Did Chinese man really do something wrong?

[00:00:00]So, a lot of Westerners are freaking out about something a Chinese man did in one of my videos. I feel like I kind of need to make this video to hopefully explain things so that they make more sense. My daughter and I went to a small restaurant here. We met some really friendly locals and uh we were chatting with them for a while. They gave us like food and stuff. It was super nice and it's always the case here in the northeast of China. People are just really friendly and you know they they love my daughter because she's really outgoing and people just in this region of China just really like kids. They're just very family orientated. They often have kids themselves and I don't know what it's like. You know, ever since I had two kids of my own, whenever I see other kids now, especially when they're very outgoing and stuff, I want to chat with them, you know, I want to kind of play around with them. The thing that the Westerners were freaking out about, firstly, these guys asked to take a photo with us at the end of this meal, which is not uncommon here in China. I mean, foreigners and mixed kids are very rare here. So, often when people meet us, they want a photo to kind of, I guess, just treasure the memory of the time they met a foreigner. And it's totally fine, you know, especially when they ask permission so politely and I feel like I've really made a connection.

[00:01:08]I wanted to keep the photo for myself as well, you know, and I took it with my own phone and then I told the guy, "You can add my WeChat." And I sent him the photo, you know, so everything was on my terms. They asked for permission and it was totally fine. And the guy said, "Is it okay if like I hold your daughter up for the photo?" And I said, "You can ask her." And she said, "It's totally fine."

[00:01:27]So I let him hold her up. We took the photo. Everything was totally fine. We went home. So I posted the video and people were like, "Oh my god, you let a man you don't know touch your kid?"

[00:01:36]Quite obviously he has kids of his own.

[00:01:39]He just liked my daughter. And people just freaking out. You know, I've got all kinds of comments. I'm not going to go through them all. People saying, "What kind of father are you letting somebody touch your kid?" Allowing that to happen on your watch. People even accusing this guy of being something he obviously isn't. What a world we live in now, guys, where we can't allow people to be nice to our kids, touch our kids, just in a friendly, wholesome way. It's insane. The fact that I've had people accuse me of being a bad father for this has offended me on a personal level. But I also feel offended that people have accused this guy of doing something wrong. Because having lived here in this part of China for years now, I'm feeling like these people are family. Some people are actually my family here. So to have the northeastern people accused of something, to have that guy accused of something, I I take that personally as well. Guys, please unfollow me if you think I'm a bad father for letting a nice guy just hold my daughter for a photo. Please unfollow. Take care. Okay.
