The video captures the inevitable friction between professional betting integrity and the performative demands of social media algorithms. It is a sharp reminder that in this community, clout-chasing often replaces actual market edge.

Is This What Sports Betting Twitter Really Thinks Of Us?Hinzugefügt:
All right, Ferris wrote another blog and uh I've had people DMing me all week telling me I need to read this because apparently I'm in it. Apparently a bunch of our guys are in it. The hammer itself is in it. So I haven't read it yet.
We're going to go through it together live first time. Quick context for anyone who doesn't know who Ferris is.
Handle on X is Ferrisb_86.
Uh longtime gambling Twitter guy I'd call him. He's been on this channel before on circles off. I've interviewed him before. I think that episode is a few years old now, but you can check it out. It's down in the description below.
A part-time better, full-time job bets on the side. And he writes one of these blogs every couple of months. And they're always spicy, and usually I would say that they're pretty fair. I find them really entertaining. His last one uh was a pretty interesting piece, which I I thought was excellent. So, uh good writer, if you want to follow him on Twitter, he tweets out these blogs whenever they come out. Uh this one, I've heard, is basically a gambling Twitter roast. And uh I don't know what's coming. I haven't read it yet. So let's see just how bad it is.
>> All right, I'm gonna pull this up on screen so that you guys can follow along in real time here as I go through it and uh and give my thoughts. So uh I'll read it honestly just out loud and I I'll I'll interject whenever I think I need to. So a little bit of uh looks like some sort of preamble here. Back in college, I was in a business fraternity.
I had never joined a regular fraternity because I wasn't a meatthead loser who wanted to spend money to hang out with other meatthead losers and act like hazing was super fun and cool. And before the regular frat guys chime in with how they're not all like that and your frat was full of chill dudes, I get it. There are exceptions to every rule.
By and large, at my university, frat guys lived up to every single stereotype. I I like Ferris's writing style. It's a good writing style. Back to the business fraternity. It was co-ed. had a great blend of social and professional gatherings and is probably the only reason I ever got my [ __ ] together. It's also the reason I ended up working for a massive corporation, putting me on the brink of a full-blown meltdown with a severe side of with a side of severe depression. You win some, you lose some. Once a semester, our business fraternity would have these evaluation nights. I forget the actual term we use for them, but here's the gist. The executive committee, which was about 20 members, would get together and discuss each of the other members flaws.
It was framed as an event where we could receive honest feedback from our peers in a professional manner, an effort to help each member grow, but also learn how to deliver uncomfortable messages to others. So, okay, he's framing this as like he's kind of of setting up the roast here. Basically, you can imagine how this went. Every member loved it the night of and left the meeting feeling energized. But it turns out that when you point out the flaws of your college age peers and let them stew on it for a few days, there's a chance those conversations come back around during your weekend festivities. Things that were constructive criticism on Wednesday night and now been twisted into horrible insults in the mind of a hammered college student on Saturday night.
Needless to say, the constructive criticisms were normally revisited during peak drunk times, and it led to some must-see verbal abuse. watch two female members scream at each other over who didn't dress professionally more often was A+ entertainment. Uh again, love the writing style, good backstory, kind of setting up where we're going here. Um and what did we all do during our weekly meeting the following Wednesday in true college kid fashion?
We acted as if nothing happened and none of us remembered the chaos. Why we ever thought it was a good idea to have those evaluation nights is beyond me. I get the point. But at that age and in that setting, it was just a bunch of mindless [ __ ] that could only cause trouble.
Um, I'm pretty brutally honest with my friends as well. And uh, this was from a young age. I wonder if uh wonder if behind the behind my back or anything like that, they didn't really appreciate that. But, uh, I don't know. However, the real reason those weekend fights happened was that both parties knew there was a hint of truth to what was said during the evaluation night.
Sometimes it was more than a hint of truth and a person was flat out being told something that sucked about them.
It made you acknowledge parts of yourself you choose to ignore and or vehemently disagree with. So what have I done? I strapped into the blog chair and got to work on gambling Twitter superlatives. Huge shout out to Backdoorbeard for the idea. All credit to him that have a hint of truth to them or as can sometimes be the case maybe more than just a hint of truth to the award. Just remember to behave like a college kid and act as if none of this ever happened by next week. Before I launch into all of my marks, I got to be rabbit this [ __ ] If I'm going to rip on all of you, I better point out all of my terrible, awkward, annoying flaws before they get thrown back in my face. Without further ado, here are Ferris's superlatives. Okay, so good intro. He's setting up why he's allowed to do this.
I would say this is classic Ferris. You know, spends roughly 500 words earning the right to throw a punch at other people. Typical academic move, but um but we'll let him cook here and see what he gets to. So, he's writing about himself. Most likely to command zero respect. Okay, interesting. Um very personal. Flopup recently wrote an awesome blog. That was an awesome blog.
Um if you haven't checked it out, also he gave some credit to me. So, I'm going to I'm going to promote it a little bit with one of those key points being to take on more risk. Reach out to people who could further uh who could help you further an idea, help you make money, or just strike up a casual friendship. If they don't respond or never follow up, who cares? You're in the same spot you were before you took a chance. And we know uh excuse me, and we hear variations of the same story over and over. Someone reached out to someone way more wellknown than themselves. They had a back and forth, and now they're good buddies accomplishing all sorts of amazing things. My experiences are exactly like that except the complete opposite. I cannot tell you how many times I've reached out to someone with what I thought was an interesting topic, an opportunity for us both to financially benefit or just a general question and not get a any type of response. Not a, hey, busy, a follow-up later, that's super interesting, let me look into it. Straight up zero responses more times than I can count. And if I do do get a response, it's normally a half-assed one, two weeks later and acting as if I just sent my message two minutes ago. Um, okay. I I got to I got to stop right here because I have to come clean on something. Ferris actually sent me a voice note pretty recently. Took me way longer to get back to him than I should have. So, there's a real chance that this is about me or at least partially about me.
And look, I I don't think I I don't actually think it's that Ferris doesn't command respect. Here's what I think the real diagnosis is. Everyone in this industry, I don't want to say everyone, most people are running around with their hair on fire all the time. like cold outreach even from people you genu genuinely like and respect sometimes it it gets forgotten. Uh I got that voice note while I was in another meeting and I I clicked the telegram message probably showed it as red and then I forgot to respond. Some of it is just timing. Some of it is too much going on. I I don't know. I'll chop it up with someone at Bet Bash for like three hours, but then never respond to one of their DMs because I forget or I'm just lazy or I got something else going on. It's not an excuse. It's just an honest diagnosis.
Honest diagnosis. I said that right.
Been saying, you know, mispronouncing words all kinds lately. Um, anyways, I got Ferris's response, but if that is, if that is me, then, uh, yeah, that's, you know, that's on me. What are you going to do? At some point, I have to come to terms with the fact that I don't command the respect I wish I did. Again, I don't think that's the case necessarily. My mom was way off. I am not a very important person. I really do find it baffling when I point blank tell someone I'm willing to pay them considerable money to help with something and they just uh excuse me they don't so much as give me a thumbs down emoji or some other backhanded insult or excuse. I don't expect if it's a numbers game and the stories we hear are from people who did this hundreds of times before it worked or if I really do suck that much. I'm guessing it's the latter. Yeah. Like I I don't know.
That's uh definitely some sort of like introspective and self-reflection that Ferris is doing there. I think he might have gone to the wrong conclusion based off of the um the data that's available, but that's just my opinion on the situation. All right. Most likely to reach out to a slimy tote asking about getting down on a sport, I bet, because he sells packages of the same sport and not get a response. That's an interesting uh quote unquote award. This is what we in the blog biz call building on a previous topic. Not only am I so desperate to get more money down for my partners and I on the sport we bet that I reached out to a random Twitter user, I also got cold shouldered by a [ __ ] tout. A long depressing look in the mirror is in my future. Um, yeah.
Listen, I mean, getting ignored by anyone is rough. I guess if you don't really respect that person and you're getting ignored by them, uh, that one would sting for sure. Most likely to be driven out of sports betting in a few years. Okay, interesting. I know what Ferris does. I don't know if he's going to comment on this in this blog. Um, he he did send me like a model to to proof before to take a look at. Anyways, let's I am not good enough to keep up. Plain and simple. The market we dominate is drying up. I don't have enough time to dive into other sports. And even if I did, I'm not smart enough to compete with you, the person reading this. What I've come to realize recently is that I'm smart enough to grasp the intricacies of advanced betting when they're explained on a pod. But the disconnect lies in coming up with those those ideas completely on my own. I think that honestly that's a very common uh issue, if you want to call it an issue. I think it's a common trait. I fully comprehend what the guests or hosts are saying, but there's just no possible way I would have been able to develop that edge on my own. That gap between understanding the edge and actually creating the edge is probably the most difficult part of sports betting to explain to a normie or even to a somewhat advanced better. Um I I tend to agree those concepts are really tough to explain. One of the biggest issues on this channel, um, I I not I get a lot of feedback of like, well, you're telling me not telling me what not to do in sports betting, but how about you tell me what to do instead or show me how. It's simply it's not that easy. And on top of that, when you're in the content creation space, you also don't want to give away every edge that you have and show people how to do things exactly how you're doing them as well. But um I do know a lot of people who who genuinely uh struggle with that that problem. Uh prediction markets are pretty established and probably going to keep growing and I'm 99.99% sure people are getting super [ __ ] rich off the things yet I'm sitting here with a thumb up my ass trying to find ways to get a little extra money down on AAA baseball. Um I I'll keep going and then I'll I'll address this whole section. and it seems long. I refuse to believe I have zero value, but it's trending that way. I have a million legal accounts I can still get a hold of as I've never truly tapped into my network of family and friends. Many, many legal accounts are at my disposal, but passing them off or having someone utilize you for the accounts never really caught on quite like PPH. Yeah. I mean, the reality is most people don't want to take on legal accounts unless they're already like extremely primed or VIP. That's just the reality of them. there's like a higher barrier to entry uh at that point because of you know how you'd have to spoof your location and and stuff like that. Um probably because everyone realizes just how easy it is to obtain the legal accounts themselves. So even with that as an option, that's true. I'm not sure I'll be able to hang around for the long term. There will always be the lowhanging fruit to pick off like using the Bet Stamp Pro prop screen and money is money, but even that stuff will dry up soon enough. Uh shout out to the Bet Stamp Pro prop screen. Uh had a hand in building that. That's a a company that I've invested in before and uh it's a high-end prop screen with a high price point. It's not for everyone, but if you do want to check it out, link in the description below. Uh shameless uh self-promotion there. As my betting abilities deteriorate like an aging, mediocre at best at my peak baseball player, I still want to I still want to find a way to cling to the sports betting space. I think that being a part-timer and having a full-time career that I love helps keep it a reality. I'm glad I got in when I did before all the riff raff and slop of the spaces era.
Very regrettable times. I believe the timing of my entry helped me learn the right way to do things. Sadly, I'm not sure my knowledge and previous experience will let me continue to earn like I used to. As a wise man once said, "The world went and got itself in a big damn hurry, so I'll enjoy it while I can." All right, I've [ __ ] on myself enough. Time to get to the rest of you jabronies. I love anytime somebody uses the word jabron.
Attitude era wrestling numero uno.
Before I dive in, I need to give a caveat. I will not be mentioning any of that spaces era slot below. Good call.
In my mind, they are not and never will be part of gambling Twitter. Disagree.
There was a brief era of it, but actually they're still going on in some capacity, but I tend to agree that it mean more of the like embarrassing part of uh it be the embarrassment era. They don't do things the right way. They can't keep a thought in their head for more than four seconds, which makes sparring with them boring. zero creativity in any of them. And don't get me started on their inability to take a joke. We don't need to acknowledge that part of the world unless we treat it as if we're visiting the zoo. We can stop by and point at the weird little animals, maybe get a couple of laughs at their expense, but then we're on our way. Uh, all right. Yeah, that that part really hit home for me. Um, in terms of like part- timerrs with real networks, untapped legal accounts, um, that that that in and of itself is more runway than Ferris is giving himself credit for here. I get the psychology of it.
Watching, you know, some prediction markets guys make crazy money while you're grinding AAA baseball is probably going to feel that way. That's just natural. I've felt that way before with stuff that I've bet. Um, now with prediction markets, you see the leaderboards, you're like, "Holy [ __ ] some people are moving like insane amount of volume on these, but I would say that Ferris still has value in this space whether or not he sees it. I mean, just having access to accounts is is valuable."
All right. Um, looks like we're going to get into the I was going to call it the chopping block, which is a staple of SE.
Yeah, let's call it the chopping block because I think what's going to happen here is he's just going to give out awards to people from uh gambling Twitter. Uh 2026 superlatives. Let's bring this back up on screen. Most likely to have jokes go over his head.
China. I love China. The person, the food, the country, the country. There we go. Actually, I'm not sure about the country. I never been, but I'd like to see that wall. I only said the country because I was wondering if he'd actually ever been to China. China's an awesome dude who has mostly a non-nonsense approach when it comes to betting. Then you start going through the Twitter feed and it's a crisis of character. He wants to troll but doesn't quite know how to troll properly but thinks he's crushing it and it all comes across uh all comes off as this weird jumbled mess. He's keeping up with stickicks that go on for so long it's hard to confuse them for trolling. Then he gets back into these back and forth interactions with people until they try to insult him. At which point he retweets them in what I think he believes is a gotcha moment. Every time I see him retweet something insulting him, uh, we got the meme.
That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. Mostly it just ends up coming off like a big-time boomer who doesn't quite get how social media works. Like when Spanky would read questions from porn butts in his old Q&A. I remember that. You just got to let them figure it out on their own. All right. Uh, this hits for me. I'm a big fan of China. Would consider him a friend. We message pretty regularly.
This is funny. It's very accurate. Uh, the China doesn't know how to troll thing is a very specific vibe. It's like he's trying to be a [ __ ] talker, but he's working with the wrong tool to tools. All the wrong tools. I was literally making this this a version of this point on Circle Back on Monday. So, this one is top of mind for me. And I love the Spanky pornbot comparison. I don't know how many people would really um really have known of that one. Um but that was quite funny. Spanky doing a be better. Used to do these Q&As's and he would read literally every question uh including ones that came from from bots.
Um all right, let's keep it going here.
Most likely to physically jerk each other off at the next bet bash. Flop Isaac Rose Burman Mr. peanut better. Uh I I mean I already two for two with circles off crew circle formation dominant arm extended elbow a little bent to get a full range of motion. Um it looks like we got some examples here of all these guys replying to each other. Um yeah they I I I've seen some of these before.
Um Isaac Rose Berman lol's flop. No flop. You're a losing better flop. laugh laughing my [ __ ] ass off. No, Mr. Peanut Butter Better is a losing better.
All right, I see where this is going.
Get it, guys. They're all winning betters, but they joke at each other's expense about being a losing better.
It's just guy stuff busting each other's balls all the time. I got to say, maybe not to the same extent, but uh I do this a lot as well. Uh I I I I would rather make fun of myself for losses than uh praise myself for wins. It's really weird. I can't explain it, but um I kind of think these three are the exact same.
Uh Flop has been with this channel for a long time. Currently trading at Novig.
Isaac um has been, you know, doing a lot of stuff on the channel recently. Mr. Peanut Better has been in this orbit forever as well. The bid is very real.
These guys do genuinely rag on each other for being losing betters, knowing full well all three of them are crushing. every single one of them um leans into this a lot. I don't know the psychology of it. He Ferris nailed the dynamic, but uh yeah, I don't know.
It's just kind of weird. And uh I don't know why I take part in that either.
Most likely to work for or own part of question mark. A company that actually exists but no one knows exists. Andy not safe for work. Andy Moler. The [ __ ] is Betserts? I think it's been around for a while now. maybe even pre-COVID. And I couldn't tell you one thing they do. Is it a betting media platform like the Action Network? Do they sell pick packages? Every once in a while, Andy tweets a link mentioning them and it throws me off every time. Like, hey, yeah, that's still a thing. Good for Andy. Um, this is funny for me personally because I met I want to say his name was Reed from Beterts many years ago. I'm horrible with names, could be wrong.
When we launched Bet Stamp, Betspurts was like the main competitor in market so to speak. This was like before Picket and Juice Reel and all that. And now I genuinely have no idea what Peterts is doing. They they keep raising money.
I've seen some some capital raises in the last few years. I don't think they have an app anymore. I think they gave up on that.
I I don't know. I honestly don't know other than that they're still involved in the space. I think maybe they just own other companies now. Like BSPerts might be the parent company for some smaller stuff. Like is 4 for4 part of Betsertz? I legitimately have no idea. I should know, but I don't know. I should know, but I don't know.
Most likely to care way too much about what people think, even though they've proven themselves to be one of the most impressive and influential people in sports betting. Pizzola, appreciate the kind words. Uh, I am interested in where this goes. As the kids say, obviously I I mean, I'm interested in where it goes.
It's about me. As the kids say, let me get the glazing out of the way first.
Rob is my favorite person in sports betting. His style, his demeanor, his thought process mirrors what I would hope for myself had I accomplished what he did slash is doing in sports betting.
Him and Jonnie from Bet Stamp asking me to do an episode of circles off years back. Fun fact, Doc Better got both parties hooked up. How about that name?
He was always so nice. Heard things didn't go great.
Is one of the biggest highlights of my sad soon to be finished betting career.
Backstory there. Doc Better was uh previously someone that I worked with pretty closely. Uh never met him, chatted every day, but uh that didn't end up didn't end up great. I don't really want to get into more of that, but um you know, sometimes you think you really really know people in the betting space. It's kind of a lesson for everyone of just you can't fully ever trust anyone. Him and Mike Craig are the two people I will glaze for eternity regardless of what they do in the upcoming years because of my experiences with them. Mike Craig probably my favorite person in gambling Twitter. Uh definitely on the Mount Rushmore in terms of like honest, nice guys, always in a good mood, great mood, great experiences with him. So, uh, I echo that as well. With that said, all right, here's the bad part. I find it mind-boggling that the pizza man continues to care so much about Twitter algorithms, viewership numbers, and playing by rules other than his own.
Actually, let me rephrase. I completely understand why he cares so much about those things. He is still in the process of building a sports betting media company and has to worry about feeding the kids. We'll get to them later. I assume he's talking uh like Jason, Jacob, Mike, my team. I guess what I'll twist this into is this. I don't understand how the best NHL better of all time, not true. I'm stating this as fact. No [ __ ] clue if it's remotely true. Not true. Has put himself in a position to care about making threads on Twitter because they do better numbers than a regular post. and he's referencing a thread that I posted uh pretty recently as well about betting splits. And I know these measurements don't force him to tweet things he doesn't believe in, but when we see what's said in that tweet, it does make the content feel slightly performative. The real the really valuable message, how stupid betting splits are, gets watered down because it feels like there should be a link at the end of that thread directing you to a 7-day free trial of a sports betting product. I don't know. It seems like someone who has Rob's amount of success should never be concerned with half of the things he worries about when it comes to public perception.
All right. Um, where do I even start? Okay. F first off, best NHL better of all time. We'll pump the brakes on that. Had a very good run. Worked with great people who are moving an insane amount of money. I'm not that. Um, not even close, I would say. That said, made a lot of money betting the sport, continue to make money betting the sport. So, I'm happy about that. The bigger thing he's saying, the algorithm stuff, the thread stuff, caring about metrics.
Reading this in these terms actually does make me reflect on how I got here.
It's a fair question to sit with.
And I I get it. He's He's pointing to something that's very real. Like I don't I guess I don't see it this way in my head, but if I if I take a step back and reflect on it, it might seem weird from the outside looking in. It's someone who's been very successful in betting worrying about this stuff. But here's where I land on it. I'm here now.
Whatever decisions have got me to this point, I'm running a media company. If you're going to play, you got to play, right?
That's just the state of things in 2026.
The game is distribution. The game is the algorithm. If you want your message to actually reach the people who need to hear it, you have to package it for the platform. That's not a Rob Pizzola thing. That's just what this is. It's not optional, right? The alternative is I put out a tweet about betting splits and rather than getting an audience of, you know, 88,000 views with 76 bookmarks, I get a tenth of that, right?
And and where I'll push back on on this part of the blog is the the message gets watered down part. I don't agree with that at all. May maybe I'm out to lunch, right? And and let's like look at the tweet that he's he's screenshotting here, which was uh this one in particular.
The content of that thread is my own content. Like it's it's it's a a quote unquote sharp message. I genuinely believe public bet splits are one of the most misleading stories being told to recreational bers right now.
Right. And the fact that other outlets have built entire products around selling bet splits back to the public is a problem. I don't think that message gets watered down because it's in thread form. It gets seen by more people. More betterers hear it. The delivery mechanism, in my opinion, doesn't dilute the substance.
That's just where I'm at on that. Feel free to disagree. I'd actually like to know down in the comments below. But you know the cares too much about metrics framing.
Fair enough. But I I mean that's just the way my brain functions.
I I I can't help myself when it comes to that. It it's literally it's just the way that my brain works. It's very analytical. So that's my only push back on that entire part is that you got you got to play the game. Unfortunat would I would I like to go back to Twitter in 2014 where I could just type whatever the hell came into my mind and post it and there was no negative effect of doing that. Absolutely. Those were my favorite times to tweet. Live tweeting Dallas Cowboys games literally love that. But if I do that now I get no engagement. It kills me in the al algorithm. It's harder for me to reach other people. So, unfortunately, I have to do think I do have to think about that self that that part of the game.
All right, let's move on. Most likely to have the most overrated episode of circles off. Digs. All right, go back and listen. Go ahead. This blog isn't going anywhere. Sorry, Brandon and Blake. You [ __ ] losers. I'm not going to exit out to this. I'm I'm actually not sure what this is about. People put this pot on their Mount Rushmore, and I'm so confused. Don't get me wrong, it's good to hear someone who's considered a massively successful sports better speak on any platform, but he didn't say anything groundbreaking.
Didn't give away some awesome edge. He had a run-of-the-mill podcast episode, sprinkled in a coughing fit, and got exposed as a mostly fake Taylor Swift dieard. Yeah, I'm going there. Dig's not going to be happy about that one. He will not. Listen, true Taylor Swift fans are deranged. I would know. I live with one. Her and her friends speak about the concerts they've attended as if the performance transcended space and time.
An outof- body experience which can't be properly put into words. They speak about their life almost in terms of before Taylor BT and after Taylor after it's like the world's worst most useless cult.
No c I don't want to offend people. No c music's very subjective. I feel a lot of the way that that Ferris does about this, but I don't want to I don't want to, you know, [ __ ] on anyone's parade, but when given the chance to speak about your fandom, it came off more as you felt embarrassed and proud. I didn't get that.
I didn't get that personally in that interview. Some half-ass story about going to a concert by yourself. What?
And asking a girl she was 18. Actually, kind of a funny joke if you listen back.
Doesn't cut it. It was a funny joke. I'm sorry, but the lore of your fandom is gone. and Digs, before you start responding to my post with one word, idiot responses, please consider that Circles Off Production accidentally doxed you in the YouTube video. I reached out and told them to take it down before anyone noticed. I'll let you be the judge as to how much of a hero I am. That is true. On the doxing, um, had Jacob edit. I think we might have done that video on Zoom and it showed Diggs's email. I don't remember the exact story. That's true. Um, all right. As an interviewer, it's genuinely hard to know in real time whether an episode is great or bad. I know at the extremes, right? So if something is incredible, if I do an interview like I thought the first interview I ever did with Matthew Trenal when that was done I'm like this this is going to blow up. This is really good.
If something is very bad I know Sharky Waters Nation. Unfortunately at that time Johnny wanted to try something different. I'm I'm throwing him completely under the bus for this. I went along with it. I thought it sucked.
And I know in the moment if it's going to be really good or really bad.
Everything else in the middle is kind of a guess.
It's kind of a guess because sometimes I really enjoy the interview, but then you know the it just doesn't pick up. You know, not a lot of people watch or listen. Average watch time, average listen time is bad. Sometimes it's the opposite of that. with Digs specifically.
I knew going into that episode that it would be wellreceived no matter what because of the allure.
People don't get to hear from guys like Diggs very often. He's kind of like a guy that was shrouded in mystery online.
So whether it was our absolute best content or not, I think the access to Digs was always going to carry that episode. So Ferris might be right in that it wasn't the best pure content that we've ever put out, but the fact that he showed up and talked, I think that's what puts it on people's Mount Rushmore, like not any one specific nugget.
The Taylor Swift stuff, I I'll just let that one live. Don't really want to get to that one.
Most likely to have their Twitter. This really is, by the way, like a a blog about the our network basically for the most part so far. Most likely to have their Twitter account suspended because they went off the deep end regarding a political issue. Kirk Evans.
You know what gets a bad rap? The for you tab on Twitter. People [ __ ] and moan about how it's a cesspool filled with the most vile [ __ ] imaginable. And you know what? They're mostly right.
You know what the simple solution is?
Don't slide over to the for you tab. Ah, sometimes I don't realize I'm on it when I open the app. Well, you're a dumb [ __ ] aren't you? You know what, Ferris? I guess I'm a dumb [ __ ] then because uh the the app resets itself, man. You go to following, you open it up next time, you would just think that it would stay on following, but it it goes back to for you. So much so that I just never go back to following now. I'm like stuck on the for you tab as it exists right now. The for you tab is where you go to spice things up. Find some crazies out there that are even more batshit crazy than the normal crazies you follow. It's where I stumble on most of Kirk's political takes. Not once in the history of the world has someone changed their mind on a political issue because of what another user said. Maybe decades ago, but certainly not nowadays. Kirk is going to buck that trend and change the minds of both red and blue voters with his views on political matters. It is. Is it weird that a Canadian citizen frequently attempts to insert himself into American politics? Yes. Is it weird he has such a passion for our our policies but has zero vote in how our country is run?
Also, yes. Do I need to see Kirk and Spread aed in a room firing political takes at one another? Absolutely. The only downside of going down the Kirk political takehole is the algorithm. Rob automatically thinks you want more of that. It's true. You can't read this stuff. I mean, I followed a few of his longer threads just to see how nuts it would get a couple of times, and now Twitter thinks I need more of that. One click shouldn't define a person's entire social media experience. All right, Kirk is a good friend of mine. This is a great bit. All right, it is. As a Canadian myself with a with opinions on American stuff, I don't tweet them.
I don't think it's a great idea to tweet them. I'd rather just keep that to myself and not put it out there publicly. Why Kirk does this, I don't know. Someone would have to ask him.
He's obviously very passionate about the the political landscape, but uh that that that section hits for me. Like if if you if you said Rob, you can get rid of like a subsection of tweets on the internet. There's very obvious ones that I would like tweet threads of of, you know, here's how you're going to turn $50 into $1,000 for whatever sporting events going on right now. I'd get rid of those. Kirk's political tweets, they would be up there as well because I'm I'm close to Kirk, so they're just naturally going to find their way into my algorithm. And if they don't, people are going to send them to me on Telegram or WhatsApp or whatever.
It's kind of annoying. Kirk, no more political tweets, please. Most likely to tweet about a women's sporting event because they have to prove everyone prove to everyone they like women's sports more than men's sports. Alex Bartlett barely edges Kirk. It will be a random night in February and you come across a tweet like Matilda Hornsbury just doesn't contribute enough to this offense. They've got to cut down her minutes. This information cannot mean anything to more than like four people on the planet at that exact moment.
Matilda's own parents are probably out to a nice dinner and we'll catch a replay of the game later because it's WCBB.
Women's college basketball. Listen, we all get it. You guys are women's sports enthusiasts. You're different because you don't tweet about NFL or NBA games like 99.99% of the world. But can we all agree on something? It's weird. It is just these It just is. These hipster fans can spin it however they like, but it's flatout weird to enjoy andor watch women's sports more than men's sports as a male.
I'm not going down this path. Spicy take from Ferris. I will let the women's sports enthusias enthusiasts come at him on their own. I'm not touching this one.
Personally, I prefer men's sports. It's not a it's not a a a gender thing or what. I just I think the quality of the games are better. I find them more entertaining.
But I've also been betting on men's sports for a really long time. And maybe if I had the same opportunities to bet on women's sports, it would change things for me. I don't know.
But I I'm just I'm just gonna leave that one as is. Most likely to use the retweet button too often when it used to stand for something. Shipper. Shipper was just uh interviewed recently in the last couple weeks here for the second time on circles off. Be honest. You've gotten loose with the retweet. Shipper.
It has to follow a cadence. It has to come naturally reserved for tweets you come across in the wild. You cannot get into arguments with people and when you don't agree with what they've said, you hit the retweet. It feels cheap and you know it. People got to earn the the retweet. All right.
I asked Shipper about retweeting stuff because I went to his timeline and I noticed how much he's retweeting stuff, but I legitimately had no idea beforehand. And that's exactly the problem with only being on the following tab. Ferris, you're missing the for you stuff and you're just seeing like that.
That's the problem with following.
You're going to get every single one of those retweets. I'm only going to get the ones that blow up from Shipper.
I prefer I prefer my method for that.
Most likely to be discussing a topic that needs a break for just a few damn months out of the year. Kenish Powers.
Screenshot here. Brad Powers reposting uh hit the books first live show of the off seasonason. It's March 19th. March Madness is in full swing. What do the people need? A little week zero betting preview. Hell yeah. College football is back six months before the season kicks off, baby. All right.
I mean, Ferris, I don't know if you're if you're like the agent for Kenishian Powers, like you're representing them and you want the the labor brought down.
Look, these shows, they do views on YouTube. They do plenty of podcast downloads. I know for most of us it seems insane at this time of the year, but there is real demand. People are watching and listening. I don't get it.
I'm also not a huge college football better, but even beyond the raw numbers, it back to the algorithm talk, it matters to keep producing shows consistently for the YouTube algorithm.
You go dark for four months between seasons and you lose a lot of traction that you don't get back. So, no, I don't agree with this one. Obviously, I'm the CEO of a a content company, but I think the shows have been good and I think uh Kenish and Powers should keep cooking with the shows in the offseason as much as they want to do them. As much as they want to do them, because there is at least somewhat demand. Um, most likely to fill the breaking news gap with the departure of Rousini. Joey Tunes, the Tunes Telegram always makes me laugh, man. What's this screenshot?
Muhammad Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the current season. This is a week old, Joey. Well, not breaking, but I missed it. Yeah, I don't I don't know because I I'm in the Joey Tunes Telegram.
I would say like 50% of the messages are just copy and pasted from from Sheffer tweets. So, it's like if you have notifications on for Shefer and for this Telegram, you're getting a lot of overlap. Um, if I can't I can't describe it unless you've been in that in that Telegram channel. I don't know. Um, I don't know how how to describe it. It's funny. Most likely to create content that pokes fun at others betting advice or pointing out scammers. I see my image here, so I don't like where this is going. When their own programming has no problem platforming people who have no business discussing sports betting because it could lead to more viewers.
the Hammer Betting Network from the people who love to bring you this screenshot of does this work?
Scammer exposed, but have no problem giving their viewers this Hammer Daily.
Uh I guess the issue here, he's joined by Matt Zilbert.
That's got to be the the main issue with that one. Or this uh just a picture of Jeff Nadu. It's hard to be the moral arbiter when you say one thing and do another all in the name of views. Okay, let me process that one for one second here.
So, I'm going to push back on this.
Obviously, I think Ferris is pointing at what he thinks is hypocrisy.
I get why he frames it that way, but he's missing what I actually care about.
Take Zilbert. Okay, that was my idea to bring him on. So, Hammer Daily has their own production schedule. There's a process for how things go, but we often make recommendations. I recommended getting Matt Zilbert on for a Wednesday because I thought that it might drive some viewership. It wasn't going to be like a regular thing, but the goal going in was let's let him give a pick, but let's also dig in on his record and like challenge him on the recordkeeping and, you know, how he wants to be like, you know, this this this guy in the betting space that's transparent. That was supposed to be the point. It it missed. It didn't f fully happen. I have to live with that.
That's a very fair criticism. I'm not going to defend the execution there. The goal and the execution are different.
Now, some people might say, well, don't even have him on in the first place.
Don't give the guy a platform. That's fine as well. And I I can understand that criticism. I can do I agree? Not necessarily. But at least at the very least, I get it. Noo being on circle back.
I'll be straight up. I hate like kumbaya shows where everyone at the table agrees with each other and they all share the exact same point of view on everything.
I think that is the worst kind of content. At the beginning of Circle Back when we first launched and we had myself, Kirk Evans, Jeff Fineberg, the criticism I got from the Sharp community was, "Why would you put Jeff Fineberg on this show?
He doesn't know the ins and outs of sharp sports betting. But that was never the goal. The goal was to have a different voice. The best shows have differing viewpoints, including viewpoints that I disagree with, including viewpoints that the audience disagrees with.
That's what makes a show worth watching in my opinion. If we only ever platform people who share the exact same philosophies on sports betting, the same ones that I do, we we'd have one show and it would be boring and it took a long time. But people actually really came around on Jeff Fineberg as part of that. Would they have ever come around on NU? I don't know. But he had a different perspective on a lot of things because we don't get that in the sharp space a lot. And if you look at some of the creators I have now that are sharps who I ask to do shows regularly, a lot of them have diff different takes from other sharps. A guy like Porter for example, right? That's that's kind of the goal here.
Where I draw the line in content, and this has always been the line for me, is misrepresentation, right?
If someone goes on a show and pretends to be something they're not, I don't love that.
If the rest of the cast and crew can call them out on it, I do like that.
Hold them accountable, right? When people lie about their ROI, their results, what they do for a living, that's the stuff I don't want to do. I I think we do a pretty good job avoiding that across the network. Is is my bar the same as Ferris's bar? No. Do we have multiple shows with different hosts who come from different backgrounds?
might be involved in things that could be viewed as potentially sketchy.
Yes, intentionally you can disagree with some of those calls. I've disagreed with some of those calls. I look back on sometimes and be like, "Yeah, you know what? We shouldn't have done that." But the broader like you're being a hypocrite point or the framing here personally, it doesn't land for me.
And you know, obviously there's a there's a bias from my point of view, but but that's just where I stand on that entire situation. Quick pause. If you're enjoying this so far, smash the like button down below. Hit subscribe. We've got a looks like a lot more of this to get through. And there's a lot more. Um yeah, let's just let's let's just get let's just get right back to it.
most likely to not write anymore, even though I think they should write a lot more. Pads and Kanji both have written short blogs in the past regarding their betting careers and things that they're focused on. I found the writing to be captivating and would like to see it more often. I don't read a lot. I can't really comment on that. The only time I'm really going to read something is if I'm trying to seek out like some sort of skill set. So, nothing there. Most likely to rub up too closely on a female at Bet Bash, causing her to make a scene while he retorts. It was all a big misunderstanding. GRP when it was not a big misunderstanding at all. In fact, it was probably a very small misunderstanding. But don't worry about GRP. I see what you did there.
Ferris Benson will pretend to scold them, but in reality, protect them at all costs. Surely this won't backfire with all of GRP's views of the world and women. Oo, interesting talk topic.
Um, I'm I'm just going to move on from this one. No additional comment.
There's I I could talk about this one for half an hour. It's either going to be zero seconds or half an hour. So, we're moving on. Most likely to still have their job because they got in early. Takes by Jay.
Okay. About a month ago, over my spring break, I made the wise decision to get a vasectomy. Did it during March Madness like the doctors advise you to. So, I'm at home in the middle of the day.
Figured I'd tune in to Circle Back Live.
I don't typically listen to the show.
Ferris has told me that before, but I'm sitting there icing my balls. What do I have better to do? The topic of I'm sorry. I'm sitting there icing my balls.
Just caught me. The topic of conversation is the ridiculous sports betting piece from the pantry guy posted in the Atlantic. Absurdly bad piece.
Each host is making solid points, keeping the conversation going. It gets over to Takes by Jay. Um, I didn't actually read the story.
True. I might be misrepresenting this look, but Rob's facial expression was somewhere in the vicinity of why the [ __ ] are you sitting here, Jay? Then made some joke about how it would have taken him hours to read the article. And that's when I decided it would be more beneficial to log off and focus on my balls. All right. first. Happy that you got your vasectomy, Varys.
That's the real story here.
Okay.
Um I don't know my exact facial expression in that moment.
>> I Yeah, I didn't read the whole thing.
I'm not going to sit and pretend like I did. Uh if it took you 30 minutes, it would take me like a couple hours. So, um no. Uh yeah, I just I wouldn't We knew it was going to happen. And they might have one of those uh like they'll read it to you buttons.
>> Okay, maybe I'll do that.
>> Just copy and paste the whole thing at the chat sheet and say summarize.
>> That's that's what I was that's what I should do. But I was going to say one more thing here. Uh with was it predetermined that it would end at the end of the Super Bowl or No, >> I I I I don't know what I don't know what the I have no idea what's >> That's right. Because you're right though. If there was a set date for it to end makes a really good story. If he wins on the Super Bowl, he kind of that's part of the story. If he loses, maybe even better for the article purposes, >> but it it wasn't why the [ __ ] are you sitting here.
I remember that happening. It was awe.
Like genuine awe because Jason is takes by Jay is something else. I cannot believe Jason is a real person sometimes. And that's actually what I like the most about him.
Genuinely, he's electric. He's the office glue guy. He will agitate you over and over, but he's the one who builds up everyone else's morale.
Now, to Ferris's actual point, should Jason have read the article? Yeah, probably. But there's also context missing. Jaylen Jason was filling in on the show that day. It was very late. Uh it was a tight timeline for him to have to fill in. He was recording right before he went live. Here's the bigger thing for me, and goes back to my previous point. He admitted he didn't read it. Instead of faking his way through it, instead of being some lackey who pretends to have an opinion that he doesn't actually have, he stated it honestly. I respect that a lot more than the alternative. That's what I like about Jason.
He just calls it like it is.
Sometimes he can go too far with some of the stuff. I get it. But I I I get it.
Ferris isn't vibing with the Jason experience. It won't be the first person. And it won't be the last. That's fine. Not everyone will. But the Jason haters are missing something for sure because he is like truly authentic. And if you hang around the guy long enough, you really do learn to like him. Mondays in the office following a Sunday full slate of football. When he comes in, must see, you know. It's why we gave him the hammer daily. He's got great personality. I'd like him to show. I'd like that to shine through for sure. All right. Most likely to have gotten a cool sounding job, but not quite sure what they do. Isaac Rose Berman with the Come on, do something. Uh, proddding. Yeah.
Uh, I get that. I mean, Isaac is he's a good batter is what it comes down to, but he's got all sorts of initiatives going on on the side. Most likely to be besties, but never actually meet in person over the course of their lives. Abnormally distributed. and cheeseburger. Just two guys that love chopping it up and replying to each other. Live look at straight vibing.
Seeing cheese got to be part of the joke. Uh, and it's a Spongebob um image here. You know what? I I honestly I I guess I should know who Cheeseburger I probably do. I think I've seen the Avatar before. I'm just like so far disconnected from certain things at this point.
And I think a lot of the um inside jokes of maybe some like Twitter DMs are coming out here. I'm just not connected. Most likely to never receive the validation they are so desperately looking for from the sharp sports betting community. RAS right angle sports. Uh dear Warden, you are right.
Salvation lay within from Andy Drain. Um honestly I think the RAS situation is simpler than Ferris is making it. I if that Twitter account never tweeted over the last couple years, the view of that service would be completely different.
That's it in my opinion. You can disagree, but I think if that account didn't battle with other people online for a while and just sat there and did nothing that there would be a very different viewpoint of right angle sports. Results aside, whatever you want to say, I I do think that that really hurt them in the eyes of a lot of the Sharper community.
Most likely to be upset a blog is being written about sports betting. Broner, uh, literally the living embodiment of the meme.
It is so weird to be intricately involved in a space you would kill off if given the chance. I don't know a lot about Broner. Uh I we yeah I I don't I don't know. I I don't know him well enough. Like we've interacted several times at Betbash online. He's DM' me. I just I don't know. That doesn't hit for me because I don't know enough about him.
Most likely you have treated a betting partner like [ __ ] and no one is really talking about the story, but it should actually be talked about because it's kind of sharp gambling gossip people would find entertaining. Rufus, let's get it out there, fellas.
No deleted tweets this time.
I know about this.
I'm I'm going to go no comment. I'm just not going to I I don't want to be the one that puts it out there. At some point, maybe both sides of that story will get presented.
I've gotten messages from both part I'm just leaving it at that. I don't want any accusations. I think it's just a weird situation uh all around. Most likely to not be able to handle a Twitter beef. Mr. Peanut better. Uh looks like we I've seen all of these before. This is the moneybag yo one.
Yeah. Get to the window. Brad Powers. I remember that one clearly. Um, you know what? With the Michael Scott image, uh, Love Peanut Better doesn't like to be argued with. At least he will engage.
He will engage the I was arguing with him actually yesterday. We ended up making a $30,000 bet based off of our argument. I have the NFL to have a team in London before they have a team in Toronto, but certainly doesn't like to be argued with. What do you think of that bet? I think I got it in really good. Even money. Even money there. Most likely to not be able to live up to his reputation, but also probably will live up to it because he's super intelligent, but an actuarial nerd. Sports projections. Sometimes I wish I put my takes out there more often. I had SP as someone who was about to dominate betting after listening to him for like 30 minutes. Then Shipper comes along with his fancy ranking tears and steals my non-existent thunder. Uh I remember this sh this tier list that Shipper put out on Twitter. I'm mostly solid. I'll take that. That last tier makes me giggle every Okay, before we get to this for a second, SP sports projections big fan and completely agree.
I don't think that this was unique to Ferris and Chipper.
You hear him talk and you you want to listen. He's really good.
That last tier makes me giggle every single time. The only person I have walked away from mid-con conversation, it's Pisky. Um Pisky is such a good guy, man. Like he just he just is.
I I like I feel bad. I I know some people really despise Pisky. I I don't understand where that comes from. Again, I know him, so it's tough, but like he's genuinely like such a nice guy. So, for the record, I'm not on that wagon.
Absolutely not. Also, Shipper gives the nickname Missionary Matt Landis. It's Chris Burmanesque. Uh I don't think that's very nice. Matt Land is a great guy.
I know Far Ferris is calling it Burmanesque.
Uh, I don't know, just a little too personal for my taste.
And again, I know I've gotten personal before. I've thrown st I get I'm sure I've thrown stones at people who would say they're they're a really nice guy. I get it. Just just coming from my perspective. Um, it's crystal clear sports projections knows his [ __ ] He also understands how to navigate topics he isn't knowledgeable enough to speak about with his usual authority, which is such a key skill to possess. Could not agree more. He's not super active on the Twitter, but he would be my pick for 2026 breakout if you stretch out those sums a little more often. Let's get the man to bet bash for the shroud mysterious can be completely crushed and we all find out he's just a regular loser like the rest of us. Love that.
Uh, one thing I wanted noted, the actuary nerds are getting a little too confident. This is true. We need to take them down a peg before they form an awkward wheezing mathematically efficient army. Quick story. Between my junior and senior year of college, I landed an internship down in Louisville with Humana on Humanana. I think that's how that's pronounced. On the first day of our internship, we were taken through all the usual [ __ ] We talked about corporate policies, their mission, what the company hoped to accomplish, yada yada yada. Great Seinfeld reference. Our intern class was fairly big, about 30 of us regulars with an additional eight actuarial interns in the same room. The actuarial interns were different. so different that when the two groups split apart the next day, the lady in charge of us regulars got in front of the room to state, "To be clear, you will not be working with the actuarial interns.
Their program is completely different from our program. You will probably not see them this summer." Good story.
Again, this this is what I like about Ferris's writing. Just kind of find a way to add Flare. Most likely to take it way too seriously if his name is mentioned in this blog. Porter.
Uh well, we'll see. Let's see if he takes it too seriously. This is funny.
Objectively, it's funny. I've known Porter now for a while. Like the guy quite a bit, but um th this hits for sure. Most likely to change their Twitter handle after years of questionable behavior. And we're all going to act like it's completely normal. Playmaker Dave Fetus Dave. So, we're doing this, huh? We're all going along with it. All righty then. I believe the playmaker Dave account ended up getting banned and he had to come back with fade us Dave. I talk to Dave almost every day, but he's such a weird guy in my opinion. I've never seen anyone love to troll as much as he does.
Like he loves to troll. He will send me a Telegram message almost every day with the pure intent of trying to trigger me or on Twitter. He'll reply. And on top of that, he's a very successful businessman. Somehow both of this those things are true at the same time. I don't get it.
Most likely to have their risktakers pod pulled down in the next couple of months. CSP trading. Holy [ __ ] This guy sucks. How did he pull it together for a 2hour pod? Um yeah, I'm not going to read those tweets online here.
Uh, I didn't know much, if anything, about this guy before the pod, so I give him a follow afterwards, and the tweets above are par for the course. He's a complete psychopath and not in a fun way. I wonder if they'll sneakily pull the episode down or announce that they're pulling it down. I really don't know what's going on with that account.
I've seen some questionable stuff, honestly. Uh, we had it flagged, some stuff flagged for circle back at one point, and we just we just avoided it.
So, uh, I get Ferris's read here. I'm in the exact same boat. Most likely to take it way too seriously if his name isn't mentioned in this blog. Porter.
Uh, is that I don't know if that's intentional or a typo or he wanted to make the second point again. I don't know. Most likely to hate my guts and I hate his guts. Storm. I urge everyone to have a forever beef in their life. Um, I know the story here. Not going to discuss it.
I think having a nemesis is healthy though. I think Ferris is right about that. I know he might be even saying it sarcastically. I don't actually.
Anyways, can go on to this forever. Um, I used to have some beef with Storm back in the day. We were close friends, had some issues. We now have amended those and uh I talk to Storm pretty regularly and and we have him on Circle Back every now and then. Um, that's that's a story. These stories, maybe one day I'll talk about them public, but they have to get public. I'm not going to be the one that's going to just put them out in the public space.
Most likely to have been on my Twitter feed way too often before he became a big dick over at Novig. Flopup, I guess we got to thank Henry and crew over at Novig for taking him in. There was a time where Flop was recording his own pod. I think hosting circles off. Not true. hosting especially.
I mean, I love Flop, but uh we're not we're not gonna have him host shows.
Appearing on Circle Back that he did, and replying to every sports betting tweet. Oh, and I think he was in the spaces every night of the week.
Absolutely was. But I can't state that as a fact as I was never a cringe-worthy listener, loser, excuse me, thinking those were the future of gambling Twitter. That's a shot taken potentially at me and many others. And uh I just got to accept the loss. Thank you, Henry, and the whole Novig crew. This praise will be shortlived. Flop now seems busy enough to only be able to write an occasional blog.
Um, Flop is the best, man.
I love dunking him on him back when he tweeted a lot more. He's one of the smartest guys in the space like and honestly really down to earth too.
So, this praise will be shortlived.
interested uh to see where that goes as I'm roughly like four-fifths down the page now. Most likely to have unfollowed me around the time OSU beat the brakes off of M and I unfollowed back way harder than he unfollowed me. Kesh. Hey Joey, be a real man. When your team loses in embarrassing fashion, then guards the middle of the field harder than they guarded anything else that day. Just don't log into Twitter for like three weeks. Uh, yeah.
I don't have anything to say to that.
Most likely to have changed your opinion on them, Jacob and Good J. Good Jeff.
Good gaff.
Spelled weirdly. I don't I don't know why. This might be the take readers disagree with most, but I feel like these two have earned some praise. I don't know if his opinions are ever actually great, but I respect any man willing to enter the arena. And that's what Jeff is willing to do. He doesn't back down on Twitter, even when he's in the thick of it. On the few clips back will put out, it seems like he doesn't give two shits about who he's making fun of or scared to go at one of the bigger dicks in the space. I would guess he still talks too much, but it's better than being a vanilla nod your head in agreement type guy. Same goes for Jacob.
In a few clips I've seen, he's come into his own and is willing to put out content he works hard on. I do need more confidence from the guy. Confidence, Jacob. Confidence. I'll be honest, Jacob would always get a pass from me because I get the impression he can't stand Zy the clown Zilbert at the same levels I do. I think Jacob might surpass you on that, Ferris. And not in the haha funny little goof way. It's the this guy actually [ __ ] sucks way. I remember them meeting at Bet Bash and uh Jacob wanted none none of that meeting. Um Ferris is right about both of these guys. Jeff is as real as it gets. Talked about this earlier. He articulates some of his takes in the funniest way imaginable and beyond the content. He's a true friend. I'm glad people are seeing it now. I'm glad Ferris saw it and I'm glad people have come around on Jeff and not, you know, diminished him because he's not the level of sharp of some people uh on this network. Jacob, super hard worker, diligent, pays attention to detail, always willing to learn. Those are traits that don't always show up on camera, but they matter. The guy's been leveling up every month. And you know, while we're on this, you if you've been here on this channel for a long time, shout out to producer Zack, who was with us before Jacob. Zach was great. Really big loss when Zach left the company, wanted to pursue a career in hockey media, but Jacob stepped in, filled that gap beautifully.
really proud of where both Jeff and Jacob are at and uh just really good guys, you know, simple as that. Okay. Uh most likely to have killed someone while driving their car, but still went to a World Series viewing party and also still drives said car crossed out.
Uh I don't I don't know. Over my head.
Probably should get it. Uh, some things just fly right over my head. Most likely to start putting out the same division by division NFL previews they've done for the last 12 years. Deep dive podcast, guys. The season starts in like six months and I don't know how the AFC South is shaking out. I've got CFB week zero lines being analyzed in March.
What's your excuse? I don't know. Like again, I I don't know. At the end of the day, people do content when they want to do content. Um, am I consuming the stuff this early? No. But same as condition powers. Ferris, who are you to tell these guys when to put out content? The shows have an audience. They do numbers.
Keep cooking. Simple as that. Most likely to be a grumpy old man who calls the cops on teenagers that look a little too suspicious. Captain Jack. I tried to give the guy a chance. I really did.
He's just an angry old wet fart. I DM'd him and told him he's an [ __ ] after this interaction.
Um, yes, I do. I do remember seeing this interaction on Twitter. Captain Jack says, "Hi, Ferris. You may be new to Twitter." A little condescending, but when someone says shocking with a period, they may be implying a sarcastic response or they were mildly stunned by a live wire. Uh, sadly, I continue my streak of not getting responses. Weird.
And here's the thing, which I also told him along with the whole [ __ ] phrasing. people, a person love to talk about how he's such a nice guy behind the scenes. I would say that my experience how he takes the time to answer every DM and walks novice better through stuff time and time again. I've seen it. And yet, when all you when all you see of a person is them making [ __ ] assumptions and playing the same four hits over and over, you start to really question whether this behind-the-scenes nice guy persona ever actually existed or if it's just his buddy from Unabated pushing that message. Uh, listen, this happens all the time in the betting space. Like, all the time. You have someone that you respect on one side, someone you respect on the other side, and they don't get along. Plain and simple, my betting partner and Spanky are dealing with some [ __ ] right now, you know, and you just don't want to be in the middle and you don't want to have to like it's just a tough spot to navigate in life. I will push back slightly, but again, this is my experience. I did a master class with Jack. I'd call him a friend. He's been nothing but solid with me. I don't know where Ferris's experiences came from.
Mine is genuinely the opposite. That doesn't mean Ferrises is not right. But through my lens, uh, for the most part, with like a few minor exceptions, you know, I've never had any issues with Jack whatsoever. Most likely to be thinking about prediction markets or golf and literally nothing else while reading this blog. Golden pants. On this week's Risk Takers podcast, we're going to switch it up and talk about betting from a prediction market standpoint.
We'll also discuss golf, the masters, and future golf events. Um, you know, I I truthfully did not like Golden Pants at all when he arrived on the scenes. This is just my honest thing. I actually remember talking to Captain Jack or was it somebody else that I messaged? I'm like, "Hey, what do you know about this guy?"
Because Golden Pants came on. He had like this this ping tweet which was like, "I'm here to build a community type of situation. everything, you know, a free community and then like within six months or something he was selling I want to say it was some sort of classes which I again I have no issue with someone selling classes or whatever but it was the premise of like I'm building this free community and then I'm not and I didn't like him for that. I've really come around a lot on him. I really have.
I don't listen to a lot of podcasts but if someone tells me to listen to a risktaker's pod that they really liked I will listen to it. I got a very very brief chance to talk with him at Bash last year. Very brief. But um I'm a big I'm I'm big on golden pants now. It's been a a 180 for me. You can do that.
You know that you're allowed to do that in life. You're allowed to process new information and change your opinion. And I'm uh I've completely come full full circle. Most likely to tweet only when it's at Rufus. Logan. Uh this will be like very inside to a lot of people.
Logan Matthews. We had him on circles off when we were audio only. So it exists on Spotify and Apple podcast but not on YouTube. Seriously, he has to have notification on notifications on for Rufus's tweets, right? I would guess yet the Yes. Excuse me. The man has disappeared. Did Camala kill Logan from the Twitter sphere? But if you want to draw him out, get Rufus to say something. In my experience, this is true. I went into his Twitter feed to prove this point and all his tweets are completely gone except for one which actually couldn't have worked out better. And it's a response from Logan that says, "Good post, Rufus. I've always agreed with your Twitter takes."
Yeah, I don't know the origin story of that beef, but there's something there.
I don't know what it is. Most likely to be the worst public speaker we've ever seen for a person who sold their company for nine figures. Alex Monahan. Man, I've been seeing these videos all over Twitter lately. Monahan dominates the algorithm. He's really, really good at getting viewership and getting his tweets seen. Uh, so a buddy sent me a link to the video above above. I've never taken in his content, but I immediately recognized him as the odds jam guy. I gave it about eight minutes before I physically couldn't handle it anymore. Seeing as how I've never been and will never be in a position to sell my company for nine figures, I don't know how the process works, but I'm assuming you hire people who can pitch the product to the buyer and get them jacked up to spend millions and millions of dollars. Yes or no? Sometimes you might handle the pitches yourself.
Sometimes it might be someone else doing it on your behalf because there is no [ __ ] way the guy from the video above gets in front of a room filled with potential investors buyers and it results in a sale of odds jam for nine figures. If that guy is in front of those people to pitch his product, it sells for 40 bucks and half a ham sandwich. So I don't want to be too mean here. Um I I'm Alex Monahan has always had something that just bothers me a little bit. so to speak. I I see a lot of the same things.
Look, Alex can do whatever he wants in his life. That's his right. I honestly don't understand what he's doing with his life. It's my right to question that. Is his entire identity tied to top down betting? Like the guy cashed in big time selling Odds Jam big time. I believe they hit their earnout on Odds Jam as well. So 160 million. I don't know what he owned of that, but a decent chunk. All right.
On top of that, I mean, I don't I don't know that he has multiple millions in lifetime betting ear earnings. We probably got a million plus. He's still tweeting a hundred times a day. At some point, you got to ask, what is the endgame? I I I don't know. But from my understanding, Odds Jam was a great business. I think you could put a anyone in a room of investors with the business that they had and been able to sell it.
And that shows with the fact that they hit the node as well. That's credit to Alex Monahan for building that. Most likely to have checked out of the sports betting world, Spanky. It's actually an interesting thing of note. Spanky has without a doubt become far less active in sports betting. Rather than fill airtime with awful guests and boring stories, Spanky hung up the podcasting mic, which I think we can all respect.
Leave the game before the game passes you by. However, the man has to continue to sell a bet bash event that I'm sure costs a hell of a lot of money. I could be completely mistaken, but I'm not sure the event is strong enough to stand on its own without as consistent marketing and reminders.
Yeah, I I don't could go either way on that. Actually, without as much marketing effort behind the event, there's less of a chance of the new era trash showing up. So, overall net positive. That would be my biggest issue with the last bet bash. Listen, I know they're they're running a a conference where I mean, the goal is to get as many people out there as possible, but I I did like the days where I could avoid, you know, going to a bar and seeing someone that I am beefing with on the internet who now like wants to squash beefs and have a beer with me. Like, [ __ ] that. I don't I don't want to do that. I miss the spank maning things up.
He's one of the first personalities I gravitated towards when I started this uh taking this stuff seriously. Idea before it gets stolen someday. There should be a roast of spanky at a future bet bash event. I'd be more excited to see all the strays audience members get, but a spanky roast would be the perfect vessel to unload on gambling Twitter in person. Love the idea. We we ditched episode numbers for circles off a long time ago, but for episode 200, I originally wanted it to be a roast of me and Johnny. And uh I mean, we're past that now, but I don't know what number we're at. We we end up scrapping it. I love this the roast idea in general. Uh, but in regards to the business, I think it's accurate. I think Luke, uh, Live Dog Luke and Chinese Mike are running the betting business now. I think Spanky stepped back from the day-to-day. I know Spanky's a big family man. Four kids. I I think he's prioritized spending time with them. Nothing but respect for that.
You hit a point where you actually you want to actually be present for your family. He's clearly in that phase. Uh, good for him would be my my take on that. Uh, most likely to read this and I'm hoping for their approval like a son looking to his unaffeinate father giving him a seldom seen smile. Hagrid. Maybe we can go out back and play catch later, please. Everyone respects Hagrid. I think he's like universally respected.
Well known in sharp circles just as a small Twitter account. Couldn't agree more. That's exactly the profile. Most likely to have highlighted all the NFL teams in which there was a coaching change, QB change, or offensive coordinator change. Jared Smith. Most likely to not win betting on the NFL.
Jared Smith. Uh I I'm gonna combine these two. Here's my actual read on Jared Smith. All right. I we've we've exchanged DMs before. He's been talked about on Circle Back before. I think this guy just wanted to keep to himself for a long time. He was doing his own thing. He wasn't trying to be in the spotlight. And then Fezic attached himself to Jared and put him on everyone's radar. And it's been a rough go for Jared ever since. Honestly, I don't think there's a single comment in this blog about Jared.
If Fezic never attached himself to him.
That's what I think the real story is with Jared Smith if you ask me. That's just my opinion and my perspective on the entire situation. But I think he was just a guy that wanted to bet, wanted to talk sports. Then all of a sudden, one day like Fezic does, you know, attached himself to someone else. That brought him into that sphere and it blew up.
Most likely to stop caring about whether they do things the right way in an effort to grow their brand. Henry and Jacob from Novague.
There we are going back to Novig. Okay.
Over the years, we've seen companies come around and we think to ourselves, "Oh, hey, this is cool. They're doing things differently than anyone else.
maybe they'll carve out a unique path in this industry. Then those same companies hit us with it's a tweet from Jeff Nadu saying he's excited to partner with Novig again. I don't run a super successful company and probably never will, but is this the really is this really the only playbook available in the industry. I know we don't have to reinvent the wheel, but this is it. Has the sports betting world truly run out of any other possible ideas? I'm sure they'll make the argument they're getting exactly what they want from this move. Hell, this part of my blog is proving their point. But seriously, guys, with all that funding you've recently raised, this was the most creative thing you could purchase.
Novig's still awesome, and they'll probably build something that lasts. But if this is the only bullet sports betting companies have in the chamber, maybe getting washed out won't be so bad. Okay, this is really interesting.
There's this this is Okay, this is very clearly another NU adjacent post. I think at this point it's very very abundantly clear that Ferris can't think straight on anything NATO related. He's in the bit at this point and I've been there before. There are just certain people that trigger you so much that you lose the ability to think straight. All right, I'll be honest. We have no idea what the financials of of Naidu joining Novig actually are. We don't know what the specifics are, but could be a good move, could be a bad move.
Bringing in Naidu does not prohibit Novve from spending elsewhere. Could just be one of a variety of other moves like but Naidu is about to do a flagship show on Bar Stool. Will he be able to promote Novig on Bar stool a DK partner?
No. But that's the the conversation like he is about to ascend even more.
He's going to get a lot of eyeballs.
That's just what the space is nowadays.
Now question about where companies should spend nowadays.
This is not specific to NU. In fact, I'll remove him out of this completely.
There's so much torched money in the space nowadays going to people who have a following and drive engagement.
But nobody gives a [ __ ] about what they have to say. Like at the end of the day, if you're an operator, whether that's prediction market, exchange, sports book, the goal is going to be to acquire a player and have them deposit in your site. Some of these people get engagement through, you know, their threads and whatever the hell they want to do, but no one takes them seriously.
They have not built up any loyalty with their audience whatsoever. So, I think a ton of companies, and this is not specific to NOVG, are making big mistakes in the space right now, just going after people who generate engagement. Well, engagement is one thing. Can they actually move the needle to the, you know, to what you're trying to accomplish?
And, uh, I think like some of the spends in the space nowadays are are [ __ ] nuts, absurd. the the people that are getting sponsorships. Most likely to be the most incredibly boring podcast guest imaginable. Beagle Bets. Seemingly, he has a relatively high approval rating from other gambling Twitter members, so there's no point in me going on here.
Yeah, I mean, I'm not I You've heard the pods. You know what I'm talking about.
You can send me the usual DMs, copy and pasting part of the blog, and telling me you agree. Don't want to say anything bad about Adam Beagle Bets. Definitely there are some people that are more interesting than others, but Adam's a nice guy. I enjoyed chatting with him. I loved interviewing him. So, I'm going to move on. Most likely to continue podcasting 35 years after being on a blackjack team, even though there's no demand for it. Jeff Ma, I place this on the soft ass pit bosses of the 90s. If they would have gone just a little too far in a back room, there's a chance we would know what Rufus' voice sounds like on a pot. Just kidding. We're all very aware of what Rufus' voice sounds like.
Um, not not really sure what what to say with this one. Moving again. There's so many awkward spots reading this entire thing where it's like I like the writer of this article, but I also like a lot of the people mentioned. So, I'm not I'm just not going there. Most likely to catch some shrapnel after publishing this blog. Me. Until next time, Ferris at Ferrisb_86.
All right. Um, that's the blog.
Overall, classic Ferris in my opinion.
He swings, he lands some, he misses some. He's always pointing at something that feels real to him, even when I disagree with him, which is why uh he's a friend of the show. I mean, I've been able to converse with Ferris offline for many years. And the one thing I will say, unlike Mr. peanut better is when we disagree on stuff, we're able to kind of find a middle ground sometimes and we at least understand uh one another. But you can't write like this for years without being honest. And Ferris is honest. Um the biggest things that land for me, I can't believe how long this has gone. Um the self-reflection for me and like the section about me, I'll probably take that away and think about it a little bit more. Whether I agree with the specific like watered down critique or not. The bigger question of why does Rob care so much about algorithms is a fair thing to to to say. I guess I am running a media company, but I I'll think about that. The takes by Jpiece actually made me think about Jason in a way I hadn't, even though my read on Jason is the exact opposite of Ferris's. Um, biggest things I disagreed with the hammer betting network like the moral arbiter framing.
I I I think he missed the line that I actually draw. The captain Jack Reed, my experience with Jack is kind of the opposite. Kition powers and the deep dive stuff doing NFL content year round, college football content. I think there's actual demand. There's an algorithmic reason. Anything they do adjacent, um, I just don't think Ferris can actually see clearly on any of those. No different than like if someone I strongly disliked was continuously getting opportunities in the space. I probably would do the same. You get blinded. But that's what I think. But Ferris, come back on circles off, man.
Let's do a full episode going through uh going through your thoughts in person.
I'd like to debate some of these things.
You can say it to my face. Open invitation if you ever want to make that happen again. Before we wrap, I do want to hear from you. Drop a comment down below with with whatever you think.
Which superlatives did Ferris nail the hardest? Which ones did he get completely wrong? I'll read through them all. Could be a fun conversation. If you made it this far, hit the like button.
