In criminal trials, the burden of proof rests on the prosecution, and if the Crown cannot establish a viable case beyond reasonable doubt, the accused must be acquitted regardless of the severity of the alleged crime. This principle ensures that individuals are not wrongfully convicted when the evidence is insufficient to prove their involvement in the alleged offense.

Jamaica Crime Report May 26, 2026 | Shocking Police Involvement Claims EmergeAdded:
Good evening, my real news media TV family. Welcome back to the channel for another news update for Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
And in the news this evening, not a guilty verdict entered in Denim Town robbery and a gun case against the Kingston woman.
A Kingston woman was freed of robbery under the gun charges in the Supreme Court today after the crown conceded that it could not mount a viable prosecution in the matter. The accused 23-year-old Chenise Lynch was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon using a weapon to commit a felony and robbery with aggravation. When the matter came up today, attorney lawin Richardson successfully submitted to the court that it could not be ascertained that Lynch was involved and that the benefit of the doubt should be given to her. The judge agreed with the submission and ordered that the accused be pleaded. A formal verdict of not guilty was subsequently entered. Lynch remained in custody in relation to another criminal matter. Allegations are that about 6 p.m. on September 13, 2025, Lynch made an order for delivery in Denim Town. The complainant was allegedly lured to another location by the accused who traveled on the motorcycle with him. Upon arrival at the location, the complainant was allegedly robbed of his personal belongings by a gunman who used the threatening words against him. The matter was reported and following an investigation, Lynch was arrested and subsequently charged.
Attorney Janice Gordon along with Richardson represented Lynch.

Two men were fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with the police in St. Katherine on Sunday after law men intercepted a vehicle believed to be carrying a person of interest in last year's a gruesome principal murder in Commodore district. Reports are that about 6:05 p.m. police intercepted a Honda Street motor car along the Louisville main road after receiving information about one of the occupants.
The vehicle was reportedly followed to Mountain Peace Road where the driver was signaled to stop. s worried about increase in the number of renal failure patients.
The southern regional health authority says it is seen a woring increase in the number of persons presenting with renal failure across the Manchester Clarindon and St. Elizabeth over the last two months. Nurser manager at the renal unit of the Manville Regional Hospital, Mara Davis Miller, revealed that 143 emergency renal cases were recorded in March, including 45 females and 98 males. The figures increased to 154 cases in April, comprising 62 females and 92 males. Mrs. Davis Miller raised her concerns last week while speaking at a renal unit nutrition seminar at the hospital.
>> Majority of these patients are within the age the age gap of 20 to 40 years old. We need to take better care of ourselves. Majority of these patients and most of them came from Clarindon. So we need to pay better attention to our diet, what you consume, right? And when you when you talk to majority of these patients are going to tell you and forgive me for calling the names of some of these products, but consuming them so often, ever so often and rum, Red Bulls and RS. The issue has prompted a chief executive officer of the hospital, Alwin Miller, to advocate for a policy to govern meals brought to patients at the hospital by relatives. I have seen a gentleman in the emergency room and he has had a bottle of drink right in his arm cuddled like a baby. I won't tell you what kind of drink, but it's a drink he shouldn't be drinking because it's a sugary drink, right? And we know of persons while they are here they'll be drinking a lot of water which they also should not be doing. So I am saying these things as part of my own observation and part of what we will be moving to address as a hospital to curtail and to help those of you may present to get better faster.
Meanwhile, medical residents at the hospital, Christristen Little and Caris Foster said the kidney transplants remain an option that could eliminate the need for diialysis for some patients despite the low public awareness. Dr. Foster also warned the vulnerable groups including construction workers, vendors and the farmers to guard against the dehydration and heat related illnesses amid a rising temperatures associated with the El Nino phenomenon. Dialysis treatment currently cost between $14,200 per session with most patients requiring treatment three times a weekly.
Thank you everyone for watching. See you tomorrow morning at the 6 a.m. for another news update.
