In Buddhism, letting go is not about losing or being indifferent, but about releasing fear-based attachments to gain inner peace and wisdom; it involves understanding that clinging to identities, possessions, and outcomes creates suffering, while compassion for oneself and others, combined with accepting impermanence, leads to true freedom and enlightenment.

Reverently I persuade my body, speech and mind and present clouds of every type of offering actually offered to mentally transformed. I confess all my negative actions accumulated since time and rejoice the virtues of all holy beings. Please remain until samsar ends and turn the will of dharma for beings.
I dedicate all the virtues of others and myself to the great enlightenment the heart sutra. Thus have I heard once the blessed one was dwelling in Raja adulture pig mountain together with great gathering of saf monks and a great gathering of sabhas. At that time the blessed one entered the sumi that expresses the tama called profound illumination and at the same time this way of nation.
How should a son or daughter of noble family train who wishes to practice a profound question? Address in this way.
should see this way. Signifies can be empty of nature. Form is emptiness.
Emptiness also is form. Emptiness is no other than form. Form is no other than emptiness. In the same way, feeling, perception, information, and consciousness are emptiness. Thus, all damas are emptiness. There are no characteristics. There is no birth and no sensation. There's no impurity and no purity. There's no increase. Sarra in emptiness. There is no form, no feeling, no perception, no formation, no consciousness, no eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind, no appearance, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no damas, no eye up to no mind, no of damas, no mind consciousness, no ignorance, no end, no up to no O and death, no end of O and death, no suffering, no original suffering, no sensation of suffering, no path, no wisdom, no attainment, and no nonattainment. Therefore, since the police of us have no attainment, they abide by means of prashna parameter.
Since there's no obscation of mind, there is no fear. They transcend forcity and attain complete nana. All the Buddhist suffered three times by means of prashna parameter fully awaken to unsurpassed hope through true complete enlightenment. Therefore, the great mantra parameter, the mantra of great insight, unsurpassed mantra, unequal mantra, the mantra that comes all suffering should be known as truth. This is no deception. The parameter mantra is in this way.
She train.
Then the blessed one arose to praise Noah Mahas saying good oh son of family. Oh son of family. Once you practice just as you have taught and all the will rejoice when the blessed one had said this and the sabah the whole assembly and all of his gods human azuras and gatherers rejoice and praise the words of the blessed one. Okay, we'll take a break here. All right, thank you Anila for leading us in the uh praise before teaching. So before we begin uh let us uh take a look at some of the announcements.

Okay let's all greet good evening.
So good good evening.
Then uh tonight's uh topic that I've uh going to speak about is uh letting go is not losing.
Of course there are many different aspect to this point about letting go.
Um the last teaching I did say about uh many people uh like to tell me this uh like to tell me their reason why they are like that.
Okay. And and even though it is understandable whatever your reason may be is actually very scary. That means you have refused to let that part of you uh either you want to use the word die or let that part of you uh decompose and then become a fertilizer for you to grow further, stronger, deeper and uh wiser.
Uh I have in the last teaching give uh example of uh there are some people who say that uh you know we are ka people, we are uh amo people, we are this, we are that or you know or we are Hawin people or we are Hainanese, we are haka, we are Cantonese, we are so on and so forth. So therefore our style is like that and our the way we think the way we talk may be like that you know uh so it's understandable to say that you know oh because you are born here and you you're born in that family that that group that dialect group and this and that so therefore everybody like that is is as such as I want to say again uh in the in uh as in the last last class that I was saying you know that it really shows that one has not digested the teaching of the Buddha right is it's the same as saying to me when I hear these kind of things is the same as hearing you know sufu I'm a samsaric being so therefore I can never be I I I I hear the teaching of Buddha, but I'm still samsara and I choose to identify with samsara. I choose to identify with uh uh the habits and the belief system of samsara.
So this is what I'm hearing actually right. Even though we may say that we are uh we are Buddhist uh we say that uh we we We learn, we practice, we may become monk or none, we may become we may possess a lot of experience and name fame, whatever.
But what what it really sounds like is honestly um scary because it shows that we are not willing to break through yet.
Okay. And so but so what I want to say is this is that sooner or later we will be forced to break through and that sooner or later is when this body is time to die.
Right?
Then you cannot identify first as being alive. Second you cannot identify as being a man or woman.
Right.
Third, you cannot identify yourself as as uh being with a particular uh clan or tribe and so on and so forth.
And so therefore uh it's it's really something that we suffer from.
Okay? Even though frankly speaking it's easy to talk about letting go. It's easy to talk about uh talk about many things in fact.
Right?
But what and so and so what is it that we are what is it that we are we are that what is it that is causing us to be like that?
Uh the truth is fear.
I rather have I rather have a bad identity rather than the no identity. This is what many people believe, choose to believe, right? Okay. Because you we all grow up as a child and towards teenager and saying that who am I? What am I?
Isn't it? Who am I? What am I?
What is the purpose of my life? What is the meaning of my life? We have all asked ourselves this question.
And the truth is with the burden of life, we just grow old but not necessarily wiser or more awakened.
Just grow old and still behaving like the unhappy child that we clung on to as a uh during our childhood.
And it it is very natural for you, me, everybody.
Okay? Because because of uh whatever that has manifested as our karma together, right? Like uh what will be maybe in front of me will be Yongen, right? his story about how when I got first got to know him, he was telling me his story. It's very difficult story. I I I hear it's unbelievable difficult.
All right. Chinese New Year, his father was pray setting the table to to pray to pray to to God on the ninth day of the 8th day night or know Hawin people pray to heaven, right? Yeah. his father got uh got shot dead by by a burglar, right? And it was it would be so difficult for him. So I can imagine the the trauma he had and what how how his mother suffer, how he they suffer, right?
And so there I knew uh I went to his his house.
He his mother called me Saikong, right?
And and it is not in a bad way. It really means that you are teacher and and like a grandfather you know or maybe somebody today would translate as oh teacher or the wise one right so we will see oh very difficult it's very difficult situation this difficult situation is so is this kind of karma that happen is not say do one or two times Chanting can heal, isn't it? It's not a matter of doing some chanting can heal. It takes also uh the activity of deep reflection, okay, to develop loving kindness, right?
And also to and also to think about what happened to what happened in his past life that happened this thing happened in this life and then what is going to happen with whatever activity he has done in this life. What might happen in a future life?
What might happen in the future life?
Let me tell you it's all dependent on your motive today. Every day is a today.
You must remember this. Whatever you can do with the motivation to generate your motive to to become enlightened, to awaken. So as you can help yourself and you can you can pull yourself out of the mud and you can uh develop others. I don't want to use the word you can save other beings from the suffering because we we we really cannot be saviors.
We really cannot be saviors. It's like um somebody if somebody were to ask you for advice and then you insist that person must listen to the way you say because you know that it is the best for him.
Yes, maybe you are right.
But you must we must also understand one karma is this karma is that person won't listen to won't listen to anybody right or maybe if that person listen that person won't do so like for example um the other day uncle was saying oh I now see the power of of uh Vadra speech. I say why? He said I've been saying the same thing that you said to that person for the past past five years.
But the person didn't dare to come see you. But the moment that person come and see you, you say the same thing immediately the person did and and overcame the the the situation.
So he said that oh really guru you are very powerful.
The truth is I said my respond was this don't say that this is only your assumption and your good merit to see that oh your guru has very has very powerful speech. The truth may be for the past five years you keep on giving advice giving a plant already plant the seed plant the seed for the past five years for the past five years you keep on giving good advice you keep on trying to shape that person's way of thinking and then at that at that moment everything click.
So nobody should belittle anybody to say that oh you are you are not a great practitioner you are not you are not the sulfu not the rama not the gishi not the llama not the monk not the nun and this and that it should we should not think like that everybody's activity will leave a deep blessing imprint especially if you have a good motivation to do something to help other to help yourself and then can help can help other people and so what is help does not mean I do this thing for you help means I'm here I didn't run okay I see you I hear you I cannot change you but I'm I'm here to support when you need support.
Okay.
It's like many years ago there also have students who like to vent their anger on social media till now still have so many different right then I said you think about it is it is it kind is it necessary right good things takes so long time to spread One negative one negative input you know will trigger everybody's bad karma. And the truth is everybody's bad karma is the power is so strong.
All it take is somebody to to malign somebody, right? And then everybody will believe everybody will believe the fake story, right?
eating.
All right. So, so truly we must think is it kind?
Is it necessary?
Is it true? Okay. And do you believe?
Do you believe?
All right. And so whatever we hold tight, whatever we hold tight, who suffer?
Whatever we hold tight to something, who suffer? Where where is the suffering?
Where's the suffering?
Huh?
Not hate heart tired is it also take a lot of energy to keep the anger going you know take a lot of energy to keep the anger going. So what is vajayana? Vagina means it take a lot of energy to keep the anger going. At the same time, it means you also have to you also can have the same habit to try to keep the energy to keep marriage going.
For example, many people like to say, "Oh, guru, I'm sorry. I I didn't I didn't uh keep my my vows and prayers to to to keep my prayers un unbroken.
I said you don't have to say sorry. It's your choice.
It truly is your choice.
All right. Why some people take hours to finish their their prayer?
Frankly speaking these days when we do prayer we also we also look at social media right WhatsApp messages emails and so on and so forth everything is here to to tell you uh this other thing is more important but actually the truth is during the time of prayer prayer. Your prayer time is the best time you spend time with yourself because we always spend time with other people. Spend time with boss, spend time with uh colleagues, spend time with this, spend time with that, with your spouse, with your partner, with your children, with your parents, with this and that. But so during your prayer time is the time you spend time with yourself.
If you don't spend if you don't choose to see that your prayer time is to spend time with yourself, you will always feel not enough of everything. Everything that you have also not enough.
All right? So we cling on because we have so much of fear. We cling on because we have so much of uh wanting to keep things in control. Correct?
We want to keep things in control.
Imagine you we we put a a seed on the in a pot of wet soil and then you do all you can to keep that seed in control not to not to germinate and not to grow.
Then truly that is the way to suffer.
when the conditions are there whatever will grow will grow.
Okay. So some some good karma things happen not because of current good karma. Similarly some some negative things also happen not because of bad not because of current bad karma.
Okay. So, so our idea of wanting to keep things under control very frankly speaking comes from our own growing up. Our parents, our teachers wanted to keep us under their control. And so therefore this control, this control really becomes later on develops into a sense of ego and identity.
Right?
For example, some people would some people will say, "Oh, Ramuchi is very kind. Everything explains slowly this and that." Some people say Ramuj is very very direct, right? Rama will say say things directly to the point and and this and that. This is also that person's karma that that person uh that person habit.
For example, if you have daughter, maybe daughters will choose to see oh parents are tired, parents are difficult. So therefore maybe they they they score.
If it's a son, the son will will retaliate and scold their parents back.
All right? If it's a son, the son will retaliate and scold the parents back.
Oh, who do you think you are? Why you think why you why you say this and do this and so on and so forth. So rebelliousness is also learned from parents, right? Like I said, we we grow up we grow up copying our parents.
We didn't grow up learning from teachers.
We only learn concept from teachers.
Right? So the other one is um uh people ask me say what is the best way to teach other beings?
What is the best way to teach other beings? Say the best way to teach other beings is not to teach them.
Okay. The best way to teach all beings is not to teach beings. The best way to teach beings is to connect with all beings.
How to connect with all how what what happened to what happened to the children who later grow up to become men and woman?
What happened to them? Why why why did the woman become like that? And when did the men become like that?
You want to know? Okay.
woman to to be able for them to identify and talk with you. Not talk to you but talk with you is you have to make them feel feel and experience your being with them.
Okay. Why? Because women really crave when they are children crave their mother or the parents attention.
Okay.
Men to let them have the experience and so on and so forth is for them to be able to do something to prove their worth.
You know why is that for men?
Okay, for men is to talk numbers with them. Talk how to achieve this, how to achieve that, how to do this, how to do that, how you can be efficient and this and that. Why? Because when they were little boys, they always told to faster, must be productive, must be efficient, must be this, must be that.
So the little boy grow up. I have to be a good boy. I have to make mommy happy.
I have to make father happy. I have to this. I have to that.
Right. So to connect to all sensient beings is to understand how these beings grew up.
Okay. How sensient beings, how these little children were when they were growing up and not judge them for what they are today.
Today they are stuck. Stuck at a time where when they were all growing up when they cannot break through they stuck and their personality become like that. And when the personality becomes so and so forth, something happens. They fear impermanence.
Even though they wish that they can have a breakthrough and move on, but they fear impermanence. They don't want anything to change. So it is a oxymoron situation.
They want to move on, but they don't want to move on.
So that's why the best thing is when people ask you question and this and that is it's very important to say what is it that you want because nobody has ever asked them what what do you want it's always about see what father want what mother want what what uh Gishila want what Anila want what what Rambo want what Sufo want what other people want isn't it What husband want? What wife want? What children want? What? But nobody ever asked them what what do you want?
Let me ask you a question.
If I give you if I let you have a choice of a animal to chase you for 24 hours.
Okay.
After that, I'll give $15 million.
What animal will you choose?
>> Huh?
>> Snail.
>> Huh?
>> Bisa.
What else? Come, come, come, come. Let's use this as discussion.
give you let's say $100 million for animal to chase you for 24 hours, what animal will you choose?
>> Polar bear.
>> Cola bear. Okay. Do you know cola bear can run quite fast?
>> Huh? If they feel they they feel threatened about everything, they can sprint, you know. They can sprint, but of course only for a short short sprint.
What else?
>> Huh?
>> Fish. Fish chase you 24 hours. Your next life become fish.
Huh? What else? Huh?
>> Capiara. Capibara won't bother to chase you.
Then >> sloth. Okay. Very clever. What else?
Huh?
Huh?
I can't hear.
>> Goose.
Goose.
Oh, goose chase you 24 hours. You are finished, my dear.
Huh?
24 >> 24hour I actually meditated on this question you know and I got the answer for myself pastor pastor I want to hear your answer what is your Sir cockroach.
I know I need love lizard.
>> Huh?
Animal.
>> Animal. Animal.
Animal is living being what?
Living being broader category. Human being also animal. Huh?
Anyway, what's your answer?
You got a lot of uh you you think you can think very far. Very white one.
Emo drink alone.
>> Dog chase you for 24 hours. Oh my god.
Huh?
rabbit.
I thought about my answer. Finally, I I think I meditated for for five minutes. Then I got I got my answer very confidently. I say I know.
You know what is it? And it's animal, right?
end anymore, right? I'm I'm much bigger than the end, right? I just take something to they can continue to chase me.
So I I I was thinking like that ends and after 24 hours I get 15 or 100 million, right? So did you think of end? Huh? uh a good if you think of n good right so the whole idea is don't think out of the box you just need to know there's no box you see because your our understanding of animal is like big animal but for God small animal realm Maybe good to throw some lizards and lizards and cockroaches around, right? And those who scared lizard will scream. Those who scared the cockroach will scream also, right? Yeah. So the this is the whole this is the whole idea. Okay. So many some people say let go.
Letting go is very bad. It means you are indifferent. Letting go means you don't care.
No, I feel letting go is really about mutual respect.
Right? Of course it can be it can be expressed as many people who are not spiritually maybe mature they will probably say I ask you come you don't come okay or care go don't care right and do we think that that is letting go no okay maybe for some of People who got relative that passed away suddenly it really means they have there is no choice about the karma. It's time to they they also don't know whether it's time to go but they they went they left right yeah like uh Uncle Jimmy's father ride bicycle he ride bicycle in a wooden box behind and sell fish for a living soul fish for a living right and his father suddenly got high blood pressure burst and he died yeah so he had to stop school. I went to work in the graveyard to learn how to to to paint the tombstone, cut grass and and for the brothers to and sister to study, go to the cemetery to pick the unburnt candles home to light it up to study, right?
So if you do not know each other's life story, their childhood difficulty, oh you don't know how people suffer in the past, right? Because he lived next to the cemetery.
Yeah. So father suddenly died, some husband suddenly died, right? Some some people's mother just left the child in the car and the child saw the mother just walk away like that and never came back.
Right? So many people say let go let go let go of let okay it's easy but the main thing is let's have mutual respect to karma and to themsel maybe they got their maybe they they didn't have a choice maybe they got their own reason but maybe your the the wife left you maybe your husband left you for whatever the reason.
Instead of struggling to to let go is we change it to mutual respect because there's such a thing called when karma finish people will just disappear and don't come don't turn up don't show up don't contact that's it come finish.
Right.
Isn't it right?
So, so the point about about ourself, how do we deal with The suffering we experience when people go is to have compassion for ourself.
And because we have always never received compassion from others or we feel we never receive enough compassion from others because we have mistaken kindness from others and compassion from others.
Okay. Kindness and compassion is very different. Kindness is come from somebody who believe they are truly existent who give to other beings who believe that they are also truly existent. That means there's a real sense of I and you. So kindness I give you, I share with you, I tell you, I give you information. I hear this. So I'm making sure you know. So there's a I and you. Compassion has no I and you.
Compassion is just like the sun shining down. The sunshine of the sheep and the sun shine on the lotus flower. Same sun, same amount of light, same UV, same same heat, same strength. Isn't it? Okay. The sun doesn't bother if you don't like the sun. The sun also don't bother if you like the sun. He will just give the heat, give the light, give the UV and whether is or lotus will still get the same light in that way. That is like compassion even with judgment even without appreciation the son still do the same thing. So similarly letting go has letting go and respecting them is a kind is a kind of compassion for others and ourself without clinging to ourself our past and for them and their result.
Because clinging is we want a particular result like father and mother argue the child and the father and mother want to leave one of them want to leave the child feel the responsibility please don't go please don't go and they want to save their the the family together Right?
Because the child has so much fear and clinging and so therefore they want the particular result. But karma make impossible.
Karma make there is divorce, there's breakup, even friendship also finish or even business partnership also finish. Even even people who even even dharma brother sister also finish right. Even parent and children relationship also finish right relationship with family or or or clan also finish right whether it's just a matter of how it finish.
So it's about other is about compassion and and clinging.
Okay. Compassion and kindness. So big difference, right? So ordinary people talk about kindness. In Buddhism is we talk about compassion, right? We need to experience the compassion.
We need to experience the same amount of compassion that we feel we can give to other beings.
If you feel you can be this amount of compassion for others, you should also give the same amount of compassion to yourself because no, you cannot control other people to be compassionate to you.
You cannot.
That's why the result is many people choose to do one thing say you know what they do now a a bit getting old already they they lie flat tonging all right they lie flat and then uh stay at home like a depression don't know what to do they feel very lost they feel this and that that's that's because because of clinging not because of compassion. They need to give that compassion for themsel to themsel.
Okay. So when you can give compassion for others, you can also give compassion to yourself. And when you experience your own compassion to yourself truly then it becomes a transforming your attachment of giving to others into wisdom. You are still giving compassion but this time you give compassion but you receive your own compassion.
This is called Chinese say experience some compassion that you always wish to receive but because you always wish to receive compassion so therefore you always give compassion to other people. Correct? Right. We always we always wish to receive compassion because let's say we always got scolded or always got beaten as a child. So as a grownup we always want to give love, give kindness, give time, give smile, give everything correct or not. Right?
But no amount of giving this will make you feel inside feel fulfilled and happy.
You need to transform that giving to receiving also because you must remember receiving is also generosity not just giving.
For example, you imagine let's say a very rich person offer me or offer me a big meal.
Okay. And he goes to a a restaurant to eat a meal.
So I receive, right? I receive.
But it may be kindness from the rich person.
But what if a poor person offer me a meal across the street at a at a local coffee shop with with a simple meal, a three or four dollar meal, right? And so then I I don't want to receive.
I say I don't want. And what will happen?
Right? So I receive the generosity of the rich person but I don't want to receive the the offering or present of of meal from a poor person. Then that is not generosity.
Why? Because that person didn't this is the thing. What is this generosity about? is to let that person experience the feeling of being able to share and offer.
Okay. So, generosity is not just in giving. Generosity is also in receiving.
Please all of us must remember that when people offer you something, it is an offering. For example, why do Chinese put money offering during Chinese New Year where they put it inside a a red packet?
Why?
Huh?
I I can't hear you.
Become judgmental of the amount. Okay.
In a simple way of saying means you are receiving an offering. You're not receiving the amount of money. It is not monetary but it's a offering because inside there may not necessarily be money. It can be one candy like I I receive a lot uh is a candy. It is some is rice. It is some is a letter. Yeah.
There's no money inside. is just whatever they can they can give, right?
But actually, do you know what is the meaning of of why the offerings have a red dot and and you're giving red packet to people?
Do you know what's the real meaning?
You don't know.
Huh?
Seriously, you don't know?
Really?
I think for Chinese people when they make offering everything they wrap in red paper, put cut a piece of red paper or they dab everything in a red color, right?
What does that mean? That means blood that means sacrifice.
Okay. Similarly, when the parent give the children on uh during Chinese New Year this this red packet, it means I am sacrifice. This is my sacrifice for you.
This it this is a sacrifice sacrificial offering so that wish you to be good.
That's why it's in bright red. It's the color of fresh blood, right? Got anything Okay. This is the real meaning. It means sacrifice.
Okay. So please remember this. This is the real meaning.
Yeah. So similarly when we are we are p cultivating Buddhism in this path we will definitely ex have ex many explosion of one of this thing is called emotion.
Okay emotion. So what what to do do with emotion?
Number one, please remember your emotions are not the enemy.
Emotions are a signal from your your heart.
Let's say in this cup or let's say here this this this contain this container.
Since young when a child is born inside is empty isn't it?
What you put inside the child gets scolded the child get love the child get hug the child get beaten the child get cursed.
Okay.
Slowly slowly everything the we never address it. We just grow up.
Insight is still in many many things.
Okay. The emotion that you express is really what is inside you. You need to take them out.
What is inner peace? Inner peace means inside empty already.
That it can only go through if you cultivate and face ourself honestly.
Because most of us are suffering from one curse. The curse to be good.
If you don't do then you are not good boy. If you don't do like that you are not good girl.
Right.
Hello.
>> Yeah. All of us got the same curse. And if you are not good boy, not good girl, you don't do what I say. Oh, then m you you will cause mommy, daddy to quarrel and fight. You will cause grandma uh grandma and mother to quarrel and fight.
You will cause uh you are the one that caused the bad thing to happen in the family to happen.
Have like as though it's your fault like that.
True.
Right.
So if we the we go through all this then what's happening or you know we say like this I'm telling you because for your own good s right yeah when young time sit down there you know they I'm telling you for your own good go eat and die you this and that what what's happening you know or or people tell you say I'm telling you so that you can protect yourself so that you this this that maybe you don't have the karma to experience this in this life but people keep on telling you telling you telling you so you don't have inner peace because because of you your parents quarrel because of you your parents divorce because of you your grandfather died because of you your because of you you're not good enough your father your father mother this and that or because I don't want my father mother to quarrel and fight or I do everything I be a good boy I be a good girl so that they know they don't quarrel and fight or so that I I can be good enough for them correct so when we talk about letting It's really not so much about losing things but really regaining peace.
So a bit this teaching little bit difficult many people crying. Yeah.
But true, we all suffer since young.
Okay. Whether we whether we know or we don't know, we all suffer since young.
And nobody have a good life.
Everybody think they have good life.
Nobody really have a good life. Okay. So what are the methods? Now the next thing is to teach you the method.
Before we can do anything, please remember you are still alive.
Please remember that you can breathe. So whenever you are lost with your emotion okay so you must remember right now is your emotion are not the enemy okay because if you if you accept in your mind emotion is the enemy in your mind there's an enemy then even something that is inanimate becomes a you a real target for my bad behavior.
For example, anything that is bad that anything that is bad or or or not good in your life is because of the tree in front of your house.
You leak pain because the tree in front of your house knee pain because of a tree in front of your house because uh you you got the children get sick because of the tree in front of your house. Sooner or later you want to chop and burn that tree, right?
Correct or not? But that tree may be growing just the tree is just being a tree. the tree grow, many birds come and lay build nest, lay their eggs and and many other beings were enjoying the shape. But you see our habit is to always find some someone or something to blame which is so so we try to blame all the thing to there. So you see finding someone to blame the root is fear. The next is treating that all these thing all these emotions are bad. So the emotions can also become like the tree or anything or because because you're angry person that's why you bad luck or because you're angry person that's why this thing happened to you because you're angry person but emotional person can be a happy person also you know or because you're always happy that's why you always fall down you always laugh at this and that. So you're always happy that's why this. So you see we when we hear the word emotional or emotion we always link it to bad but emotion being emotion good happy emotion sad emotion also emotion anger also emotion so we don't want to see things as bad but we understand those as manifestation of insecurities and fear And so what can you do? Are they real or are they empty? Are they interdependent?
Okay. Or is so you must first you must understand when Buddhism we say is it real or is it empty? A best way for a lay person to understand this emptiness is is it a illusion?
Just like what you see on a television screen. It is a illusion. But we can think of it as real. I saw it on TV. Is it real? These days I saw on computer. I saw on the mobile phone. It's AI, right? Yeah. I saw there was one one AI screen. I uh uh yesterday uh all the all the leaders of the few the few main leaders of the world were eating and drinking together and dancing together. They was thinking if this really happened is a very good news for the world.
Right? So, so we must see everything as everything including ourself, our current form, our our childhood fear as illusion.
So what do we deal? How do we deal with it? What do we do? Sit down and think of that illusion and start breathing in.
Because if you realize when we're angry or sad or frightened, we don't know what to do. What do what do we do? Huh? Cry.
What else?
Huh?
>> Huh?
>> Hide. What else?
Throw tantrum. What else?
Before this thing happened, something happened first. Before you're throwing temption, your height, your cry, your what happens?
High blood pressure.
Huh? What else? What do you say? Who said what?
>> Blame someone. Before you blame someone, something happened also.
Huh? Yes. It's not you forgot to breathe. You stop breathing when someone score you or someone blame you or some this and that but actually you don't even know what's happening.
What do you do? You stop breathing. Do you know right? It's these moments when you stop breathing that affect you that affect all of us affect each other really badly.
So when we start to think about these things, we really need to learn to take deep breath.
Don't breathe out. Continue to take breath.
Okay?
For me personally, I always pray to my guru, right?
And so actually I wrote a song of prayer to my guru.
Yeah, I pray to my guru and and after that then I absorb my guru in my heart and I breathe and then after that when I'm willing when I feel tired then I breathe out and I tell myself now I allow this to because we have never allowed our yourself to let that situation go. No, right?
Sometime is like uh maybe our ancestors say to us, oh teach the children, teach the grandchildren to never forgive this this race of people or this group of people or this people with this belief or people with this surname or people with this this that that right? We hear this kind of stories, right? Yeah.
I heard this when I was young.
All right. Uh these people are all bad people. Oh, this uh this this that that that after that because we want to suddenly we see this this group of people can judge another group of people and then suddenly ostracize them. Now that I'm still being accepted, I better be good. I better to be in their good books.
So at least I got a place. at least I'm I'm still uh allowed to be in this cam of thoughts right so all this come from all previous life the activity that we did the same to others okay that's why purification important or not yes Okay. But right now before purification, what is the fastest way of fastest way of purification is inner reflection.
Inner reflection with the experience of bodhicha. If we can experience make this it's easy to intellectualize emptiness.
Intellectualize just think oh emptiness this this that that easy to but when you want to experience bodhicha okay now this great suffering this and that. So now I I with the motivation I generate this mind to become a Buddha so I can free myself and all beings with this same situation lead them to freedom and enlightenment.
And it's not just mere talking, it's a experience.
It's just that when you're eating, you're experiencing not just the food, also the surrounding, right? Okay. It can be exactly the same thing where you drink it, where you drink, where you eat.
That's why some some somebody was saying that or eating it here and then you or bringing it back home to eat the taste is different. Of course, the taste is different because you're smelling different also, smelling different, hearing different, seeing different, temperature also different. Of course, it's different.
All right?
Okay. So, it's about really breathing in and feeling the experience and tell yourself, I'm tired of all this already and I'm willing and now allow that allow them to be free.
I must allow my own I must allow my own suffering to be free.
So the suffering may have somewhere else to go other than just to be attached to you.
Just like to say like that. Of course suffering itself has no mind.
Okay. But the thing is that we have been putting this suffering like fire has no mind. Right? fire. We can keep the fire in the lantern. Right. Right. But when you let the lift when you open the lantern, lift the the the paper out, the fire can be blown away by the wind.
You let the fire you let the fire go.
Maybe the fire is so tired of being kept alive, but the fire wants to go.
Okay. So, breathing and not breathing out yet, but continue to breathe in and to hold it in and hold in more air until we feel it's so tired to keep all this thing inside. And then you tell yourself again, I'm willing to let it go.
Now, this thing cannot let go if you refuse to write it down.
Okay. What is important is whatever that is bothering you, you have to put it in, you have to really put it into words.
Write it down and then case by case basis do this, you know, and then you say to yourself, you know, we always think about saying this few lines to other people, right?
I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.
I love you. But have you ever said to yourself, "I'm sorry. Please forgive me.
Thank you. I love you. I love me."
We always want other people to love ourself. But how about we love ourself first?
How about we try to love ourself first?
If not, it's always the situation that you want to love other people, you want to do this, you want to do that, you want to you want to achieve so many things to hide your your own inner pain, suffering and insecurity, right? There some people want to do this, want to do that, want to achieve this, want to achieve that and everything. But once you achieve already, then you do not know what to do with it.
Isn't it right? So this is the this is the way that I I recommend to you. It is your choice.
It is your choice how you want to do with it with this knowledge. You want to make it into your experience or you just want to keep it somewhere in your in your knowledge textbook is your choice.
Okay.
So final.
Okay.
My wish for you is you have to You have to live let you live your everyday life day by day.

Live your life day by day. Choose to live your life day by day.
