Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measures the tiny changes between heartbeats and serves as an indicator of the nervous system's ability to adapt between stress and recovery states; higher HRV indicates greater adaptability and resilience, while lower HRV suggests the body is stuck in a stress response, potentially leading to burnout, anxiety, poor sleep, and increased cardiovascular risk.

HRV and the Nervous System ExplainedAdded:
heart rate variability. This is the metric that we use within the tests and things like that, right? So, it predicts resilience. We've all seen like, you know, your Apple Watch, your Aura rings that you wear, it's using that same mechanism. So, it's measuring the variables, the highs and lows within when your heart beats. So, more variation means your system is very adaptable. You can go from the stressful situations to the non-stressful situations pretty easily, which we [music] want. We want to be able to adapt to stress and our nervous system to be able to signal, "Hey, that was scary. Hey, nope, I'm good." We don't want a stressful situation to have us stuck in that state, right? And be be left there. The less variation means that you're stuck in that stress mode.
So, low heart rate variability, that's when we're seeing things like burnout, anxiety, stress, >> [music] >> poor sleep, high inflammation, increased cardiovascular risk because we're also not sleeping well, which means we're not healing well, recovering well.
