Today we've gathered here again for the last and closing day of the third edition of the Pjuru Cultural Festival.
This is a moment of reflection and celebration.
We've spent the last two days immersed in the vibrant celebration of our rich culture.
We've shared the stories, songs, dances, and traditions that binds us together as a community.
Thus, this festival is not just an event. It is a heartfelt expression of who we are.
It is a testament to our resilience, our unity, and our shared dreams for the future.
As we draw this festival to a close, let us take a moment to celebrate its purpose.
The PJU cultural festival is a platform for showcasing our heritage, honoring our ancestors and celebrating the customs that have been passed down through generations.
But most importantly, it is a space where we cement our unity as people of Fjulu and advocate for peaceful coexistence among neighboring communities and strengthen the national fabric.
Your Excellency, over the past two days, we have witnessed remarkable displays of talent and creativity.
The performance we have enjoyed have not only entertained us but have also educated us about our history and values.
From traditional dance to the unique crafts that tell the stories of our people.
Every aspect of this festival has been a celebration of heritage.
We have seen enthusiasm of our youth, the wisdom of our elders and the participation of our entire community.
This is a true testament to the spirit of Fjulu.
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the success of this festival.
The organizing committee and the execution of a cultural event of this magnitude is no small feat.
It requires dedication, hard work and collaboration.
For that I extend my deepest gratitude to the members of the organizing committee starting from my deputy chairin, the secretary general Nelson Ladu, all the heads of the different subcommittees starting from logistics and procurement, reception and protocols, health, safety and environment, catering and services, quality assurance and most important of all, all the security committee for they have kept us all safe day and night for the past two days and they are still continuing to do so as I'm speaking right now. Plus all the other volunteers who poured their hearts into making this festival a success.
Your commitment and teamwork have made a significant impact. Let us give a round of applause to everyone involved in the organization of discipline.
Moreover, I wish to honor our elders, the custodians of our culture who have guided us through this journey. Starting from the training sessions up until today, your wisdom is a beacon of our community. You have nurtured our traditions and instilled in us the importance of our culture.
We owe much of our strength and unity for your unwavering commitment to preserving our identity.
Thank you for being the pillars of our community and for passing down the invaluable lessons that shapes our lives.
Your Excellency, I would also like to register my sincere gratitude to all the invited communities.
They came to celebrate with us.
Yesterday we've had the Larin community, the Mundare community, the Toposa community, the Nepo community of Kajiki, the Atar community, the Madi community and the newer community and all the other communities that I might not mention because of time.
We are forever grateful for your presence and coloring our cultural festival.
As we conclude this festival, let us carry forward the spirit of togetherness and celebration. Let us remember the connections we have forged, the friendship we have rekindled and the memories we have created over the past few days and we will continue to create.
Each moment we shared has added a beautiful threat to the fabric of our community.
Let these memories inspire us to continue celebrating our culture not just during the festival but throughout the year.
Let us advocate for our traditions, educate our future generations, and embrace our rich heritage with pride.
Looking ahead of us, let us also recognize the challenges they have faced. Together, we can and overcome these obstacles by harnessing the strength of unity and collaboration. We must continue to support one another and work together towards a brighter future for the Pjulu community, the central Equatoria and South Sudan at large.
In conclusion, your excellency, I extend my headfel gratitude to each and every one of you for your presence today. Your participation and your enthusiasm during this festival. Your support is invaluable and is a clear sign that our culture is alive and flourishing.
