Mr. Saleh, the former Minister of Power, was convicted of fraud in the execution of the Mambilla Power Project. He had requested leave of the court to seek medical attention before failing to appear again until his conviction. The arrest of the former Minister was announced by the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, at the commission's headquarters in Abuja.
Mr. Olukoyede disclosed that the former Minister was picked up in Kaduna State around 3:30 a.m. alongside two people accused of helping him avoid authorities.
