This video demonstrates how police officers can detain individuals without probable cause when they rely on subjective assumptions rather than factual evidence, as shown in two separate incidents where officers detained a man sitting in a park and two men in a restaurant based on biased assumptions about their identity and activities, only to discover they were actually law enforcement personnel themselves.

Dumb Cop Intimidates Homeless Man That's An Undercover FBI Agent!Added:
Okay. Hold on, let me finish.
You come in, you cause a problem, and then we have to go a different route.
So, go ahead and stand up. Stand up, put your back towards me. I'm not going to let you murder someone tonight and be trouble. So, give me that hand. It's my man. Don't don't fight it. We're going to slowly do this. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, back up, my man, my man. Hold on, hold on, what are you doing? What's up?
What's up? Hey, officer. Hey, I don't know you, man. Officer, what's going on?
What did he do?
>> Oh, what are you doing? I don't know you, officer. What's going on? I didn't do anything.
>> One of ours, one of ours. What do you mean? You are an idiot.
>> know these two guys.
>> The man's crime, sitting in the shade on a hot day, but the officer isn't satisfied. He keeps pressing, and what he says next reveals exactly where this is headed. What's up, my man? What are you doing laid up out here in the park?
You got any ID on you?
I do, but what's up?
What do you mean, what's up? I'm asking you. I'm out here prowling [clears throat] the park. All of a sudden, I got a dude just sitting here laid out. Okay, I'm You taking a nap or chilling or what?
>> man. It's, you know, it's hot outside.
I'm just Right.
>> I'm enjoying my day. You can't find a more subdued area to define some shade.
I mean, I I get that this is a shaded area, but >> Right, this is the most shaded area out here. I mean, like >> But, you're still The officer just admitted there's no legal violation, but he's still not walking away. Instead, he keeps circling back to one phrase, a guy like you. And the man sitting there catches it immediately. It's It's just a park that's not meant for you. That's the problem. And it's cement, so it's not even cool. It's just shade.
>> you mean, it's a park that's not meant for me? I mean, what are you doing?
Where Where are you headed? You are you headed home or No worries, man. I'm just chilling. I'm enjoying the breeze today.
Like, it's it's hot outside. I'm cool.
I'm chilling. I guess my point is, if you're headed home or you don't have a home, you should either head home or if there's no home, there's better places for you to kind of park for the night, right? This isn't this place, even though it's a park.
>> bothering anybody. Well, you're you're frustrating me cuz >> bothering somebody. I'm not doing anything wrong.
Well, wrong is kind of subjective, right? So, legally, you're you're really crossing any lines. But, as I make my rounds, it's frustrating to see you discouraging the park from being used because you're out here >> so frustrating about me being here? I'm not bothering you. I'm not bothering nobody. Why are you messing with me right now?
>> It's a nice day and the park's empty and I'm wondering if that has something to do with you being out here laid out having a snack in the middle of the day.
I doubt one person like me is going to have the park empty. The officer just implied this man could be a murderer based on nothing but him sitting in a park. And now, despite admitting there's no crime, he's escalating to an arrest.
Watch what happens next. Well, even like you said, like you, what do you mean by the like you? Someone that's out here where they're not supposed to be? Man, I'm just chilling. I'm not doing anything wrong. I I don't want to disrespect you, sir, and I'm not being disrespectful. Thank you.
Thank you. I'm not disrespecting you in no way, but honestly, I'm just relaxing, man. I'm just enjoying the And I can appreciate I'd love to show you some respect, but you used the words like you. What do you mean like you? Cuz you understand that a dude like you You're trying to make this something that it's not. It It's just about It's about leaving the park approachable for everyone else. And And with you it it I'm approaching you for the people who are uncomfortable approaching this park so that I can have a conversation with you. Maybe you can move along to a even cooler place, man. Maybe a place where you can camp out for the night.
I'm not uncomfortable, but everyone I mean, when the park's empty on a nice day, you got to ask yourself why.
>> Okay, what do you mean? I'm not I'm not doing anything wrong.
>> Where are all the mothers with their kids? Where is everybody playing? Okay, I'm one guy. Right. And Maybe they're not outside because it's hot. But as you said, a guy like you. So, a guy like you puts out sonar to everyone else so when they go, "Hey, am I comfortable?" they go, "No." Am I free to go? I'll leave.
Listen, I just need your ID. Let's get back to the thing. I'll run you.
[snorts] I'll make sure you're straight.
We'll get you on the I'm not giving you my ID. I need to see your ID so that I can make sure that I don't need to take you downtown. I can just, you know, help you maybe pick a a cooler place to sit for the night. What's the problem?
Because at this point, now that I've inter- Do you have probable cause? Why do you need to see my My man, now that we're interacting, we might as well just go through it, right?
I [snorts] now need to make sure >> why. Let me know why you Absolutely, because now I that we've had this interaction, I want to make sure I'm not sending some some troublesome some person that's Troublesome? Right. What do I know that you've got going on? I don't know you. We don't know each other. This is our interaction.
So, I can't If I send you out there and you go out and you hurt somebody, right?
That's all me. You're literally on my camera having an inter- What makes you think me sitting right here, minding my own business, is hurting your person?
Nothing. That's We're going to We're going to run your ID.
We're No, we're not, but we're going to run your ID and we're going to make sure that that's not the case. No crime, no probable cause, but the cops are going on anyway. And the man calm this entire time is now being detained. But the officer has no idea who he just put in handcuffs. Cuz this this camera is not going to show on the news >> giving you my ID. the man that just killed a whole nice family, right?
>> That's crazy. I'm just saying, what if a family decides to go to a park like this? You're sitting here playing nice guy. Why are you assuming that I'm a I'm not assuming anything. I'm here to protect and serve. And you should be.
I'm serving. I'm not assuming, I'm serving. Protect and serve anyone. Yes.
Yes, you're part of this.
>> What do you mean? Yes, I'm protecting you from what you may or may not do, man.
Listen, I would rather have here right now, sitting on this bench, minding my own business, cooling down in this hot weather. What is your issue? There's no issue. Listen, let me answer that question.
>> I'd rather have you let me see your ID, find out you're safe, move you along to a nice cool space for your protection as well as everyone else's. Everyone else comes in. One of ours, the man in handcuffs, detained for sitting in a park, is law enforcement. The bystanders who intervened, also law enforcement.
And just like that, officer Johnson's entire stop collapses. No charges, no crime, just an officer who assumed the worst about a man enjoying a summer day and got it completely wrong. You in, you cause a problem, and then we have to go a different route. So, go ahead and stand up. Stand up, put your back towards me. I'm not going to let you murder someone tonight and be in trouble. So, give me that hand. All right, my man. Don't Don't fight it.
We're going to slowly do this. My man, we're going to get you cuffed.
Thank you. Thank you for complying, but again, I'm trying to protect you from myself, my man. I don't know [snorts] you. I don't know I don't know your mental stability. I just need you Stop.
Play it cool. Stop. My man Officer Johnson, my man.
3795. Just stay cool. Stay cool. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, back up, my man, my man.
What's up? What's up? Hey, officer. Hey, I don't know you, man. Officer, what's going on?
What are you doing? I don't know you, officer. What's going on?
One of ours? One of us? What do you mean?
I don't know these two guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But before you just come and make assumptions, all right? Do your job correctly. I'm trying to serve, man.
>> correctly, man. Okay, okay. That's my bad. Do your job >> That's my bad.
>> It's people like you that got the system really messed up.
All right, okay, okay.
That's my bad. That's my bad. That's my bad.
The officer keeps asking for ID. The men keep asking the same question, "What law did we break?" And instead of answering, the officer just loops back to the ID request. Listen to how this tension builds.
Hey, what's up, guys? I'm Officer Suarez with the police department. I got some complaints from the waitress that you guys are planning a heist. Uh just trying to come in and check in on you guys, see what's going on. If I can get like an ID from you guys, make sure who you guys are, that way I can start trying to figure out what's going on here.
I'm not going to have I don't think so.
What did What did we do wrong? What did we We just sit here and eat. What did What are we doing?
Yeah, like I said, the waitress called.
She called the police department. She said that there was two guys in a booth hanging out, looking over plans with markers and talking about banks and things like that and couple customers complaints and patrons are saying some things and so I'm showing up here just to kind of check what's going on. Like I said, I just want to see an ID, make sure who you guys are, [clears throat] things like that. Make sure everything's all good. We're not going to give our IDs. That's the number one.
I'm trying to figure out which customer is complaining.
Uh again, I don't know that sir. Like I said, I just got here. I got told by the waitress that you guys were making some kind of like bank heist plans. So I'm just trying to check in on you guys, get an ID, kind of start figuring out what's going on. So what crime do you think we've committed?
Again, like I said, I'm I'm sitting here. I just I'm just trying to get an ID, man. I'm just trying to figure out what you guys are doing, what you guys are doing here.
Waitress called and complained. So that's the complaint. That's why I'm coming in here to check. Like I said, if I could see an ID. First of all, why do you feel like you have to come in here and harass me? Cuz that's what I see. We're just two guys in here talking.
And you come in here and just start harassing us.
For no reason.
No, I I >> who is this waitress that's saying all this stuff about us?
>> Like like I said, sir, I I just got here. So my my initial like to come check on you guys first, right? If if something were happening, then then there would be a problem. But like I said, all I'm trying to do right now is get an ID, see who you guys are.
>> coming. It's still coming. I'm telling you. It's still coming. Nobody said something was happening. What do you mean? Yeah, stop doing what's happening.
The officer still hasn't explained what crime they're suspected of and the men have had enough. But then one of them asks a question that stops the officer cold and changes everything. Something is happening. You're standing here bothering us while we're trying to eat our breakfast.
Like I said, I'm not trying to bother you guys. I got a call from waitress saying that somebody was doing something they shouldn't be doing.
>> talk to the waitress?
Like I said, I'm over here. I'm I'm trying to make sure that nothing is happening first. So, as long as nothing is happening, we're good, right? So, if I can see an ID Like I Like I said, I'm just trying to get an ID and make sure who you guys are, right? Because that complaint The complaint I'm Officer Suarez with the police department. Badge number 318.
Yes, sir.
having a conversation. Okay, then there should be no problem showing me an ID then.
We're not doing anything. We're just sitting here. Okay, like I said, the waitress called me and said that there was something weird going on. I'm trying to figure that I'm trying to get to the But, if we're not doing anything wrong, then you don't have no right to come up here and question us like we're doing something wrong. Like we're bad guys or something. We're just sitting here waiting on our bread.
Like I said, I'm Like I said, I'm just trying to get an ID to see who you guys are I said Officer Suarez with the police department.
Okay, so see, I got no problem I got I got no problem Okay, I got no problem I got no problem identifying myself. Why do you guys got a problem with it? I'm Like I said, try to help me out here so I can get this done quicker. All I need to do is see an ID.
Detectives. The two men accused of planning a bank heist were detectives reviewing plans for work. The officer walked in expecting criminals. He walked out apologizing. No arrest, no charges, just a lesson in what happens when assumptions drive the stop instead of facts. The outcome of any complaint or internal review is not provided.
>> You know what I'm saying about you having this conversation? Because this conversation was just like baffling to me. You walk up to two people sitting here trying to get something to eat because of the color of our skin, and you want to eyeball our table talking talking about I got a complaint from somebody.
Well, guys, y'all Look, look. Like I said, I don't know who you guys are. I got called from the waitress. Waitress said that patrons are complaining that y'all are talking about bank plans, y'all got markers. Clearly, y'all got pictures of the bank right here.
>> the bank. We're not going to the bank so I can rob somebody. What do they know I'm talking about? They don't know what I'm talking about over here. I could be talking about anything. How you know I don't build banks for a living? I might be working for the bank. I might work for the bank security guard or something. Hey, what's up, man? How's it going? Hey, what's up? Hey, man. Hey, man. Hey, man. Hey, man.
Hey, man. Hey, man.
What seems to be the problem here, man?
Uh no problem No problem. Like I said, I I got a call from the waitress. I'm coming in and checking on the call.
That's all, man. But But don't you know who these guys are? You know who these two gentlemen are? I have no idea who these gentlemen are. Man, Detective Ray Hammond, Detective Know-How.
Don't know who these guys are.
>> Oh Oh, you guys are detectives. Come on, man. Yeah. See what I'm saying? Yeah.
Just a little advice. Yeah. You want to walk up on two people that A know their rights, and you just want to keep jump jump jumping? You shouldn't.
If you don't have no reason to suspect people for doing something, just walk away.
All right, guys. My bad. My bad. Y'all Y'all have a good day. Y'all have a good breakfast.
