[00:00:05]In other news, members of Barasua B community in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State dragged past and present community leaders to court over alleged diversion of benefits from oil companies operating in the area. Well, the suit was filed at the High Court 3, Warri Judicial Division, and is instituted by the Abugewa Echie and five others on behalf of communities uh members of the community against Utei Asama and 13 others.

[00:00:36]The claimants allege that community benefits from oil companies operating in the area are not properly accounted for.

[00:00:44]The justice adjourned the matter for June 13th uh for hearing of the motion for interlocutory injunction filed by the claimants.

[00:00:56]They have not fed over the years. They want the court to intervene and come to their rescue. So, the case came up today.

[00:01:05]The case was introduced. The parties have been served here introduced. Then, the motion ex parte for interim injunction was also brought to the notice of court. But, the court was of the opinion that since the claimants are seeking a redress, asking for the defendant to render accounts, uh to be better, the motion should be heard inter partes. That is, the motion should be argued and decided.

[00:01:39]For years, we'll be asking our own who claim to have been representative of the community, we'll be asking them, where are the simple understanding you have with these people? And where are the compensation? Because when they came, they dredged the canal.
