[00:00:53]And so, when we were looking through uh the regulations for everything, it said it was good to go.

[00:01:26]And came here and and they're like, "Oh, yeah, like non-non-resident military you get the pricing and when I bought the tag online or the license online, I read the regu- the the uh guidelines that it gave me. It didn't say anything about having to hunt with a guide.

[00:01:44]And so, yeah, I didn't realize that I needed a guide. Uh-huh.

[00:01:49]For brown bear? Yeah. Yeah, for brown bear, Dall sheep, or mountain goat, those are the three things that you need a guide for.

[00:01:58]So, um at your buddy's bear bait stand or your buddy's buddy's bear bait stand, you said it was upriver from Nenana on the left-hand side.

[00:02:13]So, when you see So, 20C would be probably >> We're about an hour upriver.

[00:03:10]Um Maybe like Not that long. It came right up to the the base came up kind of like maybe like a minute all in total.

[00:03:25]And then I didn't really have a good shot, so I waited went up to the the base station. And then I had a good shot, so maybe like a minute total.

[00:03:37]So, I mean, you were you were operating completely under the um the auspices that it was completely legal for you to take a brown bear as a non-resident mil military Yes. I license. Okay.

[00:03:54]Uh unfortunately, it is not. Um is this the bear here? Yeah. Okay.

[00:04:02]They did all the measurements and they filled out all the forms.

[00:04:11]So, Isaac, what's going to happen is I'm going to have to seize that bear. I'm going to have to issue you a citation.

[00:04:19]So, um this is going to be a mandatory court appearance. I will research it, but um we don't it's going to be the kind of one where you're going to have to go to court. The district attorney's going to probably have some kind of offer that will be offered to you. If you plead guilty, there'll be some kind of deal.

[00:04:48]It's not like a I'm just saying it's not like a set fine. It's not like, "Okay, that's a $200 fine."

Uh I want to make this as easy for you. So, what we usually do is put these at about a month out. It's going to be in the Nenana cuz that's the the area you were in where you killed the bear.

[00:06:00]So, in case you're, you know, deployed or out on exercises or something, I just want to talk to you about their court meets on Monday at 2:30. So, is there anything like that you think you'll be completely gone for something around a month from now?

[00:07:01]So, the offense is take brown bear as a non-resident without a guide. So, this just says did unlawfully take a brown bear. Cree took a brown bear on 6/7 with a non-resident military license.

[00:07:11]Non-residents are required to have a guide or family member within second degree of kindred who is a resident to legally take a brown bear. And then this occurred in game management unit 20C.

[00:07:21]I'm seizing a brown bear hide and skull.

[00:07:24]Uh we hold on to that through the um the trial as evi- not trial, through the investigation as evidence.

[00:07:34]So, this is mandatory court appearances for you to is for arraignment. This is where you would enter your plea. It's not a trial.

[00:07:41]It's just the day that you would enter uh uh a plea for the offense. Do you have any questions for me?

[00:07:49]Is there any chance I can get that back after after the trial's over or anything or So, >> Can't say if that happens. the the court, the district attorney, and the the court will in the ruling will uh decide whether that happens or not. So, most of the time in cases like this, those are going to be forfeit because it was unlawfully taken in the first place. Okay. Yeah.
