This video covers key Grade 11 Maths Literacy concepts including dependent variables (values that depend on another variable), fixed expenses (expenses that remain constant), observation as a research method (carefully watching and recording behavior), scatter plots (graphs for comparing relationships between variables with no obvious pattern), gross income calculation (adding all income sources), UIF (Unemployment Insurance Fund), and net income calculation (gross income minus total deductions).

Grade 11 Maths Literacy | June Exam Paper 1 2026 - Question 1 | All Topics covered追加:
Hello guys.
In this video we are going to work on question one, right?
So we are going to work on question one.
So let's work on question one.
And once we are done with question one, you guys will let me know if you want question two. So if you want question two, just comment down below.
Right? So this is question one as we prepare for our upcoming examinations.
So this is the question paper that we are going to be working on, right? As we prepare for our upcoming examination. So if you want question two, you will just comment question two on the comment section. Okay? So here we are told that various options are provided as possible answers to the following questions. Choose the answer and write only the letter A to D next to the question numbers.
So we have question 1.1.1.
Question 1.1.2.
Question 1.1.3.
Question 1.1.4.
So we are told that a variable whose values depend on the values of another variable.
Um a variable whose values depend on the value of another variable. So that's a dependent variable, right? So a dependent variable would depend on an independent variable. So it would depend on the values of another variable, which may be an independent variable. So the correct answer will be will be C.
And then next, we will move to question 1.1.2, which is that expresses expenses that state that stay that same.
So it's basically expenses that stay that stay the same amount every month.
So, these are expenses that do not change, right? So, if something is not changing, it means that it is fixed, right? So, if something is not changing, it means that it is fixed. So, our answer will be Our answer will be A.
Okay? And then next, we will move to question 1.1.3.
We will move to question 1.1.3.
So, question 1.1.3 says that um conducting conducting research by carefully watching So, watching is basically observing, right? So, if we are watching, it means that we are observing.
So, they are saying that conducting um conducting research by carefully watching and recording behavior or some characteristics.
So, we can see that this is not an interview, and it is not a questionnaire. [snorts] It's watching, right? It's observing. So, the correct answer should be B.
Which is observation.
Observation. So, the correct answer should be should be B.
Okay? And then next, we will move to question 1.1.4.
So, question 1.1.4 says that this type of graph is useful for comparing the type of relationship that exist between two different variables or quantities for which no obvious pattern is visible. So, no obvious pattern is visible. So, that type of a graph is called a It's called a scatter plot, right?
It's called a scatter plot.
So, the correct answer will be will be C.
Okay? And then now, we can move to our next set of questions.
Okay? So, don't forget, guys, that if you want me to continue with question two, you can just comment down below and say question two.
And then I will record another video covering question two. So, in this video, I'm only going to be covering question one.
Okay?
So, now we are going to move to question 1.2.
So, question 1.2 says that um Z5Z computers, right? So, we are given the name. So, we are given Z5Z computers.
And we are given the employee name. So, this is the employee name, which is Mr. AB um Comb Brink.
Mr. AB Comb Brink. We are given the ID number, the employee number, and the occupation. So, Mr. AB Comb Brink works as a sales manager.
And then so, we can basically see that this is a payslip, right? That's why they are saying that this is the payment period of 1 October to the 31st of October 2023.
And we can see that we have our income and then we also have our deductions.
So, now we need to use this salary slip above to answer the questions that follows.
So, we need to use this slip to answer the questions that follows. So, we'll start with question 1.
2.1.
>> [cough] [clears throat] >> So, question 1.2.1 says that um calculate Mr. Comb Brink's gross income.
So, this is the gross income, right?
So, we can see that the gross income is not given. So, we need to calculate it. So, how do we calculate it? We calculate it by adding both our incomes. So, we are going to add um 14,000 and we're also going to add 11,500.
So, if we add the two, so 14,000 plus 11,500, this will give us 25,500.
So, our gross income will be equals to 25,000 500.
Right?
So, that's our gross income. It's 25,000 500. And then next, we'll move to question 1.2.2.
So, question 1.2.2 says that UIF stands for So, what does UIF stand for?
So, we know that UIF stands for Unemployment Insurance Fund.
So, it stands for Un- Unemployment Insurance Fund. So, which option will that be?
It will be option B, right?
So, the correct answer will be option B.
>> [cough] >> And then next, we will move to question 1.
2.3.
Question 1.2.3 says that name the income paid to the employee after all the deductions have been made.
So, that type of the income is called the net income.
Net income.
Right? And then to get our net income, we take our gross salary, which is 25,500, and subtract our total deductions, which is 5,000 500.
And then if we do that, we will get our net income of 20,000.
Okay? So, that brings us to the end of question one.
Guys, if you want me to continue to question two, please comment question two down below.
And then I will record another video on question two. And also make sure that you subscribe to the channel so that when I post question two, um you can get the notification that I have posted it.
Okay?
