Successful NHL franchise rebuilding requires strategic roster management including trading high-salary players for younger talent, signing key players to long-term contracts with no-movement clauses, and maintaining salary cap flexibility to balance young core development with veteran depth, ultimately leading to championship contention.

Rebuilding The Canadiens After Getting Whooped By The HurricanesAdded:
Well, the Montreal Canadiens have lost in the conference finals, getting dominated in the process. So, I'm going to be going ahead and rebuilding this roster and hopefully winning a few Stanley Cups along the way. And we got a good top line. Suzuki, Slavowski, and Cfield plus five there. Ivan Demongh is only 19 years of age and he's got a lead high potential already in 87 alongside L and New Hook. Can somebody tell me what happened to Patty L in the postseason?
That dude did not show up. I did not see a single second of ice time. I'm going to be bumping up Kirby Doc to that third line alongside Deno and Gallagher. And then defensively, Lane Hudson only 21.
Noah Dobson probably a guy that'll end up moving despite him only being 25 years old. He is making $9.5 million which is a little bit too much for my liking. We got Mat and Kerier. Kaden Ghoulie will be bumped up there. And then I'm probably going to replace the bottom six eventually, but we have a starting goalender. Jakob Dobish proved himself in the postseason 85 overall.
He's got starter high potential. He's locked up for 2 years on his ELC. So, we're going to have him on a pretty cheap contract for the foreseeable future. But now, it's time to go ahead and make some trades. I think one of the first things I want to do is get rid of Noah Dobson and his contract. 9.5. Eight full seasons is terrible, man. We're going to be swapping him for the younger, a little bit worse, Pavl Mintikov. He's a staple here during my GM modes. One for one might honestly go through. No, it does not. Totally unwilling. I'm going to have to go ahead and attach a draft pick, which I am more than willing to do. How about a third and a fourth from this season? Still not going to go through. Throw in a second, third, and a fourth. And Noah Dobson.
And still the Anaheim Ducks, rightly so, do not want to get rid of Pavl Mintikov.
Now, I'm not giving up Bulldog. He's only 22 years of age. Owen Beck is only 21. All these young guys, Joshua Wah, we don't even have Michael H and NHL 26.
EA, please start making college players.
Sadly, I'm going to have to attach a first round draft pick from 2031 to finally No, they are just not willing to move off of Mikov. Dear God, man, can we please get this trade to go through?
There we go. Welcome in Mintov. Dobson is gone as well as a first, second, and a third. It'll all be worth it in the end. Don't worry. Sadly, we have GI at 6.5 for the next two seasons. Fipa, no for the next two years. Josh Anderson, we can honestly move him. I don't know if Anaheim's going to have enough trade value or not trade value. What am I saying? Are you stupid? Enough salary cap space to have a swap here. What about Becket Senica? We go young. We get rid of Josh Anderson. Probably going to have to attach somebody else. What about Patty L? L only has one year left on his contract and he's our second line center right now. Honestly, I'm going to go line a throw him into the trade as well.
Anaheim would be over the salary cap, which means we'll have to take somebody back that actually has some salary to them. Lauren has two years left, which I don't like. This is a blockbuster deal.
Anderson in line A as well as a third and a fifth for Becket Senica and Jacob Trouba from the Anaheim Ducks, but they do not want to go through with it. Man, I've been getting straight up rejected by Anaheim to start off the video. I think I'm going to wait and hold off on any more trades right now and just see how we simulate. I'm going to move up Kirby Doc to our top six. He will need to be resigned. Only one year left on his contract. I got Bul Duke, Deno, and Galley Anderson alongside New Hook and Evans. And then our top line of Cfield, Suzuki, and Slavovski. Year number one basically is going to define the entire video. It'll show me where Montreal is at in NHL 26. Now, we should simulate pretty well. Should be a playoff team, but it will show me what we need to add to this squad in order to win a Stanley Cup. Well, I guess it's pretty clear the Montreal Canadians are not really good enough. 37 35 and 10, only 84 points, and we were dead last in the Atlantic division. I know the Atlantic is a blood bath, but come on, man. How do we end up finishing last now? Despite that, Nick Suzuki had a solid season. 28 goals and 88 points. Soul Cfield's going to score 42 and 77. We got Demi off at 60, but was a minus 15. He's a rookie. He'll get better. At 55, Hudson 50, Mike Mat 49.
He's going to walk to unrestricted free agency. And then our goalie of the future, Jakob. He was solid. 33 wins, five shutouts, and a 916. Not a single thing I can complain about. We got Conor McDavid leading the way offensively.
Most points in the NHL at 107, point head 105. dry settle 103 and Nate McKinnon won Hundo. On the goal side, McKinnon will lead with 50 tucks followed by passes 48, Buchad 46, and Conor McDavid 45. That was an extremely disappointing season. We were like 18 and N at one point also. We're just going to put that behind us. Absolutely nobody is shocked to see Colorado go all the way as they beat the Lightning in six games. They're going to grab their second Stanley Cup in the 2020s. Dry settle will win the Ted Lindsay. Nate the Maurice Rashard, Connor the Art Ross and Braden Point is going to steal the heart trophy. We got Macar winning the Norris Kadri the K smite Helluck the Vzna and the Selki will go to Anze Kopitar. The Canadians could get a top five draft pick here as we are going to be selecting unfortunately 12th overall as the LA Kings will grab Gavin McKenna.
Now I'm not going to be bumping up to the number one overall pick. We're going to allow McKenna to go to the Kings. But at 12th overall, we should be able to grab a pretty good prospect. MueL Person, defensive defenseman or offensive Dman. My bad. Why is he got a similar style to Mark Edward Vlicensive Dman? The thing is though, he's NHL ready from Sweden. Top four medium potential at a 78 overall. I will gladly take that. All right, we are officially at the resign phase. I will qualify Pavl Mintikov. Actually, we should just get this man locked up immediately, right?
He wants 9 mil over six seasons. So, we're going to go four years, lower the AAV a little bit down to 7.250 and hope that he accepts. Patty L. I don't know if I want to bring him back.
He's probably going to want a pretty big deal. I mean, we give him a full no movement clause for four years. We can get him under five. That honestly would not be bad at all. I'm going to go 4.7 for the next four seasons with a full no movement clause. I'm going out on a limb here with Patrick Lane. We'll see how it goes. Mikov is going to accept my offer as well as line. We also got back Joshua Wah. As much as I would love to keep Martinez St. Louis, the fit for John Cooper or Chris Knobblock, it's just too good, man. They fit every single team I ever do a GM mode on. They're obviously a much better coach and result of that is better regular season finishes. If Marty missed the playoffs in real life, though, let's be honest, that dude was probably getting canned. We are going to be signing brand new associate and assistant head coaches. If you guys want a little bit of a cheat sheet right now, your associate coach only affects the power play. So, make sure you go after a guy who has A+ or higher. and your assistant head coach. Vice versa, only supports the PK, so go after somebody with a high plus. I don't know why I've never told that before in any one of my videos, but there it is. A cheat sheet to signing associate and assistant head coaches in NHL 26. We have $8.5 million to spend here in free agency. Don Carlson wants a one-year contract that we cannot afford. What about a veteran guy like Claude Giru? I believe Claude is French. 5.8 mil. We give him a full no movement clause. Oh my god, he does not want to be in Leorale. They kind of ends are not going after Giru. Andres Lee only one year wouldn't be bad. I don't want to be locked up long term with anybody from free agency. What about Vlatty Terasenko? Full no movement clause on a one-year contract. 3.2 one season. And then maybe another guy like Jordan Everly. Maybe Jeff Skinner. We get some like bottom six scoring. I will go 3.8. Maybe I'll go 39. 39. One season. Welcome in Coupe. Terasenko decided to accept my offer as well as Jeff Skinner. So, we went after two veteran guys that can provide some depth goal scoring to this roster. Our younger guys have gotten better. I'm going to be bumping up Ivan Demov to that top line alongside Suzuki and Cfield. Think I want Jake Evans in the top six, but Skinner, Li, and Savkovski, funny enough, fit well together. We got Galley alongside Denoa New Hook, Anderson, Evans, and Terasenko. Defensively, it'll be Mintikov and Hudson. They are going to be the defensive line for basically the entire video. We got Ghouie Kerier Strubal and then Muel Patterson, our 18-year-old Dman that we drafted in year number one. Praying that he develops into like high8s. I guess we'll find out. And then in goal, running it back with Dolby. 86 overall. Yakob Dovish at the age of 25. Not too sure how much he's going to grow. I doubt he'll ever become a 90, but 86 overall is very solid, especially for the money that he is earning right now. Ivan Demidov is the only guy that we really have to extend. I think Doby as well. Ooh, Demidov wants a massive extension. I mean, 8 years at 10 five. What if we go like six seasons? We have to go seven to add in the full no movement clause. I'm not going to be trading Ivan Demidov anyways. So, full no movement clause.
We're going to have to pay this man a lot of money, huh? This will be our big boy deal. He's going to want like north of 11 mil, huh? Oh, dear God. Do we go out on a limb and sign Demidov to this contract 11.8 over the next seven seasons? You know what? Go right ahead.
I want to lock this young man up for basically the entirety of his prime. I'm not going to give Dolby a full no movement clause, but we will give him a six-year contract on a pretty good AAV of 4.7. I'm pretty sure John Cooper is going to be the right guy to get us to a Stanley Cup final and to get the Stanley Cup in our grasp. 1993, the last time that Kenad Yens won Lord Stanley. It's been a long time, but GM Pasta and head coach John Cooper and Owen Beck the Ghost are going to get that done eventually. Emidov's going to accept my offer. He's been locked up longterm and YaKob Dobish has been extended. The core is all locked up and ready to go. It is time to start contending for Stanley Cups. If you guys are confident in my abilities to bring a Stanley Cup back to Lammo Royale, make sure to drop a like and subscribe to the channel as we head on into season number two and hopefully make the playoffs after a massively disappointing year number one. We had a muchneeded bounceback season. 53-21 and 8, 114 points on the season. Top of the Atlantic division after finishing dead last last season. What a glow up morale had. Number one team in the entire league. We now have officially the President's Trophy Curse on our side at 114 points, followed by Colorado, Anaheim, Florida, and Columbus. You're telling me the Blue Jackets were in the top five? Nick Suzuki is going to set a new careerh high, 48 goals and 103 points. Y'all had 83 in only his second full season. Coughfield's a 30 goal man.
I would like him to be around 40 to 50 pretty much every season. The dude is a legit 92 overall. There's no excuse for him not to be. Elite high potential entering his prime. Hudson had 66 on the back end. Slowsky only had 65. Jeff Skinner, oh my god. Rewind the clock, buddy. 27 goals and 64 points. You're telling me Jeff Skinner had 35 goals and 82 points in 2023? I do not remember that happening. What on earth? I guess my memor is just fading me, but damn, Skinner was a legit player in Buffalo when they almost made the playoffs back in 2023. Shout out Yakab Dovish again.
He was great. 42 wins, five shutouts, and a 919 save percentage. This is our goalender of the future. No doubt about it. Now, back-to-back years of Conor McDavid leading the way offensively, 112 points. Nate McKinnon had 108. We got Bedard at 105 in Chicago. Sizuki was solid as well as Nes and dry. And then on the goal side, Bedsy at the age of 21 will grab a Rocket Rashard trophy.
Suzuki wasn't far behind though, 48 goals. This is by far and away his best season of his career. McKinnon had 46 and Adam Fantelli officially has arrived as one of the better goal scorers in the National Hockey League. Goending wise, Blackwood leads and wins one more than Dolby at 43. Swayman had the most shut outs at nine. And we got Mackenzie Blackwood having the best save percentage at a 925. What a perfect way to start off our playoff run off against the Carolina Hurricanes, the team that completely decimated them in real life.
No, I'm serious. They controlled the entire series outside of game one. That was probably as one-sided a fivegame series could be after dropping the first game at home. They got Aaho, Jarvis, and Svetchnikov, Nikolai Eers alongside Stan Kovven and Blake. It's a solid roster, man. Top nine is solid. They even got some depth back end. Slavven and Ghost 88 and 87. And even Keandre Miller, he was huge in real life in his prime at the age of 27. And then Frederick Anderson is still their starting goalender. While Coachov's going to watch from the bench, they got a 37year-old Freddy. Come on. The Montreal Canadian should be able to score on this man. Technically in this universe, Montreal did not go on a conference finals playoff run. So this is the only experience that we're going to have outside of that fivegame domination against the Washington Capitals.
Carolina is going to be a tough team.
It'll be interesting to see how the series goes. We get a 2-1 lead entering game number four. And we go up 3 to one after dominating them 5-1. We got an opportunity to move on here. Down by one after one, down by one after two. Eight goals. No, seven goals. Math was not correct on that one. Seven goals in the game so far. Eight including Vlatty Terasenko second of the game. What a pickup in the offseason. And then Patty Lane will give the Canad Yens the lead here late in the third. We get a power play. We don't need it. 3 minutes to go.
Doby, keep us in this game, baby. There we go. The Canadians are moving on. 44 shots by Carolina. They did score four goals, but that is a 40 save performance by Yakab Dobish in a closeout game.
That's exactly what you want to see from your goalender. We are now moving on to play the Buffalo Sabres in the second round of the playoffs. Just like real life, a very solid team that took the Kennedy to a game seven in the second round. Thompson's a 91, Zack Benson they could not handle in real life. They got Krebs, Mloud, and Lera Mackey. That leans up to a 93 overall. And Owen Powers is not a bust in this universe.
Legit 90 overall Dman at the age of 24.
And they're rolling out Ukapukin and Alex Lion. No Deon Levi in sight. Maybe in the offseason could be a guy go after just in case. They always want to get rid of Deon Levi in Buffalo. Montreal is taking care of business. We get a 300 series lead entering game four in Buffalo. Down by one thanks to Danforth on Doby. But the Canadians are potentially one win away and now only one goal away from moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals. Zack Benson is going to give the Savers a lead. He gets another one to extend it. It is a Benson legacy game here in game number four. 7 minutes to go. We're trailing by two. It's not looking too hot. We are going to be headed back to the Bell Center now for game number five with an opportunity to move on. I mean, we lose four in a row. That is a historic level collapse. Luckily, we got a 3-1 lead after one. line able Duke and Cfield.
Multi-goal lead as we enter the third period. Basically controlling this series. Sabres though they're going to get back in the game. Yuri Kulock on Doby. Only a 3-2 lead now for the Habs.
Uh-oh. Power play by Buffalo. They don't get anything on it though. 5 minutes remaining in the third. Yakob Dobish and the Canadians. Hold on. No. Payton Krebs with 42 seconds remaining. We are going to have our first overtime of the entire video. Montreal is one shot away potentially from moving on to the conference finals. Benson slides it across. Tuck. Good save there, Dobish.
Amazing glove save. Now, let's be honest. There was a lot of points throughout Montreal's playoff run in real life where Yakob Dobish just stole the show and kept us in the game. Right now, we're going to need some offensive support. Mint moving up the wall now.
Pavl Mitukov finding Cole Coughfield.
He's going to rip one on net. Good save there by Lucin. Owen Power picks it up.
Here come the Sabres the other way. 1740 remaining. The shots are 3533 in favor of the Oh my god. What the hell did I just witness? That has got to be the shittiest goal I have ever seen. Nah, man. What the hell did I just witness?
Owen Power comes in. He tries to de to the middle. Lane Hudson did his job getting in front of the guy and then Doby just what? His pad was already down on the ice. How EA Sports, can you explain to me how that puck just slides underneath Dobish's bad? Why is he not in the regular butterfly? You're telling me your physics do not work? This is hands down, bar none, the shittiest goal I have ever seen an overtime winner happen in NHL 26's franchise mode. We are now literally heading to a game six because of that awful goal in overtime.
EA Sports, it's not in the game. All right, Le More Royale, we got to go back to Buffalo for game number six. I do not want to see seven, man. Not at all. Oh my god. Thompson and Mloud two nothing after one. Thankfully, we tie the game up. Phippe Deno and Jeff Skitter just do not give me overtime anymore. I I can't witness it. I really can't. If we give up a bad goal like that again, I'm going to be cooked. Matias Samuelson and then Michael Kessle Ring will extend the lead to two. The Montreal Catens. What is going on? Why are we failing so hard right now? The Buffalo Sabres have just forced a game seven after being down 3 nothing. I actually cannot believe it, man. We had a three nothing series lead, proceeded to lose three in a row, and now anything can happen in game seven.
We could lose 5 nothing. First period, we're down by two. Great. That is a perfect start to this. Oh my god, it's over. The Montreal Canadians have just collapsed miserably and got dominated 6-1 in game seven. Dudes, seriously, EA Sports, what drugs have you been smoking? What kind of crack have you invested into this sim engine? because this does not make sense whatsoever.
That's hands down the most embarrassing way to go out, becoming like the fourth team ever to blow a 3- 0 series lead.
Ultimately, Colorado will go back to back dominating New Jersey in five games. It should have been us in the cup finals. It is what it is. Individually, you bums did not show up. Ivan Demidov, he was great. Can't really complain about him. Eight goals and 17 points. Oh my god. Jeff Skinner had 16 points.
Hudson was solid. Cfield was all right.
But Suzuki, Slavovski, honestly, guys like New Hook, they did not really hold their own weight. And Yakob Dovish, he was solid. 913 save percentage at a 283 GAA. I'm not blaming this loss on him.
Although he did get lit up in game seven, let's be real. Backto-back Cups.
Suzuki is going to take home the Ted Lindsay. We got Betsy the Maurice Rashard, Connor the Art Ross, and Nathan McKinnon the heart trophy. El Mar wins the Norris, McKenna the Calder, McKinnon the K smite, Blackwood the Vzna, and the Selki will go to Conor McDavid. Seattle Kraken are going to get their hands on the number one overall draft pick. We have Johnson going number one overall to Seattle. Landon DuPont will land in Philly and then Latavius Porter with the Vegas Golden Knights. We got pick number 28 and there's not a lot of great options available. Anybody that I got scouted? Not really. What about gems? Do we have any gems? We do. An elite low two-way forward Hannon. He is NHL ready in year number two or three. Not bad. 79 overall with elite low potential. That is a very good draft pick to take in round number one, especially late in the first round. Kirby Doc is going to need to be resigned again. Skinner, I'm probably going to let walk. He's not going to have a better season than he just had. Leapo, Zack Buluke, I'll resign simply due to the fact that he's only 24 years of age. I think we got to get a little bit younger and we got to start having a clear direction that we want to head into. Like Anderson and Kier. Kerier I could bring back. He's only 30. He wants 2.6 on a three-year contract. That's a fair deal. Go bullending wise. Doy's locked up. We don't really need a backup right now.
Quinn Hughes, unfortunately, is a little bit too high of a price tag. We have 11.5 mil to go out here and grab somebody. What about a 2-year contract for Alex to Brinkat? Add in another guy that can score like 40 goals. He doesn't want to be here, though. That's the issue with his contract. McCann, no.
Mark Stone, the 35-year-old. We could give him a one-year deal. You know what?
Mark Stone wouldn't be a bad guy to bring in, at least on a one-year contract. No movement clause, obviously.
I won't be trading him for anybody. 5.5 mil. I'll go 56 just to ensure that he does sign here. And then what about Tyler Sean? Another depth guy that we add to our roster. Full no movement clause. One-year deal. 35-year-old veteran 4.6 mil on a one-year contract.
Tyler Sean is going to sign on a one-year deal and Mark Stone will accept as well. Picked up our two bigname free agents. A little bit of older guys, but again, we're going to have that salary come off the books literally next off season. This is how we balance the young talent that we have on our team as well as the veteran guys that we bring in.
Hopefully one of these seasons it will result in a Stanley Cup championship and not blowing a 3- 0 series lead. We now have Suzuki, Cfield, and Demidoff on our top line. Tyler Sean is going to be our second line center. How about Zachary Buluk? I would rather Bulldook there and then go Evans. Sean and Stone. Bump up Joshua Wah to our top six. Ooh, he does not fit there. What about Jake Evans?
Jake Evans don't fit either. Owen Beck, he's our last hope. Owen Beck does fit.
I also did resign Patty Lane, so I should probably play the guy. He'll be the winger alongside Sean and Stone. And then we'll go Evans, New Hook, and Wah.
Defensively, Lane Hudson and Pavl Mitikov. 291 overall defenseman. Gully is solid alongside Kerier. Eva Ryan Backer has jumped up to an 84. Where is our Patterson? There he is. I'm going to throw in Person. He didn't really grow.
Still a 79 overall defenseman. We got a lot of chemistry on her Dor. And offensively, I'm thinking instead of Alex New Hook or potentially Jake Evans, we bump up our young guy. Never mind, he's still in the minors. Goending wise, Jakob Dovvic has grown all the way up to an 88 overall, which is extremely solid as Montreal is starting to shape up into a championship contender. Pretty much everybody's locked up outside of Bulldog. Him and Joshua Wah both need extensions as well as David Ryan. Yeah, I do want to bring Ryan Becker back.
He's only 22 years of age. We'll sign him for two years. Can we go longer?
Maybe get him on a decent contract. What about five seasons? I really want to give this guy a deal. In real life, he's probably never going to be as good as he's going to be here in NHL 26. We could sign this guy for mid-5ives. 5.4 on a five-year contract with a no movement clause in year number five.
John Cooper did not have a great year number one, blowing a 3 0 series lead on the verge of advancing to the conference finals. Hopefully, that never happens again. I mean, it doesn't usually happen to me that often, but the Montreal Canadians are going to get back. Joshua Wah, David Rybacker has been locked up long term as we try to rebound after a pretty bad back-to-back seasons. Let's be honest, missing the playoffs and then blowing a three nothing series lead. It has not been a hot start here in lay morale. Elabu, some moves are going to have to be made. The Montreal Canadians had just missed the playoffs once again.
1.0, one point back of the Boston Bruins at 87. We had a record of 38, 33, and 11. That is now two times in three years that we failed to reach the postseason.
Shout out to the Dallas Stars. as they won the Presidents 53 wins on the season. Utah was good. Pittsburgh, what?
How the hell are the Pens actually good?
Then we got teams like Nashville and Chicago. Finally, the NHL is in a brand new era. Nick Suzuki didn't really have his best season. Only 28 goals and 79 points. Demi Doof only had 75. I do like him scoring 33 goals though. Hudson had 70. Uri hasn't really gotten any better.
Cole Cfield, that's the guy at a 93 overall. I'm probably going to move him in the offseason. hopefully get something good in return for him as Dolby puts up a solid campaign once again. 910 save percentage, three shutouts, and 33 wins. I don't know how you could ever be mad at him. He's been solid every single season, but the Canadians are just not performing the way I expected them to. Ava Passak's going to have the most points in the league at 105 and he's going to tie for the most goals alongside Miko Rantin and they would both score 61. The Edmonton Oilers will eventually go all the way defeating the Boston Bruins in six games in the Stanley Cup finals. McDavid got it done. We got Ranton and winning the Ted Lindsay. The Rocket will go to Pasta as well as the Art Ross. And the heart trophy is going to go to Noah Dobson.
Nah, there's no way EA has to be trolling right now. What on earth did Noah Dobson do this season to deserve a Nor trophy in Anaheim. Khan Smite will go to Conor McDavid. The Vzna to Jussi Soros and the Selki to Marco Rosi. This has been hands down one of the weirder simulations I've ever seen in this game.
San Jose is going to win another draft lottery and add to Mlin Celibbrini's I don't know rebuild. Like why are they not good? Celbrini literally is like a 95 96 overall. Goodbye to Eric Carlson.
One point shy of a thousand. Johnny Taves is going to retire as well as Roman Yosi, John Carlson, and Jordan Everly. I'm going to go ahead and I want to take a look at Noah Dobson. I did not even pay attention. That dude must have had an incredible season to take home the heart as well as the Norris Trophy.
Oh my god, that just does not bode well for me at all in my GM duties. 14 goals and 96 points on the back end. He's a 91 overall. Signed for 9 and a half mil over the next six seasons. Oh dear god.
Should we have just kept the guy instead? I don't even know. All right, since we missed the playoffs, we got pick number 11, which is not a bad pick to have in the first round. Could go after the top six medium sniper. He is NHL ready. Got a similar style to Meiku Kvu. So, welcome in Mallister at an 81 overall. Those guys never really develop though. That's the bad thing about them.
Once again, we are back in the resign phase. Bull Duke is up to an 85 overall.
I would like to lock this guy up. Two years of three. Nine's not bad. What about three years? He wants like four or four. We'll give him a no movement clause and we'll bump up the AAV. We have like $12 million in cap space available. I will go 4.1 on a three-year contract. Zachary Warren is the number one free agent available. We got 6.3 to work with. I wouldn't mind adding in another forward, although we already got some guys coming up, especially from the AHL. O'Reilly, one-year contract at 4.5 mil. Any good defenseman to add to our decor? What about Sandine Pelica? He's a restricted free agent, but he only wants 1.4 to sign in Moriel. We don't have to give up much. That is a qualifying offer. I'm offer sheeting him. Hell yeah. Let's get him on the Montreal Canadians. That would be a beautiful pickup for this roster and for this team that has been low-key struggling so far in the video. Oh, I think I'm going to take Braden Shen at 2.8. I don't want to spend too much money in case we have to go out and get somebody at the deadline.
Braden Shen wants a multipleyear contract, though. That's the issue. We could bring back Merrick Stone. I don't want to, though. I guess it's going to have to be Morgan Riley. Morgan Riley.
Ryan O'Reilly, you meatthead. Oh my god.
37 years of age. I will lower the AAV.
We're going to give Ryan O'Reilly a $3.9 million contract for one season. EA Sports, you guys desperately need to find a brand new system for scouting.
Why can this not all be on auto and I still have good scouts? Because if I throw it on auto, everybody's going to be unknown come the draft. Dan Dean Pelica is going to reject my offer and stay in Detroit. I guess Motor City had an under the table deal, which means we can now go back into free agency with very limited money to spend. We only have 3.4 and I want to sign somebody to a one-year contract. Actually, I think I'll keep the salary just in case.
Taylor Hall wouldn't be bad though at 36 years of age, 83 overall. He had 17 goals last season and 41 points in Carolina. Could be that third fourthline guy that we potentially need. We still have the possibility of trading Cole Caulfield before the season begins.
Mallister immediately is going to be in our top six. We get a plus five in both of our top two forward lines. Then we're going Book Lane and Hannon although they don't really fit well together. I'm going to bump up Joshua Wah. Patty Lane has what like one year left on his contract. Two years at 4.7 and he's going to play on the fourth line. Great.
Great use of that $4.7 million there.
Pasta Mintoff and Hudson 92 and 91.
Kaden Goullie is going to stay. David Rybacker 87 overall. Defensively, we've gotten a whole lot better than Yakob Dovish slightly declines back down to an 86 after missing the playoffs. That was kind of to be expected to be honest. I'm going to bump up Person and throw down struggle as we add that young guy into our DOR. Now, honestly, in a few years, like 3 4 years, we might be the best team in the NHL. Muel Person 80 overall.
He and Kier do not fit though. That line is going to get caved in at five on five. You now have pretty much everybody locked up besides Owen Beck. The core at least are signed long-term and Leorale.
It is now time to get it done and win some playoff rounds and actually make the postseason. Been a rough start here in the video. 2.3 3 years from Mel Person. Sure, that seems like a very fair contract to give him. And then Owen Beck is the other guy that I do want to sign. He's not going to want a lot. 1.7 on a 2-year contract. The Canadians are ready to begin to win. That doesn't even make any sense. We're ready to start winning is the borderline part of the video where we got to win where some people are not going to be here any longer. I'm looking at you Cole. It is time to produce. It has been a very slow start for the Habs in this video.
Hopefully year number four though is where we start to turn it around as we begin the season. 5 and one. I love it, man. That is an amazing start to the regular season. I'm not going to lie, I was very worried for Montreal not making the playoffs. We finished with a record of 45, 32 and 5, 95 points on the season. Florida also made it in with two less points than us. But this Atlantic division is so incredibly competitive, man. It's tough. Teams are just so good.
You don't know if you're going to make the playoffs every single year as the Sharks after getting that final number one overall pick. They're going to be the best team in the NHL, 53 22 and 7, followed by Utah, Ottawa, Minnesota, and Anaheim. You get Suzuki putting up 105 points, also 38 goals. Demidov had 79.
Coughfield. Honestly, I want to trade the guy so badly. He does not simulate well in this game. Only put up, I believe, 140 goal season so far in the video. Hudson's been solid. Slowsky's been okay. Ryan O'Reilly was not a bad pickup considering the dude almost put up 50 points as like a third line center. And then goalending wise, Yakob Doby, six shutouts, 919 save percentage, 33 wins, doing his job once again. I honestly can't complain. He's been solid every single season, even the years that we miss. Oh my god. Kale Mar careerhigh 24 goals and 111 points. Oh my. Kale Mar new careerh high at 111 points. Suzuki had 105. Celabbrini 97. Not a lot of guys putting up big numbers. Jeda Will Smith 41 goals 88 points. Machuck is back to being dominant. Adam Fantelli scoring 52 and leading the entire league in goal scoring. The dirt had 50. Will Smith 41. Mlin Cabbrini had 40. Miko Rantin 39. Not bad for him either. And then goending wise, we got Ascarov and Veg Mela tying for wins at 41 apiece.
And then Lucas Doel in Anaheim. 923 save percentage and 10 shut outs. Not a chance. Perfect. We got a great first round matchup against the Sabres where we can get some revenge over blowing a 300 series lead a few years ago. We already know Buffalo is a good team.
Tuck Thompson and Benson. They got Ryan Mloud alongside Burkovsky who they picked up. They also signed Brennan Gallagher to play alongside Josh Norris and Jean Gabriel Pacio. Not a bad top nine. And then defensively, Power and Delen are elite man. Owen Power, he got dropped down to an 89, but Delen is a 94 overall defenseman. And they got a 90.
Deon Levi, he's finally there ago when we played. I believe it was Ukapukin. I would argue they're an even better team than they were when they came back down 3 0, which obviously is a scary sight for us. If Buffalo is going to surpass us again and we're a first round exit, man, I mean, I got to make a big move in the offseason. We got to shake up the core here in Le Moral, we're going to split the first two games. We take a 2-1 series lead heading into game number four in Montreal. And there we go. 3-1 lead over the Sabres. Laabitans are one win away from moving on. But we got to remember last time what happened when we had the Sabres on the ropes. There it is. 3 nothing first period. 4-1 after two. We're getting dominated again. Oh my god, man. It's like deja vu. I'm literally feeling deja vu right now.
Instead of a 3- 0 series lead, we had a 3-1 lead. And now Buffalo's potentially one win away from forcing a game seven back on home ice. We get a 1-1 tie entering the third. Lane Hudson and Andre Burkovski. Doy's been solid, but we need our forwards to step up.
Coughfield, Suzuki, Slowski, Ivan Deinov, one of those big dogs. Got to wake up here in the third and score a goal. Otherwise, we might be cooked.
Four minutes remaining here in the third. Getting outshot 41-27. and Urai Slevkovski is going to get a late one on Devin Levi and that will send the Habs off to round number two. We now move on and play the Columbus Blue Jackets who at this point in time, I mean outside of Zach Worinsky, they probably Okay, I forgot about Fanty. My bad. And Johnson's an 88, they have Veronica at an 87. It's a solid roster. I would argue though, oh my god, they don't even have Winsky anymore. It's Matte Chuck and a 39year-old Drew Dowy. Meanwhile, Skinner and Graves are their two starters. Greavves. Graves. It don't matter. He's getting lit up. Either him or Stu, whoever they end up starting, they are going to get absolutely peppered by Lehabans. We are going to go up three to2 up against Columbus. We got them on the brink of elimination entering game number six. Two-1 lead after one, Ryan Backer and Suzuki, but we're trailing as we enter the third. It is a 4-3 lead for Columbus on home ice.
Ryan O'Reilly, the veteran guy that I signed, is going to come up big in this big moment. Man, I don't want to go to a game seven. We know anything can happen.
Usually it's against me. Also, in a game seven, the sim engine tends to not be on my side. But here in game number six, we are going to head to overtime. We got some overtime here in the postseason.
Not too much of this so far in the video, mainly due to the fact that we have not been a good team. But here we are, one to win away from potentially the conference finals once again. Last time out, it was the Buffalo Sabres coming back. We only have a 3-2 series lead this time. Let's see if we can finish off the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road here in game six. We got our top line. Demi off Suzuki and Cawfield.
Cole's potential future with Laymore Real is on the line. Lane Hudson though.
There it is. Head fakes and crossovers and a massive slapshot. Wait, what? Why did the screen just cut to black randomly? Regardless, the Montreal Canadians are headed to the conference finals, baby. That was so weird.
Honestly thought the game crash, but thankfully it did not. And now we are in the conference finals up against the juggernaut that is the Florida Panthers.
The Panthers in 2029 should be a little bit worse. They still got Reinhardt, Barkov and Kachchuck or Hehaggy and Lundelle. Dan Bennett's their third line center, but Brad Marshon completely washed up. Jones is up there at a 91.
Forsling is still amazing at an 89. So their decor is still somewhat solid. And then in goal, they're running out Pota Coach from Carolina. I guess they signed the guy 84 overall. He's on a one-year contract at 3.6. I think the Kennedy have a better team. Although this forward core absolutely scares me. The Montreal Canadians are an absolute wagon. We're going to sweep Florida in four games. Definitely did not see that coming as we move on to the Stanley Cup finals up against the Dallas Stars. I also stand corrected. John Cooper was the guy. It's a great top line of Miko Rantin, Rope Hint, and Jason Robertson a 96, 88, and 90. We got Emil Heinman up to an 88 overall alongside Johnston and Maverick Bourke. Amazing top six. They don't have the greatest depth though.
Icekin and Harley basically a better version of Mintikov and Hudson. They also have Essa Lindell sitting at an 87 overall and they have the better goalender. There's no really way around it. Jake Andrew is a legit elite 90 overall net minder rocking a 927. He's better than Dolby. Although I still believe the Montreal Canadians can win this series. Now canadens officially have two opportunities to win the Stanley Cup. One in Dallas on the road in game six and then hopefully we don't have to go to a game number seven. Well, we might have to. Bourc, Harley, and Bourke. It is a four nothing lead after two and a 71 stomping in game number six. Come on, man. EA, what are we doing? There's no way the Dallas Stars should simulate like that. Especially when we have the opportunity to win the Stanley Cup. We got straight up belted and now we have to go to a game number seven. Do or die. It all comes down to this. A fourgoal lead in the third period. We got goals from Ghoulie, Cfield, O'Reilly, Slavovsky, and now Ivan Deminov putting the icing on the cake. We got dominated in game six.
Maybe that was the best thing to ever happen to us. It would wake us up for this do or die game seven. Putting the entire history of this video on the line and we come through. They will finally get it done after disappointment after disappointment. Montreal is going to be Stanley Cup champions as we defeat the Dallas Stars in game seven on home ice in the Bell Center. I got to be honest, I was a little bit worried, especially after we got absolutely pounded. What was it like 7-1, I think, in game six.
It was an utter embarrassment, but we might have needed that. We might have needed to get our asses kicked. So, we responded that well in a game seven, dominating them. Nick Suzuki wins the K Smmith, nine goals and 30 points in the playoff run so far. That is absolutely outstanding. He wears the C for a reason. I didn't trade him either. I know Habs fans are going to get upset in the comments. Oh, you traded away my own precious Nick Suzuki. Listen, I'm going to do what I need to do to bring a Stanley Cup back to Canada, back to Leorale. And that is exactly what I did.
I didn't have to make too many moves. I trusted the process here in the Halves.
Thought about trading Cole Cfield. That never came to fruition. And now the Montreal Canadians are Stanley Cup champions.
Suzuki was outstanding. 30 points in 23 games, also nine goals. Cfield had 24 and 10, Demi Dov 20, Lane Hudson had 20, Mintov 20. We had a lot of guys step up and chip in where they had to. And then Yakob Dobish 164 and three. Didn't have a single shut out, but didn't need it as he rocked a 925 save percentage. This dude has been so consistent throughout this video. He had a rough uh round number one against the Washington Capitals in real life, but his in his two playoff runs, 12 and 23 games, he had a 914 and then a 925. Regular season wise, it did not matter if we missed the playoffs or not. This dude was consistently good. Now, ain't that a beautiful sight to see. Nick Suzuki will take home the Ted Lindsay, the hard Art Ross, and Norris will go to Kale Mar while the Rocket heads to Adam Fantelli's house. Shores is going to win the calder. We got Suzuki, the Consmite, the Lucas Doell, obviously the VZNA after the season he just had, and then the Selki will go to McDavid. Absolutely beautiful.
