The video attempts to dignify a standard reaction format by framing blockbuster tropes as a profound philosophical debate on governance. It is a classic example of over-intellectualizing pop culture to provide a veneer of depth to parasocial entertainment.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016) MOVIE REACTION – Marvel First Time Watching
Added:We are officially entering phase three.
This feels like it's honestly has kind of crept up. It doesn't feel like we have been here doing these movie reactions that long.
Yet here we are, phase three of the MCU and we're kicking it off with Captain America: Civil War and I'm I'm excited, but I'm nervous, but I'm excited, but I'm nervous.
>> [laughter] >> I've been such a big fan. I think by far the What it comes to the standalone movies, the Captain America ones have been my favorite. And I don't think that's going to surprise anybody to say, but between The First Avenger and then Winter Soldier, I just I've really enjoyed Steve Rogers Cap a lot.
And um and yeah, I'm very interested to see what happens here with Civil War. I see the poster. I try not to do too much reading or looking into these movies, but I don't think that you can really click on this to watch it without seeing the showdown, it seems, between Captain America and Iron Man. So, I'm a little nervous to see what's happening here, but for the most part, I'm uh I'm I'm very excited.
If you guys have not done so already, make sure that you hit the subscribe button and turn on your bell notification so that you can alerted when more movie reactions come up here to the channel. And if you would like those a little bit earlier than everybody else, consider becoming a channel member, scoring that perk, or checking out Patreon where you can get it ad-free, um and also find those full links, but in the meantime, let's jump into the movie. Let's jump into the movie.

>> [laughter] >> You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?
>> Looking over your shoulder needs to become [music] second nature.
>> I'm curious like how much time has passed. It says present day and I guess it's we're supposed to do that own math to see how long we've been working with Wanda.
Cuz she's like so already so just like you guys know I can move things with my mind, right? Comfy with the team.
>> He's not hitting the police.
>> Institute for Infectious Diseases.

>> His name is Redwing.
>> I'm still not thinking it.

>> He's cute. Pet him. Thank you, Redwing.
>> Is this where you drop a building on my face?
>> I mean, you had it coming, man.
>> [laughter] >> Still a loser, Rumlow.
>> I think I look pretty good, all things considered. You got to go.
>> [panting] [sighs] >> And you're coming with me.
>> NO. NO.

>> Who's the homeless person on the couch?
>> Be nice, dear. He's been studying abroad.
>> Really, which broad? What's her name?

>> Oh, little Tony.
>> You know what's about to happen.
Say something.
If you don't, you'll regret it.
>> What is this, like a little simulation or something?
Yeah, there he is.
Did they de-age him for this?
Like they did in Ant-Man?
>> Help me out. What's the MIT mission statement?
To generate, disseminate, and preserve knowledge.
>> And you're You know, preserving knowledge, you're changing it.

>> And what word would you use, Mr. Secretary?
>> That's an important question.
>> Oh, no, not dangerous.
>> And who, frankly, seem unconcerned about what they leave behind.
>> Okay, damn, he's got a point.
>> New York.
>> Which like if they hadn't been in New York though, like the world would be in a completely different state if they hadn't done something about that.
And even same with DC.
Oh, no.
Oh, gosh. Oh, that's a tough shot.

My name is Zemo.
>> Zemo?
I've never heard that name.
>> And other bloodier methods to find what I need.
It can only be dying for your pride.
>> He's got patience.
Oh.
Are you sure about that?
You want one of those to be your last words?
>> So, I have an equation.
>> Oh, this will clear it up.
>> I mean, he's the only one who can lift the hammer other than Thor.
>> Tony.

>> [music] >> Stark.
Full beard.
Is that the neighbor?
>> As a kid, that was pretty cool.
But it was a lot to live up to.
Which is why I never told anyone we were related.
And she said, "Compromise where you can.
Where you can't, don't."
>> Don't.
How are you going to interpret this gap?
>> It is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say no.
You move.
>> All right, I know how he's going to interpret that.
>> Clint?
Says he's retired.
>> He did say no more projects.
>> I can't sign it.

>> Unless you need to move a piano.
>> [laughter] >> Oh. Oh.
>> Was used to make a terrible weapon.
We in Wakanda were forced to question our legacy.
>> T'Challa is who I thought um they were talking about when he said, "I know a guy." because of all the Wakanda stuff.
>> Wakanda is proud to extend his hand in peace.
>> EVERYBODY, GET DOWN!
>> OH my gosh.
>> [groaning] >> In peace.
They meant for peace. Oh, no.
>> She bought me my first thigh holster.
>> Very bright.
>> Aw.
Are you guys going to get coffee?
Are your rooms next to each other?
>> She kept so many secrets.
I didn't want her to have one from you.
>> [crying] >> You're welcome.
>> Including Wakanda's King T'Chaka.
Officials have released a video of a suspect who they have identified as James Buchanan Barnes.
>> No.
>> I'm very sorry.
>> Doing a lot of apologizing today.

Are you saying you'll arrest me?
>> No.

>> I should be the one to bring him in.
>> Why?
>> Cuz I'm the one least likely to die trying.
>> Oh, boy.
You guys are not inconspicuous at all in your matching outfits.
>> The people that shoot at you usually wind up shooting at me.
>> You got red wing though.
>> You're going to have to hurry.
We have orders to shoot on sight.
>> Thank you so much, Sharon.
Kate, Sharon.
>> It might just be housekeeping.
>> I'm moving in.
>> I have your frühstück.
>> Breakfast. I was going to say towels.
Zeno? Zemo?
Brother.
So, it was okay. Was it actually Bucky?
I don't think it was.
The bomber was Zemo.
But, they look enough similar in their eyes.
You didn't even get you to eat your fruit.
>> German special forces approaching from the south.
>> Oh. Understood.
>> I mean, yeah.
I'm behind you.
Not the Germans. The American Russians.
>> This doesn't have to end in a fight, Buck.
>> Did you get your arm replaced?
>> You pulled me from the river.
Why?
>> Yes.
>> I don't know.
>> 3 seconds.
>> Yes, you do.
>> Cuz you're a good guy.
God, the action sequences are so good.
>> You're going to kill someone.
>> Again.
>> kill anyone.
>> OH.
THE ARM.
I THAT WON'T KILL. That'll just hurt.
That will just a little bit of concussion.
>> I think I'm hosting a puppet show.
>> In your Captain America outfit.
Scene fleeing the crime scene with infuged >> Come on, man.
>> No killing, Bucky.
Where did your hat go? Did it fall off?
Ooh.
Oh.
Black Panther.
>> Sam, Southwest rooftop. Who the hell's the other guy?
>> You're about to find out.
>> Here, kitty, kitty.
Watching those bullets just bounce off of him.
Ooh.
I read that, but my first thought watching them all run this fast is Twilight.
>> [laughter] >> Uh, hold on tight, spider monkey.
Crazy.
>> Right behind you.
>> You got Redwing?
Where's our little drone friend?
Can I borrow this?
That was so sick.
Oh, it was such a sick shot.
Ooh.
My ears. Ugh.
He's so He's so cat-like.
Predator cat with his uh with his movements. It's such a good intro to his character.
>> Stand down.
>> Mr. War Machine, sir?
Good to see you. Thanks for showing up.
Did you get approval for this?
>> Congratulations, Cap.
You're a criminal.
>> Aw.
New king of Wakanda.
Mhm.
>> A pinch.
I haven't actually ever eaten anything before, so Please.
>> We may not have Tony and Pepper anymore, but I guess we've got Wanda and Vision.
>> No one dislikes you, Wanda.
>> That's good.
>> [laughter] >> They can't help but be afraid of you.
>> Are you?
>> My amygdala is purely sympathetic, so >> So, no.
>> I know it's not of this world, but the power of Loki's staff gave you your abilities, but its true nature is a mystery.
>> It's very bad.
It's very bad.
>> Why are you not letting me leave?
>> Aw.
>> It is a question of safety.
>> I can protect myself.
>> Not your safety, baby girl.
>> Mr. Stark would like to avoid the possibility of another public incident.
>> She's just going to the grocery store.
And what do you want?
>> For people to see you as I do.
>> Oh!
Okay, so I think that we know where Wanda's probably going to end up on the split sides.
I imagine Vision has to be with Tony, but maybe not.
>> So, you like cats?
>> [laughter] >> Your suit vibranium?
>> Mhm.
>> So, I ask you as both warrior and king how long do you think you can keep your friend safe from me?
>> [sighs] >> But, we don't know if he actually did it.
Nikki Lauda is making bombs in his hotel room and kind of has the same eyes.
I don't know if it was actually Bucky.
>> I better not look out the window and see anybody flying around in that.
>> [laughter] >> Take it for a test spin?
>> For the record, this is what making things worse looks like.
>> He's alive.
>> No, no.
>> And I think that everybody else is also alive.
>> Not getting that shield back, either.
>> Mhm. Technically, it's the government's property. Wings, too.
>> That's cool.
>> [laughter] >> Warmer than jail.
Can we make some new ones?
Is this when Ant-Man comes and steals them back for us?
>> Provided a support to the Alliance when they needed it most.
Some would say it brought our country closer to war.
>> Oh, no. Cap, he's trying to like all of branch.
>> I'm trying to what do you call it?
>> That's a an olive branch.
>> I will legitimately >> Oh, I'm not kind of pregnant.
>> No, definitely not. We're taking a break.
>> The opposite. Aw.
>> You know, I'm glad Howard got married.
I only knew him when he was young and single.
>> Oh, really? You two knew each other?
>> He mentioned it a lot, didn't he? Yeah.
[laughter] Yeah, we knew that.
>> If I see a situation pointed south I can't ignore it.
Sometimes I wish I could.
>> No, you don't.
>> You're right.
>> No, I don't.
>> Mhm.
>> Sometimes >> Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth.
>> I'm doing what has to be done to stave off something worse.
>> You keep telling yourself that.
>> Ugh, boys.
>> Hate to break UP THE SET.
>> OH.
UGH.
BOYS, BOYS, BOYS.
You both have really good points. It's just what it makes it really difficult.
>> There a seat for your gear?
>> Bird costume, come on.
>> [laughter] >> It's a falcon.
It's not just a bird.
>> I just want to ask you a few questions.
Do you know where you are, James?
>> Oh, he's the one doing the interrogation.
>> We didn't bomb the UN. It turns a lot of heads.
>> That doesn't guarantee that whoever framed him would get him. It guarantees that we would.
>> Unless he he he's right there.
>> Don't worry.
We only have to talk about one.
>> They did do like a a good job of making them look very similar like in the face.
>> Hey, what is this?
What is this?
>> Oh, I thought whoa.
>> Can you get me a source on that outage?
>> Sub level five east wing. We should get the get the bird suit.
Get the panther suit, too.
Don't look at it, Bucky.
>> [screaming] >> Oh, Bucky.
Oh, no.
Nobody needs a lullaby.
Nobody needs a lullaby.
>> Get up.
>> See through him.
See right through him, Steve.
>> To see an empire fall.
>> Oh, oh.
Please do not hurt my falcon.
Oh, no.
Youch. Youch.
>> Just tell me you brought a suit.
>> Sure did. It's a lovely Tom Ford three-piece two-button. I'm an actor.
>> A lovely Tom Ford.
Cap needs his shield, please.
>> [sighs] >> Yes.
Yes.
>> Oh.
Ouch.
>> The elites recognize him.
>> Ooh.
Where is the rest of your suit?
Is it the ring?
To tell Do you have like reinforced knees?
You landed that real easy.
>> [music] >> Are you just going to hold on to the helicopter?
He's so strong.
>> [music] >> I love Steve so much. I love Cap so much.
Russo brothers, thank you for that shot.
Oh my god, not that one.
Oh.
Oh.
What's the off word? What's the safe word to stop choking?
Brooklyn?
Ooh.
Ooh.
That was strong enough bonk on the head to knock him out?
Reset the factory setting re-reset the factory settings?
Interesting.
So, is it his parents in 1991 maybe? And he's got that voicemail like and he's re-living that?
The same way that Tony was re-living the last day of his parents? And that's why he's trying to figure out like why they were targeted or something?
>> Hey Cap.
>> Oh, and this is our scene.
This is our scene.
>> He used to wear newspapers in his shoes.
>> To give him a little lift?
>> The bombing, the set up, the doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than I don't know.
>> Mission report?
>> Where I was kept.
He wanted to know exactly where.
>> Why would he need to know that?
>> Okay. Okay.
Are there more that look like you or just more that are trained like you?
Mhm.
Oh, okay.
They're all different. They're just got the same juice.
I don't think that did much.
Uh-oh.
>> Who are they?
Infiltrate, assassinate, destabilize.
They can take a whole country down in one night.
>> So can our girl Natasha.
>> If we call Tony, he won't believe us.
Even if he did, who knows if the Accords will let him help.
>> There's our scene.
>> Maybe not.
I know a guy.
>> Now I get it now. It makes more sense in the context.
>> Because this time I won't be wearing loafers and a silk shirt.
72 hours, guaranteed.
36 hours.
>> 48? Can we compromise at 48?
He really can't stop them.
>> arm is numb. Is that normal?
>> No.
>> It'd be great if we had a Hulk right about now. Any shot?
>> You really think he'd be on our side?
>> Hey, mate.
>> Hey.
Cutie.
I didn't know he'd be in this.
>> Oh, Mr. Parker.
>> Um >> I didn't realize.
>> Hey, I'm I'm I'm Peter.
>> He's such a cutie patootie.
>> Regarding the >> me about the grant.
>> About the grant.
>> Foundation.
>> Yeah.
>> So now we're in business.
>> You didn't tell me anything. What's up with that? You're keeping secrets from me?
>> Well, I just I just know how much you love surprises, so I thought I would let you know.
>> [laughter] >> He looks so little.
>> You mean to believe that she's someone's aunt?
>> Yeah, well, they come in all shapes and sizes, you know.
>> This walnut date loaf is exceptionally >> Can I just stop you there?
>> [laughter] >> Oh.
It's not that good.
>> That's you, right?
>> Cuz you know that's all fake. It's all done on the computer.
>> Mhm.
>> I It's all AI.
Deep fakes.
>> What what happened?
>> Uh it's uh I didn't realize this is how they introduced him.
>> You're the spider-ling.
Crime-fighting spider. You're spider-boy.
>> Then?
>> Sp- Spider-Man.
>> [laughter] >> This webbing.
The tensile strength is off the charts.
>> How'd you do it?
>> You're in dire need of an upgrade.
Systemic, top to bottom. 100-point restoration, that's why I'm here.
>> We do need another Avenger on our team.
>> But I I couldn't then, so I shouldn't now.
>> Sure, cuz you're just >> Exactly. But I can't tell anybody that, so I'm not.
>> Precious little Tom Holland.
>> And then the bad things happened.
They happened because of you.
>> Are we sure he's going to be on our team?
By our, I mean Tony's.
>> I'm going to sit here, so you move the leg.
>> Mhm.
>> I don't know. I don't even have a driver's license.
>> been to Germany?
>> No.
>> Oh, you'll love it.
>> [laughter] >> Why?
>> I don't have a passport.
>> I got homework.
>> Sweet boy.
>> I can't just drop out of school.
>> a little dangerous. Better tell Aunt Hottie I'm taking a trip.
>> Aunt Hottie? [laughter] >> Don't tell that to me.
All right, Spider-Man.
>> Spider-Man.
He said the right name?
>> Sorry, I'll get you.
>> [cough] >> That's so fun. I legitimately I know he's got his own movie series like his own I just assumed they would start him off like that and not like this. Ah!
>> Guess I should have knocked.
>> Clint, I thought you were retired.
>> Disappointing my kids.
>> I doubt it. They're probably so proud of you.
>> So proud.
>> dad. We were supposed to go water skiing. Cap needs our help.
>> Please consider the consequences of your actions.
>> Okay, they're considered.
>> Ah! [gasps] Come on, Wanda.
>> You want to make amends? You get off your ass.
>> Oof. Pep talk dad Clint coming through.
>> I knew I should have stretched.
>> [groaning] >> This seems like cheating.
Oh.
>> You can't overpower me.
>> I know I can't.
>> She can.
>> She can't.
>> Yes, she can.
>> That's enough. Let him go.
I'm leaving.
>> I can't let you.
>> Is this our first couple's fight? Oh, good night.
Oh, wow.
>> They will never stop being afraid of you.
>> That's not fair.
And not true.
>> I control their fear.
Only my own.
>> Okay, damn.
He'll forgive you. We should go.
>> Come on.
We got one more stop.
>> Who else are we picking up? You think he Clint's got like very family functional vehicle?
An SUV with a third row?
A bike rack on top.
>> Good, cuz this stuff tends to draw a crowd.
>> Can you move your seat up?
>> No.
>> Leg room? [laughter] As someone who had a bug in high school, there's no leg room in that backseat.
Let me tell you.
>> They're going to come looking for you.
>> Yeah, I know.
But Aunt Peggy taught me to plant and not move.
Wait.
What? [screaming] One more?
One more for the road?
>> [laughter] [gasps] >> His boy is giving him the nod.
Great work kissing, buddy.
Three dudes in a slug bug.
Three beefy dudes in a slug bug.
>> I didn't call 5-0 and you had a choice.
>> Hey, man, you're doing me a favor.
>> You didn't want to go water skiing?
>> How about our other recruit?
>> He's rare to go.
>> Oh, is it?
>> coffee in him, BUT >> YES.
>> [snorts] >> THAT'S A RARE GIFT.

>> [laughter] >> Good to see you. Look, what happened last time >> a great audition, but it'll it'll never happen again.
>> Is Cap still doesn't know?
>> Huh?
We're outside the law on this one.
So, if you come with us, you're a wanted man.
>> Well, I already am.
>> Suit up.
>> Ooh.
Our confiscated stuff, we got it back.
Thanks, Kate.
Sharon.
Hey, buddy.
>> Wow, it's so weird how you run into people at the airport. Don't you think that's weird?
>> Definitely weird.
>> [laughter] >> Ross gave me 36 hours to bring you in.
That was 24 hours ago.
Can you help a brother out?
>> For old time's sake?
>> Do you really want to punch your way out of this one?
>> I have a team as well.
>> UNDER ARREST.
>> [laughter] >> OOH.
>> WELL, I COULD HAVE STUCK THE LANDING A LITTLE BETTER. IT'S just new suit.
>> him with the shield.
>> Cap- Captain.
>> Hey, kid.
>> Spider-Man.
>> Yeah, we'll talk about it later.
>> A kid from Brooklyn?
>> I'm trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart.
>> Oh, no.
>> You did that when [music] you signed.
All right, Lang.
>> Ah! Guys, something >> [laughter] >> What WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?
>> I BELIEVE THIS IS YOURS, Captain America.
>> Captain America.
The way he said that.
>> Wilson and Barnes.
>> Barnes is mine.
>> Bonk.
Vibranium on vibranium.
Ooh.
>> Look, I really don't want to hurt you.
>> I wouldn't stress about it.
Her and her little zappy wrist.
>> You have a metal arm? That is awesome, dude.
>> Peter.
Ah, my ears.
>> Wanda, I think you Vision's feelings.
>> You locked me in my room.
>> Okay, first that's an exaggeration.
Second, I did it to protect you.
>> That's such a parent thing to say.
>> This guy can't SEEM TO MISS.
WELL, first time for everything.
>> FOUR.
OH, I HOPE THESE PEOPLE HAVE THE insurance on their cars. Unless those were the rental ones, which Oh, I hate that we're fighting, but I love watching them fight.
>> Hey buddy, I think YOU LOST THIS.
>> [laughter] >> GOT TO SAY THAT'S AWESOME.
>> KNOW IF YOU'VE BEEN in a fight before, but there's usually not this much talking.
>> All right, sorry. My bad.
>> He gets nervous, you know.
First time fight with the Avengers.
>> I'd love to keep this up, but I've only got one job here today and I got to impress Mr. Stark, so >> Oh, Redwing.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, come on.
>> So funny to see it so little in his hand.
I know you guys can run faster than that. I've seen it.
Man.
This is so bad, but I can't stop smiling because of how cool it is.
>> They're not stopping.
>> Neither are we.
>> Poor Peter's got homework.
He's going to be a little bit sore.
>> We're still friends, right?
>> Of course.
You're pulling your punches.
Called out.
>> NO, THANKS.
>> SHE'S SO OP, MAN.
Her powers are crazy OP.
>> of physics at all.
>> Look, kid. There's a lot going on here that you don't understand.
>> Stark said you'd say that.
>> [laughter] >> I You pulled down a helicopter just a little bit ago. Are the webs that strong?
>> No, I'm good. I'm good, arrow guy. Let's go. Let's go.
>> [laughter] >> You got heart, kid.
Where you from?
>> Brooklyn.
>> Queens?
>> Queens.
That's right. Spider-Man is Queens.
>> Oh, you got to You're going to have to take this into the shop.
>> WHO'S SPEAKING?
>> [laughter] >> THIS ISN'T THE REAL FIGHT, STEVE.
>> All right, Sam. What's the plan?
>> We need a diversion. Something big.
>> Something big?
You got a guy for that?
>> Run like hell.
>> And if I tear myself in half, don't come back for me.
>> He's going to tear himself in half?
>> Well, >> I'm the boss. I'm the boss. I'm the boss.
>> You got this.
That's something big?
>> Okay, tiny dude is big now.
>> Yep, we see that.
>> I guess that's the signal.
>> Then go. Get to running.
>> [snorts] >> It's so funny to watch them run at normal pace when we literally saw them like running faster than than traffic.
Redwing?
>> You want to get to them, you got to go through me.
I'm Clint.
>> I don't care.
>> I do. Papa Clint.
The father of the Avengers. Retired for 5 minutes.
The two the two bug superheroes.
Can we evacuate that?
Ooh, thank you, Wanda.
Keep going. Keep going. Keep going.
>> I'm going to regret this.
You ever see that really OLD MOVIE, EMPIRE STRIKES BACK?
>> Really old?
>> is it?
>> [laughter] >> That really old movie.
>> WITH THE WALKING THINGIES.
>> OH MY GOSH.
OOH.
>> Does anyone have any orange slices?
>> Orange slices? Is it halftime? Post game?
Any Gatorade?
>> Hi.
Hey, man.
>> [laughter] >> I'm not done. I'm not Okay, I'm done.
>> You can be done.
It's a good first good first go.
>> I said I'd help you find him, not catch him.
There's a difference.
>> Uh-oh. I don't know if he's going to see it that way.
Ooh, these two.
>> I'm sorry.
>> Kiss.
Kiss. And now we go back to the compound and kiss.
>> Vision, copy. Target his thruster. Turn him into a glider.
>> Hey, hey, hey.
Dang it.
Missed.
That's Vision, not Hawkeye.
>> Who is he?
>> You got to turn around.
Oh, no.
The jeez that he's probably pulling right now is >> [gasps] >> Read vitals.
>> Heartbeat detected.
>> Oh.
Oh, thank god.
>> Sorry.
>> And Vision's the one who zapped him.
And then we all turn into the room.
Oh my god.
No. No.
Oh, but >> I don't know if I'm worth all this, Steve.
>> You are.
To him.
>> You didn't have a choice.
I know.
But I did it.
>> Sweet boy.
Sweet, repentant boy.
I mean, legitimately, they just grabbed him after the he fell off the train car, right?
>> I became distracted.
I just didn't think that was possible.
>> You ever been in love?
Steve's not going to stop.
If you don't either, Rhodey's going to be the best case scenario.
>> You let them go, Nat.
>> We played this wrong.
Oh.
>> I must be hard to shake the double agent thing, huh?
>> Oh, no, Tony.
>> T'Challa told Ross what you did, so they're coming for you.
>> I'm not the one that needs to watch their back.
>> Cuz she can disappear. She knows how to.
>> He was met by this man.
>> Did you run facial recognition yet?
>> What do I look like?
>> Uh, I don't know. I've been picturing a redhead.
>> Pepper Potts?
>> Where police also found a wig and facial prosthetics approximating the appearance of one James Buchanan Barnes.
>> Yes.
Son of a [ __ ] Never mind. Okay, so I was wrong with my my thoughts, but correct with the end game that it wasn't Bucky for real.
Interesting.
Zemo.
Oh, wow. They're still here. After all of that, they're still here.
>> This is wrapped prison control. You are clear for landing, Mr. Stark.
>> Thank you.
Underwater?
That's a way that is a security protocol and a way to keep people out.
Yep.
>> You seriously think I'm going to listen to you after that fiasco in Leipzig?
You're lucky you're not in one of these cells.
>> Didn't see that coming.
>> The future is, gentlemen, >> Wow.
>> Give me a break, Barton. I had no idea they'd put you here. Come on.
>> Yeah, well, you knew they'd put us somewhere, Tony.
>> He's got three kids.
>> All right, you're all grown up. You got a wife and kids.
I don't understand why didn't you think about them before you chose the wrong side?
>> I don't know if he thinks he chose the wrong side.
>> And Pym always said you never can trust a Stark.
>> Ew, the Hank Pym?
>> Clearly I made a mistake, Sam. I was wrong.
>> That's [music] a first.
>> But you have to go alone.
And as a friend.
Easy.
>> Because Cap says friend.
After all of that?
When do we get our friends out of here though? Clint has three kids and a farm.
His wife is Well, I don't know how much time has passed. I was going to say she might be postpartum and she needs help, too.
The Iron Man suit up scenes are always so good.
Am I following him? Oh, T'Challa.
>> You blew three bucks trying to win that stuffed bear for a redhead.
>> Seems bookie.
>> You called her dot. She's got to be 100 years old right now.
>> She's probably dead.
Also, so are we. Tony and Tony.
Here's a friend.
You were right.
Kind of.
>> You seem a little defensive.
At ease, soldier. I'm not currently after you. And why are you here?
>> To help.
>> Ross has no >> My day I'm here, I'd like to keep it that way.
Otherwise, I got to arrest myself.
>> Well, that sounds like a lot of paperwork.
>> It's good to see you, Tony.
>> You, too, Cap.
>> Buddies, buddies, buddies.
>> We got heat signatures.
>> How many?
>> Uh one.
>> Behind us?
Oh, everyone's still cold. That's why there's no heat signatures.
Who?
Them?
>> Did you really think I wanted more of you?
>> Oh.
>> But now that you're standing here, I just realized there's a bit of green in the blue of your eyes.
>> Are you a fan?
>> An empire toppled by its enemies can rise again.
>> Oh.
>> But one which crumbles from [music] within >> You are Hydra? You are not? The Avengers.
Avengers are crumbling from within.
>> I know that road.
What is this?
>> It was his parents.
>> Barnes, Barnes.
>> Oh, no.
Oh, no.
Howard.
>> [sighs] >> Oh, [ __ ] you.
Oh, Tony.
>> [music] >> Oh, Cap. Oh.
>> I thought you were Tony.
>> He didn't know.
>> Did you know?
>> No.
>> Did you shoot me? I just need to know.
Yes.
>> Did we find that out in Winter Soldier?
>> Get out of here.
>> Oh, no. I'm trying to remember the finer details of of Winter Soldier.
Did we learn that there or not?
>> had control of his mind.
>> Move.
>> Mhm.
>> [gasps] >> Oh, no.
All I can say is oh, no now.
Can we stop Zemo?
Can we get him? Where's T'Challa?
>> Do you even remember them?
>> I remember all of them.
>> Oh.
He's haunted by it all, too.
They tried to turn his brain to mush in between.
And he still remembers them.
>> This isn't going to change what happened.
>> I don't care.
He killed my mom.
>> He killed my mom. Yeah.
It's not even like he killed my parents cuz I know that he had like a very strained relationship with his dad, but my mom.
Oh, this hurts to watch. This hurts to watch.
No. No, we need that we need that we need that we need that.
His teeth are so white.
Ooh.
Huh!
Oh.
That's such a sick shot.
Oh. Oh, here's the challah.
>> I almost killed the wrong man.
>> Yeah.
>> Hardly an innocent one.
Is that what you wanted?
>> Message deleted.
>> My son was excited.
He could see the Iron Man from the car window.
And my father still holding my wife and son in his arms.
And vengeance has consumed you.
>> It's consuming you, too, though.
>> It's consuming them.
I'm done letting it consume me.
>> It's challah.
>> I'm living or not done with you yet.
>> You're going on trial.
I think he's just protecting his friend now.
>> He's my friend.
So was I.
>> Was?
Still.
He doesn't sit down.
We've heard that before.
>> I could do this all day.
>> Oh, it empowered the suit now.
Cuz he doesn't have the shrapnel in his heart anymore.
I'm so stressed.
Are you taking Are you You're taking it.
Yeah.
>> That shield doesn't belong to you.
>> He's already a criminal.
What?
Tony, what do you have left?
No Pepper, no Cap.
This can't be the end. Okay, thank goodness.
>> Meals at 8:00 and 5:00.
Toilet privileges twice a day.
>> Dr. Watson, is that you?
>> Please, step out of line.
>> It's very um Nick Fury.
>> To see it fail.
So spectacular.
>> think it failed.
>> Did it?
>> The Avengers are crumbling.
>> It's just first pass. Yeah. Give me some feedback.
>> Mhm. What do you think?
>> of the shock absorption? You may want to think about some AC down there.
>> They're [snorts] just temporarily crippled. They will recover just like the Avengers.
This is a metaphor.
>> And yeah, this sucks. This is uh but it hasn't changed my mind.
I don't think.
>> I don't think.
>> Are you Tony Stank?
>> [laughter] >> I almost forgot we hadn't even seen him yet.
Tony Stank War Machine rocks.
What is in here?
>> The Avengers are yours.
Maybe more so than mine.
>> Maybe we're home though.
>> Individuals.
And >> veins in his arms.
Did he do some push-ups before this, lift some weights? How did he get Did he get those popping?
>> I guess I thought by not telling you about your parents I was sparing you, but I can see now that I was really sparing myself.
>> That's so mature of you, Cap.
>> Priority call from Secretary Ross.
There's been a breach at the Raft prison.
>> Of course they're husband.
>> Yeah, put him through.
>> We're going to let it beep for a little bit.
>> have a problem.
>> Uh please hold.
>> No.
>> [laughter] >> Blink, blink, blink.
>> If you need us, >> we'll be there.
>> If you need me, I'LL BE THERE.
>> [screaming] >> OH MY GOSH, I'M SPINNING.
Captain America will return.
Hey Bucky. Bucky needs a red-headed nurse to tend to him, me thinks.
>> [gasps] >> Sure about this?
>> Goodnight, Bucky.
Ooh.
I got frosty real quick.
>> Your friend and my father, they were both victims.
>> T'Challa, you're so wise.
>> You know, if they find out he's here, >> they won't.
They won't. Who's going to tell them?
>> Let them try.
>> Let them try.
A A GLIMPSE OF WAKANDA.
>> [screaming] >> WHO WAS IT? WHO HIT YOU?
>> Aunt May.
>> [laughter] >> What's some guy's name?
>> Uh Steve.
>> Steve?
>> True.
>> Not incorrect.
>> No, no, no, you don't know me. He's from Brooklyn.
>> Brooklyn.
>> His friend was huge. Like huge.
>> Like huge. He's not lying.
>> I feel better.
>> Are those peas frozen peas?
Thanks, Aunt May.
>> Thank you, May.
>> Aunt Hottie.
Spider-Man.
Cute.
Cute. Spider-Man will return.
>> [gasps] >> Captain America will return.
Black Panther will return.
Winter Soldier will return.
Hey, where's the rest of my will returns?
Where's the rest of them? There's not the rest of them.
Man. Man.
I stand by what I said at the beginning of all of this, which is that the Captain America standalone movies have been some of my They're probably my favorites of the standalones. They just keep getting better. I also I do think that I really enjoy kind of the political everyday undertone to these movies, which you don't necessarily get with the Iron Man movies, that we haven't necessarily gotten with the Thors, or even, you know, our the Guardians, or Ant-Man.
That's the one.
Is kind of the the way that the Avengers kind of affect the world around them, not just taking on like single entity bad guys. The the overarching lasting impact of what's going on and how that is kind of addressed in the Captain America movies.
This one was so good though. I feel like this might be my favorite of the stand-alones up to this point. Hot off the press just hitting, you know, end on the movie a couple minutes ago.
I think this one might be my favorite.
And I don't think that that's controversial to say.
Is it maybe amplified by the fact that I just didn't really vibe with Ant-Man and this felt like way back into like my alley of what I enjoy from these movies?
Possibly. Possibly, but I also do think that the action was so good.
The idea of splitting the Avengers and then both sides having really really good points that they're making for why or why not to sign these accords. And then we see, you know, Black Widow and some of these characters that kind of fall in the middle and they take a side and then it's like, oh, are we on the right side?
I liked this so very much a lot. We also got so many, and I say so many, we got two.
Two two new characters. I was not expecting to see Spider-Man. I figured we were going to get um T'Challa and Black Panther sooner rather than later. I truly thought after the Ant-Man previous or like the the post-credit scene that the guy that um that they that Sam knew was Wakanda. I thought it was going to be Black Panther that he was referring to. Obviously not the case. Obviously he was talking about Ant-Man.
Which very much so makes sense now after we got the scene and we we saw in in the context, but my mind said because we knew the Wakanda and the the stolen metal and all of that. I thought that he was going to bring in Black Panther, but we got him anyway.
So, that's nice. This was super cool though. This is was really really cool.
I love the action sequence. I love the fight scene at the airport where it's just the Avengers on Avengers.
Wanda calling Clint on pulling his punches. You could tell that they don't want to fight, but they are fighting.
And I'm really I'm really nervous >> [sighs] >> to see where we go from here. I don't even know which one is next, honestly.
That's how much research I've been doing into like what stories are being told throughout I haven't even looked yet.
I haven't even looked yet. I don't know if we have It's definitely too early for another I mean I wonder if it'll be Spider-Man. Is it Spider-Man?
I don't know.
I do not know. Maybe. Zemo.
Zemo as a as an enemy. I I liked and not like liked. I feel like he was he was such a step up.
>> [laughter] >> He was such a step up from the um from what we got in Ant-Man as well, but like the extreme of what Tony got at the beginning at MIT when he was dropping all that money on people and the lady told him like these are my loved ones that were affected.
And you never I guess realize it's it's again just that reminder of they the individual lives impacted and what those people are feeling and going through as a result of their actions versus Steve's mindset of what we're doing is saving lives in the future and you can't you can't dwell on some of these the one-offs. It's so tough because both of them both of them make such good points.
Oh, my boys.
Our boys, the boys. Boys.
