In dating psychology, people often struggle to make clear decisions when they receive too much attention simultaneously, leading to indecisive behavior where they chase certainty with one person while staying tethered to others who are harder to fully win over; this creates a pattern where the person who demonstrates consistent loyalty and patience often becomes the final choice, as demonstrated by dating show patterns where indecisive individuals ultimately return to their original connection rather than the newest or most exciting option.

Nobody Wants the Person Who Wants Them | Better Late Than Single S2
Added:Hyuk-joon says Hanju is his top pick so why can't he stop checking in on the woman he supposedly moved on from this season has turned into a real dating psychology case study mismatched pace selective ambiguity and attachment patterns nobody names out loud stick around because by the end I'm breaking down who this show is actually building toward as its final couple subscribe before we get into it Hyuk-joon, Hyeonseo, and Hanju attention isn't commitment I'll be honest this one makes my blood pressure rise a little Hyuk-joon only just discovered he's desirable and it shows he's leaning into whoever's giving him the most attention instead of actually choosing he he got upset that a gift from Jeong-eun arrived at the same time as one for Jin-woo despite having gone cold on Hyeonseo beforehand he told her he had expectations of her while barely engaging with her directly and when asked why he went on so many dates he framed it as doing the other women a favour not wanting to deny them a chance come on that's the tell when someone frames their own inconsistency as generosity they haven't taken ownership of what they actually want now he's calling Hanju his top pick while still keeping tabs on Hyeonseo so chasing certainty with one hand while staying tethered to whoever's harder to fully win over with the other it's a bit like window shopping while your cart's already full you keep glancing at the item that's sold out instead of appreciating what you already picked that's the pull between availability and scarcity and it's worth keeping in mind for the next section too to be fair and I do want to be fair to him here this is a dating show and he's never dated before nobody in that house is coaching him on whether what he's doing is okay that softens my frustration a little it doesn't cancel out the double standard but it explains it this is what inexperience looks like when it's handed too much attention at once and honestly it's hard not to feel a little sorry for how out of his depth he clearly is Suji and Jung-hyun honesty and ambiguity can look the same Jung-hyun did the thing dating advice tells you to do he was upfront about his feelings it didn't land Suji didn't feel the same way and instead of giving him a clear answer she left him hanging the same way she's kept another guy on her roster despite him never ranking as a top pick and honestly my heart goes out to Jung-hyun a little here putting yourself out there clearly and getting silence instead of a straight answer stings in a very specific way notably though Suji was able to reject Jin-woo clearly when she was sure so the ambiguity is selective it shows up specifically with the people she hasn't made up her mind about including Hyuk-joon the hardest person in the house to pin down same dynamic as the previous section uncertainty holds attention longer than clarity does I'll give her this she's reportedly told each guy exactly where she stands emotionally whether that's real interest uncertainty or nothing which is more honest than Hyuk-joon justifying himself after the fact but being honest about how uncertain you are can still lead someone on if you never actually let them go it's like leaving a return window open indefinitely instead of just deciding whether you're keeping the item technically nothing's a lie but the other person's left holding the receipt clarity of feeling and clarity of communication aren't the same thing Soohyun and Taehoon a pace mismatch not a rejection this one's different less chaos more relatable and honestly it's the one that gets me a little emotional Taehoon gave Soohyun enough signals that assuming he reciprocated wasn't a misread on her part and I genuinely feel for her here she did nothing wrong she just showed up as herself what actually happened looks like a mismatch in pace she's naturally chatty and fills silence especially since this is all new to her too and Taehoon seems to have interpreted that warmth as her moving too fast think of it like two people on a walk one's naturally a fast walker the other prefers to stroll and neither one is wrong they're just out of step with each other that's not incompatibility that's two different clocks there's also a real chance Taehoon is simply guarded when it comes to relationships despite being an easy catch on paper good looking and well spoken which points the hesitation back at him not her I hope she doesn't internalize this as something she should have done differently attention's already shifted towards Seunghyeon instead and honestly that tracks I'm quietly rooting for that one when two people who both seem interested still don't connect the real question isn't was their interest it's whose pace won out predicting the final couples honestly Hyuk-joon's whole arc is giving me major Gwan-hee from Single's Inferno Season 3 déjà vu same setup a guy who suddenly becomes the most popular person in the house ends up juggling multiple women looks completely indecisive for most of the season and Gwan-hee had three women pursuing him and still couldn't make up his mind until the very last night but when it actually came down to it he didn't pick the newest or most exciting connection he went back to Hye-seon the woman he'd bonded with from day one the one who stayed loyal through all his back and forth if Hyuk-joon's story follows that same pattern the Hanju is my top pick line means a lot less than it sounds the finale twist would be him circling back to Hyeonseo the original connection the same way Gwan-hee circled back to Hye-seon after all that indecision Hyuk-joon's ending is murkier than his own Hanju is my top pick line suggests with only a couple of days left and very few other connections built Hyeonseo could still circle back to him simply because the alternative is choosing no one and Suji may end up all in on him by the finale too which if that happens sets up the real tension two women who never fully let go of him waiting to see who he actually chooses if that's how it plays out the finale isn't really about romance it's about who was willing to wait the longest for someone who never fully committed to anyone Soohyun and Seunghyeon are the safest bet this pairing was teased in the preview for the next episode and it fits the fast talker slow talker contrast the show clearly wants to set up final thoughts so here's where I land Hyuk-joon's top pick comment probably isn't as final as it sounds Suji's honesty and her ambiguity are two sides of the same coin and Soohyun may have already found a better match than the one that didn't work out do you think Hyeonseo or Suji ends up with Hyuk-joon or does he end up alone after stringing them both along and was Taehoon's hesitation driven by fear or was it simply bad timing drop your prediction below and subscribe for more breakdowns like this
