There's a trend going on around now called things you should be jealous of me for. Reasons why you should be jealous of me. Number one, I can roll my stomach.

[00:00:56]And what started as a cute funny thing has turned into the most unhinged Olympics of bragging I have ever witnessed in my life. We have women out here flexing about not sweating about not growing hair about their escapades in the bedroom.

[00:01:11]>> And I can reach the big O from just peeen and vagene like when did shame go out the window. Why are people sharing these very personal intimate and tmi moments of their lives to total strangers just for clicks? So today we're getting into all of it and together we're going to see the madness that is currently happening on Tik Tok.

[00:01:30]So let's get right into it. Now let's rewind real quick because in the beginning this trend was actually cute.

[00:01:36]It started as a joke, just a fun little thing where girls would point at themselves and list random things you should supposedly be jealous of. And the funny ones were genuinely funny. It was given confidence. It was giving humble bra things I think he would be jealous of me for. I have two brothers that I actually get along with. I have ginger skin because I can literally like sleep in my makeup and do quite frankly anything to my skin and she can survive it. I also have a strange talent where I can sleep in mascara for actually a week and she will somehow look fresh and better every single morning when I wake up. I never had a boyfriend in high school and you're probably thinking why would we be jealous of that? But I never had to experience the trauma of dating a boy in high school. Thank you. I actually do thoroughly enjoy the taste of a dirty martini which honestly might be my biggest flex in life. I never really get nervous or like anxiety before presenting. I was always like really good at presenting in front of the class and like talking to people. I also never really had to go to class to get good grades. I mean, we all know I skipped every single class in high school and university. And somehow I passed everything with flying colors. I also have naturally red hair, which some of you would not be jealous of, but you know what? I like to live in the delusion that everyone is jealous of it.

But then these women got a taste about being able to brag without consequences. and baby B it has gone downhill ever since. So, the first thing I started noticing was the body bragging. And listen, I'm going to be fair here. We live in a world where women are pressured to have certain body type. Surgery is the new normal. BBLs, boal fat removal. Everything is fake now. So, when I see girls going, "Be generous of me. I have a natural small waist. I have a natural bigger bum. My boobs are real." Okay, I get it. In a world full of fake bodies, having a natural one is something to feel good about. Fine. But the way some of these girls are saying it, this is no confidence. This is bragging and I feel like a lot of them have just been waiting for this trend because for years every time a woman tries to say something nice about herself, the internet would jump on her. Why are you bragging? Pick me much. Humble yourself.

[00:04:00]Now, this is where it gets confusing because then we moved from genetics to body functions. Yes, body functions.

[00:04:07]Things every human on Earth does. We have girls on TikTok genuinely flexing about the fact that they don't sweat.

[00:04:14]>> Things about me that I think people would be jealous of. Number one, I do not have body odor really. If I sweat a lot and then that sweat dries, it just kind of dries as odorless. And I think it might be an Asian thing, but I'm not sure.

[00:04:28]>> Sis, sweating is how the body cools itself down. It's biology. It's not a personality trait. If you genuinely don't sweat, that's actually a medical condition. That's not a flex. You might want to get that checked. Then they are the ones saying, "Be jealous of me. I don't grow body hairs. My amps are naturally hairless. I don't have hair on my armpits at all. Oops. Look at this.

[00:05:11]That would be amazing, but it's not something I'm losing sleep over. I have a wax appointment. I'm fine. You're part of 1% of humans who don't sweat and don't grow hair. What do you want? A medal, a certificate because 99% of human beings have these things. Nobody is losing sleep over their ampit hair.

[00:05:29]Nobody is crying themselves to sleep because they sweat in the summer. These are genuinely not the flexes you all think it is. But then we entered new territory. Period bragging. Yes, you heard me. Period bragging. Now, I need us to have a moment of silence for this one because periods are one of the few experiences that genuinely unites women across cultures, across countries, across every demographic. We all share this. The cramps, the bloating, the mood swings. This is something sacred to us.

[00:05:55]And now we have girls coming out and being like, "Be jealous of me. My period only lasts one day. Be jealous of me. I never get cramps. Be jealous of me. I don't bleed heavy."

Knowing how many of your sisters are out here doubled over in pain every single month. Some women have endometriosis. Some women have PCOS.

[00:06:38]Some women are bed reading for a week every month and you want to come on here and flex that yours last a day. Read the room. This isn't a flex in my opinion.

[00:06:46]This is a tonedeaf moment. But none of that none of that prepared me for what came next. Guys, brace yourselves because then it got dirty. Like genuinely dirty. We now have women on TikTok flexing about how often they use the bathroom. Yes. Number two. Number two, sis. People are coming on this app to brag about their bowel movements.

We have girls comparing their private areas to that of a corn starch.

[00:07:41]And then there's the hair color situation. We have grown women on the internet flexing about the color of the hair on their private parts. Be jealous of me. I have blonde hair down there. No one asked. Genuinely, no one.

[00:07:53]>> The hair on my legs is blonde. It's pink and it's a mini. And all my body hair is blonde. I never really feel the need to shave my legs, my arms, pluck my eyebrows. To me, I have a pink Annie and a pink bee hole. And here's the part that actually scares me. These girls, these are not random accounts. These are creators with hundreds and thousands of followers, some of them with millions.

[00:08:16]So, imagine being a 14year-old girl watching this, a 13year-old, a 12year-old watching a grown woman. She looks up and compares her body to that of a cornstarch and brag about her in places that should never be a topic of discussion. Now, that 13-year-old is going to grow up thinking her body has to look a specific way to be valuable.

[00:08:35]She's going to grow up thinking this is normal conversation. That's not confidence. That's not body positivity.

[00:08:41]That's grooming a generation to think they have to be performing for an audience that doesn't even care for them. And the cherry on top, we have women bragging about their performance in the bedroom. Yes, the bedroom.

Have you noticed something about everything I just talked about? about every video we just watched. Every single one of these brags are all male centered. Every last one. Small waist for who? Big bum for who? Hellless bodies, bedroom skills.

[00:09:36]Who are these flexes for? Because they are not for us. They are not for the women. They are for the men specifically. They are to prove that you are more desirable to men than other women are. That's the actual flex. It's not look how confident I am. It's more I'm more attractive to men than you are.

[00:09:55]>> I don't like that recently uh it's been more and more common to disguise egotistical behavior and narcissistic behavior as self-love and confidence.

[00:10:07]I'm noticing that it become it's becoming a lot more prominent in girls especially with trends like things you would be jealous of me for. And it's like you don't have to put other girls down and tell them that I have this and you don't. You have don't have to act that way. You can just be like, "Oh, this is what I love about myself and I'm so grateful for this about myself and I love this about what I have. You don't have to put other people down for it."

[00:10:33]>> I just saw a girl come up on my FYP saying things that people would be jealous of me for. She said, "Because it's pink and I have any belly button."

[00:10:40]One, nobody nobody's jealous. Trust me, nobody's jealous. I can I can promise you that. And two, it's giving Bane.

[00:10:45]It's giving not it's not giving confidence baddy. like it's giving not narcissism because that's a personality disorder and not uh things people describe as but it's definitely giving some sort of something going on in the brain because like what provokes you to say that.

[00:10:58]>> Okay, now I have to flip it because I'm not here to drag every single person who did this trend because there are people who did it well. There are girls who came on this trend and listed actual accomplishments. So number one, I was valid Victorian in my high school. I graduated with a 4.8 which is crazy. I was student body president for two years of college and I graduated top 5% of my class with two degrees and a minor.

[00:11:22]Number nine, I got a really highpaying job really fast. And what happened?

[00:11:27]People came for them, too. You're bragging. You're showing off. Why are you flexing your degree on TikTok? This is what the trend is for. That is literally the whole point. A man would post the exact same video listing his salary, listing his degree, listing his investments, and the comments will be full of women calling him high value marriage material and a woman list the same things and suddenly she's bragging.

[00:11:49]Make it make sense. This is exactly why some women have been waiting for this trend for years. Because every time a woman tries to celebrate herself, the internet shuts her down. So when these girls finally got a chance to share their wins, they took it. And I don't blame them. If you graduated, if you built something, if you accomplished something, view, you should be talking about it. That's the only kind of jealous of me content I actually support. So, here's where we land. The trend itself, not a problem. The trend started as a joke. It was supposed to be fun. Things you should be jealous of me for was never meant to be taken literally. Nobody was supposed to cry themselves to sleep watching these videos. But some women, some women were waiting. They had a list ready. They had the receipts. They had the body parts highlighted. They were locked, loaded, and ready to brag.

Okay, so I've seen this trend going around and it's lowkey getting a lot of hate, which I can see cuz it could come off as like bragging. And I don't want people to think that way about it. Way I see it, I think it's a good way for people to be grateful for the little things they have in life and acknowledge the things that they were blessed with that other people weren't blessed with. And the algorithm, the algorithm rewards it because controversy gets engagement. The more outrageous the brag, the more views, the more views, the more videos. The more videos, the more young girls watching, internalizing, comparing. This is how a generation of women grows up, thinking confidence means putting other women down. That's not confidence. That's competition. And the worst part, the competition is for men. So, at the end of the day, love yourself, be confident.
