to poop in the market. And this woman looked at me while I was saying that on Tik Tok and I was like like she ain't [ __ ] But, it's a great movie to have on in the background, something to put on for the kids that ain't too scary.
I can't believe I enjoyed it. So, let's go over what happened because there were a few scenes that were memorable. Like the beginning was incredibly boring.
Um Now, I will say this and Cynthia I'm sorry. Claudia, I have to say they gave you the most heavy lifting of the acting. They said, "Look, no none of these others." Erica Mena was in this.
Erica Mena. I don't know the name of the woman who was the final girl or the lead, the one that was hunching on um Marques Houston. Almost called him Martell Jordan.
I And Martell Jordan, I mean, I'm on my auntie today.
The beginning of the movie, Marquis and this girl break up the day of a paid wedding over really nothing. I mean, she said, "Oh, we just had a bad argument."
I forgot what it was about because it was boring. But Claudia and the girls were like, "Look, we should go on a girls' trip. You already have the time scheduled off. We'll go get a cabin."
And so, they drive up to this cabin and eventually we see the boys are following them. Like all of their boyfriends, their friends, you know, and they all are surprised this wedding was called off, too. So, they're going to see if we can get these crazy kids back together.
However, the girls get up the mountain first and there's an alien attack.
Claudia's killed. Claudia said, "Get me out of this." Once I've done my actual acting and she was the most believable.
I mean, the script was chat GPT.
The script like I don't want any human to claim to have written that. I don't.
It was very like a seventh or eighth grade project. Uh there was no character development. There was really no need for character development. Like they wasted the first 30 minutes of the movie trying to get us to give a [ __ ] about Erica Mena and Drew Sidora.
Claudia has fans. Claudia has jobs. But Erica Mena?
Now, Drew, you are a housewife by technicality.
By the skin of your teeth.
By the fact they can't fight because Brit Eady failed and Kenya got fired.
Otherwise, you would have been out with a foot in the back of those tacky outfits.
But yeah, they they kill her, the other girls get inside, and this is when the dumb [ __ ] happens.
So, these super strong aliens like threw Drew, and of course Drew has a gun in the car, and we can't get to it. But, they threw Drew, they killed Claudia, they're moving cars, they chase you inside, you just going to lock the door, and they're not going to huff, puff, and blow their way in. And then, the other side of the cabin is all glass.
All glass. The aliens ain't going to look through that fish bowl and try to The news comes on and says, "If you stay still, you'll be okay. And if they show up, use the light from your cell phone."
Something in that But, oh my god.
>> [laughter] >> You might need to really watch this.
You might need to see it for just one thing.
I went back to take a picture of the funniest moment.
And oh.
So, the alien Drew runs around the car, and the alien grabs her, and pulls her back, and then squats over her and makes this noise.
Oh [laughter] my god.
It's the squat. IT'S THE PULLING SQUAT.
And then, he kind of looks like Ralph.
So, I could see Ralph squatting like that, too.
Squatting in the basement.
Wow, she deals with squatters wherever she goes. But, I guess she's the squatter now. Something in that light stops the aliens. Seventh or eighth grade. We then get a like 20-minute scene of how we going to leave the house. The men didn't get in the house by this time. Uh but of course they left their cell phones in the car. One of them got got by alien. And then we're arguing about how we going to get the light. We've got to charge our phones.
The aliens cut the power to the house.
The president comes on and says, "Child, I don't know what we going to do. We got to bomb all the major cities cuz they figured out how to cut our power."
So people, you know, they they got a whole bunch of Amazon solar batteries that people couldn't order. I mean, I guess you know, how many aliens are there cuz there got to be somebody that's got solar power. Also, like the sun This just the plain old sun. What about a magnifying The [ __ ] don't make no sense. So they rigged the house to explode and kill the aliens so they can get away.
Makes no sense either. Erica Menna sacrifices herself and I didn't enjoy watching her live. I didn't enjoy watching her die. Both have been phony.
Both have been phony. The other characters bite the big one too. And we have Marcus and our final girl. He tell her, "You got to make it out." He sacrifices himself but she die cuz the city getting blown up anyway.
And that was the [ __ ] They tried to give you a missed ending and I'm like, "Don't you ever get near Stephen King's works with this haphazard bullshit." Or maybe that was the AI just stealing.
Just stealing and said, "Let's try to give it a and you know, a thought-provoking ending." And I'm like, "The only thought I had was I'm glad I watched this while I was running around.
I'm glad I didn't sit with popcorn."
That Yeah, this is a bus movie, baby.
This is a public transportation This is I'm drowning something out.
>> [laughter] >> This is I'm on my way and I hope they still have some burrata at the grocery.
This is something to watch while you're picking up dinner. It's a pre-movie movie.
>> [gasps and laughter] >> It's some [ __ ] we should be watching in clips on Tik Tok. Remember when we used to watch movies in clips on Tik Tok?
I miss that. Now we watch clips of Law & Order SUV, which I never miss a one on.
Or you or Unsolved Mysteries has found a new home.
And I'm like some of these cases I remember.
Uh when I compare an episode of Unsolved Mysteries, just any, to Run.
Unsolved Mysteries you can sit down, watch and enjoy an hour of well-produced television with a snack.
Or you can watch Run while you're running around.
