Royal Pied Python has an amazing, beautiful Clutch!Added:
[music] [music] [music] >> Hi Sarah. Hello.
How excited are you?
>> I'm very excited. Guys, I just want to say a very warm welcome to THE SNOOK SHOW.
>> [screaming] [groaning] >> AND TODAY, UH IT'S BEEN THE AN amazing weekend so far. Kidderminster Harriers have been promoted up to the National League. My team that I've supported for over 40 years. 45 years, 40 years. It's something around that. So, that got off to a great day. And then, our cooker was uh delivered. Finally, we've got a cooker and installed.
>> [laughter] >> We had one delivered last week and it was the wrong size, so they took it back. So, we've been without a cooker for nearly 3 weeks now, but now we have one. So, yeah, happy days. And then, just to top it off, we got babies. We didn't We had an inkling that this little girl was pregnant, but she wasn't really showing. No. Wasn't really showing at all. And then today, I came in What happened was, I came in to get a picture for our football um group in on Facebook. Um the National League North or National League and Enterprise.
>> Enterprise. Enterprise National League.
And um with the with um Ellie, our beautiful beautiful five who most of you already know. So, that's fantastic. And um I went to get them out. I laid out my t-shirt cuz she was going to lie on it with a snake sacks um pillows next to her that you can see just there. You know, she was all set up for a little photo shoot for Ellie. And I picked up her hide. She was in a hide.
And there's blooming eggs. Yes. I'm like, "Oh my goodness." So, the cooker was being fitted at the time. And we were I was like, "We've got eggs. WE'VE GOT EGGS. WE'VE EGGS." And what what happened was he had to shut off the electrics as well. And I'm like, "I need to get the heating on. Come on. I need to get the heating on." You know, panic panic panic stations. So, um Sarah, you're really happy about this, aren't I am really happy. So, it is Ellie and Jasper. So, they first locked on the 27th of November last year.
>> Cool cool cool. And um so, they've been locking intermittently for a while.
>> haven't they? We didn't think that she was pregnant cuz she was not showing any signs of getting bigger.
>> at all. She has been off of her food.
>> That's one thing.
>> But um that was one one thing that was like, "Right, okay. This isn't normal for Ellie." Um but yes, so she is a pied and she's 66% het ultramel. Yeah. And her partner in crime is Jasper. And Jasper, we are unsure of if he carries any hets. So, we put them together hoping >> got him from >> We got him from Southern Aquatics.
>> And where did Ellie come from? Ellie came from Paul at New Forest Morphs. So, thank you very much, Paul, for Ellie.
She's beautiful. Now, Paul Paul will know that um yeah, Ellie's had her very first clutch here at the Snake Shack, where you can find us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, you know, the rest of >> of it.
>> Yeah. Bad bad plug there, but there you go. Had to link it in somewhere. And if you haven't already, guys, please do subscribe to the channel um and share it out with all your friends. Give it a big thumbs up. And if you've got any questions about the Snake Shack, then um just contact me and Sarah. Yeah. We'll answer your questions if you've got any.
So, yeah, as I was saying, so they look first locked on the 27th of November.
Didn't know that she was pregnant. So, it was a bit of a shock and a bit of a surprise, but a lovely one at that today.
>> of minutes.
>> And um so, we've done the calculations of when they are actually going to pip or when we should hopefully start seeing movement and when they pip and hatch.
>> When they're due, basically.
>> they're due. So, which is going to be the 3rd of July.
>> Ooh. We want to hold out for one more day before the 4th of July. Independence Day for all of our American supporters across the pond so they can celebrate their Independence Day with us celebrating new pied babies.
It's I can't wait now because We've got to get them out. Yeah, okay. Let's have a look, Sarah. I want to have a look at Jasper, the the daddy first. So, if you could just show us Jasper. We've got the bedding all set up. There's only four eggs at the moment.
>> At the moment.
>> So, he is on as is everybody else is.
She looks a little bit defensive. That's all right. Don't worry about her. She is very defensive at the moment. And um we're just going to pop in there and see dad.
That's it. If you pull that out for me, Sarah, that'll be brilliant. Hey, congratulations, Jasper. You is a daddy, innit, mate?
Innit? You is an amazing dad. Well done, Jasper. So, as you can see, he's um a low pied, what we call low pied. And like Sarah said, we've got him from Southern Aquatics. We don't know what else is in him. So, it's going to be really exciting when these eggs do hatch around the 3rd. [music] And then we obviously give them That's 55 days from now and then we give them another 10 days until um you know, if they haven't hatched and then we will go in and cut them like we do with the rest of them.
And there's mom. I don't know if she's still laying at the moment.
>> No, those are the eggs that were there earlier. Well done, girl. Well done, my baby. Good girl. Good girl.
>> but it is only a small clutch. It's a clutch.
So, um I'm going to let you get her out cuz I'm not brave enough. Okay.
>> [laughter] >> Right, then. Daddy's going to go in. If you get that on him for a minute.
Oh. Daddy's going to go in. Sorry, guys.
I should have turned the camera there, yeah.
That's all right.
Hey, darling.
Now, this is where daddy could get bit.
I'm going to go and get some rubber gloves anyway to be on, you know, to be you know, nice and clean and hygienic and things.
So, well done, Jasper.
But yeah, he could be carrying some heads, which would be nice if he carries the um ultra mel het and she carries the ultra mel het. Yeah. We should get some really nice um ultra mel pipes. Hopefully, fingers crossed for that guys for us. We're praying to the um the odds the old gods. Our gloves aren't going on properly.
Our gloves aren't going on properly.
Right, one of them's on properly, so that's fine. Right, so I'm going to go in flat handed.
Well done, baby girl. And um see yeah, she maybe she maybe.
Hello, baby girl. So, we're going to go in nice and slow. Hello, darling. She's not doing tongue flicks.
And that is a a real strike pose there.
>> That is.
All right, darling. This is like getting away.
>> I think I'm going to get Ellie out first and then we'll get the eggs.
So, come here, darling. Good girl. Good girl. Now, blue and green are two of their favorite colors. Good girl. Good girl. There we go. So, we're going to go >> She's very good anyway.
>> underneath. We're going to go underneath. Good girl.
If you go underneath the snake as opposed to on top, that'll make sure that you're a lot lot safer. Sir, do you want to come in here?
There we go. Come on then, baby girl.
So, daddy's going to come in with Look at that.
And that is exactly how you do it. Oh, it looks like we've got a slug there, sir. Unfortunately. Okay.
>> We've got one slug.
But we'll we'll you know, we'll give it a shot. Hello, baby girl.
Hello, darling. Hello. Oh, you're lovely and warm.
Well done, mum. She might have some more eggs.
>> to go and have a bath shortly. We'll put her back in. But what I want to do is transfer these eggs.
Excuse the body, guys.
Um I do apologize. Um it might be all right. Yeah, it's all right. It might be all right. But there's one really large egg there. Yeah, well, it's Like let me get that to Okay, you take the eggs there.
Put them out. And I'll um All right, you okay with that, camera? I am.
There we go. Oh, what's in there, Lee?
So, I've got my I've got my perlite already been set up here with a little grid. So, I'm just going to pop that on the floor down there.
I need a glove, Glenn. There.
>> [snorts] >> Take that camera a second.
>> There we go. Thank you. Wow, look at those.
Yeah, that one does look a little bit sluggish, but hopefully, fingers crossed.
>> But we'll candle them later.
>> We'll candle them. And see how they go.
>> And candling them, you know, helps us see the veins and everything. Okay, so I'm just going to >> What's beeping there? I don't know. I'm just going to put them in here straight away.
So, I'm going to lay them how she's [clears throat] laid them.
>> Yeah, so you don't want to roll your eggs.
>> So, there's one. That does look like a slug, but we will candle it. Yeah, we'll give it a go. We'll have a look.
Two.
Are those two together?
>> Those two are together.
>> Can't we separate them, or should we leave them?
>> separate them, but I'd rather just leave them for the minute. Okay, let's get them out.
>> one really large egg there. We've got We got perlite at the bottom with one of these aquarium These are aquarium dividers. They're saved for the fish tanks. So, we've got those um just um mixed it with a little bit of water to get the moisture into the perlite, and um we'll see how we go. Yeah, but I'm going to candle that one, but I don't think that one's okay, but it might just be that she's only just laid it. Yeah, it could be It could well be. That was the one that was by her cloaca, yeah?
So, yeah, she could have just laid that, and it might not have had time to go >> [clears throat] >> go white. So, I'm going to put the lid on. Oh, darling.
What's on CT?
Just going to put the lid on there, just so that they're safe, and I'm going to stick them in the incubator. Then I'm going to candle them um a little bit later, and then we'll mark them on the top.
So, as you see, they go into the incubator. Now, as you guys can see, the incubator I had to turn it back on cuz we turned it off a couple of days ago.
It's not showing, but that's set at 31.
That's exactly where you want it, and at the moment it's 30.03.
So, it was a little bit cooler than required than the ideal, but obviously you can have temperatures a couple of degrees Celsius above and a couple [music] of degrees Celsius below. But the the ideal is around the 31 mark. And like we said, these will be in there for 55 days. It is mad. It's just so silly we turned the incubator off today cuz we moved the corn snake ones over onto here. That's reading 28. I need Oh.
I think she's pooped on me. I think she might be wanting to lay another egg.
She'll be >> with that. Let me put her back in. You take that. Got to give that a little bit of a shuffle.
Pop you back in there, sweetie pie.
Which way were we we were that way.
And then, yeah, pop her back, and then we'll try again. Have another look at her.
>> Let's have a look, but she really is didn't show. And she's not thin, either.
I think she just mushed on me, that's all. I think that's what that was. I can feel some damp on my arm. So, well done, Ellie. We'll keep I'll check those temperatures in just a few minutes.
Should be around the uh 26 uh 86 to 88.
I just want to say, guys, thank you for joining us here at the snake shack today. Um amazing. We're so excited about these because, you know, hopefully all four eggs will pull through, and she might have a couple more. We'll keep you up to date.
Um but, you know, if those eggs, all four of them pull through, you know, even if one does, they're going to be amazing cuz obviously, as you've seen, mom and dad are simply stunning. Oh, I'm so pleased. Yeah, me too. And I'm so excited, really really excited. So guys, I want to say to you thank you for joining us here today at the station.
>> [laughter] >> So until next time, uh look after each other, share a smile, God bless each [music] and every single one of you.
Have a fantastic weekend, whatever you are getting up to this weekend. And uh we'll see you all again very soon. So until next time, stay safe, look after each other like I've already said, and remember, love the world you're living in. And keep on silvering. We're out of here.
