Countless red tentacles burst out from its body. Its whole form turns crystal clear. Nobody on Earth has ever seen anything like this. Mr. Furlong thinks it might be some kind of parasite. He wants to grab it and study it up close. But here's the weird part.

Hidden underneath that fragile little body is a set of razor sharp teeth. It lunges. It startles the entire room. Mr. Furlong breaks into a cold sweat, but tells the students everything's fine. It's not fine because this creature isn't just aggressive, it's highly contagious. Mr. Furlong plans to send it to the biology research institute, but the mother organism has already slipped onto campus. Its first target is Coach Willis. From that moment on, Coach Willis starts acting strange.

That night, things get a whole lot worse. Principal Drake goes back to her office alone to grab her keys. Willis appears behind her out of nowhere. He just wants to borrow a pencil, but she thinks he's harassing her. She shoves the pencil at him, furious. It goes straight through her palm. It happens so fast. Drake screams in pain, slaps him across the face with her keys and bolts. Willis starts chasing her. She barely makes it through the door, slams it shut, locks him inside. She thinks she's safe, but the teacher standing outside turns and looks at her. Cold eyes, scissors raised.

[00:01:34]Drake isn't going anywhere. The next day, school goes on like nothing happened. Nobody knows what went down last night. Nobody except Casey. Coach Willis used to be a decent guy. Now his temper is completely different. He snaps at Casey for no reason. Something feels off. Then Casey spots a female physics teacher walking into the boy's bathroom.

She doesn't believe a word of it. Then they look back and see nurse Harper completely fine, walking around like nothing happened. They can't explain it. They just run. Casey trips and falls. Delilah disappears without a trace, but the teachers don't chase them. Soon after, Casey brings his parents and a police officer back to search the office. Principal Drake cooperates fully. They open the cabinet.

[00:03:19]Nothing unusual is found. Principal Drake asks to speak with the officer privately. When they come back out, the officer's eyes have that same cold look.

Casey panics, makes up an excuse about a doctor's appointment and gets his mom out of there. Meanwhile, the mother organism working through Coach Willis starts a full-scale takeover. Teachers drop one by one. They gather together and drink water like they're dying of thirst.

[00:03:50]They line students up and send them into the office one by one for a so-called physical exam. The students who come out are irritable, blankfaced, and immediately start lining up to chug water. Casey watches all the signs add up and suddenly thinks of the creature activated by water. He pulls a few classmates into the lab. The worms in the fish tank are gone. Casey is convinced now. Aliens have taken over the school. Every teacher has been possessed. Meanwhile, Zeke Tyler has his eyes on Mary Beth, the new transfer student with a sweet smile. He smooth talks her into the chemistry lab within minutes. Things are about to get interesting when they overhear Casey talking next door. Zeke walks over, ready to make fun of him. Then, Mr. Furlong shows up and asks why they aren't in class. Zeke casually blurts out everything Casey suspects about the teachers, and then they all realize Casey is right. Mr. Furlong grabs Casey by the throat and hurls him across the room. Zeke pulls out a box cutter and slices off five of the teacher's fingers. But the fingers don't die. They crawl across the floor like insects, heading straight for the girls. Mr. Furong pins Zeke to a table. Red tentacles emerge from the wound, reaching for Zeke. At the last second, Zeke grabs a diuretic and throws it directly into Mr. Furlong's eye. Mr. Furlong convulses and collapses. It was an accident, but they just discovered something crucial. Diuretics are the organism's weakness. They grab a specimen in a bottle and get out of there. When they leave, the school has gone completely quiet. Students sit perfectly still in class, hands raised, attentive. No noise in the hallways. The infection is spread across the entire school. Hundreds of students stripped of personality, stripped of any normal emotion. They can't stay here. They drive out and run into infected police officers on the road. They turn around and head to Zeke's secret lab. Zeke reminds everyone that being a player doesn't mean being stupid. He cuts a piece off the parasite they brought back and drops it into a cage with a white mouse. One drop of water and it's done.

[00:05:36]The parasite burrows into the mouse almost instantly, forming a strange symbiotic bond. Zeke strangles the mouse and dissects it, removing the parasite hole. Here's what he finds. The parasite that matures inside a host isn't an independent organism. It's just an extension of the mother body. Once infected, the host is completely under its control. Going off sci-fi logic, if you destroy the mother body, every parasite dies with it and the infected hosts return to normal. Good news is they've confirmed that diuretics work. A small amount causes the parasite to dehydrate and die on contact. Delila says they should cut their losses and run while they can. Casey says no, they need to find the mother body now and end this. Then Stan Rosado raises a fair point. How do they know none of them have already been infected? And just like that, the group turns on each other before the search even begins. Zeke has an idea. He hands out diuretics and tells everyone to test themselves. Prove you're still human. The test reveals something no one expected. Delila has already been taken over. She shoves Stan down and makes a break. Casey raises his gun, but he can't pull the trigger. He has feelings for her. Delila uses that against him. She destroys everything left in the lab and runs. With their supply almost gone, they all give chase.

They get her on the ground. She won't cooperate, just keeps talking. Zeke shoots her. She stands right back up. Parasites pour out of her body by the hundreds. Mary Beth grabs the last of the diuretic and splashes it across her face before Zeke can stop her. After a few agonized screams, Principal Drake goes still to check if she was actually the mother body, Stan heads outside to assess the situation.

[00:07:25]There are only two diuretics left. He takes one and steps out into the pouring rain. When he gets to the field, he sees Coach Willis. His body has mutated beyond recognition. He's standing in the rain, absorbing it, drinking it in. They guessed wrong. Principal Drake wasn't the mother body. Everyone in the gym is tense. Then Stan reappears at the door.

[00:07:42]He says the mother body is still alive.

[00:07:44]Open the door, but Casey and the others are smart enough to push the last diuretic through the gap first. He has to prove he's clean. He pours it on the ground. He's been taken over, too. The diuretics are gone. They're trapped.

[00:07:55]Zeke suddenly remembers there are more in the car. He and Casey decide to go for it. They make it outside but run into a group of infected students almost immediately. They duck under a car.

[00:08:06]Casey stands up and runs out, drawing their attention. He ducks into a bus.

[00:08:10]Delilah appears. She tells him she wants him to become like her so they can be together forever. Casey doesn't fall for it. He climbs out through the skylight, drops to the roof, and runs toward the gym, pulling the infected along with him. Somewhere nearby, a woman's severed head rolls across the ground. Below the neck, dozens of smooth, slender legs are moving on their own. Zeke raises his gun. He sees the thing searching for its own body. He freezes, then gets out of there. He runs to his car and pops the trunk, but he's already been spotted.

[00:08:36]Hey, sweetie pie. One of his teachers, fully infected, is standing right there.

[00:08:41]She says she wants to eat him. Zeke forces himself to stay calm, dodges around her, and dives into the car. He gets it started, but she smashes the window and climbs in. He doesn't hesitate. Seat belt on, foot on the floor. He rams the car into another vehicle at full speed. She gets launched. Then the car explodes. Zeke drags himself out of the wreckage.

[00:09:01]Then a head whizzes past him through the air. He jumps to his feet, pulls his gun, and finishes the job. Back in the gym, Mary Beth suddenly attacks Stokeley. Mitchell. Turns out the new transfer student is the real boss. She peels off her human skin and transforms into something hideous. Casey and Stokeley run for their lives. The monster follows them all the way to the pool where it dives straight in. It's terrifyingly fast underwater. Massive tentacles burst through the surface and grabs Stokeley. She gets dragged under.

[00:09:27]The monster opens its mouth and it's nothing but fangs. Then something shifts. Stokeley snaps back to herself.

[00:09:33]She fights her way to the surface. They run. The monster retreats into the pool, shifts back into human form, and walks out as Mary Beth. Zeke returns to the gym with the diuretics, not knowing what just happened. He looks at the two girls and has no idea which one to trust.

[00:09:47]They're both pointing at each other.

[00:09:49]Finally, Mary Beth drops the act. She admits she's been secretly pouring out the diuretics when no one was watching.

[00:09:54]She fooled all of them. Zeke goes to throw a diuretic at her. Stokeley steps in the way. She's been infected, too.

[00:10:00]Casey grabs Stokeley from behind and locks her in a cage. Zeke hands Casey the diuretics. They split up to find the mother body. A monstrous shadow moves in the darkness. Before Casey can react, Zeke gets hurled across the room and goes down hard. The monster closes in on Casey. He backs away. Stokeley grabs his hair through the cage bars. He's seconds away from being infected. He rips himself free and runs. The monster tears after him, whipping tentacles through the air, obliterating everything in its path. Casey stays just ahead of it. He reaches the basketball court. The monster follows him in. Casey stops. He flips the switch on the electric folding stands, then tucks himself underneath the narrow seat gap. The monster moves in after him. By the time it figures out the trap, it's already too late. The gears kick in. The stands start to compress. Casey squeezes out at the last second. The monster is too large, too slow. It gets caught. The machine presses down. The monster lets out a howl and fires hundreds of parasites directly into Casey's skin. Casey thinks it's over, but the diuretics finally kick in. The mother body dehydrates rapidly. It goes silent. The parasites crawling through Casey's body drop out one by one. The mother body shrivels and dies. Every single infected person on campus snaps back to normal at the same moment. Casey Connor becomes the hero who saved the school.
