[00:00:00]I always tell them Christianity is not just a biblical religion. Christianity is an at least half a pagan religion.

[00:00:06]But I say this provocatively for a good reason. Because what happens is that well, you have Jesus Christ and you have the stories about Jesus Christ, you got the Gospels and all that. But the church, the Christian church really becomes establishes an institution after the 4th century, right? And Christian theologians discovered very quickly that you cannot build a theological system just on the words of Jesus. That's not enough. You need a philosophical foundation. And they found that in Platonism and in other Greek philosophical traditions. And it is simply impossible to talk about Christian theology, basic Orthodox Christian theology without including all these pagan philosophical traditions that were pervasive in Christian theology.
